Guest Reviews
- Val (10/5): Loved it! - Such a pretty building and setting. Even only for one night, my friend and I loved our stay in the twin room overlooking the harbour! The room was beautiful and spotless! The treats were fab!
We would definitly return! Dinner das really good! Thank you. We visit Cornwall (from Plymouth)a lot and stay stay in many different hotels and BnBs ! There was nothing to dislike and Harbour Moon was beyond our expectations!

- Tavares (10/5): - I love the location. The view from the bedroom is just enchanting. We have stayed at room 4 and we loved it.
All staff is very friendly and they do make you feel welcome. The decorations in the pub are really cool and the food at the restaurant is amazing. I was very happy to see local fresh fish on the menu as this was one of the reasons I wanted to visit Looe. .
- Colin (5/5): - The location, friendly staff, Restaurant. The decor.
- Bryan (9/5): Definitely I’d stay agin - Location was great, my visit was for work, staff friendly, bed comfy… all good Blackout blind might have been nice .. not a criticism more of a suggestion
- David (7/5): Comfortable that veiw quite - Room was clean and tidy the problems were the hot tap was broken and hot water very difficult juat a little tricky to get the shower was blocked nor value for money Veiw
- Leanne (7/5): - Location Outside bathroom
- Sandra (8/5): Definitely recommend it - Location was fantastic. I didn't eat there, went to cafe that was recommended and it was very good. The snacks in room were great too. Very comfortable bed. View was great Room was abit chilly. But then the weather was cooler than expected. I should have asked for a heater
- Godwin (10/5): A very relaxing weekend away for our anniversary - Where it was situated, you couldn’t have a better view. The staff were welcoming and helpful. There wasn’t anything
- Agnieszka (1/5): - No contact with the hotel. I sent messages, tried calling, and still haven't received any answers to my questions! This isn't serious to me.
- Berenice (6/5): - Excellent location
Staff lovely
Clean
Great hospitality tray with goodies Toilet across the hall, we assumed private bathroom meant in the room. Had to make load of noise to get into the bathroom as door not fit well, not ideal at 2am
Room bit damp smelling
No breakfast
- Matt (10/5): Fully enjoyed my stay will be back for sure. - The view, the room, the food Nothing!
- Sharon (10/5): - As always the staff were very welcoming and the food delicious. The atmosphere is great..Room clean and cozy. Beds comfy. Lovely robes to use and plenty of clean towels and a big tele. Free WiFi in the bar The price has more than doubled since we first started going and the breakfast basket with homemade scones are no more. There were no little miniature toiletries now and no bin in the bathroom. No WiFi in the bedroom.
- Thea (10/5): Beautiful pub in a beautiful place. Wonderful stay with friendly staff and spotless room - Best hotel room I’ve had in a long time. The staff were fantastic. Food amazing. Location….wow!!!
Value for money for where I was. I travel every week with work in the southwest and it was so wonderful to stay somewhere spotless, friendly, beautiful and so comfy. The rooms have all had beautiful make overs. I had an ensuite room facing the sea.. if you stay away a lot, some small things are really important. This place smashed it, see my photos It wasn’t a problem for me as I’m able bodied, but you have to park up the road a bit. It’s a 4-5 min walk to hotel, just something to be aware of.
- Bryan (8/5): Lovely area, staff were very friendly - Room was very comfortable, although a bit dated. Breakfast was continental and plentiful. We could not fault the location as the view from our room was absolutely beautiful. As we were on a motorbike we picked this for the on site parking which was stated in the description, the only parking is across the bridge from the accommodation which you can only park a bike for 24 hours in, this meant that we had to move the bike a few times which was not very convenient. Parking
- Gareth (9/5): -
- Richard (8/5): Great value for money in a great location -
- Oliver (7/5): -
- Tina (4/5): Not something we would book again. - Was under the impression that parking was available at this Hotel as stated when booking,as my husband and myself have disabilities and find it difficult to walk distances, the only parking was a good way from the property and as well as this we had to pay £16 for overnight parking.
Also I thought the hotel would have a lift, the stairs to our room was very steep given our immobility was very difficult, and found the bed to be very uncomfortable.
- Ricky (8/5): -
- David (5/5): Happy - Very nice location Needs updating
- Trina (10/5): excellent - great nothing
- Ian (8/5): -
- KERRY (8/5): Brilliant four days at a comfortable and friendly accommodation. - Brilliant location, rooms very comfortable and the view was great. Staff very welcoming and friendly.
Food and drinks excellent choice and good value.
Would visit again.
