Guest Reviews
- Keith (8/5): Was good and the staff was helpful and the facility was not very busy yet before Memorial Day. - The location. It was before the season got busy so the parking lot was wide open. The staff was helpful. Always question the value of a stay as the price does seem high on a regular basis.
- Adi (10/5): Always have a good experience staying there. - Convenient location and has free charging station for EV. What an excellent decision by owner or management to have that. Nothing really.
- Courtney (8/5): Great. - Right on Lake Superior. There was a fire close to the resort. Staff did a very good about updating us.
- Wendy (8/5): -
- Janice (8/5): -
- Karen (10/5): Very short but wonderful stay. We would have liked to stay longer but just not this time. - Our food at the grill was excellent. Every staff person was attentive and friendly. We stayed several times years ago with our children and grandchildren and we were so glad to be back. It is amazing to see how well kept the property is.
- Georgios (9/5): -
- Sarah (8/5): - Beautiful!!I Leaving
- Rory (9/5): - Great location with Lake Superior views and shoreline. Nice facilities, good restaurant, nice pool, room and common areas all exceptionally clean. The bed in my room was very firm, shower water in room didn’t seem to get very warm.
- Hanson (10/5): -
- George (10/5): Excellent location and very nice atmosphere. - Excellent location! Dined in the restaurant and the food was awesome! Food was pricey but excellent.
- Alyssa (9/5): -
- Colleen (10/5): -
- Brenee (10/5): -
- Dan (10/5): - I loved it all. And I wasn't expecting them to have a pool and hot tub so that was an extra bonus. And the hot tub was huge.
- chris (7/5): Decent value considering North Shore prices. - Location and lodge food Uncomfortable bed and fireplace worked infrequently (gas)
- Bonnie (9/5): - Coffee available all the time! Wish I could afford this during the summer.
- Nordhues (9/5): -
- Joseph (10/5): -
- Holly (10/5): -
- Julia (10/5): A beautiful area for a holiday. - The bay suites facing the water are amazing. Very close to the water to hear the crashing waves of Lake Superior & watch the moon rise. Amazing views. The fireplace for ambiance. Clean & comfortable. A good pool & hot tub in the main lodge a short walk away.
- Olson (10/5): A wonderful relaxing stay on Lake Superior! - We stayed in one of the lake homes (#440) and, despite the fact that the log homes are over 20 years old, everything looked brand new. It had obvious that everything had been updated. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the view of Lake Superior from the living room was lovely. The staff was friendly and customer focused. My only complaint was the electric stove. The top must have been replaced at some point, and it didn’t line up with the burners. The largest burner didn’t cook well, and the one to its right tended to burn everything. Perhaps time to replace, along with new fry pans, so they will actually sit flat on the burner. This was the only thing in the place that didn’t seem like it was brand new.

- Patricia (10/5): -
- Imanol (9/5): - La vista y el paisaje El refrigerador no funcionaba como correspondía.
- Logan (9/5): -
- Hanson (10/5): My wife and I had a great weekend get away, we will definitely be back! - Everything was great! Nothing
- amelia (9/5): -

- Tom (10/5): Loved the Staff and Location - The room was beautiful. The fireplace was awesome and the view was unbelievable. The staff couldn't have been better. The location was exactly what we wanted. The pool was closed, so the hot tub was filled with so many kids splashing around we could not use it.
- Jerome (7/5): Very nice but very much overpriced by comparison to the competition - We loved the whirlpool option, the fireplace, and that it was very close to the water No balcony and parking was far from the unit
- Barbara (8/5): - Great food. Nicely done. I’m elderly. Quite concerned there were no hand holds in the shower. Gleaming, lovely new shower but not a shelf, nothing to hold on to. Isn’t that an insurance risk for you?
- Amie (9/5): -
- Karen (10/5): -
- Thomas (2/5): We had a room on the 2nd floor of the Lodge homes. No air conditioning and the room was uncomfortably hot the whole time - Location is perfect We will only stay at the main lodge if we go again.
- Sara (7/5): Good potential to be a perfect stay - The giant ladder golf was fun. Being right on the water was nice. Clean room. We purposely booked a place with a hot tub so we could soak tired muscles after long hikes and the hot tub wasn’t available during our stay. Our room, while clean was very damp. The carpet and bedding felt a little wet. We had to crack the AC to dry it out.
