Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We didnt even get in cause they didnt have our reservation in books. Even when it was confirmed.
Of course staff didnt speak English at all.
- Annika (2/5): VIKTIGT!
- Jacek (8/5): Good location - Great location. Many good restaurants around, short walk old market and castle.
More communication on how to collect keys would make checkin pleasant experience.
We wasted at least 40mins on walking around to find their office.
Advice : get soap to bathroom
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Have stayed at this apartment block over the last 5 years. The first 3 years it was superb! The first time I stayed I was met with the Keys and there was a small bottle of wine with a welcome card from the Amstra team, Unfortunately last year I was met with the keys to the apartment plus a charge for cleaning 50 Zloty. This year I was sent a text on arriving in Krakow with an address to pick up the Keys before heading to Apartment. Plus the 50 Zloty charge Not ideal when you have heavy luggage to haul. The service used to be Exceptional, Sadly no more!! Still love Poland and its people!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Apartment was not as advertised, completely different to the pictures shown on Expedia for what I paid for.
Poor communication from hotel, turned up to check in location stated on booking confirmation- was told over the phone I was in the wrong place and that I had to come to the main office. They then proceeded to hang up the phone and I spent the next 30 minutes stood on the street attempting to call the company. Eventually 45 minutes later I found the office.
Apartment was clean, however shower door didn’t shut properly so water went all over the bathroom. The shower had almost no power to it which didn’t matter because we had lukewarm water for the entire stay- not ideal when it’s -1 degrees outside and you want to warm up.
Just to top it off the heating didn’t work properly so the apartment went from being a sweat box to a freezer every five minutes.
I wouldn’t recommend this apartment to anyone. Service was poor and the standard of hotel minimal
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location to the market square and felt very secure. Staff were also friendly and happy to help
- Verified traveler (4/5): Definitely not what you see in the photos... - Dirty - hair in the shower, dusty bathroom and stained walls and stained mattress.
Broken air conditioning, blinds and window treatments hanging off the wall, under stocked kitchen items (2 glasses?!) and only one hand towel - not bath towel, bathmat or kitchen dishcloth.
Terrible check in process, went to the address, they had no idea who I was. Had to call the hotel and walk to the main office to collect the keys with all my luggage. Rude staff, very dismissive, very disappointing accommodation when I was finally able to get access. Other people’s clothes and socks left in the wardrobe.
Main light isn’t working in the entrance and nobody came to respond and fix anything during my stay.
- Joanna (8/5): - It was a pleasant experience clean quiet apartment nice food for breakfast friendly service
- Megan (10/5): Amazing Value for money!! - The apartment was lovely, very quiet area and perfect for a short break!
- lynda (8/5): An excellent private apartment near the castle - When we finally got to our apartment it was excellent however the company that leases the apartments could do with a lot of improvement. They didn’t have any apartments ready for us despite confirming our booking the day before. The building where the office for collecting the keys isn’t signposted at all with their details. Our apartment wasn’t cleaned while we were there either and we were only given 2 towels. No mats to step out of the shower and no complimentary soap. However the apartment itself was top quality. Only 5 minutes walk from the main square and was fully equipped with kitchen utensils, a microwave, fridge and dishwasher and a washing machine in the private hall outside. I felt very secure as the building was key code entry and had 24 hour security.
- jay (4/5): Basic amenities and misleading as luxury apartment - We did not meet representative at first on arrival, but met very kind gentleman who spoke polish and phoned and organised representative to meet us.
concierge spoke no English but very nice gentleman.
No starter pack on flat or no water.
No instructions or map for city.
This was an open plan basic apartment, studio but misleading as titled as one bedroom apartment.
It had one double bed and sofa bed in lounge , which was separated from bed by half glass partition.
Double bed was small and with very poor mattress that led to back stiffness. No side table or lamps.
Bathroom at the other end of half bedroom!
Balcony very spacious but no chairs or table.
Kitchen under equipped and no microwave.
Bathroom lacked drainage and so after shower, water was accumulated.
We could not operate Tv.
Apartment representative was very courteous with good English but could not do anything for our issues.
We eventually got relocated next day to another very nice apartment.
- Verified traveler (6/5): spacious apartment close to city amneties - Good kitchenette and bathroom. shower was quite good. Breakfast was delivered every morning at 8.30am . Basic for vegetarians No restaurant. Super market was close by. Staff did not speak English at the store.
No hand towels in the bathroom. washing machine worked well. Drying was easier at the balcony. we paid 90 Zolty on arrival for cleaning and tax. No daily cleaning. Can get cleaning done for 70 or 80 Zolty per day.
Air condition was very poor. we had to keep the balcony door open at night also. Though complained, nothing happened. No English TV. WIFI was good.
for halal food, there was not any close by.
