Guest Reviews
- Anouk (10/5): Amazing yoga resort! - Absolutely a dream location! Me and my mom stayed here for two nights, but we could have stayed for two weeks more. The room had a beautiful view and you felt completely immersed in nature. The beds were comfortable and the room very nice. The breakfast was nice and we absolutely loved the lunch and dinner here. But the star of the show was the yoga classes. We did a tai chi and Yin yoga class and they were both incredible. The teachers were great and we were in small groups both times. The view of the yoga place was breathtaking. We would recommend this place to anyone. It was not an issue for us, but there are a lot of stairs so take that into account when booking.
- Giulia (9/5): Un paradiso - Struttura in una posizione stupenda, in mezzo al verde, con ristorante e sala fitness (yoga, pilates, corsi vari). Colazione abbondante.
- Burton (10/5): Best place I’ve stayed so far on Booking.com. - Perfect location and wonderful Nothing

- Aleksandra (1/5): - I do NOT recommend this place. It ruined my vacation.
I was not informed about the construction next to my bungalow. The room was directly facing it, with constant noise and a strong unpleasant smell, making it impossible to stay or relax.
When I politely raised the issue and simply asked to be moved to a quieter room further away, the response was completely disproportionate. They tried to offer me a replacement accommodation in another nearby hotel, but there was no clear availability, and not the standard I paid for. Finally I was told that “management decided” I had to check out by 11 a.m. the next day after unsuccessful “negotiations.”
The atmosphere at the resort itself was extremely strange and unsettling, especially for a place advertising itself as a wellness resort. There was absolutely no sense of calm, care, or “yoga/wellness” vibe — quite the opposite.
I was treated in a very dismissive and unprofessional way, which made the whole experience even more distressing.
In reality, I stayed only a few hours and did not spend a single night there, despite having booked four nights.
On top of that, I still have not received a refund. I was told I would need to come in person to collect it, which is unreasonable and unprofessional. They also tried to refund only three nights instead of all four, even though I never stayed at all.
Overall, a very disappointing and unprofessional experience. I would strongly avoid this place.

- Ivan (8/5): -

- Thomas (3/5): Stay ruined by the dirtiness of the tent, and the difficulty of access due to the many stairs - Hôtel très loins du centre au calme.

- tabatha (9/5): Peaceful and inmersive - The property has amazing views and the snorkeling area is top!! They can still improve the glmaping, they were ok with enough room and the bathroom was confortable but there are little details that still can be improve, saying this just a constructive feedback as we had a wonderful stay at the hotel

