Guest Reviews
- Lucy (8/5): Great location - Great location, finding parking wasn’t bad although it did cost us £25 to park for one night. The room didn’t have an expresso machine as advertised and we only had one coffee each on arrival and that was it. Would have been nice to have more coffee and milk. Minor details but makes the difference. Overall though, was satisfied with the stay and location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - we stayed in room 9 and there was water running down from somewhere the whole time we stayed. Behind the Bathroom wall it seemed. I meant to mention to the staff but forgot.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Considering age of property, 1762, very well maintained. Only down side is no lift and with high ceilings on each floor, considerable number of steps spread over 4 floors, not for elderly people
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel is in a prime position, what let it down (no lift) also people coming out of the night clubs kept us awake from 2-30 till 4-00 in the morning. 😪
- Ann-Marie (4/5): Unloved, dated and too noisy - This hotel is in a great location but if you are a light sleeper then avoid like the plague! We stayed a Monday night thinking the streets at night would be quieter but no there was so much noise until 3am which kept me awake! When I mentioned this at check out I was told well Bath is a busy place - charming. The building is old and the windows are single pane (I’m assuming due to the buildings age) so probably not much they can do about outside noise but the doors are flimsy with quite a gap at the bottom which means you heard everyone going up and down the stairs and people do not realise how loud they can be especially late at night. The whole place was tired and quite dirty on the main stairs with cracks in the walls and on the stairs. We were in room 4 and lovely holes left in bathroom wall where fixtures have been taken down and no one bothered repairing. Unfortunately there is quite a pungent fish smell as you go up the stairs due to the restaurant but surely some air fresheners would not cost much. It seems this hotel relies on its location alone but I would rather stay further out than pay the price we did for a sleepless night in a rather dated and unloved hotel :(
- stephen (6/5): ⁹I - I would consider the restaurant and hotel accomodation great food and service room was comfortable and clean and would class it as an excellent3 and half establishment but not 4 star as advertised because bed and furniture need upgrading
- Leslie (8/5): Great value for price, but not a 4 star hotel. - Great breakfast & option for cocktails & food, booked 3 rooms (3 couples traveling together).
All pictures showed tub, but no tub in our rooms. Bed was not terrible but not great, could feel coils in spots & tight fit in room. NO LIFT & so mean a lot of stairs as only 2-3 rooms per floor.
Make sure to go to rooftop, beautiful view of city! No AC & as was heat wave had windows open so head street noise & sirens throughout night.
- Ian (2/5): Stay away - Rubbish ... never go there again
- Jennifer (8/5): Great weekend away - Really good.. staff nice. But a few things overall.. asked for a fan as it was hot.. said they would look and let us know.. never heard anything. At dinner we should have had 25% off for staying in the hotel and eating at loch fyne,. Didn’t get that just got the runaround and the waiter asking for his tip in cash because if we put it on a card he had to share it with the rest of the wait staff.. and breakfast as part of the stay was amazing.. but my hubby needed to get up and out.. and even though we explained he needed something quick and i could stay .. they just didn’t seem to understand.. still took ages.. however overall it was lovely and would stay again.. just not as part of eating at loch fyne.. miller & carter over the road would get our visit.. rooms are funky and cool.. nice amount of room in ours (number 2) however if you are a first time away couples trip.. the toilet is open plan and there isn’t a huge amount of privacy when it comes to natural “noises” :). Parking on the street was free after 7pm until 8am.. so we paid 6-7pm and 8-9am through an app. All very easy.. it is sooo close to everything .. bar downstairs where you check in great and staff on there were LOVELY..
- Verified traveler (2/5): - When we arrived therewas a dirty towe on the floor. The hotel smeells of the food of the restautant. It has no elevator and you have to go through vwey narrow stairs to the 4th floor with your luggage!
- Joan (10/5): Fantastic place all around - We had a wonderful trip to Bath and Loch Fyne is a fantastic hotel - breakfast was included and so delicious - it was a long weekend we were there so there was some street noise as we were on the 2nd floor but it was tolerable - location is awesome - I highly recommend it
- Jon (8/5): Great location - The hotel is in a great position in the centre of town and is very smartly appointed. The only Dow side was being so close to the night spots it was noisy at night but once we closed the windows we didn’t hear a thing. Overall a good hotel in a great part of town to explore from.
- Andrew (8/5): My stay in Bath - Good accommodation at a reasonable price.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was good enough however the thermostatic valves were jammed off in the radiators, they need to be replaced (room 4) also the taps on the bathroom sink were loose. There was a lot of road noise and people noise groin outside which could be be avoided unless since kind odd secondary glazing could be pemitted
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel is in a great location in the heart of Bath. Unfortunately, along with that goes a lot of noise in the street outside at night: the building is old, with single-glazed windows, and I had to resort to earplugs to be able to sleep. The bed is not great quality (I stayed in a Premier Inn the week before and the bed was much better there!), and the lighting was really poor - two bedside lights and hardly any other light. The staff were lovely but I would not stay here again.