- Robert (4/5): What a difference a year Makes!! - When I arrived to pick up the keys to the apartment I was met by a lady with a " Chip and Pin machine" stating that there are now additional charges for Cleaning and Maintenance!! When I last stayed at the apartments 16 months ago there was a bottle of Prosecco and a welcome note from the Amstra team.(NO CHARGES) What a difference a year makes. very disappointing. The Apartment unlike my last stay did not have a Washing Machine, Also an Iron, but NO board. bizarre. otherwise it was fine.and a wonderful stay in beautiful Krakow.
- Coral (6/5): City break - Basic - all you need for a city break.
We paid for a balcony but had no chairs or table in order for us to sit out.
Comfort - was ok, room was warm and the shower was pretty good.
WiFi - good.
Breakfast was ok considering it’s delivered in a box. (Continental)
We didn’t use the kitchen area but it’s there if you need it, microwave and hob. Fridge and dishwasher.
Staff very responsive to emails (as they are never around) - security guards don’t really acknowledge you.
Would stay again - nothing special but reasonable price.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Good location, room ok however a lot of minor jobs need fixing within the room. Very confusing upon arrival, as we arrived around midnight the reception door was locked by a code, lucky we was let in by the security guard however he didn’t speak any English. We then rang the number on a notice and someone came to show us to the room. Also when checking out the apartment was very confusing to find the office to leave our bags as our flight were only later on in the day. Communication between the customers and company need to be a lot better and a lot more professional.
- Tess (6/5): Close to the River side - It was dissapointing that the Bathroom door can`t be Close.
Somebody came to fix but doesn`t have tools with him. Went to get things he can use but never came back while we were there`. We Have to tie the door with a string everytime we needed to use the bathroom.
Sofa bed wasn`t prepared or ready.
Front desk is open 24 hrs. but can`t get any Information from anyone who was on duty. ( coudn`t speak or understand English.;
We have to call the main Office with our own private phone for any thing that is needed e.g towels, toilett paper.
- Rosemary (10/5): The apartment was in an excellent location. - We were met at reception area and taken to the apartment. Everything was explained to us.
- MPSS (10/5): MItt i centrum - Nära till allt. Nära till allt. Nära till allt. Nära till allt.
- daniel (10/5): A+ - I loved the experience: would return again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Safe, secure and convenient location! - A huge breakfast was delivered every morning by a friendly staff. The room had a complete kitchen with 4 chairs. We cooked dinner daily Front desk was very helpful. Well kept and very clean.
- Brian (8/5): Spacious apartment near the centre of Krakow - We had a great time on our 3 day trip. Taxi from the airport (John Paul 11) cab rank was 89 zloty, plus tip. Say £21. Transport around Krakow is very cheap but you can walk to the main tourist sites.
Incidentally, say John Paul 11 airport to a Krakow resident and they look blank. They call it Krakow aiport or Lotnisko.
Train back to the airport (ticket bought on board) was 18 zloty for two pensioners. Platform 3 at the train station.
The castle and cathedral are must see places. On our last day we left our hand baggage at the castle luggage office all day for no charge.
The old square was huge and surrounded by restaurants where you can drink or eat for very reasonable prices.
The Schindler factory is well worth a visit.
Next time we will visit the salt mine and the concentration camp.
- Carol (10/5): Close to the main square - Nice clean accommodation close to the square with self catering facilities and friendly staff.
- Fran (10/5): Close to the Old Town - Hotel was in an excellent situation. Close to the Old Town, the castle and close to the coach pick up area for the excursions to the Salt mines and Ausweitz.
- Jane (8/5): Birthday break in Krakow - booked this as a surprise for my husband. I based my decision on previous reviews. Disappointed as the apartment didn't have a fantastic view, it was clean but the toilet seat was broken, if the toilet had been cleaned this would have been noticed, took 48 hours before being fixed. With the nice weather, balcony furniture would have been nice. The bed was comfortable, and the breakfast provided was plentiful. Still working on apartments upstairs so was woken up at around 8am each day by workmen.
- Conor (10/5): Close to everything, Jewish quarter and market sq - Excellent apartments. Very modern and close to all the popular places. The only downside was that the sofa bed was not that comfortable as a sofa and the TV had no channels suitable for English speaking guests. Apart from those minor things the apartment was perfect
- dawn (10/5): Christmas break - Really well located apartment in old town central to everything.Everything that you need is supplied and very secure there was a 24hr security even on xmas day
- Sam (10/5): - Great location, only 5 minutes or so walk from the main square. Helpful staff and tidy apartment
- Milka (10/5): Great apartment!!! - Great apartment for good price at excellent location!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Holiday - Location is great and the room is clean and comfortable
- Mike (8/5): September in Krakow - We spent a couple of days in Krakow. Had an eight hour walking tour. Saw all the key sites. Experienced wonderful Polish food. Recommend exchanging US dollars at a Kantor on the outskirts of the grand square of Rynek Glowny since you'll get more for your money.
