Guest Reviews
- Alnora (6/5): - No breakfast available just coffee
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I stay at the Lakeview quite often to visit a relative in nursing care in Willmar. Everyone there is friendly, extremely helpful.
The cost of a room is lower than others in area. They make me feel at home .
- Michael (6/5): - While the staff was friendly and there was daily maid service, the room was dirty overall. The bathroom fixtures were in need of repair.
In this case, it seemed like you get what you paid for. A cheap room
- Verified traveler (8/5): - There was a funky smell in the air, and the bed was way too hard. But you can't expect them to afford much on maintenance and upgrades at that low of a rate!
- Jacob (2/5): - Quiet
- trish (4/5): - First room smelled liked poop. They were not happy to move us. Stairs were metal and felt shaky. Next morning went to have breakfast and there is none. Supposedly since Covid yet all sites where they are featured show free continental breakfast. Phone blinks off and on intermittently at all times. Breaking point was finding roach on bathtub second night. Next morning microwave, fridge, and tv stopped working. DO NOT Recommend.
- Teena (6/5): - Staff very nice.
Light socket and fan loose. A bit musty at 1st when getting into room
- joshua (10/5): - Clean and comfortable. The staff and community were great. What more could you want.
- Melissa (10/5): - Very nice and comfortable
- Steve (6/5): Great water pressure! - I could feel the springs in the mattress, but I slept pretty well. In fact I slept better than I have in “nicer” hotels with “better” mattresses.
I was very pleasantly surprised with the EXCELLENT water pressure!
The room was quiet, I slept well, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent!
I found good value in this small hotel and would happily stay here again.
- Chad (2/5): - Never got to stay there they told me they didn't have a room for the time I booked for
- Jon (8/5): - Good
- Sean (2/5): Never again - Light switch didn't work, tv volume stuck on loud, remote only controlled the channels. Clerk was friendly enough & offered to find a person to fix it, but being 8 at night I just wanted to sleep anyway. Woke up to see a large infestation of Asian beetles in the walls & ceiling. Where there's bugs, there's probably more. The bed was old & worn out.
- Kristin (2/5): - No breakfast.
Very run down.
Bed was too hard and couldnt sleep.
- Laurie (2/5): Overnight stay - Low grade hotel room. Furniture old and scraped. fridge moved out of original cabinet, hole left where fridge should have been. Tub and shower fixture at least an inch from the wall, though water pressure was good and water was hot, which is the only good thing about the room.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The hotel was in terrible shape. Holes in doors, smelled, leaky windows and doors. Listing said there was continental breakfast. There was none. Ice machine didn’t have ice. No soap or shampoo in bathroom.
- Jon (8/5): - Average to below average overall
- Karen (10/5): - Away from the masses. Always get same room so i cant say about rest of them. The staff was super helpful. Gave us the office remote for tv as ours wasnt working. Have stayed here a few times. Its not for everyone but resonable .
- Gordon (8/5): Willmar - It is a little dated but affordable.
- Jason (6/5): - Was a good place was disappointed to find out that the lakeview inn got rid of the breakfast
- Eric Makowski (2/5): - Property was one of the worst I’ve ever stayed in. It was a cold night and the heat did not work. It was intermittent. The door was not sealed properly and cold air was pouring in throughout the night. The room looks like it not been vacuumed the floor at white stuff all over it. The floor in the bathroom was coming up. There was present in the bathroom. Hot water lasted less than five minutes for our shower. The bed was very worn. The best part of the whole room was the toilet, which looked like it was replaced recently. I understand staying at a cheap motel There will not be lots of frills or conveniences. However, I would expect to not freeze, enough hot water for a couple showers, not worrying about what we are walking on on the flooring, and having the door that was sealed. I am highly disappointed highly not recommend using this place.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Was great - The woman at the front desk on our first night was great she went out of her way to get us into the room since she had never had a Klarna purchase. It was a quiet establishment and housekeeping was nice
- David (4/5): - No Internet access
- Michael (4/5): - Very noisy, people coming and going until 3am. Very run down. Suspicious activity.
- Nick (6/5): - A little dated but priced well
- Alan (8/5): - Motel was clen and quiet but needs a facelift, bathroom floor badly in need of repair
- Sally (8/5): - The staff is friendly and very welcoming will stay again. Rooms need a bit more work when it comes to cleanliness but overall I recommend to stay with a family long or short term
- Breeanna (10/5): - Cheap, easy check in, friendly staff.
- Mike (10/5): - Ot was uniquely fantastico staff very freindy nice rooms
- Rachel (8/5): Affordable - The lady at the front desk was so friendly. The room is about what you expect for the more affordable price. Some bumps and bruises, but it was a place to stay while we were in town for family events.
- Anthony (4/5): - The property has the ability to be a great place. The Location wasn't bad, but not the greatest. The suite we stayed in was clean, but had a leaky faucet and when you entered the foyer you could smell mold coming from the basement. The tile around the whirlpool tub needs some attention. The check-in woman was very nice. The stay was comfortable overall. For the price a person would expect better.
- Irene (10/5): - Good.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - the beds were comfortable
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Awesome staff
- Verified traveler (4/5): Stay away - Got the jet tub suite. Broken tiles, ckoset door fell off when touched. Charged $115/night and other guests are shady. Seemed to be meth users.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pleasant people
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room had dried vomit on the floor, the bottom of the bathroom door was was broken off like it had been kicked in and the bathroom door didn’t close. When we asked to be moved to a different room it was a hassle and they refused to give us a refund.
