Guest Reviews

- Filip (10/5): Very special house, different and surprisingly good experience - totally recommended - Astonishing house with spacious common spaces, breathtaking view over the village and Mahe Island. It is located on a hill, but that is what makes the view amazing. Super friendly and welcoming host, sharing great recommendations for bike rentals, beaches, trails, etc. Great value for the money! There were some cockroaches, but they were coming from nature, so they were visible everywhere around the island.
- Maria Madalina (7/5): - The bungalow was clean and well maintained, and overall we had a pleasant stay. The location was good, although not very central—still, it was reasonably accessible. We were especially grateful for the warm welcome and helpful guidance we received upon arrival. The staff provided us with a map of the island and took the time to explain activities, areas where it might be unsafe to swim, and recommended great places to eat and go out. We truly appreciated these thoughtful suggestions, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
- Martin (10/5): -
- Roseanna (9/5): - We loved the outdoor kitchen and the views to the sea from the pool. The mattress on the single bed in the upstairs bedroom of the bungalow is really uncomfortable. All other beds fine.
- Milosz (9/5): - Amazing view!
- Gunda (10/5): -
- Jeanne (7/5): -
- Brigitta (5/5): - The view from the property is beautiful. Large, spacious rooms. The property is in need of major refurbishment and maintenance. Hardly any light inside, very dim after switching on the lights. Old spotlights are replaced with different bulbs which are not bright enough. The owner and his family are on site, no privacy. It is advertised that there is a washing machine but in reality the owner uses the drying lines at all times so no place to dry the clothes.
- Manuel (9/5): Great stay, kind staff. The structure is less than 5 minutes cycling to/from the port. Unique view, - The view is amazing, the open space living with no-window make it a great place to stay, a connection with the sorrounding nature. Unique place
- Manon (10/5): -
- antonia (9/5): - The stuff was great and helpful with everything Keep in mind that it's a little up high but near the center
- MrTravelpp (10/5): -
- Evelin (9/5): Unique accomodation on a hill with beautiful ocean view, surrounded by wildlife - We stayed at the chalet as a couple. We liked the place very much, especially the view. We liked the atmosphere of the wooden bungalow and we were received by a very nice host. 2 out of 3 nights we were woken up by roosters crowing under our window before sunrise. Given that we went there to relax, this was a bit unpleasant. I think this could be solved by a little effort, maybe by enclosing them into a yard further away.
- David (10/5): This stay was one of the best getaway experiences of my life . Couldn’t fault the accommodation. And the staff …well the - Unique dwelling . Excellent quiet location That I had to leave 😉
- Xhesika (10/5): -
- cristina (7/5): Esperienza positiva, rapporto qualità prezzo da rivedere. - Staff gentile e disponibile.
- Rebecca (10/5): Fantastic location with amazing views - Amazing place. The views from the balcony were incredible. Had everything we needed. They even organised bikes for us to hire that were waiting for us when we checked in. Nothing - but there was a short steep hill to get to the property but that's why the views were so good!
- jaime (10/5): - The house is amazing-- we loved the wood and furniture. The pool was life-saving on hot days and the view was always changing and gorgeous! The team was very helpful and pointed us to great bike rentals and take-aways. Thank you!!
- Barbara (9/5): Superb - We really enjoyed our week at Fred’s property. It’s close to the centre, offers wonderful view on the island & is just chilled and relaxing. The pool is a highlight after a hot day out! And the boat trip with Fred was absolutely amazing! We got to see fish, coral, even a shark!! (And turtles)! last but not least - Doreen’s cuisine was tasty and local - thank you! Very grateful to have experienced La Digue at the Kaz Douceur!
