Guest Reviews
- Ilsia (10/5): Nice place but not luxurious. - It was wonderful for privacy, quietness, and relaxing. We saw no staff and that was ok with us. Dated interior but comfortable.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Did not stay there. Would not recommend this property for a vacation. Unattractive property. Waited over 5 hours for property manager to call.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Property off the Beaten Track - Nice quiet place to stay. Very roomy apartmen. The onsite manager was very accommodating . t
- KENNETH (8/5): - NOT PRETTY BUT JUST FINE FOR WORK CREW OR FISHING TRIP
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great place - Great convienance in relation to Bahia Honda state park one of the very best places to swim and relax on the keys
- Luis (8/5): Overall great - Stay was great the only thing that could maybe be updated are the TV's and decor but other than that it was great experience for me and my family you're about 19 minutes away from Bahia Honda and 45 minutes from key West
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean, quiet area. - Love the quiet residential area, great offshore breeze both in the front & back porch. Apartment is on the second floor and has a great view. Two bedrooms with accomodations to comfortably keep a family/friends of six easily.
- ivan (4/5): Has potential...... - Check in was great! had a note telling me where to find the key, the property manager was a doll! so gracious and kind. This is a great place for peace and quiet. If you want a pool and amenities, keep on looking.
This is a very very old, outdated typical keys cement/stilt house. It backs up to a beautiful deep water canal, tons of fish and wildlife are everywhere. Street was clean and friendly.
Now to the inside..... once you walk up the creaky, sun worn stairs, that may or may not hold you and your belongings, you enter the very spacious area with a 2 bedroom setup.
Amenities/appliances: I truly have not seen these types of televisions in over 10 years. They are the box type. They do have cable in every room, on each of this old dinosaur t.v.s. which is a plus. There is ample storage for the big packers, a refrigerator, microwave, as well as pots, pans, dishes and utensils for cooking.
The microwave was very rusty and old. The day beds in the main room were made, very cute tropical deco, however, the pillows and mattresses were old and stained ( there is a Bells outlet about 2 miles away, I priced pillows at 4 bucks...just saying).
the carpet was atrocious, it looked like a pot of coffee was flung on it just before we got there.
This place could be worth its 200+ price a night with just some cosmetic touch ups. PAINT PAINT PAINT!! new pillows/mattresses, new flat screens and new flooring. Sweet place, just run down
- K (2/5): Horrible, Horrible,Horrible!! Stay away! - Rude staff. Horrible old man who runs the place. I can't begin to explain how bad this place is!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Not good!
I'm not sure why or how this place was advertised as a hotel? It's half of a duplex in the middle of nowhere. I ran out of hot water less than five minutes into a shower, no toiletries were provided, not even a coffee filter for the coffee pot let alone any coffee.
When we arrived she told me that her credit card machine was down and that we should pay cash for the second night, seemed a little fishy. Yet when I called to ask to cancel the second night because we were so unhappy, I was told that she couldn't do that because if the two night minimum and my card was charged almost instantly.
The place was rundown and gross. Out dated and the TV (which was at least a 20 year old tube TV) turned itself on in the middle of the night both nights. Creepy. I get that it's they Keys and that it's supposed to be "a little funky" but this was just insulting. I can't believe I paid almost $500 to stay in that dump for two nights. It was my Christmas present to my mom and I was humiliated for taking her there.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The apartment is VERY basic. Good place to eat breakfast, go out for the day, and come back to sleep. If you need a place to sleep and shower it works.
- Brian (8/5): Nice Quiet location centrally located - Quiet place overlooking a wetlands of the wildlife refuge. centrally located for snorkeling trips, birding, and trips to Key West. Grocery store, restaurants only a few minutes away.
- Alice (10/5): Nice accommodations in a quiet location - We stayed at Ed and Ellen's (#4) for a few days while diving in the Keys. Rachel, the manager, was amazingly kind and easy going. There is a grocery store nearby as well as numerous restaurants but we chose to cook most nights and the kitchen had most of what we needed. Key deer came to see us one evening. Our unit was very roomy, quiet and comfortable. I'd go back!
- Crystal (10/5): key deer ! - great place to stay if you want to visit the key deer on the island:) right in the preserve:)
- Not Provided (2/5): Sängloppor - Varning för sängloppor!!
- Don (8/5): A peaceful Keys get-away. Off the main highway.. - The place is easy to find off US-1 in the Keys. Clean and very roomy. You could sleep 10 but it was only my wife and I. Tiny TVs, compared to modern flat screens, no wi-fi, though it was advertised as having it. That was a problem, as I broadcast Internet radio, and a big part of my Keys trip was to be covering an event in Key West. If they clean up their act by either getting wi-fi, or fix the website to reflect that there is no wi-fi, the place would be great. Perfect for relaxing and getting away from the hubbub of the work-a-day world. Owner and manager are very nice to their guests.
- Efrain (10/5): Very Impressed with the room. - My wife and I were very impressed with the room we got, it was spacious and very clean!
- Daniel (4/5): Will not use again - No wifi as advertised
Appliances (refrigerator) made loud noise when running.
- Berenice (10/5): Nice apartment - The 2 room apt was very clean and organized when we walked in. Fully furnished. The kitchen was stocked with plates, cups and utensils. We stopped by the grocery store and made use of the grill and stove during our time there. Only about 50 mins from Key West or 15 mins from Bahia Honda State Park which is beautiful. Rachel was also very nice and helped us when we needed it.
- Armando Jose (6/5): Guess - Was very good.