- Christina (10/5): Top gerne wieder - Traumhafte Unterkunft, schöne Aussicht, schönes Restaurant direkt vor Ort, Strand, tolles Zimmer Frühstück etwas wenig Auswahl
- Barbara (8/5): We enjoyed our stay. The views wee amazing and we loved the snorkeling - It was a very beautiful remote location with great access to snorkeling and wonderful nature. You had to catch a taxi to do anything off the property and the stairs were exhausting if you stay in the tents.
- Lucia (9/5): -
- Maggie (5/5): Isolated and noisy - Beautiful views, excellent snorkling Very isolated, without transport you are stuck with no choices for food or going anywhere. Lots of mosquitoes and worst of all, lots of construction, so no peace or quiet.
- Michael (9/5): -
- Battaglia (10/5): Everything was just perfect, a little piece of paradise - All Nothing
- Li (9/5): Superb -
- Taras (9/5): Superb -
- Gwendolynne (10/5): As soon as I arrived I felt my body melt into relaxation. With exquisite tropical surrounds to jazz! - The breakfast every option was good. The snorkelling was complete heaven, the views blew my mind, the grounds are just gorgeous. The activities and the yoga room a dream. The instructors heartfelt and brilliant. I didn't mind these things: But many people who do the glamping may not be keen on all the steps but I liked the fitness and the journey was beautiful. And the place is remote and on a step hill but worth just staying there as it is heaven. A taxi to the busy area is only 7 minutes.
- Lena (10/5): Exceptional - My favorite place in Ko Tao! We extended our stay from 3 to 8 nights, stayed in two different bungalows and everything was great. The staff, the breakfast, yoga & activities like ice bathing or snorkeling. Thanks for having us! Highly recommended.
- Lunde (8/5): Very good -
- Morta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Veronika (7/5): Good -
- Romain (10/5): Exceptional - All staff are really kind and sweet! The restaurant has Amazing Thai meals. Coconut ice-cream is one of the best I ate in Thailand. The view from every places from the hotel are incredibly stunning
- Martyna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (10/5): Amazing stay, 100% worth every penny! - The people were so Nice to me. I got there when I was really sick, and everyone out there took care of me. They checked on me everyday. Also everyone’s very friendly, the restaurant is such a beautiful location and the bungalow I stayed in was so cute and Nice. Really amazing.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Ville (10/5): Overall a great exprience - The place is amazing. Everything was great. Staff is always helpful and responses quickly if there is questions.
It was amazing to have nature so close to you which also was sometimes negative. We had lots of fire ants in our tent (our own fault as we had open chips bag inside plastic bag). Note that we saw spiders, snake, bats, big geckos, you name it. So note that before booking if too much wild life in your way is not your thing. We loved it for the most parts.
Also if you choose tent, there will be stairs to climb as others have mentioned. About 300 stairs from the bottom tents to the restaurant (and water refill station).
Breakfast was superb!
Snorkeling here was just breathtaking. So many fishies and coral.
Yin yoga was relaxing and our instructor was very professional and amazing. It’s not negative but think about climbing the stairs multiple times a day and wildlife before making decision. As those things might affect your exprience.
- Jadie (10/5): Exceptional - Wow! This place is amazing! We did the glamping and it was truly beautiful! Great details and beautiful views. They are a lot of stairs but it keeps you fit for sure. We got stuck on the island for an extra day due to bad winds and the boats being canceled they accommodated us to make sure we had somewhere to stay. Great yoga sessions and the float is an amazing experience! We will definitely be back one day!
- Bethany (8/5): Very good - I liked the area and restaurant, staff where lovely I would of liked to of knowing more of the location of the tents
- Serena (6/5): Mixed feelings about service - We were informed in advance that some activities, like yoga, wouldn’t be available, so they gave us the choice to proceed, which we appreciated.
The room had a breathtaking view, and the resort itself is beautiful. The breakfast was possibly the best we had during our month-long trip in Thailand. They also made things convenient by connecting us with a driver for airport pick-up and scooter rental. While the staff didn’t speak much English, they were sweet, shy, and polite, which more than made up for the language barrier. Baan Talay, during the off-season, is a quiet resort near a rocky beach that's not easily accessible, especially if, like me, you're hesitant about the water, though this is a personal concern and may not apply to everyone. However, the service at reception was disappointing. The woman there made us feel unwelcome, often appearing annoyed or impatient, especially when we had minor issues like figuring out how to lock our door. As guests, it’s important to feel at ease, and her attitude unfortunately made interactions uncomfortable. This was a shame because the place itself is stunning, and hospitality plays a big role in enhancing a stay. While we didn’t understand Thai, body language spoke volumes.
- Pantapat (8/5): Very good -
- Mishel (8/5): Very good - Beautiful place , beautiful rooms
Staff is nice , but they charged us 500 thb for dirty sheets..
all the yoga shala and ice bath is out of service, so the price is higher then value.
Not great location- have to rent motorcycle/ taxi to go out the resort.
- Saar (1/5): A lot of bugs, not accessible, terrible experience - A hotel that is a bit far from the center (about a quarter of an hour) and is located right on a cliff so the view is really beautiful.
On the first night we didn't have hot water in the room, we reported that they sent a Thai guy to fix it, he arrived quickly, did something under our bed and said that now everything would be fine. The next day while I was taking a shower and my partner was on the balcony taking pictures of the sunset, one moment the hot water and after a few seconds the power went out.
Not a minute passed and we started to smell a burning smell and then my partner shouted to me from outside that they were on fire and wanted help. I went outside without taking anything from the room except a towel and my eyes really went dark, a flame that was not ashamed of a bonfire right under our room (I didn't have time to take a picture of the fire itself). It took the Thais a few minutes because they didn't understand what my partner wanted from them when she shouted to them in English that our room was on fire and they would come and help. In short, it took a while for them to start trying to put out the fire. We were stressed that the passports in our room would burn and we asked them to try to help get the things out, but they didn't go inside, so we took it out ourselves while the fire was getting worse. After fifteen minutes, they managed to reach the fire that broke out and the electrical cabinet exploded. Needless to say, no matter how much we argued with them because we didn't receive compensation, luckily there was no damage to anyone or property. They agreed to refund the money only for the remaining 2 nights and we of course left as quickly as we could for tomorrow.
- Ann-kathrin (4/5): It's a nice place in the mainseason, but I wouldn't recommend it. - Photos were accurate, I had a small bungalow for myself. Staff at restaurant were nice and polite.
Very responsible thoughts for water use and environment. The bungalow was a bit smelly. It smelled wet and "moldy". The balcony had a good size, but there were no pillows for the chairs, so it was not comfortable to sit there.
The menu card was huge with plenty of choices, sadly the menu for breakfast was a choice out of 3 dishes, because they said the main menu card is not inclusive. To eat vegan is nearly impossible.
You need a taxi for everything, because the hotel is far away from everything else. Or you have to rent a motorklbike. It's on a very (!) Steem hill. So walking is not a perfect solution. There is no shuttle service etc for the guests. No pool or beach, but you can reach the ocean with a mini pier. When you stay there not in the mainseason, there is no yoga or anything you can do there, so it's pretty boring. At the reception was most of the time, no one. So I couldn't check out properly either. The organisation and the feeling of not being really welcomed, is around the whole time.
- Jesus (8/5): Great food and fantastic snorkeling. - The breakfast and the food in the restaurant are impressive. The best snorkeling views of the island are from the resort's pier. From the first day, there were full garbage bins and they were not collected while we were there, the stairs leading down from the cabin were in poor condition, and there were many water puddles that encouraged the presence of mosquitoes
- Gina (8/5): Very good -

