Die Holzhäuschen verfügen über alles was man für einen Aufenthalt benötigt. Das Personal ist sehr nett und das Essen im Restaurant gut. Wer auf der Durchreise ist, kann sich hier gut erholen. Jederzeit gerne wieder!

- Kim (9/5): Superb - Lovely accommodation at an amazing place! The view was spectaculair. We loved it so much
- Beatriz (9/5): Superb - this place is totally underrated. the owner needs to take better photos. we stayed in the lower level which were smaller cabins down in this fantastic rustic "woodchopper cabin" style of unfinished logs.
stunning view from the balcony to see the lights of (i think) san isidro. higher altitude forest around there is beautiful as well.
squeaky clean as is usual in Costa Rica
- Barry (7/5): Good -
- Mick (9/5): Superb - Staff was very nice. First night in hotel was fine, hotel very basic. Moved to bungalo for last 3 nights, place was very nice. The shower was hard to get warm water. But they came to look at it every time we complained
- Oliver (10/5): Exceptional - Great location! I'd stopped here previously to eat, but hadn't realised there was accommodation. The cabins are great: really cozy wooden interiors, well equipped with coffee maker, nice shower and outdoor chairs. We had a fantastic view out over the valley. The cabins are down the hill a bit so you don't heard the highway at all.
There's a nice network of trails down by the cabins which proved excellent for birding. And of course, the hummingbird feeders are amazing.
- Jenny (10/5): Amazing views and beautiful birds on all the feeders - Fabulous delux bungalow Steep climb up to the restaurant
- Nicholas (9/5): Beautiful location, quiet, good restaurant, lots of birds. - Beautiful location, nice cabins. Good restaurant, lots of birds. Need to have car for transport
- Oscar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Omi (10/5): Nice spot for the bird watching - It was amazing seeing all the different birds from their restaurant patio. I saw way more kinds of birds including two tucans from here than from the actual birds watching tours. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Nice city view too.
- Brian (2/5): - We got to the hotel our resevation was in there system, buf they told us it was canceld, we contacted expedia, everything was to be as booked, Hotel had a room but would not honor our booked rate, so we went elsewhere
- Lucas (9/5): Superb -
- D’ambrogio (8/5): Very good -
- Mecca (7/5): Good - The rooms and view are beautiful and it’s a quiet retreat No coffee provided nor microwave, TV, or mini fridge in room. The food at the restaurant was not great.
- Stephen (8/5): Good, cool rest in the mountains. - Very simple, rustic experience as we expected. Very good location, with excellent view from our terrace and situated in a forest. Room was simple but clean, bathroom good, good wifi. Restaurant on site was simple, but had very good food Some will find it difficulty to drive or walk down steep hill from reception down to parking and rooms. This should be made very clear as this is not an accessible location for anyone but those who are well and fit.
- Pierre (8/5): Very good - We love the setting and the views were great. We liked the rustic "dude ranch" aspects of it.
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Adriaan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Justin (10/5): Beautiful stay - Beautiful rooms with a stunning view of the city. Very quiet at night. The breakfast was amazing, and it was lovely having hummingbirds flying around.
- Eric (8/5): Accommodating - Good location Like it all
- Michel (7/5): Good drive through hotel. - The rooms looking really nice, cabin feeling.
The view is beautiful. The rooms are clean
No other facilities than a bed in the room.
No fridge, no water cooker, this would have been a big plus. The walls were thin so very noisy.
We could literally follow the conversation from our neighbour who where just talking.
There were not much people so it was not a big problem but I can think that if it is busy that it can be.