- Roham (8/5): - The location was really good, the unit was good, overal we were happy and got what they advertised
- meg (10/5): Excellent a and very quiet - Loved staying there would stay there again very central to old town and market square
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a great location - close to sights, but far enough away to be low key.
- Joy (8/5): Studio Apartment in a Quiet Neighborhood - While it is true that the hotel staff are available 24hrs, they are not on site and you have to call them (which will cost you since there is no phone in the room). We picked the option for breakfast included and someone brought a bag with meat, cheese, bread, juice, yogurt, etc to our room each morning around 8:30am. They were a little stingy with the towels...we got two...no hand towel or foot towel. Very quiet neighborhood, fairly easy walking distance to old town. Having a fridge was nice. The air conditioning never did cool down the studio...we slept with the balcony door open.
- Jose (8/5): Wthin walking distance to attractions - Nice modern apartment in the city center within walking distance to the attractions, very close to the Wawel castle and cathedral. Very nice stay altogether.(tip, since it is close, one person can walk early to buy your tickets to the castle and pick the right arriving time, and then come back later to the attraction. We waited 1 hr in line for the ticket office. Also, there are two ticket offices and everyone goes to the first one. Watch the map at the entrance).
The good: Heater and heater in bathroom (that week was very cold), kitchen included washer / drier, big screen tv, lots, good space, underground safe parking available, porter at the door, Luxury ans comfortable apartment
The bad: Very little actually. The apartment needs some maintenance: Some lights not working, front door squeaks bad, kitchen extractor does not work, breakfast is not served but brought to you by one of the staff members, and the management is not in the building so we had to wait for them to come (it was fast though). The porter does not speak English, so we just had to show him the email with the reservation and luckily he was willing to call them (I had no roaming service). Not much chance to ask questions about the city though.
Communication with management can be done through WhatsApp. I would definitely stay here again, but probably would select No to the breakfast option.
- Anthony (10/5): Awesome - It was great
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good place, but no receptionist on premises - Very clean and modern place - couple drawbacks were that the tv was not working and that the apartment is located within a separately run building so it's a security guard rather the hotel receptionist.
So if you want to leave your bags, you need to call the company and then you can walk five minutes and drop off your bags when their office is open.
Location is good - near the wawell cathedral/castle and about a shirt five minute walk from the square.
- JB (6/5): Modern - but not quite luxury - Not inclined to base my entire experience on a mismatched plate or a some threads hanging from a towel but here are a couple of things that are probably worth mentioning for you to make up your own mind.
Let's start with the positives. Great location, decent size with small balcony and terrifically warm. Walking distance to everything - we managed two big suitcases to and from the train station in approx 20 mins as a guide. 24 hour supermarket and bottle shops a 4 min walk away.
All the furniture and fittings are essentially IKEA - nothing wrong with that as many rentals are, but helpful for the full picture. The bed was comfortable - but the pillows supplied were only one per person and thin. The doona was the right warmth - but a little too short and narrow for the size of the bed with two people in it. The 'Amstra' branded towels and sheets were clean - perhaps a little past their functional best, as was the bedspread that could use a good dry clean.
We like a little self catering and the room had a frypan and saucepan however no utensils or a decent knife to cook with so you have to be creative with the cutlery. There was a decent kettle - but no toaster in the room. The bathroom was clean, the shower has good pressure and a great body wash is supplied - but no floor mat for the shower exit and when we arrived the toilet seat was not mounted to the bowl.
Loved Kraków and none of the above were earth shattering problems that couldn't be creatively handled.
- Colette (10/5): Loved this little condo! - Was warmly received at the reception and my envelope containing keys and instructions were there as expected.
What an adorable little condo!Nicely appointed & decorated - my favorite was the hot pink kitchen cabinets! After settling in, we wandered out to see the surroundings - we were a mere 7-minute walk away from the Rynek in one direction, and even closer to the waterfront and Wawel Castle. Would highly recommend for any visitors to Krakow.
- Patricia (10/5): - Lovely modern apartment in a great location. Transfer to and from the airport was organised for us and we opted for trips to auschwitz and the salt mines with the same driver. Our driver/guide, Lucas, was fantastic. Really friendly, full of info and very helpful. Highly recommend.
- Stuart (10/5): Great location, very clean and modern apartment. - Great location, very clean and modern apartment. Great value, would recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful, spacious, clean apartment - Very enjoyable stay, prompt, effortless service
would book again