- Max (9/5): Beautiful secluded spot with stuff that will make you feel like family if you respect their property. Just a 10 min scoo - The incredible private dock with snorkel access to the water, the lovely staff, delicious food, and beautiful views from the room. The bathroom did feel very exposed, being outdoors, and became very buggy in the late afternoon/early evening. The activities that were advertised in the listing were not available during our stay unfortunately.
- Tangmo (10/5): Wonderful memorable trip trully - The food was great, lots of options. The view is exceptional! peaceful and quiet for a real resting time. We also had a great time joining the yoga class!! walk up and down a lot of stairs but it's a good exercise!
- Edgar (10/5): Beautiful and lush resort - wonderful and quiet location, helpful staff, lovely jungle'y rooms loved the walk-in snorkeling!
- Gaia (8/5): Great food and views, quiet, relaxing and peaceful environment, friendly staff and many activities! - The view, staff, food and activities were the best part of our stay. We slept three nights in the glamping area which was a unique experience to sleep in a comfortable tent surrounded by nature. The food in the hotel restaurant was really delicious with many options. The hotel offered a variety of activities, we tried power flow yoga, tai chi, and guided meditation. But they also have ice bath, painting, and much more. The hotel is located on the top of a cliff and it extends all the way down to the beach. So there are many many stairs if you want to go from the tent to the beach and from the tent to the restaurant and reception. You will definitely be more fit after your stay ;)
- Matteo (3/5): Wouldn’t choose this hotel again, had nothing for a resort, not clean and the smell of the room was awuful - View from the room Smell of the room, insects everywhere in the room, poor breakfast and start too late (8am). No one in the reception in 4 days
- Tanja (10/5): Exceptional - For me the hotel was perfect: amazing views, location at peaceful nature, great snorkeling, good yoga classes and delicious breakfast.
- Sri (8/5): Overall it was really good to stay if you like to have some sea view and to live in a tent..!! - We like the location a lot. Staying at tent was great experience though we had little fear that snakes may come haha.!! The internet was not working unfortunately. Nothing was shown.

