Guest Reviews
- Sharisse (6/5): - This Property REALLY needs an upgrade. It has potential. I treated my friends for Father's Day, but I was a little disappointed that things were outdated. I would also suggest they put Microwaves in each unit.
- Diane (2/5): - Rooms were dirty, black mold in the bathrooms and kitchen.
Harassed very early on a Saturday morning to move vehicles.
No communication that Friday mornings the pool, is used by a primary school
- Richard (8/5): - Property location is perfect if you don’t have a vehicle it’s close enough to all the activities. The apartments is very spacious, building is not a new so of course it’s not perfect. But it’s good for what it is a cool apartment to relax for the time you are in Tobago.
- Antonio (8/5): Dated but has lots of redeeming qualities! - Stayed here during a recent family trip to Tobago. Despite the dated look of the suite that is in dire need of repairs and and refresh, we really loved staying here and found it very comfortable. The split level that separated bedrooms and the kitchen was a big plus. Our little boys loved the pool downstairs which they mainly had for themselves. The place just had a nice feel to it. The location was also safe, very quiet and convenient enough to walk to the beach and restaurants at Store Bay and also to Swallow's Beach. We even managed to walk to Pigeon Point Heritage Park - took us about 45 minutes which was a nice walk as soon as you left the main street. The biggest reason that will make us stay at Summerland Suites again was the service we got from the front office staff - Jennifer. She was so invaluable! The amount of times we asked her for something (turning on the water, towels, toiletries, tourist questions, taxi to the ferry etc.) she was always very responsive and helping us all with a smile. This hotel is past its prime but that can be overlooked if you get a comfortable stay with amazing service - this is what we got. Thanks to Jennifer for all her friendly assistance - we sincerely appreciate it!
- Michael (10/5): - Great location and great price
- Robin (8/5): - We stayed for a week. This is a nice budget hotel in a safe quiet neighborhood near a police station. Nice big pool 25m x 4m x 1.5m and cleaned every day. Very close to good beaches, restaurants, ATMs, Groceries and airport. Hotel is comfortable but a little dated. No microwave, coffe maker but new corelle dishes, like new fry pans, new fridge, good stove, comfortable bed, good AC, cable 32" TV in bed room, safe for valuables, big closet, maid service mid week, nice comfortable leatherette couches, patio outside with 2 plastic chairs and table. 6 Plastic loungers poolside. Host was very helpful arranging several excusions at better pricing than on internet. Would recommend as a budget friendly option in Tobago.
- Susan (8/5): It suited my purpose - The check in was very quick as usual my apartment was very comfortable i enjoyed it , and of course it was close to my events so i had ball so it suited my purpose the shower is dated need some new linen outside needs some work but as i said it suited My purpose. Close to all major pubs ,restaurant and beaches so that's a plus if you don't need to go out there's a pool on the property overall i had a great stay.
- Sasha (8/5): - Always love staying at Summerland. However, the stairs need to be lit as it is difficult to see when walking up and down to access the rooms on the top floor.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Very friendly, nice pool, clean room with all amenities and location is great for accessing beaches, restarants groceries amd downtown.
- SARAH (10/5): - Hospitality was awesome. Felt very welcomed. Pool was great. Presents just like the pictures. For the price you could can not go wrong. Hot water, air conditioner was great, appliances worked well.
- Visham (10/5): - Always enjoy my stay at Summerland! Especially the pool!
- Susan (8/5): . Great stay - Years ago i wanted to stay at this property and now I did its a little dated ,but you can tell its a beautiful property you can power wash the stairs and probably a better grounds man to maintain the outdoors .As i said the indoors dated as well but its well kept ,very spacious cant complain the host very accommodating thank you for going beyond for me great place for children ,5 minutes away beaches and night life and most of all i felt safe
- Khateidja (10/5): - Privacy
- Vera (10/5): - Amazing for couples and peaceful
- SACHA (4/5): - The property is old. I stayed here 15 years ago and they have not really made any changes since. The staff is very friendly and super helpful. Check in is a breeze. We got there in the middle of the night and they were available to check in. The rooms are clean and there is plenty of room if you are staying with a large group. But the towels were not great, the mats in the bathroom had holes and were tattered, really they were awful, the bathroom curtain was tattered and torn. The shower filled up and It was just very run down. On the upside, the AC worked well, the pool was in great shape and it is in a very convenient location. So, if you are looking for an affordable option and you are not sweating the little stuff, then go for it. It's in a great location, very close to Crown Point and the staff are willing and responsive. I would give the service A the owners just need to invest in some sheets, towels and bathmats and it would have been a completely different experience.
