The room was good, nothing to make complaints about - our room was quiet, it faced the inside courtyard … but mentioning coffee is for a small fee in the “lobby” , I would have preferred a softer pillow and a few amenities, I would have also preferred softer towels. Our room was small but cozy. The staff was kind, we checked in early for a small fee.

• Verified traveler (10/5): El mejor hostal - Primera vez hospedandome en un hostal y la verdad que estuvo mejor de lo que pensé. Muy limpio, comodo, espacioso. Baño privado, la chica en recepcion muy amable y cordial. Ubicacion muy buena y en general todo estuvo muy placentero. Lo recomiendo mucho y espero volver pronto a Madrid y por supuesto volveria a hospedarme en este lugar.

• François (8/5): 2 ⭐️⭐️Hostal in the center of Madrid - Nice place to stay. Very central and when you close the windows, it’s very quiet. The people are very friendly. We would be happy if they were a little frig to put are water bottles. But overall everything was OK and also the price for the localisation

• Tariq (2/5): - I had a deeply disappointing stay at this hotel in August 2025, primarily due to the air conditioning being completely non-functional. With temperatures soaring outside, the room was unbearably hot, making it impossible to sleep or relax comfortably. I informed the front desk multiple times, but the staff seemed indifferent !

• Nataliya (10/5): - The hostel is in a great neighborhood, the plaza is lively, the views are phenomenal. The building is old and unique with wooden staircase and ornate railings. There is an elevator too. The hostel is very clean with large rooms. Staff speaks English and is very welcoming. We only stayed for one night but enjoyed it.
• Jennifer (4/5): - I was traveling with my 83 year old mother. There was a step up into the bathroom and you had to step into the shower. It was not safe for her to use the shower. A suction cup grab bar was provided but it was not stable and she was worried of falling. We only had sheets on our beds when we arrived. We asked for blankets and we were told none could be provided to us. I was shocked. I was able to get one large blanket for my mother. Only after contacting Expedia was I able to get a small blanket for myself that would be suitable for a 2 year old child. All other amenities had to be paid for (small fridge and safe). The location was good but was not good value for money. I paid for a balcony that we could not sit on. Our room wasn’t cleaned in a timely manner. I would strongly recommend a hotel to my fellow travellers.

• Walter (8/5): - Staid here for my trip to Madrid. The hotel is easy to find. They have an elevator to get your luggage up to the 3rd floor where the hotel is. They share the building with other hostals. The staff was friendly and spoke English, but rather reserved. If you are from U.S. this just seems to be a cultural aspect to Madrid. The location is great. If is within 1 mile of every major tourist spot. The only downside is the hotel has marble floor so sound carries very widely and you can hear conversations in nearby rooms. It was very quiet at night however. I had a room away from the plaza and it was quiet at night. They do not have any amenities or a big lobby so it’s basically a room. The room was plain but very clean and comfortable.

Tiniest bathroom you can imagine, but it was all mine! : ) Just the right amount of room for one person (although I do think that room can be booked for 2, which would have been tight). Pretty stairway and entry area. Very safe neighborhood full of bars, shops of all kinds, and easy access to metro.

My husband asked if we could get a blanket or another sheet. He was refused. This is our first time staying at a place that you only received a top sheet and no blanket. The downstairs door to the building didn't lock.

Chose this place because the location is amazing, the price was good, the room was private and had everything I needed- and most importantly, accepts PayPal!! (No credit card) Room was clean, above average bed & nice linens, balcony overlooking Plaza de Pedro Zerolo.

• Rebecca (10/5): No frills but perfect!!! - I really loved this hotel! I stayed in a room with my 2.5 year old. It's clean, safe, comfortable, and calm. Gorgeous window with balcony. Friendly staff. No frills, but for the price , really you can't ask for more! Yes you can hear noises from the street - it's in the center of Madrid and in the gay district so of course it's party central. BUT, fortunately it's mostly just people talking and not like booming bass, and, the thick windows muffle enough of it that with my phone playing white noise on full volume and ear plugs (something I do anyway at home), I slept just fine, and I'm a light sleeper. Although, that said, I saw them setting up for a concert the day we left so there may be exceptions to this during pride week. Probably fine other times though. Minor annoying things but not big deal - shower is tiny, and the AC blew on my face where my bed was. Fortunately they gave me an extra blanket. Nice fleece throws.

• Rothangliani (6/5): - I did not know when I booked the hotel that it was a shared bathroom. My room was just OK and the bathrooms were kept clean so that was good. They did serve nice continental breakfast in the morning with a nice selection of fresh breads. They had a nice size dining room and kitchen so I could make myself a cup of tea every morning in the kitchen.

Great breakfast option for only 10€ with the hotel in front of the street. 3 min walk to Gran Via Metro Station and a diverse food options around the hostal area. The price resembles more the location rather than the services, and if you are looking for something center and medium budget, it’s worth it to stay here.
• Sara (10/5): Mucho más que un hostal - Muy por encima de la media de un hostal, la habitación modesta pero con mucho mimo decorada, la cama muy cómoda, el baño pequeñito pero más que suficiente para mi sola, fui para un concierto así que no necesitaba mucho más. A pesar de estar en mitad de chueca y en una plaza que podría ser ruidosa, nada se esto afectó al descanso en la habitación. Todo perfecto.

• Miss (6/5): - You get what you paid. It was OK for the price. It is hostal in a very good location. There is nothing particularly comfortable and there was a small window facing and internal small empty space in the middle of the building. It was like being in a cave. We weren't able to change the heating of the room and it was boiling. You could hear people in other room and noises coming from the window that we needed to keep open to be able to breath in the room.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Place is so-so - First , be clear that this is a hostal , not a hotel. The one good thing about it was the central location and Safe area. The room with two single beds was tiny even by Spanish standards. Barely any space for two small adults and two suitcases. Sitting in the toilet, my knees hit the opposite wall (!!) and I’m 5 feet tall. The tiny bathroom overall was a claustrophobic experience and no ventilation. The front desk sent me a message (good communication) that The heat (old school radiators) was not working and instructed me to pick up at the front desk the remote control for the more modern AC/heating unit .When I went to get the remote control, there was no one at the front desk , I tried twice. It was a pretty cold December night. Do not recommend unless budget is your priority.

A double room did feel small with me and my partner (bathroom especially - shower is very tight and hard to avoid flooding over side of the tub) but for a few days it was fine ! Staff cleaned our room every day and the location- right in the heart of Cheuca- can’t be beat. Helpful staff, and the hostal felt very safe. Theres also an option to buy a ticket to a breakfast buffet at a nearby hotel Which was very good. Overall I am Satisfied and would stay here again next time I am in Madrid