- Jane (9/5): Nice atmosphere and very enjoyable stay - The staff and the food at the grill were excellent. Hot tub wasn't available and they had no fire wood. Also would call direct and probably not book through a third party.
- Diane (8/5): -
- Makaya (10/5): -
- Laurie (8/5): Beautiful! - Beautiful, the room was very nice and clean. Restaurant was fantastic. The bed was very firm. Shower was a little noisy. Was pricey but couldn’t beat the view
- Tsongna (8/5): Good location with perfect view of lake superior. - Didn't have breakfast but very good location with good view of the lake. The room smell even though it's cleaned. Probably due to cold weather and wet floor.
- Ronda (10/5): -
- elizabeth (5/5): Units are dated.restaurant needs to up its game. Views and access to Lake Superior are fantastic.game. - The location is superb. That is why you pay big bucks to stay
Kitchen well equipped My unit was drab. Beige and brown. The gas fire is very old and hardly a flame.
Bed just so so.
- Kellie (10/5): Amazing and will definitely be back! - Everything
- spevacek (10/5): It was a great experience. Very lovely rooms and property. - The cocoa and cider station was a hit. The cookies were delicious
- Vernice (8/5): -
- kenneth (8/5): Could have been great was only so so - Suite with the lake views were outstanding Ball room is right next to pool area so you have to walk through people to get to it was heckled buy the party people what fun not snow dome feature was a dud food was cold couldn’t se anything
- Tyrique (10/5): - The food and the room. The view was amazing
- Harvey (5/5): If I were to do it again I would book through the hotel - I booked through booking and then the hotel called me to tell me that the rate through booking. Com was not available but I could pay an additional $125 for a room. I cancelled so we never stayed there. I would be very cautious using any service for this hotel and instead book directly through them. I really didn't like thinking that I had a room booked when I'm reality I didn't
- jbegueria (10/5): Unique stay by the lake - Wonderful views from the rooms to the lake. Cozy, lot of charm. Loved it.
- Leslie (10/5): - Lovely place. Good location. Spacious clean and friendly.
- Lenarz (8/5): - Quiet
- Thiel (8/5): -
- Steven (10/5): A grand stay - Everything very nice very very clean
- Pam (10/5): -
- Gene (9/5): -
- Leah (9/5): Beautiful retreat along the North Shore - Beautiful view, friendly staff, clean and easy check-in and out. Unfortunately our jacuzzi jets didn’t work, perhaps it was that I didn’t know how to operate it, but I only realized it with a full tub.
- Edith (10/5): - Nice lake view. Room was clean. Beds were comfortable.
- Sunee (4/5): - Location of property is fantastic, with views of Lake Superior readily available. There was a unique odor at reception desk and through out the lobby and hallways. Don’t have a clue of what the odors were. The property had two deferent areas for restaurants could use a joint menu in either restaurant. Restaurants were poorly manned and wait times for seating and orders were longer than usual.
- Siriluck (10/5): - Room was nice but a lot of flies.
- Yue (9/5): - everything The room next to or across from the ice machine kind noisy at night.
- Sarah (10/5): Absolutely perfect!! Will be back! - The location was convenient and beautiful! Food and drinks were great! Beds were super comfortable! Nothing
- kay (10/5): Top pick for the north shore! - Beautifully maintained and the location and views are amazing. Will come back.
- Amy (10/5): - Beautiful property d the staff was amazing!
- Andrea (10/5): - First time staying here and did not disappoint. It was really nice
- George (8/5): - Nice lakeside lodge. Spacious rooms (and bathrooms!) with an excellent view.
- John (10/5): - Nice ,quiet, comfortable room
- Barney (8/5): - Good
- Angela (6/5): - The vanity in our bathroom was not cleaned. I’ve never had that happen at any place we stayed. Check in took a long time. The hot tub was not working. The room was nice but the patio not useable because there were constant vehicles and people using the garage right beneath us. I would not recommend this place.
- Joseph (10/5): - x
- Michelle (10/5): -
- Cathy (6/5): - Not enough help at front desk. Room was clean and very nice. Food was excellent.
- Steven (8/5): - Excellent place. We were unable to check in on the first night in the room. We had reserved because the room when we got there, we were told hadn’t been cleaned yet because of workers shortage. But we were taking care of. Wonderful staff.