- Dolores (8/5): belle découverte. - The kindness of Frederick, always excited and fun.
he is the chef. good food.Thank you
- Yuliya (10/5): Amazing holiday! Thank you so much! - Everything! Fantastic view and service! -
- Kateryna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Human (10/5): Exceptional -

- Kenneth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Digon (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (5/5): Passable -
- Zhivko (7/5): Good - Great view, lots of greenery around the house. The place definitely has potential.б We arrived earlier than check-in time and the hosts agreed to accommodate us, but it wasn't cleaned well enough. The furniture and equipment in the kitchen were old and in need of replacement. Most of the lights in the house did not work. Also had a problem with a couple of the water taps in the bathroom. The landlords live in a nearby building and we frequently ran into each other. There is a small pool in front of the house that we thought was attached to the main house, but it was often used by the hosts' children. Our expectation was to be more private . I am not very demanding but for the price I expected more.
- Rebecca (5/5): Passable - Easy check in, near the jetty. There were a number of aspects of the bungalow that would benefit from renovation, eg. the bathroom door, the sink in the main room, mosquito nets would be a great addition too.
- Agim (10/5): Exceptional - Super place the bungalows are so we'll build and so different from other places me and my daughter Loved the largest natural TV it's very clean house too the owner knows what the visitors want beautiful place Very quiet and different on the very good way
- Dominika (10/5): Excellent stay. Close to nature, relaxing, traditional but comfortable facilities. - The selling point for this lovely self catering accommodation is definitely the view and the upside down layout. The dining/kitchen area has incredible views over Praslin. Sun rise and sun set create a beautiful backdrop. The kitchen is well equipped. Washing machine is a huge bonus. The large bed was very comfortable. Plenty of storage. A shop with all basics is located nearby. Fredo the owner and all other staff were very friendly and helpful. They kindly arranged bicycles for us. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Electrics need to be improved. Socket next to the bed- bedside table lamp only worked when plug pushed half way in.
- Birgit (10/5): Exceptional - + The beautiful and cool design of the chalet (maisonette style, open concept etc.)
+ Practical curtains to block the sun out of the sitting area if needed
+ Huge bed
+ So much space in general (for hanging clothes, to sit and chill, to cook....)
+ Amazing view, especially to watch bats and sunsets
+ No need to carry drinking water up the hill - it was provided by the host (12 litre containers)
+ The hill wasn't as bad/steep as some of the reviews say - if you are average fit, you can walk up without any problems
+ Kitchen equipment was very easy to clean (intact teflon frying pans etc.) and nothing was missing, you also have everything you need to wash the dishes
+ Having our own washing machine saved our trip :-)
+ Shuttle service from the ferry (small charge)
+ Friendly and helpful staff
+ You are not disturbed by anyone else, very secluded spot
+ Small swimming pool
+ Payment by credit card is possible, only extras like tourism tax and water need to be paid cash
THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!!
- Oskar (8/5): Nice adventure for people who like an exotic island vibe - The view from the patio and location which gave a jungle vibe. Property is not for people who expect very comfortable conditions. However, we were happy with the experience.
- Edrich (8/5): Great place to stay. The host was very helpfull and friendly. He even arranges the bikes at a special rate. - The view and the kind host. The room upstairs could have been better. Very basic. The pool was limited to the main house unless the main house was unoccupied.
- Oana (9/5): Superb - Cozy place, boho style, very beautiful view of the Oceani. I loved the design, wood everywhere. Walking distance to the jetty.just be fit. the last part of the walk is uphill. If you're carriyng big bags you should request a transfer.
Mr Fred, the owner, was really nice and outgoing, making sure everything is fine.
The terrace was awsome, at dawn and sunteți too.
- Thierry (9/5): perfect match for our expectations - the view over the ocean and Pralin island
the location secluded away from the streets
the warm welcome and friendly interaction with Fred
- Karen (7/5): Good - helpful staff location on a hill. Humid, clothes dont dry well by hanging
- Thiagomoreira (6/5): Local experience but hard to sleep - The host was the nicest person. He gave us information and helped with bikes and boat trips. The location is also 15min from the marina, which helps arriving and leaving. In addition, the host has a transfer service that helped a lot to bring our luggage all the way up to the bungalow (it is in a steep hill). The bungalow is the more authentic local experience you can have in the island. If you are looking for a place in the jungle in the hill, that is your place. However, the fact that theres no door between the room, which is in downstairs, and the upper living room kitchen is uncomfortable for some reasons: 1/ The AC filter was not clean (i couldn't sleep with AC on since I'm a bit allergic), 2/ bugs keep on coming in since doors and windows are not completely sure to block them (it is a real wood made bungalow) and the stairs are open. 3/ With only a fan to cool off, it was hard to survive to the island heat. That been said, those who seek a raw experience, it is a great place. For me, it was hard to sleep at night.
