Excellent staff in particular Rita who was a font of information and very caring as my wife was not feeling 100%. An authentic atmosphere and very tranquil. - Jarred (1/5): Disappointing experience on returning visit - I previously stayed at this establishment a couple of years ago and had a very positive experience, including clean, modern family rooms and a good breakfast that was included in the rate. Based on that experience, I chose to book in here again. Unfortunately, this recent stay was extremely disappointing. The rooms I was allocated this time (Yellowood and Sunshine) or something were in very poor condition. They had damaged and outdated cupboards visible at the entrance, an unpleasant musty smell, and old carpets. The bedding and décor were also worn and unappealing, making the rooms feel neglected and uncomfortable. In contrast to my previous stay, these rooms felt poorly maintained and far below the standard I expected. In addition, the price of R220 per person, for breakfast, is excessive considering the condition of the rooms. On my previous visit, breakfast was included in the rate, which made the value for money far better than what was offered this time. The only positive aspect of my stay was the friendly and helpful staff member at check-in. Unfortunately, this was not enough to compensate for the poor room quality and overall experience. I regret to say that, based on this visit, I will not be booking at this establishment again unless significant improvements are made.

The rooms need a renovation. The unit we stayed before with the kitchen and living room was new and very comfortable. The rooms we stay now was a bit out dated. But clean and comfortable still.

- Liezel (4/5): Great for backpackers if priced lower - Friendly receptionist and central location Our unit, The "Otter" is priced as a Family Room but should be for backpackers. Surprizingly had 2 bathrooms but both was dirty and in serious need of maintenance and paint. The shower does not drain properly and is very slippery. The towels were old and ragged. No fitted sheet on beds, only bed sheets. Old worn out pillows. The carpet was dirty. The whole room was covered in dust. No fridge, no glasses or any cutlery. The curtains were poorly hanged. The room is dark and musty with a view of the washing line. We didn't opt for the breakfast because we could get a full English breakfast for half the price acroos the road. The communal kitchen appliances were old and dirty. Old scraped and burnt pans with no utencils. Tin plates and mugs. Dirty dishes in the basin. The couches were old and needed reupholstering. The braai was used as a community ash tray

Breakfast was good. the lodge is very good located. Restaurants and small shops in close walking distance. The room smelled weird. Wooden Toilette seat was more than used and broke. Super unhygienic. what does it cost to change it into a plastic seat? The night was horrible, guests were partying till 2 am infront of the rooms. We were with our Baby and couldn‘t sleep. No security/stuff who cared. We had to tell them to be quiet but didn’t help. The fridge in the shared kitchen is very dirty and unhygienic. The expirience was more like a party-Hostel stay, but for too much money.

The hosts are lovely people and extremely helpful. I felt very comfortable during my stay and would recommend this place to anyone visiting Storms River.

- Carmen (9/5): - Hospedagem simples mas extremamente bem cuidada. Fica em uma Vila muito simples e calma e tem um mercadinho ao lado. Possui um jardim muito bonito e area comum para utilizar. Escolhemos a hospedagem pela proximidade com o Tsitsikamma National Park e foi muito bom, porque está realmente muito próximo! Uma gatinha muito fofa chamada Andy é parte do staff e achei muito legal que ao chegar fomos muito bem recepcionados e recebemos um whatsapp com todas as informacoes que eram necessarias. Wi Fi funciona bem e o café da manhã é simples porem satisfatório! Unico ponto que poderia melhorar é o acesso as tomadas. Tivemos dificuldade para acessar as tomadas de energia que ficavam atras dos moveis.

- Nadine (8/5): Lovely Guest house in centre of Storms River with friendly staff & family friendly facilities. - Location was perfect to be able to walk to all activities , restaurants & pub. The staff were awesome, extremely friendly , very helpful & chatty. Breakfast was cooked to order & lots of table games for families to play.

- Wayne (9/5): Restful stop close to nature - We had a lovely overnight stay to break our long trip. The lodge was central & the staff very friendly. Parking is available on the grounds, and the breakfast was very good.
- Toni (10/5): Exceptional - All staff super friendly especially the lady at reception and Andy, the boss cat 🐈. Beds super comfortable and extra warm with electric blanket.
- Liz (10/5): Exceptional - Staff is incredibly kind and helpful - they helped us book a shuttle to hike in the national park since we didn’t have a car and held our luggage since we were leaving after check out. Breakfast was delicious and there was a shared space for cooking & a fridge.

- jocelynhadwen (10/5): Super service at The Village Lodge - From booking to checking out, the whole experience was excellent. The rooms were spacious and warm with a heater and electric underblankets. We booked the time including breakfast which was tasty, wholesome and plentiful. We would certainly stay here again!
