- Georgina (6/5): It was very friendly people running it Sherry is a fantastic person and very helpful! - It was walking distance to downtown and the pier Starbucks was close so was Taco Bell and Ralph’s I really enjoyed the peace and quiet in the night there! Nothing comes to mind
- Leanne (10/5): Low budget no problem a perfect to enjoy San Clemente! - The property is a great location and we love the staff.
It’s not the ritz but on a low budget we can enjoy the beach.
The grounds at beautiful with flowers and a big patio to enjoy.
Minutes from the beach, Starbucks and restaurants.
This is my second year enjoying the place.
The staff even remembered me. The suite had a stove that needed to be shut off due to gas leak. No harm done.
The maintenance man was Johnny on the spot.
But we didn’t care to cook anyways.
- stinalena (2/5): - The location had a bad reputation regarding safety (drugs etc.) I did not stay the booked night. Did not have time to check the reviews in advance unfortunately. Stayed at another hotel!
- Jason (1/5): DONT DO OT - Pay any extra money not to stay here. So old and dirty. Feels like a druggy hotel. You won’t get a refund. Skip it and be happier
- Thompson (8/5): -
- Ryoji (1/5): Dirty - Location It was dirty. Sheets obviously weren’t changed. There was mold on the floorboards. The shower was dingy. We decided to leave and not stay and they refused to refund us.
- Anthony (7/5): - Close to beach The lady with the scooter at the desk was so nice and helpful
- Crystal (10/5): Cozy, quiet, and relaxing - The boutique hotel offers a quiet solitude of relaxation in a nice area. It is close to the grocery story, historic downtown and the beach. The employees are always friendly and helpful. That I couldn't stay longer.

- Melissa (5/5): - The hotel is really close to downtown and the pier. The hotel is very dated and falling apart. It wasn’t very clean and left my feet and socks black.
- Eguinardo (8/5): -
- Kathi (10/5): Hippy community for the adventerous! - Close to beach, stores and local activities.
- David (3/5): - I'm well versed in "you get what you pay for" so for $100 I wasn't expecting a lot, but what was provided was subpar - like a single towel even though 2 guests were registered. Walls are paper thin - 3 young guys in a nearby room could be heard quite clearly. Thankfully, they didn't stay up much past midnight.

- Ebrahim (1/5): -
- Susan (1/5): - I think it’s unacceptable that when I tried to cancel the very day I accidentally booked, that the only response I got was that I had to call booking.com which dose not provide a telephone number published. I will not use booking.com again.
- Gonzalez (3/5): - Ubicación Tienen pulgas las camas
- Jakob (8/5): -
- Belinda (4/5): Good price for what was needed in a good location. - The location and the size for what we needed. We had a total of 5 of USA 2 adults and 3 small children. We were made to get two rooms. The problem is that the two rooms were not connected. We only needed one room with two bedrooms.
The walls are very thin and we could hear everything all around us.
- Alaina (7/5): I would not mind staying again as the price was affordable and staff was great. Will be back! - All staff was very kind and understanding. They answered any of my questions and assisted me when I had an issue with my booking. Location was ideal and in a nice area. Walking distance from a nice area. Every was super sweet. Bed was comfortable and wifi was provided. Room wasn't very clean as there was a lot of dust and dirt. You could hear a lot outside and people talking super early in the morning.
- Jonnie (1/5): - DIRTY FRIDGE, NO IRON, AC SUCKS, UGLY AF!

- Nate (4/5): dirty, old, and no effort to clean or refresh the room. - Bed was comfortable The floor throughout and kitchen, especially the fridge, weren't clean, the cement floor was sloped and weird to walk on.
The sliding door of the corner shower was hanging by 1 roller in the middle.
My wife got insect bites sometime in the night.
There was no made service during the day, no one cleaned anything or even gave us new towels. They didn't even make the bed or change the sheets. Zero effort...