- William (10/5): We would re-rent in a heart beat upon returning to La Digue… - The house keeper Nathaniel was an amazing perfect host. So welcoming and helpful, going above and beyond. She made our holiday very special. The house is everything and more than we could have imagined. Having to leave!
- Mansour (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stiliyana (8/5): Beautiful experience - It was lovely! The view over to Praslin is truly spectacular and we loved our mornings there. We had a massive bottle of water which made it even more pleasant considering you always have to pay for water in other properties.
We knew it would be jungle-like, therefore were prepared for bugs, geckos, birds, chickens and cows. It really is what makes the experience so wholesomely magical.
We even washed our clothes as we had a washing machine which made our lives easier after our 2yo had puked all over me on the way from Mahe to La Digue. We loved it!
P.S and the hike to it is not bad at all. It is literally a couple of curves up hill ;) Breakfast would’ve been nice but it’s a self-catered property. :)
- Borovik_denis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (10/5): What a view from a breathtaking location - The view at the property was spectacular. Fred and his staff team did a good job maintaining the place. It was very clean and everything was in good order. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was a comfortable and easy experience.
- Tina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sophia (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful stay, lovely view, wonderful breakfast. Very lovely hosts. They kept the rooms super clean. It is right near some great food options. The best in the Seychelles. Make sure to book boat trips through them! Don't trust the local guys on the beach. These hosts are the ones you'll want to book through!
- Sid (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vaibhav (8/5): clean rooms , amicable host with all amenities available. - Good view from the balcony, all amenities were available , situated at a close proximity from the jetty and cooperative host. steep climb to the property and lizards and insects in the rooms
- Michal (10/5): Amazing place to stay in La Digue! - The place is just great! It has a beautiful atmosphere, you will see the best view of the ocean while sipping your morning coffee, everything you need is close by, Frederik the owner is very helpful and really makes your stay enjoyable, we felt like in paradise! Highly recommend!
- Evgeny (1/5): Bad - The housekeeper stollen my shorts and wireless music speaker
- Szilvia (6/5): good, but next time we would select accomodation closer to the beach. - the view is beautiful for not young people difficult to climb to the house
- Verified traveler (6/5): Dont do it - Near the beach (didn't mention the 2km walk down and an incredibly steep up hill 200m hike 45 deg gradient)
Rooftop terrace
Room service (huh?)Terrace, Air conditioning (TG),Daily housekeeping (non existent), Garden, Self-serve laundry, Wedding services - don’t do it
Free WIFI (seriously NOT available and disappointing),Near the beach (2km walk down and incredibly steep up hill 200m hike 45 deg gradient)
The Liaison Marie Therese met us by chance at the port as she was expecting us much latter that day. We were suggested to take a specific taxi whom she knew to access the home as "most other taxi" will not go up the hill to the house. He charged RS200 for a 2km drive - she told us it was the standard rate. A different taxi charged us RS150 when we left. The driver was dumbfounded with the RS200. The house had a beautiful view, split level with Aircon (absoilutely necessary) no WIFI as advertised. Marie Therese charged us EU 20/person and EU10 per child for dinner - under seasoned but lovely Creole food - do it once and then eat out. Beds are very uncomfortable, our mattress was 20 years old - definitely had bed bugs as the plug in mosquito repellent resulted in no flying insects. Kids eaten to bits. There was no daily room cleaning as advertised. The dishwasher was not
Marie Therese "organized" bikes at a good price A bit of a racquet if you ask me. Everyone is out mainly for the money. Oh yeah don't do FISH trap, it's rubbish food at expensive rates and is a TRAP!