- amanda jane (8/5): - Nice hotel with friendly staff. Not suitable for people who need a lift as there are lots of very steep stairs to get to the room
- Alun (6/5): Loch Fyne Hotel Bath 10.11.18 - Very expensive, but that's Bath for you! Room small and needs some redecorating. Breakfast service very slow and not good quality. Staff nice enough but really insistent about no check in before 3pm. We arrived at 2.45hrs and they were having none of it. Very difficult to park around there so ended up driving around until 3pm! No reception area to speak of so nowhere to drop off bags. All in all, wouldn't recommend
- Ronald (10/5): - This was a truly remarkable experience. The amenities are top quality and you could not ask for more friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Salvatore especially was amazingly helpful and was full of la dolce vita It is within a short walking distance of all the main attractions and is in the middle of excellent shopping. It is highly recommended to all
- Maggie (8/5): A delightful break - Staff very friendly and helpful. Room very well equipped and comfortable. Location very good for sightseeing but traffic quite heavy. Wide variety of food very nicely prepared. We really enjoyed our few days there.
- Richard (6/5): - Staff were wonderful, however had to have breakfast at another venue as staff were locked out of hotel
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice restaurant but lacking hotel - When we arrived there was no towels or soap. They front desk was so busy with the restaurant we got no answer a couple of times trying to call. The shower head was broken and actually fell on my boyfriends head while he was showering. The restaurant was very good though, the hotel is just an after thought. But very good location if exploring bath
- Lainie (8/5): - the room was absolutely fantastic - really great size and with a bath on feet. the food at the restaurant downstairs was also outstanding. service was a bit hit and miss, and our tea randomly disappeared halfway through our stay, but that certainly isn't a showstopper
- Helen (8/5): A lot of stairs - IF YOU CAN'T DO STAIRS THIS IS NOT YOUR HOTEL!
However, even out of breath I loved this cosy little boutique hotel with beatific views overy the rooftops of Bath. The breakfast menu is spectacular. The staff were lovely, we ate a wonderful dinner there too.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Should be better - Very noisy, however I understand the windows will be part of conservation area rules
Large areas of bedroom wall peeling
The flats over road can see you in the shower
Service in restaurant chaotic
Lovely breakfast and morning service excellent
- rach (8/5): Boutique hotel, brilliant location - We stayed one night in the superior room, and the hotel was lovely. Room was clean, very spacious and beautifully decorated. The street noise wasn't a major issue once it got to bed time. Breakfast was yummy and they catered for celiacs. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
- Oliver (6/5): Atmospheric hotel in the centre of Bath - Staff were uniformly cheerful, friendly, helpful, accommodating.
Food was excellent! The room was not carefully cleaned. It contained an old, rather beaten up armoire with one drawer for storage. It needed redecorating badly. Being on a main road, it was not quiet (that was the price to pay for location).
Balancing location/staff/cost, it was good value for money.
- dai (10/5): 很不错的酒店 - 总体是十分满意的,虽然语言不同,但与负责人与工作人员沟通还是很顺畅,妥善解决遇到的突发问题。
- Mr (10/5): convenient and clean hotel good venue for sites - very helpful staff elegant room and excellent restaurant attached
- Catherine (6/5): Beautiful hotel, but noisy neighborhood - The hotel was beautiful, very nicely decorated and the staff were all friendly and very helpful. Like many hotels in UK there was no lift, but that was fine. The hotel is just a few blocks away from the Abbey and Baths, and near some great restaurants. That said, it was really noisy and you could hear the music from the club both nights. Neither of us are light sleepers so it wasn't an issue, but if you're not a light sleeper you may want to avoid this neighborhood. And, there was no door separating the bathroom from the bedroom- the bath was behind the wall, but no door for privacy. Again, beautiful hotel and great breakfast, but be prepared for noise (even on a Sunday night). One suggestion for management- provide a fan for the room- it'll drown out a lot of the noise.
- leon (4/5): Very dated and noisey - This hotel is priced far to high . It is very dated , noisey and not very clean .