- Cinthia (1/5): Just definitely not a comfortable place at all sadly because the location is great. - Honestly just the front decorations, because everything else was bad or broken or ripped or had holes and it’s extremely outdated. The room stunk so bad like in had been wets for millions of years it was a very weird smell and it didn’t go away even with a whole air freshener spray, there were bugs in the kitchen, the toilet holder was broken, the curtains had holes in them just like the sheets of the bed, our next door neighbors started watching a movie at 11pm at the loudest setting and nothing was done about it so my family and I didn’t sleep at all that night and even checked out earlier because we just weren’t comfortable nor felt safe at all and the AC window unit doesn’t even work, it was hot all night, very disappointing unfortunately.

- Angela (1/5): Ocean Boutique is a Drug Haven - Location I would rate this place with 0 stars if I could of. Disgustingly dirty! This location has rooms with homeless and drug addicts living in them and the personnel will not tell guests what is really going on. It was absolutely crazy how the place was ok in the day but once it hit 9pm all the drug addicts woke up and this chaotic behavior continued till 6 am. Office staff are only available and on grounds between 3pm and 9pm, no staff will answer any calls or available before or after this time frame. We were kept awake by door banging, drug attics pacing outside our door, physical beatings, a woman being slammed against the wall in the next room screaming and crying while her life was being threatened by her druggie boyfriend ect... We did not feel safe and we were scared for the safety of our vehicle that was parked on the street due to lack of parking. The parking lot had stripped broken down vehicles blocking the available spaces for guests. I do not recommend this hell hole to anyone.
- Beatriz (1/5): The receptionist is nice - The room they gave me was horrible, and it smelled terrible. I don't know why they rent out a room like that. Everything is horrible and smells bad, even the office. Nothing, horrible

- Jason (10/5): -
- Crystal (10/5): Cozy and relaxing stay. - Quiet little nook that is far enough away from the main street that you can't hear traffic but only a few blocks away from a Starbucks, restaurants, and grocery store. People are very nice and it's a cozy bed and breakfast vibe. Could use an extra towel or rug for the bathroom floor.
- Floriza (5/5): -
- William (9/5): - This place has always held a special place in my heart. Is it with my childhood home staff is great. Megan is awesome. Location is rage and there's definitely an interesting cast of character every time I stay I don't like being accused of things like doing drugs when somebody's met me for I don't know 30 seconds. I've given thousands of dollars to this hotel over the years and to have Leon or Hamid, sit there and try and make it so that I cannot stay there even though I've never caused a problem at least to tell is slightly ridiculous. And I watched the hotel impossible episode that have this hotel on it. I think it's time for the energy to step down and take the hotel with somebody else because it's not a tribute to your daughter anymore. I think the hotel should be turned over to people. Who actually care about the hotel and want to provide conservatives? 4c
- Jason (10/5): Helpful staff and just what I need in process of relocation - Close to everything I need
- Joseph (4/5): -
- Grace (3/5): Wouldn’t stay there again - Friendly staff and good location Not the cleanest, our window didn’t close, not very comfortable
- Lopez (7/5): It was pleasant -
- Maura (9/5): -
- Davis (9/5): -
- Aisha (3/5): - Smells like dog inside even the bed and the towel.
Few cockroaches seen.
- Boshen (2/5): 很一般 - 不太干净
- Nissim (4/5): - NOTHING ! I did not like as the unit is old ,and not remodel for at least 40 years, the Ac in the room doesn't cool the other room ,unless it's on for a few hours ,which freeze the nearest room.
- Debra (6/5): - Nothing at all in the kitchen. No plates, silver wear, cooking utensils or dish towels.
- Leanne (8/5): Eclectic quite home style affordable hotel. - The property was surprisingly well managed and maintained. A few things needed to be addressed The leak in the garden hose value was concerning due to the water trail on a slippery slope of concrete walkway. The Ac unit leaked water while in use with another water hazard.
The linens mattresses pads were as well used.
Comfortable bed and fresh shower curtains with a clean floor. Over all it was an eclectic quit stay. The patio was wonderful too. The staff was friendly and went overboard to help me while I stayed at the hotel. Shelly and Bradley were the best. Thank you. I included the didn’t like in with the like.
Mostly the need for continue the maintenance on the property for safety reasons was my concern.
I would stay again. Booking in January!!