- Claudia (6/5): Pleasant - A fantastic view from the terrace in front of the rooms Little space, the lights were too dark
- Anja (9/5): Superb - view restaurant already closes at 6pm
thin walls - you hear every word that is spoken in the neighbouring room
- Jordan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angel (8/5): We had a wonderful short stay here - The views from your room and the deep trail into the jungle! Also It was a very affordable stay! Not many vegan \ vegetarian options or alternative milks for their delicious coffee but they did accommodate us with a fabulous vegan breakfast
- Elie (10/5): Exceptional - The view, the atmosphere, the personnel, the natural setting, the food, etc I did not stay longer
- Alexander (6/5): Pleasant - I like the view, breakfast is good. Standard rooms are basic but have all that is needed
- Natalie (10/5): - A simple yet wonderful place. All rooms have fantastic views of the valley and the property has nice jungle trails to walk on. We stayed at the bungalow, which is probably their best room. It is very private, clean and has a great deck overlooking the jungle and the valley. I walked into the room, looked at it and the view and walked right back up to the reception to book another night.
- Gordon (8/5): Very good -
- Rosaly (9/5): Excellent, clean and cozy hotel with a beautiful view - Loved everything about this place! Beautiful hotel that gives off a “chalet” vibe. Gorgeous surroundings, my partner even saw an armadillo in the garden! Very clean, there were many blankets to fight off the cold of the mountains, the bed is comfy, hot shower, staff is really friendly. We bought a bottle of red wine and made use of the wine glasses provided. We stayed 2 nights and got breakfast for free. I read comments about traffic noise, but as a light sleeper it didn’t bother me at all. The restaurant closes at 6PM.
- Ernesto (9/5): Great! - Fantastic view of the valley
- Kylie (9/5): Superb - First of all, Diego and his family run a great hotel with very kind and prompt hospitality. They included breakfast, helped with excursions and the restaurant offered a nice menu for dinner as well. The excursions that they have on site were incredible. We loved the quick sign up and the caring team that took care of us. We went zip lining and did an ATV tour. Lucas and Isaac were the best. My husband and I were celebrating our honeymoon and the whole team at Mirador made it a very special time. I would 10/10 recommend!!
- Graham (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about this accommodation was brilliant. There was nothing not to dislike.
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hai-uyen (10/5): Exceptional - Hummingbirds! Great food at the restaurant, easy check in Hot water was very difficult to manage
- Nick (8/5): Very good - Great views and location for bird watching. Lots of tours came through. Very helpful staff and v helpfultobe able to use bar area during the day.. Food reasonably priced Breakfast unavailable before 8am (all other CR hotels weve stayed have been from 7am at latest) and quite limited. Would have been nice to have fruit as well.
- Boris (4/5): - The rooms were alright. The walls were paper thin and our bathroom toilet wasn't completely attached to the floor resulting in a strong smell of sewer gas. The property is located on a hill next to a main highway. The noise of trucks using engine retarder bakes is deafening day and night.
- Mary (9/5): Room with a view!! - This hotel is in a very remote location off of a main highway with beautiful views of the mountains. The restaurant has amazing trout, that is their specialty. The people were super friendly. The bed was quite comfortable as were the pillows. Our room was spacious with a very large shower and plenty of hot water and good water pressure . They provided a body wash/shampoo in the shower, if you’re OK with that you don’t need to bring your own. I always bring my own travel make up mirror wherever I go and I did need it here. There is no heat or air conditioning in the room, but it wasn’t needed. They do provide extra blankets & the Wi-Fi was really good. The humming birds were plentiful and peaceful to watch. They gave us free breakfast because we stayed for two nights. That was a pleasant surprise. there is a steep walk or drive to and from the room.
- Audrius (9/5): Superb - Great location, lots of birds Heavy transport and its noise at night in the mountains
- Ian (8/5): - We stayed one night the views were amazing and the hummingbirds at the feeders were incredible to watch along with all the other birds around the hotel. The food was also very good we had breakfast and an evening meal. The rooms were lovely all wood inside like a log cabin.
- Ken (8/5): Very good -
- Elly (9/5): zip lining on the property ( highly recommend it). the view is breathtaking. staff are very helpful and friendly. - The view is breathtaking. Beds are comfortable. restaurant is excellent, friendly staff and reasonably priced with many options on the menu. trucks downshifting at night but you are well of the road. it didn’t bother us . lots of positives about this hotel.