- Nic (8/5): Small, boutique hotel in the centre of Bath - Lovely, central location and a beautiful room. Breakfast was good and service friendly and good quality. The only real downside to the stay was the noise from the nightclub across the road which went on and on into the early hours of the Sunday morning. The website does say that they can't guarantee a quiet night, but if you like real quiet to sleep this is the one thing to be mindful of. The room itself was absolutely beautiful though. A (very minor) point being that there is nowhere to put your bits and pieces in the bathroom so everything has to go on the floor or balance on the fireplace.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent hotel in the centre of bath - really nice hotel, clean and the service was great. Would definitely recommend and the food in the restaurant was spot on!
- Nick (10/5): - Marked down neighborhood because seagulls skwaked all night! Not hotels fault although some secondary glazing would help.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful staff. Katie was the best waitress ever and made me feel very comfortable.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bad - The room was very small and the cleanliness was terrible. Bed clean. Cracked window in bathroom. Booked for two nights stayed one. When complained all that was said was sorry.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location.
Great breakfast in lovely surroundings.
Felt very private and quiet but with lots of stairs to room on the top floor.
- Stefan (4/5): Wouldn't go back - Expected a bigger room, a quieter location and more choice of food on the menu for £180 for one night!
- D. Van Acker (8/5): Nice, but not a real hotel feeling - Nice airy rooms. all the compfort you need. The only thing I was dissapointed for is that you don't get the welcome feeling of a real hotel. You have to check in at the bar of The restaurant. Before 3pm you are not welcome. The staff is still busy waiting on tables. You can leave the luguage at the bar If you are early. at 3pm they can check you in, but are still not very welcoming. It is like other reviews say. "a restaurant with a few rooms". breakfast was nice.
- Richard (10/5): Romantic Weekend Stay - This was a very comfortable and romantic stay, great room and staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic. very central and good location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful boutique hotel - This hotel is primarily a restaurant, in the sense there isn't an obvious check in desk. But do not let this put you off at all as it nearly did me! The room was beautiful and bedding was incredible. The staff were friendly and the food we had for our evening meal and breakfast was perfect! The central location is perfect for all the sights, I will be returning!
- Hungyi (8/5): - 非常好的服務與住宿品質
- Debbie (8/5): Great hotel for stay in the Town. - The hotel is a great central location for town but you do hear the noise outside at night. But you can't have it both ways.
There isn't a lift but the type of building wouldn't, but there is only 3 floors.
Great to have the option of the Loch Fyne restaurant downstairs, well worth eating there.
- Chris (10/5): Long weekend in Bath. - Good location and easy access to all facilities and attractions in Bath. Great views from the room. Restaurant on the ground floor was very good with helpful and amenable staff.
- Philip (8/5): Lovely boutique hotel in the centre of Bath - A very lovely hotel, Though if you have trouble with stairs don't book as there is no lift and it's about 100 steps to the top floor! Also, a little disappointed there was no room service, apart from that 5 stars!
- Carl (10/5): Two thumbs way up !!! - This is a charming hotel with cozy comfortable rooms. The included breakfast was made to order and delicious. Most important, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, we would definitely stay here again.
- Sophie (8/5): Boutique hotel in Bath - We loved our stay in this charming boutique hotel. As soon as we arrived we were taken care of. We had some rather large suitcases and the only downside to the hotel was there was no elevator, but the staff carried out bags up the five flights of stairs.
The room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable with quality linen. And we didn't notice any street noise when in our room.
The hotel is in the heart of Bath shops, dining and entertainment.
- Tony (6/5): Cosy rooms but noisy neighbourhood - Muslims is a small city centre hotel. It is located above a restaurant and access to check in and reception is within the bar, this is not very clear when you arrive.
My room was on the top floor of the hotel, a climb up four flights of quite steep stairs. There isn't a lift. The building is quite old although kept in good order and the rooms are very smart and well equipped, they do not have air conditioning. At this time of year it is very warm in the rooms but opening the windows is not a great option as it then becomes very noisy from the traffic and people in the surrounding bars.
The hotel doesn't provide any parking, take your chances with the on street pay and display, very expensive or take the long walk to the nearest public car park.
I did enjoy the free wifi and the bathroom shower was fabulous, comfortable bed and lovely soft towels too. It is a great location to explore Bath and you are right next to plenty of eating and drinking choices.
Just be prepared to climb those stairs afterwards!
- Miko5 (8/5): Conveniently Located - Nice hotel, helpful staff and good location. Only downside to central location was traffic noise and noise from the restaurant below.
- Verified traveler (8/5): One night in Bath - A charming little hotel, albeit no place to relax outside of the rooms. There is no lounge area, and the bar is the Loch Fyne Restaurant bar. The staff were very good, and the breakfast very tasty. The stairs to the rooms take some climbing, so best to go without heavy or big bags. There was some noise from the bar opposite and the students waiting to get into the Bump and Grind night (Wednesday, about 2300 onwards) but it died down fairly quickly.