- victor (6/5): - One very long hair in shower. Pillow was left lying on the bed. Television was on when I entered room. Needs to be somebody checking the cleaners after they have finished. Hotel needs to launder sheets properly or invest in steampress to iron sheets and pillow cases. For over $100 a night I expect pressed sheets and pillow cases. Sheets and pillow cases did not smell fresh. Musty smell in room. I suggest air freshener at the very least. Air conditioner extremely loud and next to bed. I turned off A/C to get a good night's rest. Nice tile floor. However, tile is a little weird for bedroom. Should be carpet or wood. There was a kitchen area but it was not a kitchen. No stove, no coffee maker, no utensils or dinnerware. At the very least invest in a coffee maker. Most guests expect a coffee maker. Plaster missing from areas on walls. Some areas could be painted. On plus side, receptionist was very nice. She recommended one restaurant which turned out to be good but not great. Gardens outside are nice. Place could be so much better with a little effort and some expenditure.
- Steve (10/5): -
- dashiell (3/5): I don’t recommend - Facility needs some love. The room was fine and no more , view into an alley, bathroom hadn’t been fully cleaned.
- Isabella (4/5): - The room was advertised as coming with a kitchen and it had a microwave and a small fridge. No guaranteed parking, and overall good enough to need a bed to sleep in and that’s about it. Cleaning was subpar. I knew going in the hotel was on the cheaper side but I’ve stayed in way better places for the same price. Survivable but wouldn’t stay again.
- Natalie (1/5): I left and didn’t even stay one night it was so bad. - It was old but when the white towels look gray there is a problem The sheets felt grainy with something and it was overall just completely run down.
- Artemus (8/5): - Fair
- Peter (8/5): - Following a long journey just crashed out in an inexpensive hotel very conveniently placed and headed out early the following morning.
- Jedediah (10/5): - The staff was amazing the price for Southern California close to the beach was amazing. The rooms have some wear, but were clean. The staff is professional and helpful. You want fancy go pay 300+ for the Hilton. You want comfort with budget come here. Expedia made this whole weekend stay so simple and stress free. 10/10 would recommend.
- Matin (2/5): - In our place it was very dirty, and the paint everywhere was fading also it smelt damp and just dirty in the room, me and my girlfriend stayed here and we just felt dirty inside of the place, the parking is also horrible, there is a total of maybe 8 parking spaces and if you can’t park there you have to go find somewhere on the street to park and walk 5 minutes to the hotel also one of the other things that was frustrating was the bed size, we had gotten a queen bed but when we arrived at the room, the bed was definitely like a full size bed or twin xl, would not recommend unless the prices is 20 bucks a night or something based on our experience.
- Gilbert (10/5): Almost beach front property with value - Beautiful beach area, in a neighborhood that is safe and only minutes drive to San Clemente Pier, hotel is close to water so you will have some wet walls and humidity but it's a safe clean well priced property, will stay again, plenty of on and off-site parking and very quiet, check in staff was amazing and welcoming
- kenley (8/5): -
- Kesly (10/5): The staff was awesome and took real good care of us. Especially Jimmy! - Staff was amazing
- James (8/5): - Great location. Vintage property which i appreciate its character but no money has been spent to remodel in decades. It attracts the budget minded but its less than what is expected regardless of being the lowest priced in the area.
- Hugo (2/5): Dirty room - Room was filthy and dirty. It smell like cigarettes, there was no hand soap. Bed was almost broken sheets looked dirty, lights were not working, windows curtains were on the way of the AC. We ended up leaving the place with in the first 15 minutes. Not recommended.
- Yoshizumi (1/5): Left in like 10 minutes of being in the room. It smelled bad and unsanitary. Like did not feel safe to sleep the night t - Nothing was good. So bad overall you can’t call this place a hotel. Take off your bookings.com website for the good of the public. For real!!!! Everything was bad like when you get this feeling when pulling into the parking lot. So bad overall you can’t call this place a hotel. Take off the bookings.com website for the good of the public. For real!!!!
- Lawrence (5/5): - Closeness to beach. Riffraf, hanging out in front of the hotel into night.
- Jeremie (10/5): - The staff and workers at oceana are absolutely terrific and are all good people. The property is amazing, and i extremely like the remodels of the rooms. Every one here is sweet and kind, and i highly recommended the hotel to anyone new to the area!
