Guest Reviews
- Ted (10/5): Larsmont. It is a pleasure to stay and enjoy all it has to offer. - We love coming to Larsmont. It has become a home away from home. Staff is friendly, grounds are beautiful. We were able to enjoy a lakeside campfire! Larsmont consistently provides helpful hospitality. We really enjoy the lodge and food and drink offerings. Larsmont is situated on the shore close to area attractions.
- Barbara (10/5): Luxury at its best - nice facilities… - Beautiful view.., very nice accommodation! No problems..,
- Jane (10/5): -
- Yon (10/5): We're coming back! - Location was exceptional- ground and cleaning staff were outstanding. Front desk staff couldn't have been more helpful. Pool and hot tub were the icing on the cake, along with the 24-hour sauna.
- Martha (10/5): - Beautiful resort with a welcoming laid back vibe. Located right on the shore of lake superior. The outdoor hot tub in winter was invigorating and relaxing at the same time! Having to leave.
- Andrew (10/5): Worth the cost to upgrade to a room with a view - The view was amazing and it was secluded and quiet Some of the features in the room are dated
- Steven (10/5): Amazing time of relaxing and enjoying the lake - The rooms were cozy and very clean! The property was peaceful and beautiful. I like how there were many different bonfire spots set up. Nothing here to dislike.
- Anne (7/5): -

- Cara (8/5): - Beautiful! Lots of amenities! Very expensive
- Michael (10/5): Beautiful get away - Location
- Fairhurst (7/5): - Hot water, functionally. Lighting, size of room (very tight), limited amenities for the price.
- Jane (9/5): -
- becky (10/5): - Location & amenities
- Luiz (10/5): -
- Alexandra (10/5): - The temperature of the room was a bit warm and we weee unable to regulate.
- Catherine (10/5): -
- Mary (8/5): We used facilities and enjoyed our fall weekend getaway. Family stayed close by so it was convenient - We loved convenience of restaurant on site and located on Lake Superior. The one bedroom cottages were upstairs and no elevators. I would request lower level in future since we are senior travelers.
- Marcia (8/5): This was a one night stop for us and we enjoyed the walk along the lake - The lake shoreline and walking path were lovely. It was very quiet. Main lodge was comfortable and welcoming. The buildings were attractive and well laid out. The lake facing units were larger and attractive with a green space and a good view of the lake. Our room was quite small with a view of the parking lot. The mattress was too firm for me. My husband thought it okay. The bathroom fixtures were newer and very clean but there was no counter space. We would have appreciated a small table.
- Hart (9/5): -
- Michael (10/5): - Cosy room, very clean and well maintained. Fantastic location right on the lake with great service for outdoor fires, sauna and games.
- Kristi (4/5): - Small menu. Hearty price for what was served.
- Gary M (10/5): - The food was very good! Service was ok!
- Yvonne (10/5): -
- Walt Pitman (10/5): I loved it! Highly recommend - Location great. Breakfast pricey so went elsewhere . Loved the fire starter kits, hot tub and games around the grounds! Hot tub warmer
- Roberta (10/5): - First time we stayed at the Larsmont. The grounds are impeccable and the location is beautiful right on the lake. We also had dinner there and it was delicious. The staff at Larsmont and the Ledge were wonderful
- Katherine (7/5): -
- Rick (8/5): Lovely spot on a beautiful lake at a great time of year! - The lake access and sauna were tops! There was a problem with a door and when we returned late one of our group couldn’t get in.
The desk was shut down but help came soon.
- Jessica (8/5): - The only reason I gave it a 4* os because I think it's a bit over priced and the massages are over priced as well. Other than that the property is beautiful and I love how you can hear the waves in your room.
- Stephanie Gard (10/5): - We arrived to find a very disappointing room—the photos on Expedia did NOT match the actual room (photos were of a lake view suite with fireplace; the room we were in (for over $300) was a tiny full bed and bathroom overlooking the parking lot). The staff tried to make it right and got us into the pictured room the following night. Expedia, as usual, was no help at all. I’m kinda done with Expedia.
- Macie (10/5): Wonderful room at a wonderful location - The grounds were well maintained and mosquito free, the shoreline was flat rugged stone jutting into the surf. The stars were perfectly visible at night. Campfires are night with s'mores were great addition. The room was wonderful, comfortable, and quiet. We could only hear the sounds of the crashing waves which lulled us to sleep at night.
I would stay here again or recommend it to anyone.
- Mary (9/5): -
- Linda (10/5): Great place to stay! - Service was great. Love the resort. Very clean and well kept. Nothing better than watching Lake Superior fireside.
- Bridgit (10/5): Perfect North Shore location - Location, restaurant, hot tub, room, service
- Jill (7/5): The view was excellent. We would have liked to have breakfast included & start earlier. - The view behind the cottages was beautiful & they had chairs to sit in to enjoy the view. We didn’t know breakfast wasn’t included. Breakfast didn’t start until 8:00 AM. There were alot of stairs to our room. There wasn’t alot of counter space in the bathroom for toiletries.