- Richard (8/5): A friendly pub in an excellent location. - Room was excellent but en-suite cramped. We hadn't realised that there was no cooked breakfast. Also when we booked we said we would arrrve between 2 and 3pm. When we arrived we were told rooms were not normally available until 4pm.
- Elaine (8/5): I had a lovely stay, and will book here again 💖 - I had a view of the river, and the landlady's home made cheese scones were amazing 👏 I would have preferred an ensuite bathroom, instead of a private bathroom across the way, as a lone female I felt vulnerable walking across to the bathroom in the night.
- Andrew (4/5): Dissatisfied - No full breakfast as was expecting , poor continental bkfst , milk was stale , bkfst was apparently " complimentary " ? Poor staff interaction where Room was concerned , bathroom wasn't refreshed or towels changed , smelly bathroom from kitchen below " cooking oil " , cigarette butt's on outside of window sills! Poor decor maintenance and Fire check door stops about 25 years out of regulations? Do they have a valid Fire Chiefs Certificate ???
- John (8/5): -
- Allan (1/5): - nothing the place was truly horrible
- Donia (5/5): -
- Martin (8/5): Really enjoyed our stay here, weather although cold was sunny - Food in the restaurant was very good, wasn't doing breakfast as it was boxing day but supplied yoghurt 's, cornflakes and cheese scones. Right on the harbour in the middle of town No parking and toilet didn't flush very well
- Donna (7/5): Good value, clean nice staff, but no disabled parking - Great location No parking and bathroom not next to the room
- Richard (9/5): Clean, warm, great staff and cosy. - Wonderful young lady behind the bar, who was very busy made time to welcome me and show me to the room. I had a peaceful stay, and in the morning the main person in charge of cleaning g the hotel and rooms was also most helpful as I prepared to leave. For the room I stayed in the toilet/shower was separate. But this was a small issue.
- Polly (8/5): Lovely room with a view will return! - The location.
Fantastic christmas lights and displays everywhere!
The most amazing christmas display was at the The Salutation Inn Pub in Looe
The theme was The Polar Express
The bar and seating area was made to look like a railway carriage with Northern light displays through the carraige windows. The ceiling was completely decorated with beautifull baubles.
Fabulous food and excellent staff. The harbour Moon bar!
Alot of effort made with xmas cosy areas to sit and beautifull view through the windows but spoiled by a pool table and loud music!
Not relaxing and difficult to have a conversation!
Result empty bar!
- Claire (10/5): -
- Amanda (8/5): -
- Mari-Claire (9/5): Our room was perfect as usual and the food was amazing 😊 - It’s easy to get to and the rooms are quirky. We were left a cute little Christmas gift on this occasion - a lovely little touch! Nothing - it was all great!
- Martyn (8/5): -
- Nikki (10/5): - Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was great. Extras were really lovely Nothing
- sue (7/5): Harbour Moon great value - The view from our room was gorgeous.
I love Looe
Housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful
Room was lovely and clean . Stayed 2 nights no continental breakfast basket on the second morning so we left very hungry.
Bathroom very small .
- Mark (10/5): Absolutely fantastic, we keep returning to the same accommodation every trip. - Atmosphere, comfort and exceptional staff.
Really nice comfortable atmosphere and room. Nothing to dislike.
- clare (6/5): Great location - Location The room was very small. The bar staff were not friendly and Vaped behind the bar
- Caroline (8/5): Great and the breakfast baskit was a bonus - had a loverly time cannot find a fault
- David (9/5): - Great location, staff friendly, cute little room, the little touches in the room are great. We liked it all,
Lower score on the cleanliness due to the extractor fan having alot of fluff hanging out
- Emma (9/5): Had a lovely one night stay at the harbour moon inn. Room was clean and well equipped, bed was comfy. - Stayed at the harbour moon for one night after a Christmas party in looe. Easy check in and out. Friendly staff. Room was lovely. Well equipped with comfy bed. I thought there was parking outside but there wasn't and had to park in a public car park. Was only a 3 minute walk away though so no big deal.
- Nicola (8/5): -
- ben (8/5): -
- Paolo (10/5): Very relaxing - Friendly staff great location It was all good
- Janet (10/5): - The location was very good sheeting came on and off at set times was so cosy At time of booking didn't realise the bathroom was a Ross the landing. But robes were provided so was fine didn't like the fact that you were disturbing others while asleep
- Lewis (10/5): - I've stayed hear a few times now and can't complain about anything.. The staff behind the bar was absolutely brilliant and was funny as always when I stay. The room was perfect. Looking forward to com8bk again in the new year 😉 Unfortunately leaving to go home 🤣
- Adrian (9/5): Excellent - On the harbour Outside needed a paint
- Julian (10/5): -
- Gareth (10/5): Just a perfect get away in a gorgeous room.e would we would return in heartbeat. - Staff and location were wonderful. Food surprisingly excellent. Non-existent parking and in need of outside maintenance.