- Davis (9/5): -
- alicia (3/5): We didn’t stay, we chose to rent another hotel down the road. - The gentleman who checked me in was kind. We did not end up staying, just checked in and used the bathroom, but the building itself is cute. We drove by at night and it looks super cute and was quiet It’s a little run down. Pretty sure the bedding doesn’t get changed, very dingy smelling. The room right next to us had several men in it. Many meth addicts around. They kept to themselves but this is definitely a drug addict magnet.
- Mehmet (4/5): -
- Thomas (8/5): - Quaint
- Caitlyn (2/5): - We arrived around 10pm, and after checking in, we walk to our room to find our door WIDE OPEN. Looking into a dark (hopefully empty) hotel room as two female travelers was like a thing of nightmares. So we went back to the person who checked us in, and instead of getting us a new room or offering anything to remedy the situation, he said, “The rooms have to be cleaned and inspected before check in, I guess I just forgot to close the door on the way out”. If you need a cheap stay, that’s about all this place is, it’s a roof over your head and a toilet.
- John (1/5): miserable - location dirty sheets, sand on bed. did not return items left
- Ross (10/5): -
- William (4/5): -
- YESENIA (2/5): Do NOT stay here - I had one of the worst hotel experiences here. The room was dirty from the moment I walked in. The floor hadn’t been swept and there was hair all over the tub. Even though it was listed as non-smoking, the furniture was covered in cigarette burn marks. Half of the electrical outlets didn’t work. I booked a queen bed but was given a full instead. The room smelled terrible and to even check in, I waited over 30 minutes for the front desk clerk, who finally showed up looking like he didn’t want to be there at all. The parking lot was just as bad, with an overflowing dumpster that smelled awful.
Overall, this place was run down, unclean, and poorly managed. Between the false advertising, the condition of the room, and the lack of service, I would never stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
- Lisa (8/5): - Rooms are quaint. Bed was comfortable. Too much outdoor lighting, was kinda hard to sleep. Parking can be a challenge. If youre on a budget its perfect! Staff was friendly and helpful!
- Leticia (4/5): - I didn’t stay, once I got there, I knew I didn't feel comfortable staying here. I cancelled and decided to go home instead.
- Davis (9/5): -
- Richard (2/5): - OCEANEA BOUTIQUE. Didn’t expect a get a 4 or 5. Rating but certainly expected it to be cozy and clean which it was not. The bed frame to our queen sized bed stuck out to the point of being quite dangerous. We hurt ourselves quite a few times. There was no closet to hang our clothes. The room was non-smoking but between the decorative holes on the mat and on entrance to our room were cigarette butts. Needless to say, the Mat was less than clean.
One bedside light did not work.
BATHROOM: there was an old dirty looking rug by the shower WET, so we moved it away from outside of the shower. We awakened this morning to a huge puddle where the rug had been - definitely a leakage problem!
Also, we had to step over little rivulets in front of the walkway to get to our room 111 in the back.
Brooms buckets and all sorts of unpleasant things greeted us on the way to our room.
POSITIVES:
Nice hot water for a shower
The front had some nice welcoming flowers in bloom.
The employee who checked us in was very nice.
It was a convenient walk to the Main Street where we had our breakfast.
I WOULD NOT recommend this BOUTIQUE to a friend.
We were obligated to stay there for 2 nights we had paid for th 15 and 16 August. The truth is we hastened our departure from the hotel on Sunday morning because it wasn’t a pleasant experience for us. NOT A REFER TO Experience at all.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was ok enough that I stayed the 3 nights.
- Kevin (8/5): -
- caitlyn (2/5): AVOID - Terrible rude staff that weren’t helpful in the slightest and actually aggressively rude … I’d rather sleep behind a dumpster than stay there.
- Susan (4/5): - Dirty, no amenities, construction noise, garbage, dead cockroach’s, I could go on & on but won’t waste my time!
- Kevin (8/5): -
- Boyd (1/5): Never Again - Nothing The facility was not clean trash bin overflowing with trash a mattress and box spring was outside the first room that was assigned to us but we refused the room and got another room
- Steve (10/5): - Staff is great
- Steve (10/5): - Staff is great
- Megan (4/5): - The room did not appear to be cleaned well. There was hair in the sink and shower and dirt on the floor.
