Guest Reviews
- Jorden (1/5): - N/a The shower filled up while you were taking a shower did not drain properly. The sink had a big hole in it. You couldn’t watch anything on the TV cause it needed a prescription for everything you needed. The fridge did not work.
- Soo Hoo (7/5): Good value in a very convenient location. - Cleaner surfaces in the room. Tabletops & floors somewhat sticky.
- Comer (3/5): - The rooms were not anything close to the picture. Looked like the were dog pee stains or some kind of stains on the floor. The cleanliness of the rooms was not good at all.
- Bryan (8/5): - It was comfortable Wasn't anything I didn't like
- Rhonda (4/5): Too noisy - Staff was super nice and location was convenient Bed was old and lumpy. Floor was filthy. TV was tiny. Being right on the main Hwy it was very loud. Overpriced considering other establishments are nicer and charge less.
- Cliff (8/5): - It is not the Hotels fault - but 150 feet back is the BNSF / Amtrak train track and you brtween 2 major intersections so load trains blowing their whistles at all hours makes it hard to get a good nights sleep - try and get rooms on the front hwy 2 side it is a little better
- Michael (8/5): Fantastic - It’s looking better and better as improvements continue!!! Keep up the great work!!!!! Not so much a didn’t like but a suggestion. You might want to look at putting non skid on the bath tub as felt a little slicker then one would think when wet
- Oscar (5/5): -
- Ylva (4/5): - Stolarna hade fläckar. Sängen var väldigt nedlegad. Golvet slitet.
- Sandra (3/5): It was a place to stay last minute, if I would have had time, I would have found elsewhere - Location, near the fairgrounds All in all, very dirty, you can tell they do the bare minimum. Shower was very dirty, sink took a long time to drain because of grime, bed was horrible, sheets had a couple of holes, tv was tiny. It was also very loud.
- Alvarez (5/5): 50/50 - I like some of the stuff they were helpful and informative but there was one staff member there that wasn't really working with what I had already booked and yes they did compensate and upgraded the one of the rooms but it was still an inconvenience of what I was trying to do When I requested a rooms that was side by sorry it was told there is confirmed and available but then when I arrived it was not side by side rooms and then one of the rooms that they gave me the bed was not comfortable nor properly assembled and the toilet was constantly running
- Kimberly (5/5): -
- robert (10/5): - Everything Nothing to dislike. It was all good..
- Tiburcio (5/5): If all you need is a place to sleep then this place is good, not great. - The staff was very friendly. And the room was handicap accessible to get in and out of the room. Parking spot is right in front of the door for handicapped persons. The room was too sparse. Only 1 towel and 1 pillow per person. No foot blanket to keep from getting the comforter dirty. A water bucket and 1 plastic cup each. No coffee pot, coffee in lobby, inconvenient when you're in a wheelchair. The breakfast will curb hunger, it's the typical continental fare, bagels and cereal.
- robert (10/5): - Everything Everything was good..
- Amanda (4/5): overall, it wasn't a terrible stay but some upgrades would be good for future guests - great location, okay prices, Decent staff bathroom light wouldn't stay on, would randomly turn itself off then back on again, when i told the staff they just said "yeah its okay" Heater/AC unit didn't work at all, and TV didn't work when we got there but staff replaced it thankfully, there was only 1 lock on the door all others had been removed. The parking lot had a few sketchy people staying in their cars over night.
- KEMI (3/5): Close to Fairgrounds. VERY LOUD train adjacent to property blew horn 3-4 times every night. - Close to our final destination. Bed was decent. Train crossing adjacent to the property. LOUD whistle 3-4 times a night, every night. Broken outlet behind the bed seemed like a shock hazard. Bed sheet had a dime sized hole in it.
- Hendrik (5/5): -
- Rhonda (6/5): -
- LINDA (7/5): -
- Sara (9/5): -
- Stuckey (10/5): - Everything was incredible There wasn't anything I didn't like
- Brian (2/5): Not staying there - The light bulbs burnt out but the worst was the toliet not flushing and we contacted them twice also the fridge did not work and the other room we had to ask for a remote to work the air conditioner. We were there 4 nights you would think that they would of done something with the toliet not working likt give us a credit back as they came 2x but did not do anything
- Pam (6/5): - The room was small, but clean. Out front there was a highway with loud traffic till about 11:30 at night . There were train tracts out back so there was also train noise sometime.
