Guest Reviews
- Wendell (8/5): - Good
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely room with a loft. I wish I had a girlfriend to share it with.
- Andy (2/5): - Staff very unhelpful. Rooms dated, no help offered by staff. Won’t ever stay there again. Avoid! No tea, coffee no wifi.
- Michelle (6/5): - We liked the pool, convenient to walk to the beach, restaurant and bar on property but very expensive. Housekeeping was exponentially good. Down fall the toliet did not flush good had to flush many times in a row. The economy loft what Expedia recommended was not satisfying as it does not come with any wifi services so we had to update to another room.
- jocelyn (6/5): - Friendly staff, The mirror in bathroom was tarnished Lighting dim. Food was tasty.
- Siumee (10/5): - This is the perfect place for me as I was looking for somewhere quiet, clean, private beach and within walking distance to small restaurants and the airport. This is a small family run place and everyone was very friendly and helpful. The pool is very good and near Olympic size. The beach is lovely and within a couple of minutes from my room. However it is not suitable for swimming. The nearest beach for swimming is at Store Bay (10mins walk). The room is very roomy and clean but don’t expect luxury. I would definitely come back again.
- Tracey (8/5): - This property reminded me of a plantation. The feel and vibes were so relaxing. Really cute place will definately stay there again!
- Justine (10/5): - The people working there were wonderful
- Camie (2/5): - This place is a dump.
No wifi and was told that they have.
Bathroom clogged and nothing was done about it
The refrigerator was not working
The telephone in the room was not working.
Was served an expired beer from the restaurant
Cupboard doors cannot slide to open or close.
There was no tv remote for the television downstairs.
With the tv upstairs a remote was present but only showed 1 channel.
No hot water in the face basin.
Room door lock was falling off.
Shower head looks like it was never cleaned as only a few holes streamed water.
The place had a general look like it was abandoned and many areas of the compound had broken chairs, railing, etc
Not sure why this place is up for people to choose
- Cornelia (10/5): - Our stay was good, quiet, food was good ,daily housekeeping, great location
- Colin (4/5): - Lack basic amenities
- Shevon (4/5): - The management was unavailable for the entire stay. Reception staff was not accommodating. Staff left at 10PM.
The phones in the room dont work. The security latch on the door does not work. I found someone in my appartment and no report was taken. Management never spoke to me. They said that i could do late checkout then change their mind after I made arrangements. Ishmael was really nice. Manager Ms Small came around 7 and apparently left the same time because she was never available to speak with me. I paid extra to get internet, accepted the room near the trash but only got 5 stations no news. The reception complains that they are not suposed to leave their station but there is seldom anyone to help out. Please contact me anytime to authenticate my review.
- Gerard (6/5): - The loft was nice and clean. Good area to stay as it is close to airport and night life. The property itself is pretty old and outdated including the restaurant. The pool and admenities needs improving. Overall, average rating.
- Robert (10/5): - Great really enjoyed and appreciate the friendly staff.
- P. E. Dianne (10/5): - There is need for a microwave and some cutlery in the room or accessible somewhere for patrons othercthan that superb facilities for a most relaxing and enjoyable vacation.
- Michela (6/5): - The staff was really rude and dont help at all. We asked for towels as none was in the room and it was a big fuss about it.
If you stay in the economy cabin be prepare to DONT have a microwave.
- jesonia (8/5): - It was quiet and lovely and easily accessible. Although would ask for wifi access though.
- Gail (2/5): - This isn’t a resort to refer any guest. The place is in a state of disrepair. Spent the first night in a room that felt unclean. The bathroom was despicable. The room very dark and I inviting. I slept very uncomfortable. The next day staff member came to room inquire if room was comfortable, I replied in the negative. We were placed in another room somewhat improved. Overall the stay wasn’t good. I would not recommend this hotel .
- Traveler29 (6/5): - Most of the staff were nice. The restaurant was great- good food and reasonable prices. The pool was also wonderful. However, housekeeping did not change the towels. We had to go to the front desk to ask for clean towels and we got pool towels (one of which had a hole). The bed contained two flimsy blankets - not a nice comforter like what you would have expected. The shower was disappointing. Overall not terrible for the price but it’s better to spend extra and stay somewhere else.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location is great walking distance beach, stores etc... BUT no wifi at all in the rooms is a huge negative, you have to go by the pool area. Also had to leave a $100TT for the remote and you have to go to the front to borrow an iron very inconvient
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The Wifi was only available at the restaurant which was in another building so you had to go out in the rain and it rained frequently, also roaches in my room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The property is generally pleasing, and well laid out. The room is very large and includes a kitchenette and bathroom. The room was a little outdated but ok
- Amy (6/5): - No WiFi in rooms only at pool and bar
Staff unable to provide information asked for with tours and things to do.