- Glyn (8/5): - Nice outlook friendly helpful staff.
Good swimming pool
Nice well kept garden
Availability of staff at check in not good, arrived at 1930 hrs couldn't contact property no one answered the phone. Had to bang on the reception door for 20 minutes till some live in staff came out to give us the keys
- Lynn (6/5): - Very few guests. I was the only one basically. No microwave. Bed was hard which can be ok but it wasnt very comfortable. Only the landlady speaks English But She is very Nice and helpful. Couldnt get the TV to work But I didnt care. Its quite far from the beaches. I walked but not fun when its hot outside. No grocery shops in the area, only a gas station with some products. But I am Happy I didnt see any roaches!
- Lina (10/5): Perfect place if looking for budget friendly place - Excellent place to stay. For the price it’s a real bargain. Loved location, loved the pool. Simple and a little outdated but very well maintained. Would stay again
Spacious and very green. Amazing views. Location is perfect
- C (8/5): - I booked this for my family. The photos does not do it any justice. It's actually better in real life. From the pool to the area outside and the apartment.
I wished I had stayed there myself.
Only cautious problem I had was if it was wet be very careful as you could possibly have an accident
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful property, my family and I had tons offun - It was way more than was expected at that price point. The room was clean, the property and the neighborhood is extremely quiet and beautiful, the pool is a dark color that's easy on the eyes. The host is extremely accomodating and very kind. (I'm afraid to say exactly what she did for us because I won't want other to try to take advantage of her). The pool is amazing, hot and cold water, the room is cool and it doesn't take much ac to keep it cool. The WiFi is a little slow.
- Marlene (8/5): - Love all the plants and tress on the property.
- A (8/5): - Cozy, clean, convenient and great value for money.
- Anastacia (8/5): - The location is really good, close to all amities.
The cleaning is a bit poor, however the host is really nice.
Overall good hotel, nice ambiance and will use again.
- JOEY (6/5): - Spacious, good location.
- Denyse (8/5): - If you're looking for a place to stay that you aren't spending alot of time indoors, this is your spot. It has all basic amenities and very friendly staff. They cleaned every 2 days, brought clean towels and toilet paper each time. The kitchen area has pots and utensils to use while there. Bathroom is sufficient, has toilet and shower with hand sink and big mirror. It also has an extractor fan. Air conditioned, but needs servicing (its a little loud). Full-sized bed, TV and wifi in the bedroom. An additional bunk was in the apartment I rented, and wardrobe with safe provided. Living area had huge, comfortable couch and dining table, all very sufficient. Bins provided both inside and outside. Smoke free environment with a pool area. Very quiet and close to crown point, so easy access to food, beaches and events. Parking area was covered and had space for uncovered parking. Very beautiful view. Overall, a very good experience minor maintenance would have made the space an excellent rating.
- Keron (10/5): - Check in was quick and easy. Property close to airport, gas station and grocery. Was quiet, comfortable and enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again!!!
- Zaskia (8/5): - Super safe. Forgot my car windows down for 15 hours with my car keg and belonging in the car and nothing was touched.
- Stacey-Ann Francesca (4/5): - Close to the airport
- AAKASH (10/5): - Will definitely visit again!
- Kelly (10/5): - Thank for having my Birthday 🎆 stay the best. Will sure visit again ❤️
- Arthur (6/5): - The location is great , the accommodations are dated and need updating, a microwave would’ve been greatly appreciated
- Mayantee (8/5): - I really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. The trees was amazing. The property was so homey and the grounds was well kept.
My only downside is I wish the bathroom was a bit more updated.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay immensely and didn’t want to leave.
- Raekwon (8/5): - It was a great stay for the price
- Kent (8/5): - I loved the location and the room and area is clean. However more towels are needed in the washroom and mats on the floor. Other than that everything was great.
- Vera (10/5): - It was very quite and really nice stay with friendly staff.
- Gladstone (8/5): - Location is excellent and staff very friendly.
