Guest Reviews
- Evelyn (10/5): - Super nice. Quiet. Would stay again!!
- Jason (10/5): - Clean room. Pet friendly.
- Lisa (10/5): - Great place to grab a night of sleep while traveling. Clean, friendly family owned business.
- Sherri (10/5): - Great experience along I-70, very friendly front desk manager! We were driving my along I-70 and called ahead to see how late we could check in around midnight. The manager was very kind and offered to wait up for us, we were so appreciative! Quiet & clean, dated but perfect for the price.
- John (10/5): - Wonderful stay, great customer service!
- Thomas (8/5): - This was a fine property. Met our needs for a clean, inexpensive place to stay for the night. Front office was very helpful and friendly.
- Cindy (8/5): - My family has stayed here 3 times now, and we like the safe, easy to access location, as well as the nice rooms and friendly hosts. Most recently we booked on Expedia, and even though it lists "total with taxes and fees" and says "What you see is what you pay," I was charged an additional $2.50. When I showed the Expedia price, I was told it was a "card charge." This should be included in the Expedia price - how many people really pay for a hotel with cash? Other than that annoyance, the place is nice, and I would recommend it as long as someone knows the price they are expected to pay ahead of time.
- Elizabeth (6/5): - For the price it was okay and expectation was tempered accordingly. Noticed behind the room entry door spider webs so they must prop door open when cleaning room without checking behind it. The nice big window was dirty-too bad. No coffee pot, coffee or hand & face towels however a call to front desk and items were brought around promptly.
- Reina (2/5): Don’t stay rude staff you will get up charged - I was up charged over 100$ for a “cleaning fee” no cleaning was needed I made sure before leaving when I contacted them in regards to this I received nothing but rudeness and cursing in response and told that I was a lier room and grounds were nasty with empty beer cans outside and in the bbq maker trash everywhere and It smelled terrible like smoke I was also blamed for that as reason for a cleaning fee and I don’t even smoke beware before making a reservation here stayed a lot of places and traveled a lot this was by far one the worst experiences
- Rose (10/5): - Very great stay for the price! Large grass area to walk your dogs. (However keep an eye out for ticks, there were a lot in the grass area)
- Frederick (10/5): - Friendly staff and central location for our needs.
- R Brent (10/5): - Great place for the stop. Clean and friendly.
- John (8/5): - Older motel but it was clean and comfortable
- Terry (6/5): - It was an okay
- Donna (10/5): - We enjoyed our overnight stay here. The property was clean with easy access from the interstate.
- JULIE (10/5): - WHAT A WONDERFUL FAMILY OWNED LITTLE MOTEL!
CHECK IN WAS QUICK AND EASY.
WAS GREETED WITH A SMILE AND A FRIENDLY CLERK. ☺️
KING ROOM WAS CLEAN AND NICE SIZE.😁
BRING CHARCOAL AND LIGHTER FLUID TO GRILL OUT USING THE OUTDOOR GRILL AND PICNIC TABLE THERE.🤗
WILL STAY AGAIN IF IN THAT AREA.
GOOGLE MAPS GIVES WRONG DIRECTION OFF HWY.
COMING FROM THE WEST ON I-70 TURN RIGHT AT OFF RAMP TO GET TO MOTEL. NOT LEFT AS DIRECTED BY GOOGLE.
- Corinne (8/5): - Nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. Perfect for an overnight stay before hitting the road the next day
- Tanisha (10/5): - While this is an older roadside motel, it is cleaner than most places I’ve stayed. The couple who runs it are very friendly and extremely helpful! Great place to stop for the night after a long day’s travel! Water pressure in shower is amazing. I would recommend
- Sarah (10/5): - This is an older hotel without upgrades, but the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Lovely budget hotel for a road trip.
- Lori (10/5): - Owners were super nice. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable.
- GREG (8/5): clean room - The room and property were well kept. It was a clean room along the interstate with no anemities., no ice machine, no breakfast and no pool.
