- Lori (1/5): Friends staff and Convenient, but uncomfortable and dirty. - The prices and that it was close to the hospital where I needed to go see my dad. It had an awful smell to it, the couch/ pull out bed had holes in it, the sink would not drain, and the bed was very uncomfortable. It gave you a nasty feeling staying there, we showered at the hospital because the towels they gave us were stained. We believe my daughter got impetigo from staying there and sleeping in the bed.

Please before you pay for the room make sure you like and LOOK inside the bed sheets, they got hair and some kind of sticky stuff. Smell

- Lionel (2/5): - Was shown 4 different rooms before accepting to stay in one of the rooms that was the “best” out of the bunch. Didn’t sleep in the bed, comforter had multiple cigarette burns in it, whitish oversized pillow cases wrapped around yellow pillows, dirty toilet, roaches, light fixtures taken off the wall laying on their side. AC unit was blowing but cool air would not reach the bed area. Wore shower shoes as the entire floor looked unclean and “sticky” in certain spots. With the amount of people walking around, hanging out front of other rooms, did not make for a comfortable stay and did not put my mind at ease with my vehicle out front. Do not recommend for anyone.

I heard that they have new management, maybe that is the reason, I don’t know.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Room Poor condition service p Paints chipping - The walls has a lot of holes where the toilet is, chip paints, no towels, we have to go back to the registration building for towels we were given dirty towels, the ceiling to the room has flood stain and dents.
- Edmond (2/5): Terrible experience - I had a really bad time checking in, the person at the front desk did not speak English and was not aware what to do. After about an hour was checked in, the room was terrible, the sheets had holes in them, the bathroom door lock was missing, the room smelled back and supposedly that was the last room. The neighborhood was suspect, I was exchausted but could not sleep. I checked out the next day and went to a hotel which was much cleaner and better neighborhood. Tried to reach out to management and they would not return calls and would not listen to a partial refund either.

All of the walls, tub, shower, and shower curtain were dirty in room 281 with dark spot on shower curtain. Refused to stay. Second room 261 had a dry medium yellowish orange emesis spot near the entry way to the sink. Bathtub and shower were clean. However, we advise everyone to stay away from Mount Vernon Inn in Sumter, SC.

Paint was peeling and the door looked like someone had REALLY done a number on it. 2. Rooms smell like cigarettes. 3. Unsafe - door didn't lock properly. Men yelling at me, trying to get my attention as I walked to my car. 4. Bathroom didn't have a mirror. 5. Lights didn't work. Only the lamps. Pro's: 1. Customer Service: The lady who checked me in offered to show me additional rooms to remedy the situation. However, all rooms she showed had the same issues as the first. (CS was average at best - she was not friendly)

- Blake (1/5): Will NOT DO IT AGWIN - Price. Even though it was cheap, still wasn’t worth it As soon as I arrived I was told with an attitude, we have not towels or wash clothes. So I went and bought a bath sheet and rag Walmart got back laid on the shower. Maybe an hour later I hear what sounds like my shower turning on…went to inspect and it was water coming through the seeking from the room above. Completely nasty dirty stank and water. It was pouring out soooo heaving and hard it knocked my new towel down and it was drenched within 3 min. I Walmart is now closed so now I have nothing to wash or dry myself with. Nor was I too keen on showering under a leaking light fixture anyhow. I know you’re asking, why didn’t you tell someone, well you can review my phone logs I called 3-4 times with no answer. It would ring for 2 min then someone would just disconnect. I sent an email bc the mailbox was full. And still sent an email to have someone call me. That never happened. So I was unable to sleep between the waterfall form the ceiling the burn holes in the drapes, I didn’t have a good night and again…despite the way low price nobody should be subject to stay somewhere like that.

The location offers no towels or washcloths to use the shower. The shower was in disrepair. There were roaches in the room. The furniture was dirty. The staff was mediocre and not welcoming

- LaDonna (4/5): Nope! Don’t do it! - Was a late arrival checking in at 1230.. was 1 am by the time I got a room and the first room the door frame was busted and the door wouldn’t close all the way. Got rooms changed and it wasn’t much better. The pictures online must be from 20 years ago. No towels or wash rags in the room nor are there any available. If it had not been so late and I had not drove all night I would have left. I had to sleep with protection on the pillow because a guy was watching me during check in and during the change of rooms. If you are a female traveling alone or with kids I highly recommend not staying here if you are arriving late. Only positive thing was the rate was reasonable. But it’s true you get what you pay for.

What kind of hotel doesn't have towels and wash clothes? This was the absolute worste hotel stay of my 49 years of living. The rooms were filthy. The sheets and blankets were not clean. The door would not lock. I request a refund and was told that i couldnt get one. I requested another room and that room was just as bad. The bathroom floor was floodedbecause of bad plumbing. Carpet is mad filthy, roaches crawling, pull back sheets down to the mattress just to found bedbugs, smells like a lot of smoke, no towels, no washcloths, with a bunch of crackheads walking around‼️ Charging my credit card $61.60. Refund me double back‼️
