- Joe (7/5): - The Islander was really good with good service. Staff were all professional and courteous. The disappointment came from booking.com, which did not provide the room as booked. Oceanfront king suite. We stared at the side of a building facing the shore and not the ocean. We have run into this more than once and prefer speaking and booking with someone from the hotel reservations desk, i.e. (no confusion with what is available). Third party without hotel knowledge.

- Matthew (10/5): - The location was great. Tho it lacks certain amenities of other hotels, it never claims to have those anyway. So you know what you are getting. I think it's the location that matters most. It's convenient to a large amount of great locations. Like the aquarium and Fort Makon for a few. Great nearby restaurants. And not for from many others. It was a wonderful time, and I hope to join The Islander again in the future. Nothing really. There wasn't anything we personally encountered that we didn't particularly like.

I paid extra to get a room with a view of the ocean and was given a room with a view of the secondary building and some palm trees. Could barely see the ocean. Im sure I was just unlucky and other rooms of the same price had better views. The pillows were also kind of worn out because they were very flat. Had to use 4 pillows just to be comfortable.

Easy to locate the facility, quiet area, room was clean and supplies were enough. Hope the ammenities were more complete like shower gel and lotion. Only few rooms facing the ocean and they are fully booked.

- Rebecca (9/5): Perfect location, great price, and clean room means we'll be staying here again in the future. - The location is perfect, of course. Easy access to the beach, but also within walking distance of food, drinks, and family activities. The room was clean, and the parking was easy. Staff members were friendly. A small issue for me was the lack of accessible charging ports or wall plugs close to the beds. It wasn't a deal breaker, but I may bring an extension cord on future visits. The dehumidifier is obviously a necessity, but it was loud. Again, not a deal breaker at all.

- Adrian (8/5): Friendly, clean and reasonable if you're looking to go to Emerald Isle beach. - Friendly, clean and reasonably priced, right on the beach (the only hotel in this area this close) Room 126 is the worst location- literally 2 feet away from the garbage and housekeeping cart storage. Noisy carts pass by early in the morning. The first morning we were awoken at 7am by upstairs work - hammering and drilling (not ideal as we were there to rest- my mom was recently hospitalized). We sent a message to the hotel but no response. Another note, the bathtub has no plug (although housekeeping was kind enough to provide one) and it is super dangerous getting in and out of tubs, with no rails or grips of any kind. I hope no-one gets hurt.

They took a genuine interest in the satisfaction with our stay. The location is clean and well equipped, plenty of parking, walkable places to go, very accessible beach access. We always look for a hot tub or spa amenities when we travel, not required but would be a plus.

- Gayle (6/5): - It was by the ocean. It was convenient to stores. Pay to upgrade to a room with a balcony and the view was the roof of the rest of the resort. They only have 4 rooms with ocean view. Not a place to visit in the off season.