No information provided for guest services
- Jayellekay (4/5): - Firstly, there were ants in my room and when I spoke to housekeeping, she told me to “dust if off” and it’s “no big deal”. I had to ask for the remote for the television and the front desk employee who I disturbed while she was on her phone playing a game told me I was suppose to get it when I checked in. The staff at the restaurant were more preoccupied doing whatever when I came for breakfast until I had to tell them that I would like to seated. More irons are needed and it is clear that the owner does not take pride in his facilities, poor signage and staircases look dirty and untreated.
- Kendell (6/5): Tobago lime - Property is rite on the beach but the water is to ruff to do anything there you would have to go to one of the other beaches witch is about 15 mins walking grounds are clean nice big pool no bartender at the pool dow beds are hard rooms outdated 10 mins walk to airport
- Jackie (6/5): - Likes: The grounds and scenery are beautiful, and the stay was peaceful. There is a beach at the facility but you cannot bathe there, however you can still enjoy the beautiful sunset and sounds of the wave. There is a pool, which is well kept and the bar and dining area is clean. The staff is friendly.
Dislikes: A welcoming check in process that advises guests on amenities and options would be great. My room was very poorly lit -the lights are not very bright and do not provide adequate illumination unless you sit right beneath it. There was no Wi-Fi in my room or most of the rooms and they know of this issue but made no mention online (I would not have booked had I known). The room had no TV remote - you had to pay a deposit to get one. The kitchen faucet was leaking badly and needs to be repaired because of the non stop dripping and since we are in drought season. The bathroom was poorly lit and there was sand on the floor in the bathroom when I first used it. I'm sure it would have been cleaned properly if only they could see better.
Overall the stay was ok, but I do not recommend it to others because in my opinion, the value you should get for your money is not there.
- Sally (10/5): Always a pleasure - Been staying here for the past ten yrs..
No one bothers u here...very relaxing
Always my first choice love the 3 pools...water always crystal clear...Outdoorneeds renovation but still always my first choice........... ........... ........ ................... ............ .........
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Decent room but with outdated finishings especially in the kitchenette. Toilet seat was ill-fitting. Amenities did not include a room safe or microwave. Overall, it was worth value paid.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Relaxing getaway - The location was excellent walking distance from the airport the beach
And eating places
Mini kitchen was a surprise for us
Lovely pool and restaurant on site
Only thing no wifi
- Suzanne (10/5): - Great location, close to alot of local attractions. Would have been nice to have a shuttle to airport since they are so close
- Hugh (8/5): - Our stay was good. Value for what we paid. service could have been better.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointed - The front reception didn't understand English ,was given a room which was not available the cooker was in bits. Compensation of free breakfast was given one day
- Craig (10/5): Love this place - We've stayed at this hotel each of the last 4 years. Love it! It's not fancy, but the staff is nice, restaurant is great, and the balcony is wonderful in January (when it's frigidly cold back home)! Easy walk from airport too.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Staff not very friendly. Room had a musty odour. The dishes were not clean in the kitchen. No electrical outlets in the bathroom.
- Lee & Rish (6/5): Budget hotel - Sandy Point Village is a budget hotel close to many restaurants and groceries. While there is beach frontage, most rooms were either garden view or pool view. The grounds were well kept and so were the rooms. The rooms are dated but in good condition. The staff at the hotel, restaurant etc were all very pleasant and helpful. This is a budget hotel, just that. It's not high end so don't go expecting anything fancy or upscale. But if you just want a comfortable place to rest your head with a wonderful ambience, this is your best choice. I loved the quietness of the place inspite of it being close to the airport with the occasional overhead traffic. The restaurant is really nice for breakfast though options are a bit limited.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This hotel needs to be updated especially the door locks to the rooms those keys are not trustworthy and the locks are flimsy guest would feel more comfortable, if these upgrades were made. On the plus side the food at the restaurant was very good and very reasonable.