- Ronald (10/5): -
- Mary (8/5): - The dining room wasnt open so took awhile to get food. Not enough tables and chairs outside to enjoy the weather and look at the water.
- John (6/5): - The facility in general was nice overall. Our room felt kinda small considering the cost, the king bed was verrry firm/hard, and the toilet was unusually short (low to the ground). The view of the lake was great, but I don't see myself spending that much again for what we experienced.
- sax (10/5): -
- Carol (10/5): - We enjoyed sitting on the patio listening to the water against the rocks.
- Henry (8/5): - The front desk staff was very courteous and helpful.
- Heidi (10/5): - Fantastische Lage direkt am See.
- Debra (10/5): Perfect romantic getaway - The location and the warm vibe of the hotel
- Rachel (8/5): - The king suite we booked was beautiful and the food at the restaurant was good - comfortable bed, beautiful view, nice fridge and the bathroom was lovely. Downsides were noise from weddings right outside our window and no breakfast - which I thought would have been nice given the price but I wouldn’t let it stop me from staying again. Glad they had sustainable packaging for takeout, including bamboo utensils! We love to see it!
- Sara (8/5): - Overall a good stay.. there was a wedding reception/dance going on and it continued until midnight.. very loud base and vibration in our room making it hard to sleep. We were not notified of this until check in and if we would have known prior, we would have asked to change rooms
Housekeeping is not offered daily which was also a bummer.
Polite staff, great food, and excellent views.
- Sandra J (6/5): Expected more for the cost. - Attractive property and spacious rooms. Don’t book room 101 if you are going to your room earlier than 10:00. Noise from the elevators, stairwell from the pool, library room, and outside window.
Kitchen closes at 8:00 weekdays and 9:00 weekends. Clerk made honest mistake giving us the wrong time for a Thursday night. So, instead of running to the restaurant, we moved into our room first. Arrived at restaurant at 7:40 and they had closed the kitchen, Endedup buying Lunchables at the gift shop. Only dried powder available with the complimentary coffee.
- Jenny (6/5): - It was nice to wake up and look out at the lake every morning. Though if not in the bed the view was obstructed by a tree. Not having daily housekeeping services such as sheets changed and trash taken out was disappointing. Could request trash pick up and fresh towels but would prefer to not have to worry about anything other than the next adventure while on vacation. Also bathroom was very small and could only accommodate one person though it was a room with two beds.
- Joalah (6/5): - It was good but the hot tub was not working and the sauna was cold :(
- Renee (8/5): - It was beautiful on the lake. We especially enjoyed the games in the front yard.
- John (9/5): Beautiful lodge on Lake Superior - Beautiful lodge. Great location right on Lake Superior. Price was high.
- Kelly (4/5): - Hot tub not working when we arrived. No compensation. Very disappointed, but apology given. Really doesn’t change it. Monies should be discounted.
- Scott (10/5): - View of lake was awesome
- Marlin (8/5): - Not enough parking. Resteraunt and giftshop to expensive
- Kurt (10/5): - Very comfortable. Quick check in and out. Our room had a queen and twin bed and a very large bathroom. Room had a fridge, but no microwave. Fridge didnt have a freezer. No ice bucket or machine. You had to get a bag from some where else on the property. Wound up not bothering. Overall a very nice stay.
- DAVID (6/5): - An average motel with a wonderful view. Unfortunately, the family-friendly aspect, is not exactly conducive to a quiet experience, or a good night's sleep.
- Todd (10/5): -
- Christie (9/5): - The location was stunning. The sunrise view was lovely, and in the evening we watched a lighting storm roll in, the restaurant & lounge had beautiful views of the waterfront.
Our room in a cabin was lovely, large bathroom with deep tub. Coffee in room was undrinkable. The hotel had free coffee in the gift shop but that didn't open until 8am...several people walking around in the morning looking for coffee.
It would have been really nice to have a coffee while we watched the sunrise in the am....
- Michael (10/5): - It is a great place. Restaurant was excellent. Close to both state parks we wanted to visit and close enough to Twin Cities to make the airport by 11 AM!
- Keith (9/5): Convenient, clean and accommodating staff. - Location, cleanliness & convenience with options to eat and explore the area some. Still expensive for both lodging and some meals, but we get that the prime season for the north shore experience is a factor.
- Sharon (6/5): - Few amenities and no housekeeping service.
- Sheng (9/5): -
- Gigi (8/5): - Beautiful area.