- Dirk (8/5): - Service was good for the price and the staff was very accommodating. Will definitely visit again
- Jade (6/5): - Pros: Our stay was quiet and relaxing. The property has many beautiful trees and the landscaping around the pool was well kept. The pool itself was crystal blue and the water was very clear and clean looking. I did not smell chlorine at all.
Cons: There are no deadbolts on doors. The curtains and all upholstery have stains. Everything feels very dingy or dirty and outdated. Our room 104 smelled strongly of damp dank wood. The bedspread was super worn and pilling and very thin and rough like some prison blanket. We asked for fresh towels they gave us ragged old towels. I am an American, and those who are familiar with motel 6, this was still better than that. So overall I think this place is ok but they need to update everything and get new bedding and towels.
Oh and the large art on the walls looks VERY depressing and ugly. Had to note that but what an easy change that would be to have some good vibes instead. All of us still had a good time and for the price, we would still recommend it to others looking to come to Tobago on a tight budget. So I thank them for the low cost and still mostly pleasant stay. The place was probably gorgeous back in the day.
- George (10/5): - Walking distance to the beach. Store bay, bars and food spots.
- petron (8/5): - The pool is nice
- Kerron (8/5): - Clean and quiet area. Not too far from crown point. Always felt safe within the compound.
- Anita (8/5): - Needs a bit of ground work but it was a vacation well spent. Very accommodating with the check in and late check out.
- Nicole (8/5): - Area was very accessible, Pool was cleaned daily, Apartment was Clean and Quiet. No doors for bedrooms and Pool had no lights so you can't see if you're bathing at night.
- Andre (4/5): - The room was clean and spacious. The disappointing thing was the wifi didnt work in my room and the property needs to be cleaned from all the trees and leaves everywhere.
- Shenika (2/5): - Looks nothing like the picture, Unkept and not maintained.
- NAZMOON (10/5): - Quiet and calm surroundings, great location
- Andre' (6/5): - The grounds are not properly maintained. Almost tending to being abandoned.
- Jeffrey (4/5): Sh*thole - Didn't see a receptionist for 2 days no key for the safe for 2 days no iron for 2 days cockroach in the cutlery drawer, no cable TV which was specified no airport shuttle no guttering on the apartment roof, weeds and broken tiles around the pool I cleaned the pool of leaves every time I want to use it the Wi-Fi was also terrible kept cutting in and out all the time, the tea towels supplied were old and smelly, the oven also didn't work, no security whatsoever, so overall I would not recommend anyone staying at these apartments.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Kids enjoyed the pool. The ambience was great! The hostess was quite helpful!
- SMG (8/5): - Comfortable clean and cute.
However kitchen needs a microwave and the bedroom downstairs needs a door.
- JP (8/5): Short visit with the family - Good location, close to most amenities and beaches. Lovely property with a pool, usually very quiet. It is close to a night club so Friday and Saturday nights may be loud. We sleep through the noise though and the little one is 3. Second time here, it is useful to us because of the kitchenette. It makes preparing meals for an allergy riddled toddler easy.
There is also cable tv
- jp (6/5): Short Tobago stay - Very pleasant place close to the airport and beaches. The room was surprisingly big and well supplied with kitchen utensils to accommodate cooking.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent stay for a few days - Advertising was wrong on Expedia. Villas have no king beds and no actual doors to separate bedrooms. No privacy. I booked as 2 adults 2 kids, but it didn't go across as such. The owner expressed that this was an ongoing issue with Expedia and plans to increase the price to accommodate 6 guests. He did not charge me extra for the kids, however a total of 3 other villas were booked by my family members who all received better rates because they booked as locals. Good for families of 4 to 6 people. The 2 bedroom villa has a total of 3 queen beds, 2 upstairs in the loft and one on the main floor behind the kitchen and bathroom. Full kitchen was perfect for cooking meals, however there is no microwave to reheat. Pool looks beautiful, but is not for young kids who can't swim. No pool towels. Don't ask for extra towels because they don't want to give them out. I most likely left my towel in a family members' villa and was accused of taking it to the beach. I explained to the owner I had beach towels and didn't want his towel. Villa gates are locked after a certain time in the evening, so if your coming in late you'll have to rely on security to let you in or out. Internet goes in and out but gets decent signal in the living room and by the pool. Overall, not a bad place to stay once you know what your getting (or not getting).