- Joan (10/5): - Staff was very helpful and helpful. HUGE improvement than previous management!! The breakfast options could be better, not much to choose from,
- Linda (7/5): It was fine and would stay again - We thought the room was fine. The bed was comfortable. ... It was very handy to the fairgrounds and we would stay there again. I thought for the price it would be scary but it was nice and I thought they had a good selection for the breakfast.
The air conditioner worked also. Clean rug and higher toilet. Toilet is the very low
- Pamela (2/5): We are glad it’s over. - Small but nice breakfast Friendly staff. Cheap price. Structural problems with an older building. Looks like they have been fixing it but some safety issues need to be addressed: several 2x4 boards holding up parts of the second story, leaking toilet, door to our room looked like it had been through a police or military action. Drug deals appear to be happening at one end of the motel. Needs lots of work!
- Zac (7/5): -
- Mark (1/5): Worst hotel room I have ever seen. We did not stay after seeing the room. - horribly filthy - strong chemical smell from cleaning products - smell of urine above that of strong chemicals
- Rick (5/5): -
- Leonard (5/5): -
- Sean (1/5): - Mismatched beds, Burn marks on floor, Adjacent room was being lived in by tweakers. Holes in walls. Smelly. Dirty.
- militante (6/5): -
- militante (3/5): - Area Room
- Purvis (7/5): -
- Trisha (4/5): - It was a great value, clean and available happy with the comforter. Tv was barely bigger than the microwave and the microwave was small. Bed was lumpy not comfortable.
- Steven (3/5): Very dirty. Rundown way too expensive for the qualo -
- Monroe (7/5): Budget friendly with a good staff. - When the 1st room wasn't acceptable, they made it right by upgrading us into a nicer room where everything worked well for the same price. The room we were initially given was not good. The heat-a/c unit was v. noisy and didn't work right. The remote didn't work the TV.
- Chelsea (10/5): -
- Dale (8/5): -
- Andrew (5/5): -
- Matt (8/5): -
- Whisler (1/5): -
- Laura (3/5): -
- Jesse (1/5): - Nothing Everything. I didn't expect rats, bloody sheets. Or a lube covered remote
- Dolly (8/5): - Ok
- Dolly (8/5): -
- Dolly (8/5): -
- Emma (1/5): - Terrible service when trying to check out. Room was disgusting with mold on everything (especially the smoke alarm and water sprinkler), bed was broken in most places and stained Everything was pretty bad. Next time we'll be booking somewhere else.
- Estrada (10/5): -
- Walker (5/5): It gave me a place to stay close to the wedding I was attending and the price was decent. - The comfort level was not bad as far as sleep. The problem was the cleanliness. The white bedspread had a blood stain in the middle...how you miss that when you make the bed, I don't know. The floor was filthy. I took my socks off before bed and only walked on the room floor. When I stepped into the shower later, the water ran black off my feet. Then I look around in the shower and see dirt on the walls that were only partially wiped off. I mean... Do your job & clean the room.
When I complained at the front office, they said they would take care of it. The bedspread was replaced, but the floor and shower were still dirty.
- Albert (9/5): -
- Victoria (7/5): - I like the location, the price and decent rooms. And a few of the staff are great. Also I really like the couch. The bed was so uncomfortable. Had a bar in my back and if I sat up the bar or whatever hurt to sit on. And sadly there was some foil with what I am assuming meth or heroine under the coffee table. Thuis is rooms 127. I am really sorry. I love you guys, we stay every 2 or 3 weeks and this is honestly the 1st I was disappointed.
- Glenn (7/5): - Continental breakfast was basic but good. I liked how close this hotel was to the Monroe Fairgrounds and restaurants. The price was good and the room was comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Going to the fairgrounds, I would stay there again. Bathtub was missing the shower curtain.
- Ayla (2/5): - Oh boy, I have never bailed on a hotel/motel in my entire life until now. I have stayed in old, out-of-date, and rustic places before, and that's all fine, but this place has problems. The room absolutely reeked of Marijuana, the arm rests on the chair I sat in were sticky, there was a stain on the bathroom counter that made me think someone left a rusty paint can on the counter for a long period of time, and there were multiple winged insects in the room. My husband killed 4 of them and saw more before we called it quits. Also, some of the large support columns for the walkway on the second floor were clearly breaking, which is TERRIFYING. Some of them had extra, smaller columns added around them to try and hold them up, so the property owner is clearly aware, but why not replace the actual large columns themselves? The nice man working in the front office was very police and agreed to refund us, so I have no complaints at all about the staff or about the service we received. I don't think I'm a terribly high-maintenance traveler, but I couldn't stay in this place.