- Todd (10/5): - good
- Richard (10/5): - Nothing fancy, but clean, convenient and good value for a pet-friendly stay while travelling on I-70!?
- Henry (6/5): - The property has a 9 rating which was way more that what it should have been. The staff was very helpful bu the property is old and out of the way.
- Mary (10/5): - Traditional motel with park-at-door access. Clean. Hospitable owner. Perfect for overnighting on road trip. Minor complaint: No coffee pot in room or coffee provided.
- Katherine A. (10/5): - Thank you!
- Chris (10/5): - Wonderful place, wish i could stay here every night on my trip. Rooms are spacious and clean, staff very friendly.
- Karen (10/5): - Clean rooms, friendly people and easy hiway access
- Albert (8/5): - Older facility but kept up fairly well.
- William (10/5): - I was on a long drive and needed a place to spend the night between St Louis and Columbia MO. I found Motel 70 to be absolutely perfect.
Motel 70 is an older facility right off I-70, but for the value I thought I would give it a try. The Manager was fantastic and made me feel at home. The room was clean, including the bathroom, and had all the necessities I needed. The bedding was much better than I expected and again it was clean. I thought for the value this place was great and I will stay here again.
- Thomas (6/5): - Passing thru to sleep only. Ok but could use an update.
- Rita (8/5): Quiet, Comfy & Clean - We arrived late and an attendant was up to cheerfully greet us, the last arrivals. 12 rooms. Quiet. Clean. We would definitely stay there again.
- William (10/5): Weekend getaway - Was an amazing, cute little place just 20 minutes from hermann, mo
- Kevin (10/5): - The staff was very friendly!
- Yaritza (10/5): - Excellent customer service.
- Kurt (10/5): - I requested an early check in and it was no problem, room was nice and shower had plenty of hot water also mini fridge and microwave
- Jacquelyn (10/5): - Incredibly friendly management, room was everything we needed!
Very convenient being right off of i70.
Would come here again.
- Lana (10/5): Perfect place! - Modestly priced. Great location close to I-70 and Hermann MO. Super clean. Very friendly manager who upgraded our room at no charge so we could be next to our friend in another room. Not fancy but spotless and you have a fridge, micro and a sleep sound machine that was great.
- Margi (2/5): - Staff was fine. room was just cleaned but had 15 or more ladybugs. That is not acceptable. I know they are not considered harmful but didn’t want one falling off ceiling into my snoring mouth or going home with me
- ada (8/5): - Great a quick over night stay
- Steve (4/5): - ROOMS WORE OUT BED WAS BENT IN THE MIDDLE--BED SPREAD WAS STAINED OR NOT CLEAN-ROOM WAS MUSTY-
- R (10/5): - Very pleasant stay for a budget hotel.
- Celia (10/5): - This is great little motor inn of the old-school type, with actual door keys instead of key cards. It's right off I-70, so it's very easy to get to. It seems to be family-run, by a very nice young family. Lots of channels on the TV.
- Jeffrey (6/5): Place to sleep - Nothing fancy but clean.
- Lois (10/5): - Pet Friendly, had large grassy area for walking our dog.
- Karen (8/5): - Friendly staff, convenient off and on freeway. Perfect for a good overnight as we travel cross the country and back.
- James (10/5): - Nice
- Douglas (10/5): - Very quiet and comfortable. Definitely would stay here again.
- Andrea (6/5): - Too noisy
- Judy (8/5): - Property very old but room was very clean. Beds and pillows comfortable. Very nice people at check in. Would stay again.
- Michael (10/5): - Excellent value for a basic room to spend the night. It's an older property, but is clean and well maintained and they do update things when warranted (the mattresses are comfortable, the tv's are modern, etc).
The owners clearly care about their guests experience and spend time and effort to address any shortcomings of an older property. For example, the layout of the motel with external doors directly to the rooms combined with the property being very near the interstate mean that noise could be an issue for light sleepers, but the rooms have a "white noise/nature sounds" speaker device to efficiently address the potential issue. That type of attention to detail extends to every element of the property.