- Kevin (10/5): - The property is always clean and welcoming! The grounds are keeped manicured to very high standards. We look forward to our trips stopping there each year.
- Stenehjem (8/5): Nice place but way too expensive. We won’t be back. - Location was good for us. Dinner in the grill was excellent as was the wait staff. Checkin was quick and painless, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The value of what we thought was going to be our room was way too high for what we got. Basically a 12’x14’ room with no couch or chair, and a teeny tiny place to brew coffee and refrigerator. We paid $700 for two nights, and that’s all the comfort we had. And, no room in the bathroom to place or store our toiletries. Thankfully the shower was excellent!
- Susan (10/5): -
- James (10/5): Beautiful place to stay❣️ - Beautiful property, wonderful service, Great Restaurant on site & gorgeous views of Lake Superior❣️ you can’t find a better place to stay than this one❣️
- Lee (8/5): - It’s a beautiful place - the area is so pretty- manicured landscape and right on the North Shore of Lake Superior.
Our cottage was a one bed and one bath. The only concern we have is that they said there is just one AC / furnace unit that services the three cottages in the unit where we stayed and our thermostat was set at 70 but one of the other cottages must have been cold so our room temperature was 80 at 2:00AM. And that was a problem for us. I hope they get this resolved soon.
The restaurant on the property was excellent and our server was amazing! She was So happy! A great start to our day.
- Steve (10/5): -
- Cynthia (5/5): - Staff were friendly. Decor and grounds were beautiful. Enjoyed sitting by the fire and watching the moon rise over the lake. Free fire wood and s'more fixings was a nice touch. There was no elevator and we were on second floor. Stairs were very steep and narrow, Hard enough just to climb let alone tote the luggage up them. The bed was like sleeping on a board. The chair in the room was just as hard. For the price you should be able to get a good nights sleep. Although the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils, there was not a sink to was them in. Only sink was in the bathroom. So unsanitary so chose not to use anything except the fridge. If we were to stay again, would go for a cottage instead of just a room.
- Michael (8/5): Good rate, clean, yet a little smaller than hoped. - The stay was good. Everything looked clean and plenty of towels.
The room was a bit on the smaller side, yet manageable.
The price was slightly less than rooms of slightly larger size. So, was what I would expect.
- Mike (10/5): - On the lake! Love these views.
- Kelly A (10/5): Pricey but worth it! - Room and view were amazing! Staff was super friendly. We were in an upstairs suite, didn't realize there was super steep stairs to get to our room, so be sure to take into consideration. In addition, if in an upstairs suite, keep in mind you are above the deck of the two larger suites below you with families and exuberant children and you will here and see them on the deck and you can also see and hear everything going on at the bonfire circles along the beach front. There is a restaurant on site, but not a lot else to eat nearby.
- Roberto (10/5): - Such a wonderful location right on Lake Superior. Amazing amenities and staff. So clean and orderly.
- Vonn (7/5): - Restaurant, pool, property Bed too small and not comfortable.
- Julie (9/5): -
- Jeremy (10/5): Definitely gonna come back - It really is a great place to stay. The facilities are very well cared for and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. Enjoyed setting by the campfire every evening
- Fredericks (9/5): Great - Very nice good service Web site
- Mann (9/5): Superb - Loved the location on the lake. Wish the sun was shining instead of raining.
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dr (10/5): It was a lovely and memorable experience with a touch of unreasonable hospitality among the staff. My husband and I woul - The place is cozy and in perfect location. They don’t serve breakfast.
- Sifferle (9/5): Superb -
- Judith (10/5): - Beautiful resort, shoreline, and grounds. We stayed in a lovely suite with fireplace, deck, and great lake view. Very comfortable bed. Great access to Lake Superior sights and hikes. On site restaurant. Goid for families or couples.
- Lynn (9/5): Superb -
- Tracee (10/5): A once in a lifetime experience. - Everyone was friendly and efficient and the location and room was fantastic.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Definitely come back for a longer stay!
- Rebecca (10/5): - Love this property.
Even though room is a little bit small, but clean, neat and comfortable.
Specially love the shoreline. View was awesome! You can see sun rise or moon rise.
- Randph (10/5): - Wonderful, truly an amazing weekend getaway with many different options of relaxing after a satisfying day of exploring the north shore.
- Jeremy (8/5): - Bed was a little firm for us. Otherwise everything was fantastic. Wish we would have stayed longer
- Nannette (10/5): - We spent our 35th Anniversary and it was very special from the Chef's Table which was a once in a lifetime experience to the couples massage we couldn't have asked for a more romantic stay.
- Diane (10/5): - I was so impressed with Lasmont Cottages near Two Harbors Minn.
