- Ahmed (7/5): Good -
- Wendy (8/5): Very good - Such friendly staff, beautiful swimming pool and gym. Spacious room, with comfortable bed. Good location. Nothing
- Elena (9/5): Superb - Just hard to communicate in English
- Thang (6/5): - Would have given them at least 4 stars overall but my 15 nights stay was somewhat miserable. Myanmar gets very hot and humid most times. During my stay the building AC was not working pretty much throughout my stay. Walked in and it felt like it was steaming hot. Good thing my room had backup AC unit but that barely cool the room. Laundry was ridiculously priced for a piece of clothing like pant or shirt it was $2-3 which is absurd. However, front desk customer service was pleasant. Until the building AC unit is fixed, I do not recommend.
- Ashandrin (8/5): Perfect hotel to get a break away from the noise of the city with a close proximity to all sight seeing locations in Yan - Helpful staff and friendly staff. The room was exceptionally clean and neat. Great gym and swimming areas. The hotel has a grand architecture style with a quaint atmosphere. The nighttime view of the Schwedagon pagoda is stunning for the hotel room. Limited breakfast options for alternative diets at breakfast. No lactose intolerant or vegan friendly options.
- Kashif (9/5): Awesome . - Location is perfect .
Just 15 mins walk to Magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda & 10 mins walk to Kandawgyi Lake.
Staff was so welcoming, room was comfortable & they even gave us the breakfast boxes since we checked out early morning.
Overall a great experience and I’ll recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Yangon. Breakfast needs to have more options.
- Cathy (9/5): Tres bon hotel - Le calme Air cond block in the room not really well to see. Personnel at breakfast don’t speaking English ant if i want somethings
Special it’s really diur
- Kifilu (7/5): Good -
- Kifilu (7/5): Good -
- Kogilavani (10/5): Exceptional - Overall good
Will recommend my friends and family
- Jean-marc (5/5): Passable - Hotel style, friendly staff Portable air con was very noisy
- Eva-Linn (10/5): Great service and clean rooms! - Excellent service everywhere, staff were great from Reception to the dining venues. Room was clean and spacious.
- Louis (10/5): Really nice hotel. - Great place to stay, the staff are five star, I had an issue and the front desk ladies jumped on it and fixed it right away even though it had nothing to do with the hotel. All staff are friendly. The food in the restaurants was good. Restaurant staff just great. The location for me was perfect, walk out front, get a cab and be anywhere quickly.
- Beth (10/5): Wonderful Stay - Excellent stay at the Rose Garden Hotel. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help us.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfection! Caring, helpful and friendly staff, delicious food, beautiful room and fabulous common areas.
- Char (8/5): - The hotel was a nice place to stay. Was only there for 3 days. Burmese breakfast was delicious. The hotel felt like a bit city hotel. Staff were friendlym
- Samantha (10/5): Very grand hotel, perfect location! - This hotel is no joke. As two young backpackers, we felt very out of place when we walked into the lobby (in a good way, it was very grand and beautiful)! The staff are EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. The hotel is huge; it even hosts conferences. Our room was fantastic, great shower, beautiful views. The pool is one of the highlights of this hotel. It was the perfect temperature, large, with lots of chairs to read and sunbathe on. We spend alot of time relaxing here! The breakfast buffet is the other highlight. It's a full on restaurant, with everything you could ever want for breakfast. The location is very nice because it's walking distance to the Shwedagon Pagoda as well as downtown (trust me, you don't want to take cabs in Yangon, the traffic is horrific). A great way to end our three week trip!
- Colm (8/5): - I would stay again, I have no complaints everyone very friendly and helpful
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff were very friendly and polite. Good value for money.
- Peter (10/5): - The complimentary fresh fruit on a skewer around the pool was nice as was complimentary nibbles sent to our room after ordering ice for a drink.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff are probably the best I have encountered any where in the world.
