  This apartment features three bedrooms, one with a queen or king bed, one room with two singles and a further small room with a single bed. Also included is a fully equipped kitchen including family sized oven, microwave, dishwasher, full size fridge with freezer compartment, tea/coffee & toast making facilities, pots, frying pans and casserole dishes, a large spacious lounge with flat-screen TV, outside decking and balcony front and back. • CD (8/5): A great spot, excellent service - Great location, with a short walk to town and the stadium. Quiet room with 2 very comfortable beds, and everything we needed. I really appreciated the excellent service - we had late check in, they proactively contacted us to check, gave us details to collect key. I liked being able to opt out of room clean for such a short stay. And the receptionist was very friendly and gave us help with directions. Limited tv channels (which was not a problem for us, just sharing info).

Also there were 5 of us and only one half rolls of toilet paper. And extra blankets would have been good there were only two.

When spoke to reception they stated that it only a small tank and you cannot have long showers or shower on high pressure. Might have been nice for there to be some information in unit about that.

Restaurants within walking distance. - We visited the hotel on a cold windy day and night in May, and we walked to a pub just up the road for a good dinner. The bathroom has the best heater for showering at night. It was the best in the three weeks we travelled. The room was called a studio, I think, so it was quite tiny, but we are tiny.

• Armstrong (1/5): The Earth Moved! - You know what you are getting from a Bella Vista. The 7.30 am wake up call due to building work directly behind the hotel. Christchurch is famous for one thing, the 2011 earthquake. So when the workmen started pil driving huge wooden posts into the earth and the motel began to shake i genuinely thought there was a quake. Went and complained, both at reception and directly to the site foreman. Disgusted to not get a full refund, but did get two nights returned to me. Found an alternative and moved by 10.00 am. Note the work was continuing for at least a week from 7 April 2026.
• Armstrong (1/5): The Earth Moved for us! - We stayed twice. Once 31 March and then returned 6 April. You know what you are getting with Bella vista. Easy walk down into the centre of Christchurch. On our second visit there was building work going on directly behind the hotel. A huge pile driver was thumping huge wooden piles into the ground. They started at 7.30am. I genuinely thought it was an earthquake, it is Christchurch after all! Disgusted to not yet get my full cost back, but we moved to another hotel within the hour. If you are reading this and you are imminently about to stay here, cancel and book somewhere else, the work continues for at least another week.

We were greeted by the manager who was so welcoming and friendly. He upgraded our stay to another unit because he was concerned the noise from some building works nearby would be annoying giving we were staying more than a night. He also helped direct us to a great place up the road for dinner. Simply excellent service and probably the most welcome I’ve ever felt at a property.