Our suite was clean, staff were most helpful, nice trails along Lake Superior.
I will definitely return and will tell friends and family about this wonderful place.
- Brian (10/5): - Absolutely wonderful.
- mark (6/5): - Nice view , rooms are a little cramped and in room coffee was terrible so we went to office. However, on the morning we departed, the office wasn't going to open for several hours.
- Matraccia (10/5): - Was comforting and homey
- Edward (10/5): Exceptional -
- Reuben (6/5): Overall, it met my needs as we just needed a place to sleep get to our plans - Loved the restaurant near the location. Great service and food. Next time I will surely look to get one of the larger rooms. The most basic room is really tiny and not much room for two people.
- Amanda (10/5): - Very nice room and view of the lake. Staff was very friendly and helpful, other guest seemed nice as well. Overall I’d give it 4.5 stars. And just cause it’s always best to keep a lil room for growing but very nice stay and pretty quiet, rooms are close seeming yet very well spaced out if sharing a cottage and nice decor and cozy
- Jessica (10/5): - Beautiful property and great amenities
- Brielle (10/5): Exceptional -
- mark (10/5): My wife was enthralled - Check in staff AMAZING....2 very minor complaints....in room coffee terrible and TI NY pool towels
- Chere (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hunter (10/5): - So amazing!
- Steve (5/5): Relaxing but will stay elsewhere next time- - We love the location. Unit feels worn - furniture too big for unit - only one place for one person to sit. Touches were just old.
- Greg (10/5): 49th Anniversary was superb thanks to staff, property and dining. Whirlpool and Sauna were the "icin - Had dinner Twice. Menu choices and options were very good. Food prepared by chef and staff that paid great attention to preparation and imaginative menu. Smoked Salmon Blat, portobello sandwich and creme brulee with blackberry and chocolate mint were Michelin worthy Nothing comes to mind
- Aleksandra (9/5): Overall we had a wonderful time, and none of the things we didn't like detracted from our stay. - The rooms were clean and tidy. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We loved being close to the lake and took advantage of the paths and firepits that line the shore. The food was tasty and the grounds were tidy and clean. The pool and the hot tub were great! We didn't get to experience the sauna due to our limited time which we are disappointed we didn't make time for because it looked so cozy and had a great view of the lake! They have a great selection of DVDs that we enjoyed. The service at the restaurant was a little slow which was ultimately ok, but we were really disappointed that the bar closed at 9. We would have spent time at the bar if it had been open even an hour later. I didn't realize they would open the massage center if we had called. We ended up booking a massage somewhere else. Their off-season procedure could have been communicated better, and we would have happily booked a massage on site!
- Jonathan (10/5): Beautiful spot - Picturesque location with a gorgeous lake view, nice sunrise, and lots to do on-site. The food at the on-site restaurant was amazing! We are looking forward to coming back.
- Todd (10/5): very short stay, but very quality time at a great location - N/A
- Heather (5/5): Beautiful fall weekend. - Grounds were beautiful. Music I. The evening was fun. Room was nice but really small
- Michael (6/5): Pleasant -
- Craig (10/5): - Best place to experiment the North Shore in Minnesota. Recharges your soul.
- Shari (8/5): We celebrated my daughters wedding and made so many wonderful memories - So many activities for the kids. More seating areas around the pool.
- Barbara (9/5): Superb -
- Ann (8/5): Very good - Through advertising, I believed we would be overlooking the lake, not the parking lot.
- Noelle (10/5): - We love the Larsmont cottages. The fire place in the cottages is fantastic. Love being able to cook meals in the kitchen. Being right on Lake Superior is amazing!
- Allen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Tina (9/5): Overall we were very happy with the accommations. - The location was excellent. Our room was one of the cleanest places we have stayed at lately. It was short of counter space, particularly in the bathroom and by the bed.
- Cynthia (10/5): - Beautiful views of the lake right from our room. A very nice place, would definitely come back again.
- Debra (8/5): - We didn’t like that there was no table and chairs in the room to sit at and only 1 side chair for sitting. Balcony was so very small and couldn’t sit out there. We will pay more for a different place next time we go up.
- Nancy (10/5): Lovely. - Beautiful location! Expensive for my cottage room.
- Ann (10/5): - It is in a nice quite area, to stay to visit family.
The food was great, ate in social/bar area, service was wonderful!
- Peggy (10/5): Wonderful, restful, rejuvenating place 5 hours from home. - Loved the location, with restaurant and pool on site. Huge positives was the campfire site and ability to start and end the day right on Lake Superior. Loved it Lived everything g!!!!
- Lori (7/5): Good -
- Currie (1/5): Bad - we made reservations ahead of time, when we went to check in, they had no handicap room for us. we had to go to another hotel. they did nothing to accommodate us. 😠
- Jillian (9/5): Superb - Very nice place!!