- Andrew (10/5): - Impressive building
Great room
Beautiful breakfast
Fantastic staff
Can’t thing of anything I didn’t like
- Shelly (10/5): - Very nice hotel with beautiful lobby and beautiful areas to sit and relax. All the staff is extremely friendly. I received a warm welcome and a fruit basket and small flower-arrangement had been delivered to my room. Had a view to Shwedagon Pagoda, just amazing. Wonderful breakfast-buffet with great choice and attentive service. Concierge is very helpful with giving directions. Would definitely stay there again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, staff most helpful. Breakfast was great!
- Con (10/5): Amazing - This hotel is simply amazing. Excellent service, spacious and clean rooms, attention to detail second to none, and a great location in central Yangon. I would definately recommend this Hotel to anyone.
- Mary (10/5): Adventure with my college age son. - Loved this hotel. Room was great. Had 90 minute massage in spa and it was the best I’ve had in a long time. Not for the whimpy though. Staff was very attentive and gracious. I think I made a good decision in choosing this hotel. Can walk everywhere if you like walking. Next to zoo so we woke up to lions roaring and other animals waking up. Near a beautiful park. Definitely recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff were all extremely helpful, pleasant to deal with and very friendly.
- Jane (8/5): - Very close to attractions. Good hotel for city stay over.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Best place in Yangon for me, staff is kind and helpful, management seems to pay attention to details. Will be back next time for sure unless it becomes more expensive. Also position in the leafy north is pleasant and convenient. I only missed a warm whirlpool to unwind.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - There was a power failure on one night but was recovered within few 2 minutes.
It was a pleasant to stay there as the service and staff attitude were good.
Good try!!!
- BethF (10/5): - I just stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. Beautiful traditional style hotel. Luxurious rooms with all the trimmings. Rooms kept clean. Staff in all areas friendly, helpful and great service/food. Concierge good for organising cars for sightseeing and taxis, etc. Breakfast was extensive. Good range of food. Good location near Kandawgyi Lake. Would recommend a stay here. X-ray scanners for all entries to the hotel. Bonus!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff were amazing. We arrived early and they sorted an early check in. Our rooms were very comfortable and we settled in happily. The staff were constantly checking on us to make sure we were comfortable. Thank you so much. The bar and restaurant were excellent and the complimentary happy hour was fantastic.
- WongaTraveller (10/5): - The staff were amazing, particularly the boys on the front door who organised our taxis and negotiated far better rates than we ever could. A bit of a walk to the city centre
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice luxury hotel, 5 minute walk to a beautiful lake that you can walk.
The hotel is quite formal, if that is to your liking, we prefer more casual/local style.
There is a nice local restaurant across the road for dinner.
The location is not as convenient as staying Downtown (stayed at 17th Street before)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great Location, Great Hotel. Wonderful staff. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed. They went out of the way to help us , going to buy fresh coconuts n deliver it to the hotel room when my son was sick. It was a short taxi ride to the major temples and pagodas. The zoo that is rather a very nice colonial park was our beautiful green back yard. The pagoda could be seen from our window. The pool was an amazing oasis in the buzz of busy sightseeing days. And the area itself was a wonderful mix of old and new , a walk around the property gave a good idea of how the people lived. We just loved rose garden. The concierge helped us in the sightseeing with recommendations n even told the drivers where to go and made sure after we cane back that everything went well.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - good chinese restaurant at ground floor and friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly staff, clean and nice amenities. Great smelling soap and shampoo. Nice contemporary rooms and very comfortable bed.
- Georgia (10/5): Solid hotel - Good location, spacious and comfortable room, friendly staff but they did forget our wake up call.
- Teguh (10/5): Great location service and and facilities - Nice stay, good for relaxing, just nice proximity location to the main tourist area, not too close so that you can get good rest
- Russell (10/5): Top notch - Top-notch hotel, ammenities, and service
- Charles (10/5): - very good hotel to stay
- raymond (10/5): A Yangon gem! - Best hotel service experience. Warm friendly staff who go out of their way to accommodate. Fresh fruit in room. Fliers delivered on multi night stays. Excellent breakfast.
