Guest Reviews
- Lorna (2/5): Horrendous - Me and my partner booked this hotel as a last minute thing as we decided to go and see some family. Upon arrival, the overall hotel smelt a bit like urine. The gentleman at reception was polite enough but soon left once we'd be given our room number and codes to get in, i feel like this could have been explained better, but we were just expected to get on with it and know what we were doing.
As we headed up to our room, the sound coming from the room next door was a joke. Their television was on far too loud and no member of staff had approached them regarding it. We wanted to get our heads down but this made it extremely difficult.
Additionally to this, the overall cleanliness of the hotel was not good at all, one of the shared bathrooms had urine in the toilet and on the toilet seat/floor, our private bathroom had no working shower (ice cold), we had purposely booked a room with a private bathroom and paid more so that we didn't need to use a shared one. Also, their was only 1 towel given for 2 people and half a toilet roll.
Their was patches all over the walls, touch up jobs done, a hole in the bathroom door. There was stains on our bed sheets, which knocked me sick to be honest. Especially with the covid-19 situation at the moment. It looked as if the whole hotel just hadn't been given a thorough clean for a long time. Also, the single bed was broken, when you sat on it, you just fell in.
- Caitlin (2/5): The ‘2-star’ is quite a generous rating - Our experience staying here was bad from the off. We booked a room at 8pm to stay that night (an impromptu thing after staying in Anglesey the night previous). Once the booking had gone through it notified me that check-in was until 8pm, which seemed weird considering we booked the room after this time. We rang the hotel to double check before arriving that there would be someone present to check us in. The man who answered the phone was incredibly rude and lacked any good customer service skills. The first thing he said as he answered the phone was ‘can you just wait a minute’ (no hello), after he finished his conversation he returned to the phone and we asked whether someone would be there to check us in. He said ‘err well it depends... can you ring back in 5 minutes I’m busy’.
Once we got there we could see how run down the building was from the outside, although we wasn’t expecting much anyway given the 2 stars. As we got into the reception the man behind the counter said that we were too late to check in (this wasn’t the same man on the phone). After letting him know we booked the room after the check in time stated, he sorted us out a room. We were given our codes to get in the room and for the front door- as this was apparently to be locked at 9pm at night (it wasn’t). Therefore we automatically didn’t feel very safe considering anyone could wander in.
Our room was on the second floor, so we took the stairs up. All the corridors and doors were very scruffy/run down
- WASIM (6/5): - Bed is really uncomfortable very noisey at night lots of door slamming
- Verified traveler (6/5): - On arrival there was no one in reception after ringing the bell and knocking on windows we tried to phone the telepgone number. Then a gentleman appeared. The gentleman was very nice and showed us to our room. The room was clean but freezing . There was an electic heater on the wall so we put that on immediatly. Electric extention leads in place for kettle and heater so not kid friendly even though it was a family room. We then went to get some stuff from the car on exiting the room there was a gentleman frantically putting shake and vac on the carpet (this was not hoovered up while we were there). At the bottom of the very steep stairs there was abou 3 pushchairs. It had a feeling more of a hostel than a hotel . Breakfast was not offered or asked for. We were given a code to get into our room and for the front door as after 9 pm the front door should be locked (it was not locked at all) . But it was a cheap overnight stay so you get what you pay for.