- Mary (10/5): - The lovely view and great food on top of everything else 😋
- Veronica (10/5): Aloha from Hawaii - Gorgeous lush, flora surrounded the entire hotel. Diego was very helpful….knowledgeable…..cordial…..courteous. A family oriented accommodation at its best. Even the Mama made us feel at home…sharing her plants and expertise. The breakfasts were quite filling….very tasty. Hummingbirds at both feeders at the restaurant were quite mesmerizing. Beyond a five star rating.
- David (10/5): Great spot in hills near San Isidro De El General - Beautiful family-owned and run hotel perched on a mountainside overlooking a gorgeous valley. The rooms have thin-walls, can hear your neighbors a little too well. But over all, just a terrific spot. Food at the restaurant was quite good, and a perfect place to catch the sunset.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Really, really friendly and helpful staff... awesome views!
- Celia (10/5): - We had a terrific room with a terrific view and terrific bed. We came in the very rainy season and the staff was very accommodating- always picking us up ! Perhaps more towels , more bathroom hooks since the air is so humid! The Wi-Fi very stable and TV in the room has multiple excellent channels . We even discovered some new ones!
Food delicious and bird watching a great bonus ! Many hummingbirds vie for the feeders. Be careful, they might dive bomb you!
Did zip lining and the staff was super caring and helpful. I can recommend this place without hesitation!
- MARK (8/5): - Nice place.
- Steven (10/5): Wonderful hotel with fantastic staff and views - Wonderful location. Beautiful view right outside of your door. The price was outstanding and included a full breakast (either U.S. style or Costa Rican). The restaurant was excellent. Everyone treated us wonderfully and were incredibly kind and friendly. Be aware that these are typical well ventilated cabin style rooms and not a U.S. style hotel. This means that you can hear the guests next door at times. This was not a problem for us as everyone that was staying was there for a nice quiet stay. The coffee in the restaurant was excellent and they have it for sale to take with you. I highly recommend Mirador Valle and will stay there again next time I'm in the area. You may see from other reviews that it is a bit of a climb up to the restaurant but keep in mind that you can drive up and park at the top if it is too taxing. I personally, enjoyed the small hike.
- Raymond (8/5): Great mountainside view - Had a great time and comfortable stay. Lots of nature. Many different kinds of birds. The view of the valley is breath taking. A must stay.
- leroy (6/5): Great mountain side view of the valley. - Great view. The check in went good. The trip to the room was different. Drive down a steep trail to a parking area and then it’s a bit of a walk down a cement walk. A bit of a challenge to pull luggage back up to car. Over all it was worth it.
- Rod (10/5): Beautiful view and gardens - The staff was great and waited for us for a late check in. We arrived after dark and the room was clean and nice. When we woke up the view was amazing with the clouds slowly rising out of the valley. The landscape was immaculate and beautiful and breakfast was perfect. Would definitely recommend and will be back. Thanks
- Roee (10/5): Amazing view - Amazing view. Very nice room. Hot water and good shower.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place to stay in the mountains of Costa Rica - Only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed longer. Very comfortable clean room for a very reasonable price. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped me with a problem I had with a rental car by calling the car rental company and providing the directions for them to bring a replacement car. The food here was excellent at reasonable prices. The view is spectacular. We saw lots of neat birds while sitting right in the dining room porch. Great bird watching location. Swallow tailed kites are in view almost constantly.
- alan (10/5): A++++ - We stayed for 2 nights while on vacation. The view from the room was jaw dropping. I could sit on the deck for days looking at the mountains. The owners were caring, helpful and really made our stay outstanding. The food was awesome!!!! Will definitely stay again when we get back to area
- Julie (10/5): - Wonderful views, great breakfast. Loved seeing all the birds