- HappyTraveler (10/5): - Beautiful hotel, conveniently located and accommodating staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing experience, great staff and beautiful hotel.
- Deepak (10/5): - The Concierge (Tun) was extremely helpful in my travels and sightseeing
- Rex (10/5): - The staff were very friendly. They even helped me with my longjyi and how to tie it propely. Love it and is my favorite hotel in Yangon!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice Hotel with great staff. Hotel Staff is very courteous & friendly.
- Phuriphat (10/5): - We got a fantastic service since we arrived until we left this hotel. Highly recommend to stay here when you guys visit Yangon.
- Timothy (10/5): A great hotel especially for the price. - A great hotel, fast efficient checking, reasonably well sized rooms, well appointed without too much clutter and the usual fight with housekeeping trying to put things back! enough surfaces to put things on too! Softish beds compared with most Asian including Bagan great shower (no bath) decent sized bathroom. Super fast WIFI and unlimited number of devices. Superb breakfast buffet (cheaper when bundled with the room) good reasonably priced restaurant for lunch dinner as there is nothing within walking distance. 2 ATM's on site. Main road out front with steady stream of taxis to hail. Yangon is a taxi (very cheap fixed price up front approx USD 1-3) city not a walking city, especially in monsoon season. Decent size pool, could do with a little help on heating during cloudy season. Staff attentive and eager to help. Hard to fault, apart from some floors have poorly identified "transitions", bathroom and main areas that could be a trip hazard and room aircon a bit undersized (they did offer to move us). Close to Main Pagoda and Downtown stayed 6 nights and would stay there again.
- KahSoon (10/5): Superb hospitality and comfortable - We stayed for 4 nights and it was an extremly comfortable stay. Rooms are well furnished and the hotel is in immaculate condition. The staff were extremely hospitable and always with a warm smile and a greeting. Special mention to Pyay Kyaw who never fail to ask us how was our stay and gave us recommendations and tips. Hotel is a short cab ride away from downtown Yangon but that also means the surroundings is quieter and much more pleasant. Would not hesitate to stay here again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a great stay thanks to the wonderful people and nice amenities. The pool was my kids favorite. The breakfasts were great and the room was very nice too. Everyone was super helpful and we will defiantly stay here again.
- Jessica (10/5): - The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was spacious and comforfable with an amazing view of Yangon's famous pagodas.
We enjoyed being able walk from the hotel to kandawgi park and lake area. The hotel staff were happy to offer advice on where to visit and where to eat.
- William (8/5): Two night Stay - Clean, quiet and convenient near city centre. Hotel staff are well trained. ATM machine at check-in lobby. Breakfast spread is good.
- Kim (10/5): - During the entire stay, it was hard because of the loud speaker sound from the temple across the street. If you are not familiar with these kinds of religious sounds, ask them to arrange a room across the road when checking in. The sound was so bad that I had to close all the windows and break at dawn.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great hotel to stay - Air con (AC) was poor, even turning to max didn't help much. Room was quiet and was able to have a great sleep.
- KAREN M (10/5): Good hotel with exceptional staff - Very good hotel in an area that is quite safe and full of locals.
- Mark (8/5): Ok - Fine but too big and impersonable
- William (10/5): Montly business trip to Yangon - Quiet, Grand Entrance and Lobby with good spread of buffet breakfast.
Rainshower in bathroom, spacious and helpful staff.
Cable TV -BBC, CNN, CNA, movies, etc
Lighting in room is dim.
- Dan (8/5): Great staff - Very comfortable, and very helpful staff.
Good quality bedding.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly Staff - Lovely place, easy to locate, not too far from the airport. The staffs were extremely friendly. Room was comfortable enough. Wifi was not too fast though, but luckily the price for the mobile data was very cheap in Myanmar. Would definitely stay with them again when I visit Yangon in the near future.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Your breakfast is top-level - Your breakfast is top-level...dim sum, sushi..mmmm.....my children just love it! And so do I!