- Peter (6/5): - Dated building. Suited the need
- Brandon (2/5): - This is hands down the worst I’ve ever stayed in. The pictures on hand when booked look nothing like the garbage room they put us in. Walking through the door we were transported back to 1970. The place is disgusting outside was to. Trash and beer cans at the bottom of the stairs. The mattress should have been discarded 20 years ago. It was hard as concrete and the bed squeaked everytime you twitched. The furniture was disgusting. Chairs were massively stained and dirty. Table felt like it hadn’t been wiped down. AC rattles like it gonna fall out of the wall. Toilet runs every 10 minutes all night long. Pay extra and stay elsewhere. I will never stay at this dump again. Take down the false pics and put up ones that actually look like what you’re renting. I also took pics and as soon as I can figure out how to post them, I will.
- Michael (6/5): - Just a place to sleep.
- Peter (8/5): - House keeping need more clean also the hair on the bed and in the rest room. The last time we moved in they didn't clean the room well. The laundry need more clean too. But the good thing the washer and dryer is free to the tenant . Thank you fairground In . The staff there are very nice.
- Roseanne (2/5): - I asked for a refund
- Michael (9/5): Keep up the good work - Close to evergreen speedway Nothing
- Harry (2/5): - front desk staff was great, very kind. The people staying and milling around the hotel and surrounding area is sketchy, drug activity, possibly additional other illegal interaction occurring by people in the area. We had only been there 10 minutes and had a strong feeling our car would be stolen if we stayed over night due to the interest in the vehicle by the people milling around. Also, the room we were provided was nice and clean, but it was an adjoining room, and my husband was immediately able to gain entry to the connection room next door. Unnerving, as we then felt our room could not be secure if the opposite were true. A hard no on this location. Again, nice staff, terrible activity in the area and at the hotel itself. Does not recommend.
- Angelina (8/5): - Great nice front desk staff only the housekeeping they don't clean well in the room we find hair the first day we enter the room on bed and in the bathroom Also outside need to be clean too. The laundry room is clean also the machine is free to the guest to wash their laundry .
- Dolly (7/5): -
- May (2/5): - The room was filthy. The sheets had what looked like blood stains on them. The bedspread felt dirty just touching it. There were easily 25 flies flying around the room. The air conditioner did not work; the toilet did not flush. The carpet was awful. I would never recommend this property and the one good thing I can say is we did not stay and got our money back.
- Joshua Rey (8/5): - Nice place!
- Crystal (6/5): - VERY VERY CLEAN I stayed once before and I’ll likely stay again. It’s a rundown little motel in the middle of town. It’s exactly what you’d expect.
However the sheets were spotless and the water was hot and I slept great
- Glenn (2/5): - The bed was full of black hairs and stains
- Katy (6/5): - road noise, paper thin walls hearing people talking outside of my room
- Kelsey (8/5): Good stay. - Not bad of a place. Lots of things nearby. The bed was comfortable!
- Christopher (6/5): Great price. - The person who checked me in was really nice, it was close to everything, but the room and the bed were awful! The room smelled really bad, the bed was so hard it wasn’t even funny and the condensation was out of control, it was a decent property maybe I just got a bad room? I will stay again when I’m bad in Monroe.
- Rory (8/5): Excellent Value - Fairground Inn is the best value I know for quick business trips to Monroe, family run and quite accessible.
- Tony (8/5): - Train is a little noisy
- James (2/5): - Booked for three people got 1 double bed 2 towels dirty gross place. We left without staying.
- Kerry (6/5): - The room hadn’t been vacuumed, the toilet didn’t flush (we fixed it), the chain was torn from the door, there was food splattered on the wall behind the microwave, hairs in the bathroom, no garbage can in the restroom, a substance on the bathroom wall…the bed was clean.
- Roxanna (8/5): - Palou was very nice and helpful. He helped to get us a bottom floor room for my 500+ pound friend, who would of had a hard time making it to the 2nd floor. He also made sure our front window got fixed so we could sleep in comfort, knowing no one could get into our room from the street.
- Chris (10/5): - Just a little dirty parking lot
- Brian (4/5): - The bad. The room’s carpet was filthy, didn’t walk around with bare feet. Breakfast was marginal, nothing hot except instant oatmeal. The good we saved $300. Was it worth it? Not really.