- Caroline Williams (6/5): Great location - Great location, room with a view It needs modernising, but was clean and comfortable
- Amanda (10/5): Lovely stay - I came here to scatter my Mum's ashes so stayed the night as I came down on the train. Mum was born here but wanted her ashes scattered at Talland Bay. I left a tapestry she did on Cornwall in the room as I didn't know what I was going to do with it and when I saw the view out the window I decided to leave it there. Mum has finally returned home. Loved the location overlooking the harbour. The building was old but comfortable loved all the quirky things in the bar. Staff were exceptionally good. The stairs up to the room
- Jamie (10/5): - Lovely location,very friendly helpful staff,lovely rooms.
- Clifford (9/5): -
- Jamie (10/5): - The staff were amazing and very helpful, the location was brilliant, the room was warm comfortable and very clean
- Geoffrey (7/5): - nice atmosphere and meals They advertise free onsite parking but had none when we arrived. Had to park a kilometre away in a public carpark and double park our vehicle on a busy road in front of the pub to load and unload our suitcases.
- Simon (7/5): Myself and three friends went to looe for a fishing trip, the accommodation was fine for me. - Location is brilliant and the view over the harbour is very special. Breakfast
- Kelly (5/5): -
- ian (8/5): -
- LINDA (8/5): Very pleasant and friendly staff -
- peter (6/5): Really good for the price we paid. Room just needs a bit of tlc - Fantastic view from our room of Looe river and east Looe. Basket breakfast supplied was good including milk, cereals, cereal bars and yogurts. Sunday roast was fantastic. Nigel who ran the restaurant was great. Ensuite bathroom was very small, with a very poor shower. Broken window glass needed replacing.
- Blackman (8/5): Beautiful Looe - Location was amazing Looe is a gorgeous place.
Harbour moon is right on the Harbour.
Very friendly staff. The room we stayed in room 3 definitely needs updating quite shabby but it was clean.
- Paul (9/5): - The rooms where clean and comfortable, the location was brilliant and the staff very helpful Thr tv remote wasn't working properly (thats all I could fault )
- Kathy (10/5): Great place to stay - The staff went out of their way to please. The food was excellent and the bed was comfortable. Excellent value for money 😊 Great location too, right near the bridge that takes you to East Looe and beyond... All good
- Tina (10/5): Ideal spot for a stay in Looe - We stayed at the Harbour Moon to attend a music festival on the beach. It was the perfect location. The staff were very helpful, and friendly. Once we had checked in we had a roast dinner, which was also great, before heading off to the beach. The stay was perfect for our needs.
- Di (8/5): Great location, good views from the room, comfortable bed, lovely pub. - It was in a great location with views over the estuary. Lotsof outdoor seating would have been delightful without the rain we had. Nothing
- melody (1/5): - We did not stay as we booked it with off road parking but was told there was none when we got there. This is false advertising on booking.com and we would like our money back.
- Mike (5/5): -
- Karl (7/5): - Having be out the room at 10am every morning if we wanted the room served and the breakfast box being replenish.
- Andrew (1/5): Terrible place! - The staff member who greeted me was very nice. The pub was closed with me still there, I had no running water, no replies from any call, messages, email. I request a full refund.
- Peter (6/5): Fantastic location with great staff. - Staff were lovely and friendly and it was in a brilliant location. We had a separate bathroom which would of been ok but unfortunately it was over the kitchen so it smelt of either cooking fat or fish which was very unpleasant and there was no window to open to let some air in. Heavy/loud locks on the doors so we worried we were waking other guests when going to the bathroom during the night or early morning. Only left breakfast on day 1 but we stayed for 6 nights. Half wardrobe and two draws is too little for a 6 night stay.
- Margaret (5/5): Good weather and good location - The location was very good right on the harbour near town bus stop station and beach Separate bathroom across the hall (sole use) not good for getting water or using during the night the building could do with a lick of paint Windows peeling and steamed up in the mornings not double glazed had to ask for things to be topped up (tea etc)as no-one came in on first day
- Judith Winteebourne (1/5): - A small refund Very poor service.windows need replacing as they are broken.
- Tracy (10/5): Fantastic location with lovely bar and restaurant. Comfortable rooms with personal touches. Friendly staff behind bar an - Location
Friendly staff
Nicely decorated and comfortable Nothing
- Patricia (4/5): Seriously overpriced for the condition of the property. - Location Very tired, in need of serious refurbishment.