- RHendry (2/5): - Brought my 7 year old nephew with me for a mini holiday (a night in rhyll). Kept things lighearted for him but the hotel/rm was grim. Whilst thr carpet in the rm had been hoovered all the skirting and window ledges were thick with dust. Bathroom floor dirty and also the toilet bowel were grubby. Holes in the walls, a thick layer of dust under rach bed, only 1 pillow each and no spare in the wardrobe, thin summer quilts (its mid feb) and no spare in the wardrobe (i slept fully clothed with socks on). Reception unmaned when we arrived and the same again when we came back on the evening. The most significant issue was the level of noise (people coming in as late as 4am screaming snd shouting). People with techno music blasting above us and the tv next door ridiculously loud. 1 lady was knocking on doors on our floor for a plastic bag with her little girl in tow (only a toddler). I hate to say it but i deduced that this is a flop house ( homeless people presumably placed here by the council). I didn't feel safe ive got to be honest. Just so many drunk people. I like a drink myself but.... im knacketed, still awake until after 4am. I will be asking for my money back.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The stairs were to steep. The room was up three flights of stairs and very bare.there was no curtains on the large window. There was not even a chair to sit on. The shared toilet was too far from the room down a dark corridor. There was no light bulb in the toilet. The bare wire was just hanging from the ceiling. The shower room was on the next floor down a steep flight of stairs
- Ye (10/5): Amazing thing. - It is very friendly mew inn where I ttayed there for almost 3 weeks last time. Why? You know I love this mew in with spacious room and very quiet fantastic peacful life.
- Ye (8/5): - I was happy to stay at Mews Inn.Room is clean and service is not so bad.
- Luke (6/5): Not again - I wouldn't go again , the curtains was hanging off the bar that holds the shower head in place was hanging on by a thread the room was freezing . No Radiator just a plug in heater. Thankfully the bed was comfy and covers was thick however I can't see myself returning any point soon and my fella has a similar opinion .
- Peter (4/5): Very poor hotel - The mews inn like hostel bed kept moving if you going to stay here bring your own teabags sugar milk coffee as they only give you enough for 1 drink the breakfast was poor you eat it in your room no dining room it cost £5 i tell you now i won't be staying here again very poor hotel it needs a a big make over very old the windows like been in the 60s not a happy customer
- Jo (2/5): Don’t do it - Awful like a hostel for the homeless disgusting in every way noway would I ever stay here again bed broken sink broken toilet smelly and wet not decorated cried most nights would have loved to move but only this available music loud all night hated every minute no bar or breakfast room a homeless guy was allowed to stay for free and he also said it was awful stay away
- Verified traveler (4/5): - There was a dripping tap in my room which I had to report 4 times. After which they moved me. By this point I'd 'slept' in the room for 2 nights already.
- Wayne (6/5): Not more than 1 night - Not brilliant but ok for 1 night room was small, bed was comfortable though. The sink in the room didn't have running water, shared toilet and bathroom but could live with that for 1 night
- Verified traveler (2/5): - leaking taps in the bedrooms, not cleaned before we arrived or during our stay, bedding not changed for the duration of our stay, bins not emptied during our stay, mold on the walls,no sink in the toilets? no parking unless you pay and display. no dining facilities/none offered. walls are all painted battleship grey decor is embarrassing. no disabled facilities. no lifts had to walk up 3 floors. sea view would have been nice apart from the years of dirt on the inside of the windows which was disgusting. GO STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! they had the audacity to charge over £300 for 3 nights to stay here hahahahahahah
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We booked what we thought online was a family room for 2 kids and when we got there they said it was for 2 guests! He let us stay but we only stayed for one night as felt uncomfortable. We paid £130 for 2 nights and we checked in at 5pm and left at 8am. We were in a family room kept up all night till 2 am with music blaring from above and woke up to inappropriate noises from adults ( by a family room)
- Karen (8/5): The Mews Inn - Stayed with my grandaughter, pleasant room.very clean.bedding spotless.friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Other guests ruin the experience - Room was clean, staff friendly. Other guests VERY loud early in the morning. Unable to use shared bathroom as someone had made a big mess in the toilet which they left rather than clean up or Let the staff know. Such a shame
- Jonathan (10/5): Excellent - Really welcoming great stay thanks
- Jonathan (10/5): - Really good really friendly and top quality will be staying there again without a doubt
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The doors constantly jammed, I actually hit my thumb trying to get the lock working. I went down to reception to get some help and there was no one around, even after calling for someone. The showers are not great, windows wouldn’t shut and no hot water in the en-suite bathroom sink. No light in one of the communal toilets.
