- Henry (8/5): -
- Richard (8/5): - The room was cool when I arrived.
Breakfast was acceptable.
- Mary (10/5): I will return every year from Alaska. - Nice location overlooking water. Needs new coffee pots. 😎
- Iryna (5/5): - Friendly staff, unique property. Leaking water in the bathroom, bees in the window screen
- johnny (10/5): Good to go - Looks a little rough but was not bad at all nice breakfast bar clean rooms bathroom could use an update but still worked fine
- Kathie (6/5): - Needs to be updated, no elevator or ice machines. A/C in unit was very old and noisy. The main area was very cute and provided free snacks. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. The guy on the front desk was very helpful and pleasant to talk to
- Michael (8/5): - Easy to check in. Close to St. John's University. Very quiet. Some of the accents on the wall were just hanging by electrical wires.
- Nanette (10/5): - Always a great place to stay! Kim is always so accommodating and fun!!
- Lilia (10/5): - Friendly
- Andrej (7/5): -
- Luis (10/5): A wonderful and inviting place - easy on/off the freeway; peaceful location; friendly atmosphere. no supper facilities in the area
- Steven (10/5): - Wonderful place, great manager. Charming hotel in a small town.
- Jeff (6/5): - VERY basic breakfast. Very dated room. Window air conditioner had to run(noisy) all night on high to keep the room a bit cool.
- Khurram (10/5): - Staff was very friendly
- Uerling (7/5): - The staff was very friendly, beds were comfortable and the room was clean.
- Dinah (10/5): - The hotel matron was absolutely delightful and kind. The building, tho older is well maintained and extremely clean. The lobby has so much natural light, making breakfast a joy. The clientele was a mix of short trip folks and extended stay laborers. Very quiet and peaceful. The hotel shares a cul-de-sac with a gas station, ice cream shop, pizza parlor, subway and liquor store.
- Daniel (10/5): - Very helpful
Breakfast could be a little better.
- Donna (9/5): Superb - Easy to get to... The outside needs some work & clean all the birds nest up.
- Gary (4/5): - It was not up to the ratings submitted that I read before booking a room. The 10/10 and 8/10 ratings are totally false. It is a bit rough on the edges and is showing it’s age. I’d give it 4.5/10 rating. I would have stayed elsewhere knowing this. I don’t believe the ratings I read are true. I think they were made up to boost the numbers up. Sad
- Lisa (10/5): - The owner is friendly, accommodating and appreciative. Great experience!
- Lisa (10/5): - The on site staff pleasant and welcoming- always cleaning and working
- Janet (10/5): - A+

- Ann (10/5): - Very nice property Friendly and quiet
- Garett (10/5): Nice kinda retro exceptionally tidy place! - Was a great cozy stay!
- steven (2/5): Rundown - Place was run down in a shady part of town. We didn't get out of the vehicle because we didn't want to leave our belongings in the room while we went to the wedding or the car over night. Won't let me leave a photo.
- Carmene (8/5): - Easy to get to
- Denise (7/5): Good -
- Frank (8/5): all ok -
- Sara (10/5): - Great local place to stay
- Nadean (10/5): Exceptional - Staff was amazing she was so polite and very friendly. The room was big and beautiful The stairs lol I hate stairs
- Marsha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracey (10/5): - We really enjoyed. Very clean friendly and quite comfortable beds and pillows
- Eric (8/5): - It was basic accommodations but clean and comfortable
- Susan (10/5): - Very clean, friendly place. Mgr. was very friendly and helpful. Not real fancy, but safe and comfy. I’d definitely stay there again.
- Lionel (10/5): - .
- Nepes (1/5): Don’t book no matter what - Horrible place. Only two rooms were rented out in the whole building. The manager got drunk and started acting up
- Chris (10/5): - Proverbial Smorgasbord of Breakfast plus Snacks between Breakfasts. Older Hotel built SOLID to keep the noise down, unlike many modern ones where you can hear EVERYTHING that’s going on around you. $20 per day Pet Fee that is Donated to the ASPCA.
- Stanley (10/5): - All good
- Joseph (10/5): Recommend Highly - Older hotel but very comfortable. Our room and bathroom were very clean. Truly recommended this hotel. The manager is super niceand easy to talk with.