- Rionach (7/5): Enjoyable stay, could’ve been better - The resort was very serene and relaxing. The bathroom outside of the bungalow was lovely and tranquil , and the ice bath activity was an amazing experience, the leaders of the activity were amazing!!! The restaurant also was really good, we loved the smoothies and food and it had a nice range of things. The location probably wasnt the best pick for us as we liked to see the island so we had to get taxis. A few issues we had with the resort are they didn’t refill our water when the sheets were changed, the beach was rocky and dangerous which lead to multiple scars over our body which is ridiculous for a resorts beach. The staff weren’t always welcoming and friendly towards us which we overall felt had a huge impact in our stay.

- Benbow (10/5): Best accommodation we have had in Thailand! Firstly the staff were amazing The restaurant it is very personal and views - This has been by far my most enjoyable stay in all of Thailand over the last 2 and a bit weeks. Firstly the staff were amazing, they helped us with our gear to our room and showed us around the site 🙌🏻. The restaurant it is very personal so you are not waiting around for anyone to serve you and the food comes out fast and hot.
The views were truly incredible here! The rooms views were better then I could have imagined and looked better then the photos on the add and the restaurant was breathtaking looking out over the bay and ocean with the red clouds in the sky as the sun is setting.
The site is very down to earth and relaxed which I loved after a short walk down to the water we were met with some of the best snorkeling I’ve ever had with heaps of tropical fish species and even a couple baby sharks! Along with the Marine life we came across an amazing snake and a massive gecko. Being nature enthusiasts we had a blast! There are also lots of little squirrels running around in the trees too.
We definitely will be coming back and can’t recommend this place enough! 10/10 Getting down to the water was a little bit of a trek however we didn’t mind and quite enjoyed it. If you have bad knee issues might not be accessible. However the path is safe with good steps all the way down.

- Zainab (9/5): Great place to skorkel with offbeat stay - The location was gorgeous and it offers the most offbeat stay facility in koh tao with its glamping tents. The location has the best waters to snorkel in with abundant marine life and corals. Although there is no beach and the water is deep the place offers free life jackets to go into the water. The morning buffet is sustainable. The tents could be a little higher but no real complaints. The overall experience was wonderful!!
- Kerstin (9/5): Superb -
- Maria (10/5): This place brings peace to your mind and soul. - Amazing view for yoga and breakfast !
- Chelsea (8/5): Very good - Honestly amazing place if you wanna chill do some diving or snorkelling and also they have yoga classes art classes and ice bathes 2 times per week. There are a lot of stairs to walk from the camping tents but it was not a huge problem for me the views are amazing you can hear the sounds of the sea from the tents my overall experience was great 😊 It’s kinda far from the main beach area the location is not great but if you rent a bike it’s not an issue at all. There are a lot of stairs to get to and from your tent but apart from that I liked this place a lot I felt relaxed.

- Kate (10/5): An exquisite calm resort, with quirky walkways, fabulous accommodation, staff and yoga - An absolute gem of a find….this was the perfect place to relax with astounding views from our beautiful room. The resort more than exceeded our expectations. A tranquil little paradise that we didn’t want to leave. Nothing to comment on, everything was perfect!
- Paula (10/5): Exceptional - A really lovely resort with great yoga classes and a fantastic house reef :)
- Matteo (10/5): Piece of heaven on earth - This is HEAVEN- do not think twice and do yourself the favour of enjoying this gem in the middle of the island. Food (breakfast and dinner) is extremely delicious and relatively cheap, plus you get to practise yoga for just 100TBH in a uniqu setting. The bungalows, the view, the reef and the overal settimg makes is one of the most incredible place i ve been to. I would totally come back to atay a whole week! Stairs and mosquitos, but that’s beyond property’s control
- Janre (8/5): Very good -
- Correna (3/5): Beware of the lizards, and be prepared to not have 24hr reception. - The location is beautiful and the scenery was stunning. The inside of the room was visually pretty and felt clean. We paid for a premium room, but it had little more protection from wildlife than the camping rooms would have. The blinds aren’t blackout and there’s lots of gaps in all of the doors, windows, sliding doors (huge gaps) that allowed lizards in constantly all night. We understood it was the jungle, but felt that really the room needed mesh to stop them getting in because they were so noisy and rather frightening if you’re not used to living with them. We checked out a night early and didn’t ask for a refund, we were just glad to be able to move on a get a decent nights sleep. Such a pity, because this really overshadowed what would otherwise have been a nice stay.