- Kunihiko (10/5): Authentic feel. - Traditional Myanmar hotel. Everyone there was very nice and had a full of hospitality. Great WiFi, good breakfast. Will return.
- Juan (10/5): Perfect base of operations to discover Yangon - Stayed here at the end of a 14 day tour of Myanmar and had a great time winding down. The facilities are impeccable and when you come in through the main entrance you will be wowed. Entrance and reception staff is very attentive and with functional English. The pool is amazing and the breakfast is definitely one of the best we had in Myanmar. Don't let yourself be fooled when some tour agencies say that hotel conditions and standards in Myanmar are lower than in other countries... they are just trying to save a buck on their hotel selections. The Rose Garden is clear evidence that you can have a high quality property with great amenities and extreme comfort.
- David (10/5): Comfortable and convenient in Yangon. - Attractive hotel close to a lake and the zoo. Easy transportation to regular tourist sites and markets.
- Paul (10/5): Outstanding hotel - Hotel is above a 4 star. Staff aim to please. Food is great as was my room. They even come around in the evening to see if you need anything.
- Withers (2/5): Do not stay at this hotel! - Whilst here with my wife I had a significant amount of money stolen from my bag. When I questioned the manager he denied his staff took the money, there was no offer of compensation. Hotel is situated in front of a filthy drain system. When I asked for assistance multiple times they were unwelcoming and unwilling to assist. Find somewhere else to stay. Terrible hotel!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location - beautiful hotel - Within a 20 minute walk to the Sgwedagon Temple, this is a luxurious hotel. The lobby had a gorgeous tall Christmas Tree, perfect for some holiday photos. I’m sure the hotel pays attention to details like this all year round. Great staff at every station!
- Fiona (10/5): Excellent hotel, brilliant staff. - Excellent hotel with incredible staff. Our deluxe room was spacious and the bathroom fabulous. Wouldn’t bother with a balcony on reflection and glad we had room only as there are loads of great places to go downtown which is just down the road (cab ride). We didn’t explore the local area at all. You do hear the animals from the zoo in the night and like everywhere in Myanmar the workmanship is a bit shoddy (carpets, tiling) but I really recommend this place. We had a 2.00am flight home and it was brilliant to spend most of the final day relaxing by the beautiful pool.
- David (8/5): - the hotel was the noisiest place we stayed in 3weeks - earplugs in bathroom we no competition for the nightly noise. The pool view room was tiny
- Chris (10/5): Very nice hotel! - Great stay. location was nice & everyone was very friendly!
- Sonja (10/5): - Everything was good. Staff was very kind and helpful. Hotel was clean and well decorated.
Hotel was very close too many things to see and hotel staff helped arrange taxis.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Just the perfect hotel to relax, beautiful view of Shwegadon Pagoda and botanical garden. Would def recommend for couples.
- LISA (10/5): Lovely staff make the hotel - Very attentive staff - made for a lovely stay
- Andrew (10/5): Very nice hotel - Spacious rooms, very attentive and helpful staff. Good location and nice pool
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice Hotel, quite but convenient on transportation. Room facilities is nice , clean and comfortable.
But check in front is too inside.
- Yuwaraj (10/5): - Very good
- Stephen (8/5): Nice staff, not such a great outside area - Not much in the local area but the staff were excellent.
Bed was uncomfortable but the attention to detail form the staff was superb
- Melanie (6/5): Good Hotel - But noisy - Really good hotel and good location
- Verified traveler (6/5): Fair. - Very old air con, quite stuffing inside the room during the night. The hotel will need some renovation, but it is clean overall.