- Curtis (4/5): - We found 2 cockroaches in our room. There were gnats flying out of the overflow drain in the sink. We informed the staff when we checked out. He stated that a family had been in the room next to us for one week and left the cockroaches. We asked for compensation but got nothing. Very disappointed with our stay.
- Efim (4/5): - The place is old, room carpet was clean, the towels were nowhere close to being white - dirty yes! I will not stay there again. I had no choice because traveling with the dog and not many hotels are dog friendly. Thank you
- Marion (8/5): Pleasent stay - The facilities were very old, but renovated and clean. It was a comfortable stay and management was very nice.
- Roger (10/5): - Family run budget motel. They are extremely friendly and helpful if you need anything. Room was very clean, and bed was comfortable. Convenient to the interstate. Great area behind the motel for dogs to roam. Great one night stay.
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Owner was very personal and made you feel comfortable. What we expected for a place to sleep on a longer trip.
- john (8/5): - It put us close enough to where we wanted to go
- Richard (8/5): Yes, you can put lipstick on a pig - Not a franchise - this is a locally owned property I think. The office was in disarray and so I wondered about the room but I was pleasantly surprised - it was as good as a newer motel. These guys did a great job with the renovation (at least my room).
- Edward (10/5): Excellent option - Don’t expect the Ritz , but it’s a great budget alternative. Friendly staff , large room large bathroom . Excellent option to overpriced options which give nothing more .
- sharon (8/5): - Room was clean and neat. Owner was very nice. He even called to see we would be arriving so he could have the air on and the room ready. The price was good and the room very comfortable.
- Karl (2/5): - Room was not as clean as my wife deemed acceptable. Property appeared well kept, but still lacked that final touch. More a working man crash pad.
- Tamra (6/5): - This met my needs at a low cost
- Michele (10/5): - Goodn
- John (10/5): Great stay. - Nicer than your would expect for a budget price hotel. Extremely clean. Very kind owners that Personally handled the front desk and made genuine conversation so that you knew you were cared about as a customer.
- Rosemary (10/5): - The room was clean and perfect. Very friendly and courteous.
- Sheena (10/5): - Clean rooms.
- Jason (10/5): Simple, clean, comfy bed - Simple, clean room with a comfortable bed. I just stopped for a night along a cross country drive. It was the perfect stop for a good rest.
- Garyl (10/5): - Really friendly service with smile…Room was very big and clean…Location is in a nice, rural area and extremely quiet
- Carra (8/5): - While our room was clean, this property is very dated. The carpet needs to be replaced & you can feel the springs in the bed. We stayed one night, but found a different hotel for the next night. As others have mentioned, there is literally nothing at this exit except for this hotel, so make sure if you need food, you stop before you get here. If you are a woman by yourself, I would not stay here.
- Carl (10/5): Hotel 70 review - We only stayed one night, it was good
- Jolene (6/5): - Ok for the price. Located right off freeway. Front desk very personable and accommodating. Picnic table to eat outside. Outdated but expected for the price.
- Vicki (8/5): Great stay - The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. The hotel is a little dated but again very clean. The bed was comfortable and the wifi speed was great.
- Brenda (10/5): - Clean and inexpensive. Plenty of parking.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect for wut I needed
- Kenneth (8/5): - Our host was very welcoming and the bed was very comfortable. The room was very clean, but needed repainting in spots in the bedroom and bathroom.
- Jill (10/5): - The property is a nice quite, very basic motel. Nice place for a hot shower and rest after a long day of driving .
- John (10/5): Great little quiet spot - Great place, cheap and conveniently located
- hugh d (10/5): - owner was super !
- Rick (10/5): - Had a few dead spiders on floor under bed. Carpet furniture shower sink etc. older and worn.
Staff very nice and everything was clean.