Bedroom and en-suite very tight for space.
- Richard (8/5): Nice location close to the centre of town. - Great location with lovely view.
Complimentary breakfast tray was a nice touch. All was good.
- masters (1/5): Do not recommend - Location Wasn't family friendly if you have a young child in stroller as there are only steps going into the building and up to your rooms . Most of the staff were rude and not very helpful, extremely expensive considering you don't have an en-suite or a cooked breakfast option ,was supposed to stay for 2 nights but only stayed for 1 then went and booked up hotel just up the road from these for same amount of money and was so much nicer .
- Chris (7/5): -
- Alison (9/5): A good place to stay for a break. - Location is great, near station, beach and centre of town with restaurants, pubs and shops. My room was comfortable with a lovely view of the bay with its boats. There was a fridge with milk and a light breakfast provided in your room and a kettle with tea and coffee. One of the staff kindly went out and got me some soya milk as I am dairy intolerant, the staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of towels were provided and a bathrobe. The room was quiet with very little noise coming up from the dining room which closed at 9pm and the pub. I enjoyed my stay. I had a bathroom outside my room, over the hall. It was my own bathroom with a key but I did find it a bit of a problem personally.
- Karen (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay at Harbour Moon. The room was clean, tidy with a lovely view. Our dinner in the restaurant was delicious and our breakfast in our room appreciated. The staff were helpful, caring and attentive. We wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for having us. Great stay. Looe is beautiful.

- Stephens (7/5): -
- Dean (9/5): Stuck on you! (Elvis Presley song title!) - Despite the episode I note below, I had a most memorable experience, and the coastal scenery outside is excellent l! I have been in Looe numerous times over the years Unfortunately the system of having separate bedrooms and bathrooms with individual YALE LOCKS and swing closing doors is in my opinion very bad. Due to an unfortunate mishap in which I mistakenly took my home keys instead of the intended bunch of room/bathroom keys during my transfer to the bathroom from the bedroom at around 1 am I got locked outside, and I had to call another resident to give me the number to call the proprietor, who eventually came with a master key to gain re entry to the bedroom. The staff were most apologetic, but potentially this could have happened to anyone. Make note!
- Simon (10/5): All good - Excellent views..
- Silvana Fileva (7/5): - The breakfast was amazing There is no free parking but since I checked in at 10.30 pm I parked on the only two parking spaces in front of the inn and I had to get up at 5.30 am to move the car so the cleaners can park their cars coming at 6 am.
- Phil (10/5): Defo coming back again - Staff great very helpful and room was lovely location was spot on .defo stay there again Nothing was excellent
- Paula (6/5): Nice stay in Looe harbour moon just needs some simple TLC - Very old but ok great view Arrived
Unloaded in the parking space of landlady
Didn’t get chance to get sorted
She rushed us out of space
Ignorant lady
- Joanne (10/5): Fantastic - So close to everything Lovely
- Kirsti (9/5): Fabulous stay at the Harbour Moon! - Great location - on the harbour side. Harbour view from our window. Lovely clean room with comfy bed and fridge. Tea/coffee making facilities with biscuits. Bar and restaurant downstairs. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice pub with great atmosphere! No on-site parking but public car park a short distance away.
- Paul (8/5): A great weekend in a lovely location with old friends. - Nice clean pub in a great location.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Not having en suite was a bit of a pain , but the bathroom was very close and clean and private for my room.
- Hamilton (9/5): - Location Liked it all
- essex (2/5): Very disappointing - The view The bathroom was absolutely filthy, mould, limescale etc... Very dusty bedroom with furniture that had been hoovered around and not moved. Gained splinters opening the window. Paint flaking off the walls onto bed/clothes and floor. Fruit salad was stated in room information booklet, that wasn't there. Rock hard scone and stale cheerios, not that I could eat either due to allergies not asked about. Very creaky floorboards with a elephant staying above me.
- Darby (8/5): - Great view of the harbour from our room Room quite small
- Murph (9/5): It rained a lot. - Good room size, nice view of the harbour, although no food required they left cereal juice yogurts and milk both days.
Location was excellent. Staff were very nice and very helpful. No car parking on site but plenty of public car parks close by.
The bathroom was a nice size and very clean with all that you needed but was not en suite.
- richard (9/5): Nice place on the harbour..friendly staff and the evening meals were good. Nice place.nice room. - Breakfast was selection left in room..would prefer a proper breakfast down in the dining room.. No car parking.but was advertised as parking on site. There is a pay too park carpark nearby.