- Verified traveler (8/5): All service was excellent - and we had a very pleasant stay. Unfortunately there was some refurbishment going on upstairs which made it noisy during daytime. Best breakfast we had and nice cocktails.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Overpriced, not worth the money - My friend and I stayed here for two nights when first arriving in Myanmar and one night at the end of our trip. The hotel looks great from the outside, and you enter into a big impressive atrium. Rooms are attractive. However, the rooms are very dark; it's impossible to read in bed or put makeup on in the bathroom. There is a minibar in the room, but neither room we had kept anything cold, or even cool.
I wasn't impressed with the hotel after our first stay but would have given an average rating except for the room we had our last night. Our toilet didn't work. My friend and I had to go down 3 floors to use the toilet in the lobby. We reported it immediately and they said it was fixed but when we returned to the room, it wasn't. So we both had to go downstairs multiple times that evening and again in the morning. We asked, fairly IMO, for a refund. They offered us 40% and a complimentary room if we return to Yangon. Ridiculous! An overpriced room (the most expensive of our trip) and the toilet doesn't work? I've stayed in hostels with shared baths; $15/night and the toilet is right outside in the hallway. Having to go down 3 flights to use a toilet is much more than an "inconvenience" as the manager said when he refused to give us a refund.
Basically, the hotel is pretentious, with delusions of grandeur. It thinks it's a "luxury" hotel but isn't. It looks a lot better than it really is, in value or service. Look for something better.
- ANNE (6/5): convenient and clean - good position. property in need of repair and tidying up.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel - Standard of food in the hotel was very good. Preferred to eat in hotel as area surrounding hotel a bit dilapidated.
- David (10/5): Nice hotel in Yangon - We enjoyed our stay at the Rose Garden Hotel. We paid for and got a balcony room, the room was large and comfortable. The hotel was about 4 blocks from the beginning of town but also two blocks from the nearest lake, we braved walking through traffic to get to both. The pool was cool but refreshing. The breakfast was good. Some of the staff had a hard time understanding English, but we were always able to find someone who could help us out. I especially appreciate the concierge getting us an English speaking taxi driver to take us for a day trip to Bagan at the last minute. The only real negative was the stinky littered drainage creek out front, but it's only a problem if you do much walking outside of the hotel. Overall we really liked this hotel and staff and we would stay here again if we get back to Yangon.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Arriving after several days in rural Myanmar, the Rose Garden was a welcome site - lovely staff, lovely comfortable room - everything I needed
- Verified traveler (8/5): Yangon - Expensive and without breakfast
- Vitnija (8/5): Excellent breakfast and pool - Really great pool with lots of space and various depth (even 1.80 metres at one end) and lovely friendly hotel. They helped us store our bags for a day even before we were even staying there (as we were passing Yangon earlier in our trip as well). Helped us find our bus to Ngwesaung beach and the breakfast was the best we've had in Myanmar. Thank you!
- nagib (10/5): Amazing hospitality - Extremely good service by very well trained staff in good quality hospitality.
- M (10/5): Great stay at a lovely hotel - We stayed here for the first three nights of our Myanmar trip.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly, very helpful and always attentive.
The hotel itself looked a bit shabby on the outside (a pressure washer would fix about 90% of this, and pigeon spikes would deter the birds a lot more) but once you walked through the entrance way it was very fresh, the aircon hit you and everything looked clean and well maintained.
Our rooms were lovely and a very good size (balcony rooms). The minibar was a bonus and the free water was an excellent touch.
We tried all the restaurants/bars in the hotel and loved each one. The food tasted great and piano sessions mid afternoon were a lovely experience.
Any drawbacks? Well, three. 1, The music in the piano bar during the day seemed at odds with the ambience of the hotel and bar. 2, I had a gap around my balcony door that I think let mosquitos in as I woke up with a couple of bites on the last day. 3, The pool was ice-cold and could have done with a bit of heat in it. I'm not saying it needs to be bath-warm, but needs a bit of heat to take the chill off it.
Would I stay here again? Definitely. The staff and quality of hotel was great and we both said we'd stay there again.