- Ken l (10/5): - Nothing special about room. Inexpensive , clean, friendly staff. Very Good clean basic hotel.
Will definitely use again!
- Gloria (10/5): - Owner was very friendly and encouraged us to let him know if we needed anything.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Off the beaten path Motel - Very comfortable, clean room for an overnight stay. It’s right off the highway but a noise machine was provided, I was exhausted so I really didn’t hear much. There is nothing else off the exit so if you need munchies stop before checking in.
- Suzanne (10/5): - Very friendly staff, very accommodating.
- Becky (8/5): - Facility is dated but it was clean and staff were friendly.
- Dianne (8/5): - Smelled clean
- Clyde (8/5): - We stayed here one night on a drive from California to Ontario. Good value.
- Drake (10/5): - I was highly pleased with my stay here! The room was quiet, clean, and cozy. The staff was extremely helpful, and customer service was obviously his number one priority. Great place to rest your weary bones from traveling all day!
- Sandy (10/5): Clean - No frills but clean comfortable rooms
- Mark (10/5): - The staff was friendly and the property was clean. It was close enough to the interstate that there was some traffic noise. Also, there are no places to eat nearby. My main disappointment was the in room coffee pot had not been cleaned.
- Anthony (10/5): - The staff was very helpful
- Jason (2/5): Not so pet friendly - Booked as a pet friendly stay. My $160 stay turned into $260 because of our 2 dogs. Also got downgraded from a queen to a 2 full room because of pets. Was told room was nonsmoking yet reeked of smoke when we checked in. Room was dirty and beds were super uncomfortable.
- Carie (2/5): - DO NOT be tricked (like I was) by good reviews. We tried to check in early, nobody was there, it was deserted and CREEPY. Once in our room, there was a dirty wet washcloth left on the shower head, yucky patched walls, and pet smells. So we bailed. This is a run-down motel right next to the interstate (major road noise) in a bad location. Nowhere to eat. No refunds. Spend an extra $30 in Columbia, or you will regret it.
- Natalie (8/5): Small, clean independent location. - The room was clean. There was a hole in the bathroom wall, caused by the doorknob. There was no remote for the television when we checked in, one was provided when I went to the desk to ask. The beds were a little tired in condition, but definitely clean and freshly made. Coffeemaker, microwave and mini fridge all functioned correctly and were clean.
- Mark (10/5): Great motel value. - Motel was at a mid point in our trip to Colorado. This room had everything we needed. Comfortable bed, sound machine were great.Left key at room door and off we went.
- Sandra (8/5): - Pretty clean and updated. A relaxing sound machine was a lovely addition and helps with highway noise. Friendly front staff!
- Wendy (10/5): - It’s a family own property very friendly and supper nice we checked in a little later in the evening and it was a smooth check in. Room was clean and neat. Great selection on television channels. Was great experience thank you soo much.
- Wesley (6/5): - Do like: It had great service from the staff. They had a Gideon Bible in the room. The cleanliness was good.
What we didn't like - we had to run the fan on high to be able to get a good nights sleep. This was because the motel was so close to the freeway. There were also trains that came by.
- Cynthia (10/5): - Nice, clean hotel, family-owned. An oasis when we needed a place to sleep for the night on a cross country road trip with our cat. My priority was finding a hotel that would allow cats. Many pet-friendly hotels are actually dog friendly only. I called several hotels and found two in High Hill that would let our cat stay with us. We chose this one based on the recommendation of the first hotel I called (their credit card machine was down, so they could only accept cash - but directed us here). Good communication when I accidentally booked one of their non-pet-friendly rooms through hotels.com. They assured me they had a pet (cat!) friendly room for us, just not the one I'd booked. Easy check-in, comfortable beds, a non-smoking room, hot shower, and we didn't have to leave our pet in the car alone overnight - exactly what we needed for the night.
- Courtney (10/5): - Convenient location, friendly staff. Great place to stay, especially considering the price.
- Eric (10/5): - Very clean no frills stop