- Jennifer (8/5): - This is a basic affordable hotel. The staff was quite friendly and they have a lovely garden out front. The rooms are dated, but clean.
- Erica (6/5): - It is a small, older hotel and is in need of updating. The heat had not been turned on and it was cool in the evening for early October.
- Kathleen (10/5): - Everything was satisfactory . Room was clean and beds were comfortable .
- Dale (8/5): - Our stay was good.
No frills but we literally just slept there
Nice selection of snacks.
The hot shower was fantastic.
- Jerrod (10/5): - A place to sleep
- Jodi (4/5): Disappointing - The room appeared clean but there was a heavy smell of air freshener. You could smell old smoke. The smell of air freshener and the fact that the 1st thing the lady at the desk told me was that she had to fire her housekeeper because she was having sex with customers and smoking pot.
- Nanette (10/5): - Kimberly is totally amazing! She is kind, friendly and very caring!! Definitely staying next year and will make it a yearly stay for our vacation!!
- Mary (10/5): Comfortable stay - The manager went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. She was very friendly and the beds were comfortable.
- Virginia (4/5): - Not our favorite place, room smelled, carpet felt sticky and dirty, bugs in bathroom sink. Hallways smelled very strong of cigarette smoke, wifi didnt work.
- Holly (2/5): That's all - Beds were comfy .rooms were clean . Outside of facilty looked run down almost turned away even tho they already had my credit card walked in called for staff on my phone cause they were not at desk even tho they knew time of arrival. Woman at desk handed me my receipt that had already been ran for room before we even arrived never encountered that before .receipt was in with key cards folded again never encountered that before .when checking out once again had to call phone number to get clerks attention and when she answer she simply said leave keys on counter .breakfast item were gross raisins tasted old like an old house, boiled eggs pre bought like this tasted strange station just wasn't very clean .
- Matt (10/5): - It was evident that the hotel owners and staff really took pride in their business. Great customer satisfaction at a very reasonable price.
- Brent (10/5): - Mom and pop hotel
- Cheryl (7/5): Good - Location and lobby comfort No lobby restroom, charged CC upon arrival instead of discharge
- Jonathan (3/5): Poor - The room was fairly clean The room was clean but the WiFi was not working and we had no TV remote. The housekeeper was able to help us but when asked to move rooms we were told that it wasn't an option to move rooms. Although I did see multiple rooms open and unoccupied
- Rhoda (8/5): - Very friendly and accommodating personal. Very satisfied with our stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - not worth the cost, felt it was on autopilot, no one at the desk at 8:15 message on desk to call them, not available at time of check out/
- Anthony (10/5): - Clean.
- Sandy (8/5): - Staff was wonderful and friendly! Room was clean.
The only problem was being it was pet friendly, heard dogs barking early in the morning. That, however, is not a reason to not stay there. Overall was great.
- gail (10/5): - Friendly
- Frederick (8/5): - Rooms and bedding were nice and clean. The room was good, did have fridge and microwave, blowdryer, tv, but no usb charging stations and no outlets close to night stand. Very convenient location for us, didn't have to deal with the twin cities traffic. Great hosts.
- Denise (10/5): - FRIENDLY STAFF, COMFORTABLE BEDS
- Wendy (10/5): Stellar - I had a fantastic stay so very relaxing.
- Matthew (10/5): - There are new owners, who are super friendly. It’s also being renovated so some rooms aren’t available. It was easy to get to/find, the rooms were clean and comfortable, overall it was good. The AC didn’t work, definitely needs an upgrade, but for a room under $100, it was great. I’d stay there again.
- Scott (10/5): Great for a good night sleep - Great quiet comfortable stay
- Bruce (10/5): - Would stay here again when in the area.
- Lionel (10/5): - O
- Rusty (7/5): Good -
- Hatten (8/5): A great small town hotel to enjoy! - Very small hotel with all of the amenities for a hotel. Manager had the front entrance and lobby all festive with fall decor. Very welcoming and comfortable! Manager was very helpful and friendly.
- William (10/5): - I had a problem with the billing . But the owner took care of the problem very quickly.
- Tina (4/5): - Property was nicely decorated, but rooms were dirty. Walls in room were dirty, hair in beds and tub.
