Guest Reviews
- Mohammad (4/5): - There were frequent light outages, in bath once i took the shower it always stay wet due to slope issue, there were dirty bedsheet. There was no trash can in the room to throw the garbage although we asked the management to give us one, multiple times
Services were not good enough.
- Ashwin (6/5): - Overall it was just functional for my needs. However no kettle and cups or tea/coffee provided which was probably the most annoying part. The breakfast was limited but decent enough. The wifi was a bit spotty as well. The location is far to walk to the downtown but bolt is cheap, so about 10mins away
- Can (4/5): - Room cleaning and comfort is very poor. Almost cannot connect internet. Very poor breakfast.
- Kinga (2/5): Avoid due to overbooking - My check-in didn't happen. I was told there were no available rooms and sent to another (substandard) hotel. Next days I was told my six-day reservation didn't exist. Found later. Management was approved by email a few times for compensation for this kind of treatment but didn't even bother to reply. The hotel itself had many issues...
- joaquind648 (2/5): Terrible experience! do not stay in this hotel. It is nothing like the pictures or reviews. - The hotel was nothing as advertised on Booking.com, when we made our reservations.
Firstly, the hotel is listed in Booking.com as "BS Hotel", you will note a quick search on this name does not show any reviews online. Upon arrival we noted the real name is "Boulevard Side Hotel", see reviews here (https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g293934-d7721333-Reviews-Boulevard_Side_Hotel-Baku_Absheron_Region.html).
Our first night (Apr. 25) we were not given the room we requested, a double room, but were instead given two single beds and promised we would be changed the next night. The air conditioner did not work in the room the first night, although the hotel states on Booking.com that they have air conditioner. We were advised by the front desk that temperature would regulate itself-this did not occur. We had to sleep with windows open with excessive outside noise due to it being next to an auto repair workshop/gas station and main thoroughfare in Baku.
During the second day (Apr. 26) we were given the originally requested double room, however the room was visibly dirty, with garbage left in the closet and an excessive smell of cigarette. We note the hotel advertises on Booking.com as non-smoking, however the scent in the room was unbearable and the nightstands had visible cigarette burn marks. Only one ragged towel was left, we are two travelers.
The air conditioner did not work in the new room, and we were advised by the property this time that they did not have air conditioner only heater. Please note Baku is currently on summer weather.
After the second night of no sleep, we decided to move out and made a new booking on Booking.com. During the morning of Apr. 27, we advised the lobby of our decision to leave due to the poor state of the hotel and service. Regarding the air conditioner they advised that indeed it was only a heater as it had not been put into what they called "Summer Mode". Then they proceed to state we could not check out, I insisted on our decision, and they said they could change the room one more time. We declined and confirmed we would check out due to the state of the hotel.
They said they would not reimburse the remaining four nights, we insisted we would dispute this but left as the hotel felt unsafe.
We note this type of fraudulent postings are not in accordance with the regulations and standards of Booking.com. As you will note from my profile I have been a loyal customer and put my full trust on Booking.com for may years, booking for my personal and business travels as well as family travels.
I am sure they listed themselves as “BS Hotel” instead of their real name “Boulevard Side Hotel” to deceive customers into not reading the reviews available online. Definetly do not stay here.
- Fariha (2/5): - Poor hygiene and ery noisy till 6am in the morning
- Marek (10/5): - Everything was good
- Koka (8/5): - Good
- Fathy (10/5): - Good atmosphere
- charlie (10/5): Good value for the money hotel - Very nice hotel on a quiet side street but near to major boulevards. A very good value for the money. No amazing views really to speak of, but rooms are nice, clean and modern.
- 782channal (6/5): Our trip to Baku - Hotel with views of Caspian Sea ; Rooms are bit smaller but would be for the price ; restaurant staff are helpful , not much spread in the buffet , no hot water kettles available in side the room ! If you have bolt app it’s 3 manat ride to the city ! Hotel staff are trying their best to be helpful!
- Stepan (8/5): - I didn’t get a basic information of stay on the check in date.
There was strong stench of cigarette smoke in the room.
Otherwise the stuff was great.
- khan_khan122 (10/5): Super - Comfortable and clean.
+ We stayed here just one night, although we choosed small standart room, the room was very comfortable, the staffs of hotel are very kind and helpful, the restaurant has amazing Baku city view and the foods in restaurant are too delicious and fresh. İf you wanna stay in comfortable clean hotel with good location and restaurant then ı highly recommend this hotel.
- kennyannp (2/5): worst hotel - worst hotel that I visited. too many reasons:
1.) they said breafast at 8 once we come to restaurant by 8 till 820 the restaurant still close.
2.) there is no airconditioning they only have heater so we dont have any choice just to open the balcony door which mosquitos start coming in to bite us. we have lack of sleep on this.
3.) we are on the fifth floor there are always a noise coming from 6th floor. We complain many times nothing happen.
note: the supervisor talk to us and she said she will fix the ac but we stay for 7 days nothing is fixed!
dont ever book this hotel is a total waste of money!!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Average - Not bad Not very good
- faryadnba (10/5): A great place to stay - That was a great place to stay. Boulvard hotel gave us an experience of pleasure and joy. Besides, the staff - especially the reseptionists - are amazingly helpful, polite and friendly. I highly recommend this place.
- 36minas (2/5): This hotel is the worst - When I did the check in they gave me room at the 3rd floor and when I asked for higher floor they said that I have to wait for 2 hours at least to get a room while it was 3.30 pm the standerd check in time , when I entered the room it was smiling so bad and when I asked the house keeping to clean it all what they did is just opened the window and because of that I got a lot of flys in the room.
The washroom is soooo bad , the AC is broken it doesn’t cool , the WiFi keep cutting off.