- jesse (2/5): - Bedding had something on it, wall had spots that had been painted different colors, holes patched in doors with out being fixed, the floor was gross feeling i wouldnt walk bare foot on it bathtub was peeling. Pulled in and trash bags were just sitting outside in parking spots. Very out dated and very musty smelling was hoping it had gotten better from last time. Will be spending a lil more money and going somewhere else next time.
- Daniel (2/5): 0/10 would not stay again - Stains on the floor and furniture. Remote was sticky and had gunk all over it. Hair on the counter and shower area. Sketchy night activities in the back lot.
- Nena (10/5): - Clean room, friendly staff
- Chris (6/5): - The outside is full of trash, garbage cans overflowing. The rooms are well worn, but I was pleased that the room looked clean. I bring my own bedding and pillow, I refuse to sleep on any motel sheets. I asked the staff not to clean my room, I don't want my bedding moved around. Overall its a place to sleep, and defiantly nothing fancy.
- Geraldine (8/5): - Lots of testaurants nearby
- Robert (8/5): - This is an older building on a busy road with a train that goes by every six hours or so day and night. That said, they were pet-friendly, the beds were comfortable and best water pressure I have ever had at any hotel. As long as you know its right on the highway, there are trains and kind of a beat up building - it was cean and safe enough. We stayed five nights during a two-week trip to the Pacific NW with our two dogs, both Setters.
- Anthony (4/5): - Liked the location but chair and carpet had urine stains (Smelled) on them.
- Sampson (5/5): - Lobby breakfast good. Manager very helpful to carry heavy bag up stairwell for me. Manager called to advise me unable to offer a downstairs room prior to stay. Could not log on to Wifi. Grounds not maintained. Cigarette butts covering ground ,pavement uneven, stairs unpainted and in need of repair.
- Mike (6/5): - The place is close to everything, food, activities, shopping. The grounds could be kept up better. Lot of garbage and cigarette butts laying around. Rooms are okay but they have only about 20 inch television.
- Teresa (4/5): - Room was clean but needs a lot of money put into it, bath tub still had hair in it and was clogged, we get what we paid for kinda
- Mackenzie (8/5): -
- Melanie (8/5): -
- Peggy (10/5): - Beds were good, carpet needs to be replaced, toilet had leaks.
- Berthadean (2/5): - I got there and paid for my room. Everything seemed to be OK, not very nice, but OK. Well, when I went to my room, it was a different story. The curtains were not completely attached to the rod, so they didn't close completely. There were no pictures or anything on the walls, but the walls were full of holes. The carpet was warn through at the bathroom doorway and it didn't look clean. The bathroom floor stuck to my shoes as I walked on it. I couldn't bear the thought of staying there, so I asked for my money back and went and bought a sleeping bag and stayed in my car. This was totally not what I expected. They gave me a receipt saying that they refunded my money, but I have not seen it in my account yet.
- Sandi (10/5): - It smelled very nice and it was a great place with breakfast
- MYLES (2/5): - Horrible bed. Dirty shower. Room smelled. Dirty disgusting stained chairs.
- Berkeley (2/5): - Horrible front desk people got charged for one night I was not even there I found hair on the sheets. front desk people were very, very rude not family friendly at all got lied to and said there was a couch in the room and there was not bathroom was dirty bugs and mold Bed was severely uncomfortable. Was very noisy outside and there was loud music playing late at night in early in the morning. Also, we asked if there was two beds available and they said they didn’t even have them at the hotel even though it says it on Expedia‘s website would not go there again. The hotel should be shut down.
- Dallas (2/5): - There is as a larger amount of hair on the bedding when we arrived.
- Larry (7/5): Fairgound inn - Staff was friendly and it was a really good price. Bed was hard, and the water did not have enough pressure other that it was good.
- Brittini (8/5): - See above
- Melvin (2/5): - There wasn't much to like. There's obviously a number of people living there who seemed to spend time talking right outside my room until 10:30. It sounded like they were in my room. I. could have easily participated in their conversation. There's a train that goes by about 200 yards away every 4 to 6hours with it's horn sounding. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever experienced and I'm 77. The good? Nothing I can think of.
- Dave (4/5): - There is nothing unique about this Motel. It's old over priced and not very well kept up. Totally misrepresented on the web. The only thing I can say good is the room was clean.
I paid way to much for this room.