No front staff on property when checking in. Took 20 minutes for someone to answer number provided. Room keys and invoice were left on desk when finally got a hold of someone-not safe. No staff at desk at check-out
- Nanette (10/5): - Staying again next year. 😀
- Cristina (8/5): Avon Stay - The check in was great and the room was clean. She even gave us an upgraded room.
- John (6/5): - When we checked in there wasnt anyone at the reception desk, but there was a phone # to call, which we did. The woman who answered said she'd be there in a few minutes. We heard a room door close on the second floor, not the managers office on the first floor. As she came down the stairs, to our shock, she was wearing only a terry bath robe. I mean ONLY a robe.
The room was clean, the bed comfortable and shower head was amazing.
- Wood (5/5): Good value. Older but serviceable room. - Close to bike path No coffee in lobby at 6:00 am
- Jonathan (10/5): - Nice stay
- David (10/5): - The owner checked me in, Kimberly is a great lady!!!!!
- Pat (4/5): Bad experience - The person working the front desk was EXTREMELY difficult to work with. They say that they have a continental breakfast, it was one of the worst I ever had. They had a group of workers staying there who drank outside the entrance both nights which was fine, but walking thru the thick cloud of marijuana smoke wasn't the easiest. The bed was comfy and the room was clean, everything else about the trip sucked.
- Yu-Chin (4/5): - Close to I-94 for rest stop. Waited over 10 minutes at lobby, and called the manager on duty to find me a room. Kim is super sweet, but had to clean a room quick for me because the room she was told to be clean, was not. I almost just left, but the booking was not refundable. I hate to leave a poor review because Kim is so nice and sincere, but the entire experience is unlike any other.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - The overall experience I had was amazing. I felt safe, staff and owner were great, price was very affordable, and room was very clean. If i would ever have to be in the area again, i would definitely go there to stay.
- Karen (10/5): - Clean and safe. Had all the amenities
- Karmin (10/5): - Nice hotel for the price. The owner is very nice.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Management was very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately the bathroom was definitely in need of an update.
It was also disappointing that Wi-Fi was not available in our room.
There are approximately 15 steps to get to the second floor and with a physically challenged spouse we were unable to accept a room on the second floor that might have accommodated our desire for Wi-Fi.
The continental breakfast selections were very good!
- Howard (8/5): - Good value for the money!
- Kennedy (5/5): Other than the staff the stay was amazing. - It has a very good location and it was very easy to get to and was in a central stop for our visit. The room was very clean when we entered our hotel room. Over all the stay was very good. The front desk service was horrible. She was refusing us service because she messed up on her end of the computer and made us calling booking our selfs. When we said she booking sent her a confirmation email she refused to look at it. When we wanted to check out at 10am she was not on the property. To use the hotels internet we had to be in the lobby room because the internet did not reach our room.
- Suzanne (9/5): Perfect - Breakfast was good. Location was very good. Everything was fine
- Patricia (10/5): - Our room was very clean and quiet. The staff was wonderful. I would stay again.
- Dehart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jim (8/5): Underrated Hotel! - A very underrated hotel! Great staff and clean rooms.
- Joseph (8/5): - All good
- William (5/5): Passable - The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean and the owner was very welcoming and friendly. Hotel was listed as having free Wi-Fi, but it's not available to the entire motel. No vending machines, and ice machine is kept in the office, so not easily accessible.
- April (10/5): - Great owner. Nice property. Very clean
- Michael (8/5): - The bed was super comfortable. The room was cozy.
What I didn't like was both of the window panes were broken.
- Ruth (7/5): Good -
- Jennifer (1/5): price is ok but should be less due to horrible customer service - that it was small. the person who owns the property is very racist, very rude and highly unprofessional. There is never anyone at the front desk for help when you come in, or even after you’ve checked in. There’s no vending machine, all snacks are expired. Guest should not and do not want to hear about bedroom activities or sex life of the person checking them in. smells like cigarettes smoke typically and a lot of drug traffic. should not know that your last housekeeper used and you kept the drugs on property. would not recommend having kids stay here ever.
- Barb (1/5): Bad -
- Sandy (2/5): - They were not expecting us and we are sitting waiting to try and get into the room because the person left in charge does not know how to check anyone in. Horrible service.
- Linda (8/5): - A jewel from the past. In its day, this was a beauty and has been well and thoughtfully maintained. From the real fireplace in the lobby to the decorations, I felt I was in the north and it was very peaceful.