- Juanita (8/5): - Ok
- Monica (8/5): ok stay - The hotel was clean, but not kept up, it had odd marks and dings all over the place. The bed was comfortable. The microwave worked, but it was difficult to understand how to turn the mini-refrigerator on at first. The walls are paper thin and the doors bang shut to close them. The staff were friendly, but did not wear masks at the desk, and we needed to be closer than 6 ft, so I am glad I was wearing my mask.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel - The staff is great, very nice and will help you anyway they can
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not great, not bad... - A no-frills stay. Room had a distinct smell to it, although it said “no smoking.” Bed was okay. Kind of on the edge of town. Not really much nearby. If you’re looking for a quick overnight or inexpensive place to sleep but not hang out, it’s okay. I’ve been in worse. Served its purpose for the night.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Very nice front desk employees. - Anytime you're looking at a motel to stay at, call and ask front desk if they have weekly or monthly rates. I didn't do this and I wished I had, as some of the residents looked a little sketchy, hanging out their doors, watching people walk by, smoking cigarettes, etc. While booking online I didn't see anything that said it was a weekly or monthly rate motel. Also, when I booked the room it said non-smoking, but when I got to the room it smelled like everybody had smoked in there. I went up to the front desk to say there is no way I can stay in there. The very nice two women working the front desk ended up making a call and moving me to a larger room that did not smell of smoke. That was fine, but the room was located in its own in a little hallway, in a very dark corner of the main floor. It's door was located between a stairway going up one level, and another one going down to a basement, I presume, and, there were no hallway lights! The only light that you could see by, was the red glow of the exit sign. It was scary to say the least! (I mean, that was a perfect hallway to film a slasher type movie!) Seriously though, those circumstances are the reason I always pack when I travel.
- Lori (6/5): so so - It was ok, for the price they charge, but wouldn’t stay there for pleasure
- Deborah (6/5): Old and tired - Room was in bad shape. Patched up and painted over, sticky carpet. Bed was clean but not the most comfortable. It was just old and tired.
- Michael (8/5): Lakeview - Room was amazing and very clean and cozy
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Room was questionable, bath tub slowly leaked to empty. Wifi was complete garbage, had to set up a mobile hotspot with m phone to access internet, and was offered no discount for the lack of advertised services.
- William (10/5): Lakeview Charm - Nice family owned inn. We were put on the second floor, which we had to haul our luggage up to. But the view of the lake was worth it! It is a little dated, but the air-conditioning worked great and the price was low.
- Vincent (8/5): Decent. Will stay again - Decent room. I got the jacuzzi suite. It was decent. JETS didnt work quite right. Seemed like it was a good value. I met my current gf there so thats a plus.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Just what I was looking for, a clean comfortable bed
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The so called 'continental ' breakfast was anything But. Don't expect cold cereal, let alone fresh pastry or jam/jelly.
- Anna (10/5): - I came in late. Good staff clean room quiet!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Unsettling security - Reception staff was very friendly and helpful. I did not give Lakeview Inn a high rating mainly due to the type of building it is.This is an older building that has had many obvious repairs. Entry into the room is directly from the outside of the building. All I had for safety and security was a push button lock, similar to a bathroom door lock. The deadbolt did not work and security slide chain lock was missing.(completely pulled out) It was very noisy as you could hear everyone who walked past your door because of the creaky metal flooring and railing. It sounded like people outside were stomping rather than walking! It also sounded like people were slamming their doors to shut them going in and out; the walls also shook a bit every time they slammed. Could hear people pounding on doors, also had an unknown man pounding on my door early in the morning. Bed and room was comfortable, but noisy activity outside was unsettling and disturbing. I would not recommend this Inn for solo women! Continental breakfast was coffee and a basket of desserts similar to individually wrapped Twinkies and Ho-Ho‘s.
- AM (4/5): - A place to sleep and that's it. Very old and not updated at all.
- paul (8/5): - Attended funeral. I just slept there. It was fine for what I needed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good property, nice and clean. Upgraded to larger room for free.
- Joseph (6/5): - Parking was bit clunky. breakfast was a bit sparse. Room was clean but outdated and in need of some repair. Cleanliness was good and sheets and towels seem to be clean
- Doug (8/5): Rustic 1950 style motel - We attended a wedding in the area and needed a room on short notice. We wanted a room with 2 queen beds and this was the only room left in the area with queen beds. The room was small but adequate compared to the major chains. The motel is set back from the highway so it was fairly quite. The hotel staff were very nice and accommodating. The continental breakfast is just that. Coffee and pre-packaged rolls. The room had a refrigerator and a microwave but no coffee maker. This is a 1950 style motel and was in decent shape for its age.
- Fred (10/5): Great for this type of motel and price - It was very good for the price and a nice set up to bring all my tools inside from the cold by parking in front of the door!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - for what i paid it was what i expected. room was clean, bed was comy, locatikn was good
- Boyd (4/5): Motel needs repairs - Staff was friendly, but this older motel is quite run down. Carpet in the room was worn bare in spots. Shower curtain rod was literally falling down. Towels were threadbare and stained.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Things were fine. Nothing spectacular, but fine.