- sam (6/5): - It was ok, I think the hotel needs a little face lift. The pool needs to be cleaned and the staff needs to be more friendly . The lighting in the bathroom need some work. The food was good, we had breakfast and that was nice. Also the staff wasn't to welcoming, they were pre- occupied doing there own thing. The garden and surrounding were clean. The locks on the doors needs a change , in our room dior it will shaking and loose. We checked out of the hotel early because we had and early flight and the deposit we made had to be left there for our other friends to pick up. The manager wasn't there to open the office.
- Alan (6/5): Bit disappointed - My biggest concern was the lack of staff training.
Rule #1 surely should be greet with a smile. No smile and the studied indifference and snail's pace of the lady at check-in would have been funny, if I hadn't been so tired. The staff in the restaurant were much more friendly, but took a couple of days of getting to know them.
Don't come here if you need internet. Wifi and internet wasn't working and the people in charge seemed to accept that they didn't know why and weren't going to make sure it was working in the future. As I was visiting for my work, this was a serious handicap. Trying to access the intermittent free public beach wifi was no substitute. I'd have stayed somewhere else if I'd known.
Fix these two problems, and I'd recommend the hotel as being a good budget hotel, nice restaurant location to watch the pelicans over breakfast fishing beside the jetty. The beach is good for sunbathing, but rough waves and jetty/rocks bit much for swimming.
On check-out, I left my bag at reception for a few hours. I picked them up and after repacking my bags for the flight, I cheerfully said "see you next time". The same lady from check-in didn't even look up from her phone to mumble goodbye. I guess she had internet access!
- Afzal (4/5): Nothing special - Reception was indifferent; rooms and facilities are old and tired and smell musty; room phone did not work; drain in shower clogged; wifi unreliable; damaged electrical outlet on wall; no TV remote
- Verified traveler (4/5): Yes it is beautiful - But needs a lot of upgrades to the place like the rooms for one and graden area
- Linda (2/5): Terrible hotel/ run down/ don't go! - When we arrived at the hotel we met Gale! Gale was the most helpful person at the hotel! Unfortunately she was off for 2 days of our stay. The other staff members did not want to even help you with any problems. This place would be a lovely hotel if it was fixed up, but they have let it go! No maintenance is being done in the rooms! First room we had, had water on the floor in the bathroom. Second room we had the water wouldn't go down the drain. We asked for a plunger, and even then it wouldn't clear. The rooms did seem clean, clean as they could be, but very dated! They claim they have hot tubs, however we went out to use them and they were cold. We asked the lady at the desk about them and she threw her hands in the air and said she has no idea she doesn't deal with that! I usually don't right about a hotel as we aren't very picky as long as it is clean and livable we are happy! But this place really needs help with staff and renovations!
- Alyssa (8/5): Great for the location and price - The facilities could certainly use some maintenance; but this is not a luxury place, as is reflected in the pricing. For what it costs, it's definitely worth it. Great location right near the water. Pool was fine - could use a new concrete coating but it was clean. We didn't eat at the restaurant but it overlooks the water. There are also two other hotels with outdoor bar/restaurants that are on each side of them on the beach. About a 10-15 minute walk into "town" where the main strip is. About a 45 minute walk to Pigeon Point Beach. They service the room every other day, not every (but I'd prefer that). If you're checking in after 10pm you have to let them know because normally the front desk is closed between 10pm and 7am. I'd stay here again.
- Stephen (2/5): Old hotel which has had no upgrading done - From the check in experience until we left our stay was interesting. An untrained reception staff fumbled her was through check in, cash deposit needed if you wanted a remote to control the TV and also if you wanted beach towels (who still does this??!!) room dark, old, smelly, aircondition filters dirty (so I cleaned it myself), no iron in the room because "we does keep them up front because the guests does keep it in their room", no food or beverage because of a function later in the afternoon (not even a cup of coffee on offer), no assistance to carry bags to room, inadequate parking facilities, tiles broken in dining hall - just a poor excuse for a hotel.
- Charlotte (6/5): - Läget perfekt, ganska enkelt men trevligt hotell och trevlig personal.
- gi (6/5): - There were water problems during my stay. Certain hours of the day the water will be locked off without any notices. Returning to the hotel from the beautiful beaches and left without water and no notices of the water being cut blew my mind. The pool was also unkept with leaves floating around. Overall the hotel was okay, not the best!