The room view was so bad as it was over desolation, as shown in the picture.
The reception didn’t explain anything about the hotel or the breakfast timing or place even they didn’t give me the WiFi password.
The room is so small and the window keep doing noises because of the wind.
It is the worst hotel ever.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - My second visit to the shores of the Caspian Sea and to this hotel. They coped with my 4 night stay being split into 3 bookings (flights around the big football match meant changing plans!) Great service, helpful and friendly at all times. They even recognised my friends from the first visit even though they weren't staying there this time, and looked after their bags.
Only drawbacks were the closure of the metro branch line just up the road, so getting into centre was either longer or more expensive.
Plus my room was under some part of the kitchen where there was too much noise at times.

- robem64 (8/5): Excellent stay with great reception staff - Stayed here for the Formula 1 Grand Prix as it’s easy walking distance to the track.
Great find with well appointed room, nice bathroom with a super powerful shower and many nice touches including complimentary bottles of water each day.
Check In was very friendly and efficient and the reception staff were super helpful. Nijat, the bell boy, even went out of his way to help with a SIM card.
Enjoyed our stay here and would stay again.
Only slight negatives , we couldn’t get the aircon to blow out cold air but it wasn’t super warm. The outside can be a little noisy if you wanted the balcony doors open at night for air but not really a problem.
Housekeeping could do with being a little more friendly too.
All in all though a really nice stay.

- Gerrad2019 (10/5): Super - The property is in a good location ,the staff was friendly and helpful,Rooms are clean and comfortable this is my fourth visit to Baku and I found this hotel is the best for price and for the staff all . I advice to visit and settle down in this property..
- elnuriyev (10/5): Good location very good value for money - Very cozy and very comfortable hotel in heart of Baku )
Breakfast was tasty
Room was little bit small but very clean
I like this hotel and I want to say that this property really nice specially personal Gulasar Shirzad and another
- somewhereonearth86 (2/5): Definitely not even in Hotel category, should be a MOTEL - This has been by far the WORST hotel or like I would like to call it Motel in the world....and having said this I will mention that I travel every single month.
From the moment of arrival to the moment of early check out, to check into another hotel everything was awful.
When we arrived no one even as much as offered to help us with our suitcases, which surely we can manage very well on our own but its the mere fact that someone would offer; but not even that.
We then were checked into the room, with only one person at reception that speaks English, though luckily I speak Russian and was able to communicate with everyone else that works at the hotel. When we were helped to our room, there were crumbs on the floor as if no one had cleaned the floor at all and no one seemed to care.
When we headed out that day I asked for the directions to something and the lady at the concierge gave me the address to which was no where near to where we were going to. When we can back, she started yelling at me and said I didn't understand and told the driver the wrong direction. The customer service was simply appalling. To be yelled at on my own vacation, I was in absolute shock.
The next day they organized a trip for my friend and I, that apparently we woke up very early and then after breakfast they told us there is no tour, but they could organize a private tour for a little extra (in which they told us the price), so we agreed. On the tour what they said was included was not, and after all of it we had a massive argument over the phone that what the hotel told us wasn't the price they told them.
At this point we were ready to pack our bags and go back home. So instead, we booked the last two night at the Flame Towers (The Fairmont) and what a great decision. We were never refunded our last two night but after the worst experience in my life on a vacation it was the best decision we had made.
I warn everyone, THINK TWICE before booking this motel.
Baku is simply stunning and only a hotel like this would take away from such a great experience.
- Alexandra (10/5): Extremely kind stuff. Room is perfect. Clean hotel - Perfect location close to promenade and 10 min taxi to old city .
- susansP7060AE (4/5): Not 4 star but OK for a budget stay - Description of the hotel on its own website and comparison sites is misleading in our opinion. Air Conditioning (cool air) does not start circulating until May 15th. The hotel finally did manage to switch the cool air on after multiple complaints from other guests.
Hotel claims 4 star but in the UK it would rate 2.5 stars at best. Not particularly old building but in need of better cleaning and maintenance. Our room was very spacious though and had a couple of armchairs too. Balcony overlooking the sea.
Wi-fi available but not reliable, frequently dropping signal. Staff pleasant and polite. Hotel has great view of city from its 6th floor restaurant. Breakfast selection excellent.
Walking into the city is not an easy thing to do - Baku's roads are horrendously busy - underpasses and zebra crossings few and far between. Taxis are the best way to travel.
- Mohammad (4/5): Worst hotel i staid with - Bad service and old hotel , only one left , breakfast only 4 hot dishes.
- GHANIM (10/5): Nice hotel - Nice location
- baris (8/5): Nice small hotel. - Nice hotel but couple of things need improvement. Internet is slow and keep disconnecting. Hot water is problem in the morning. Staff says due to morning usage??? Why it is my problem? Nice breakfast and cook to order omelet is available. I used uber to and from the city and it is 3-4 manat.
- jassim (6/5): Normal hotel - Air condition not cool,no tissue in room,no bag for derty clothes, shower( weak water brosher) good bed, nice staff ,good wireless ,breakfast not changed, i hope care about my notice
- Mark (8/5): Nice hotel on outskirts of city - I stayed here for a week during the Formula 1 races. I arrived at 6am from New York and the transfer the hotel arranged was perfect. I had early check in arranged as well and my room was all set. Hotel is clean and fairly updated. Very quiet too especially since it was at full capacity for race week. No major complaints. Everyone at hotel very nice although not all spoke English too well. Overall a good stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice location. - Close to sea and big malls. But bit far to walk to city center attractions.
- Feef (8/5): Nice clean rooms - 3 nights breakfast included good wifi
15-20 min walk to city
Friendly staff
Clean rooms
