Guest Reviews
- Danny (8/5): i am happy - the room is clean and comfortable. nothing
- Carl Lipscombe (8/5): -
- Ross (10/5): Clean and comfortable apartment, great team friendly and helpful. - Great central location
- Harlem (10/5): -
- Michelle (5/5): - very close to the Council building where I needed to be, room was clan and nice and big I was a bit disappointed to find out that there was no hotel parking, and could not order dinner or breakfast after my initial booking
- 墨舍儿 (10/5): -
- Jane (2/5): Very disappointed - Not much. The shower pressure was good. Holes in the walls, rusted horrid rubbish bin in bathroom, impossible car park that didn’t work for anything larger than a very very small car, paint peeling off wall in bathroom.
- Nikisha (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Gill (8/5): Very Clean, spacious and well equipped - Clean ,spacious ,well equipped but walls a bit thin
- Kim (8/5): -
- Peter (8/5): Great -
- Turner (9/5): Pleasant easy walk to cafes & restaurants and good large lounge/dining area in 2 bedroom unit - Large room with great facilities in the centre of the city Access to reception from on street parking only. It would have been nice to know to leave our luggage in the car until we had access to our park under the hotel. Parking very tight
- Wilson (1/5): Horrible, if you want to sleep, get another place. - The bed was good. There was an air conditioning unit on top of my ceiling which belonged to another room as my wasn’t on, it shook the ceiling all night until 5:44, literally spent whole night awake.
- Ben (8/5): -
- Robert (9/5): Great apartment in the heart of Whangarei. - Location, large modern apartment, regularly cleaned, well equipped kitchen with a good size fridge, microwave, oven, washing machine and dryer, two TVs with free movies and air conditioned. No on site parking, had to use council parking at $2 per hour. Although no charge between 6pm - 8am.
- Joanne (8/5): - My room was great, loved the layout. Great that the aircon was in the bedroom v's the lounge. Very clean. Location was very central for our requirements. Rooms over the road front were noisy apparently.
- sarah (7/5): Ok. Good for farmers market. Heavy traffic just outside to front door. - Clean. Centrally located but I’d book another place next time. Limited parking which needs to be precooked. Our bad but we didn’t realise that you had to book in advance. We had an unlocked trailer that we ended up taking to secure parking at the airport overnight for $15. We also arrived on a public holiday & there’s an unmanned reception. The instructions to get in weren’t brilliant.
- Ian (9/5): Ideal one night stay - Our room was spacious clean and comfortable with the reception staff both on arrival and departure very helpful and friendly all was good for us
- Alison (4/5): - Location Poor quality of pillows and linen
Very difficult to gain access after hours - used the intercom and had a long wait to get any help
There was no on-site parking available for us & it had been promised
- Peter (5/5): good location, well overpriced - Good location, staff very friendly and helpful. Only one aircon in main room, had to have on high and leave doors open to get into the bedrooms.
One bedrrom as window outside, blind does not stop any lgiht getting in, so doent get dark till late and light early.
Main bedrrom has a window to the rest of apartment, with no blind, so if Tv on when going to bed then light comes thru and cannot be shut down.
Also no cleaning on Sunday, as np staff, but same price as rest of week, this day should be discounted.
Lift didn't work on last day and as no reception unless 2 to 5pm there is never anyone to ask problems during most hours.
- lee (1/5): Overpriced and awkward to get keys and parking. Not suitable for disabled people -
- kristal (6/5): was nice, enjoyed it - the room was nice an quiet for the most part. had a road sweeper go passed lol but loved the black out certins. made the room nice an dark so i could sleep well the wall paper was coming off around the shpwer an one of the shower walls wasnt glued so it had lifted off.
the parking was a pain. very small gaps the poor person beside us wouldnt of been able to get in as it was super close an tight
- Vaughan (8/5): - Great Location, comfortable room we will defiantly stay again> we have stayed here in the past no complaints
- Petrina (5/5): - Room was comfortable and clean. Arrived after hours so process could have been better.
- Vaughan (8/5): Excellent - Great location
- Eugene (8/5): great room -
- Alain (3/5): - Pubic hair on vanity. Locked out during power cut
- Leslie (9/5): - It was definitely a dated property but overall it was okay for what we needed. I felt it was a bit expensive given it was one night in a studio, but no complaints in terms of cleanliness or others. It had what we needed for the night and was located central to everything. Check out could’ve been explained better as there were no staff around when we left at 9am.
- Eugene (8/5): -
- Mike (8/5): -
- Lucy (5/5): Good - Room Having to pay for the parking and no communication for what time you need to be on the premises before staff leave the property.
- David (7/5): Cozy, relaxing and central location and a clean and tidy one bedroom apartment - Spacious apartment, generally good facilities Noisy plumbing in the bathroom en suite - went all night long and disrupted our sleep
- Cédric (5/5): - Le parking disponible
- ZA-NE (3/5): Very expensive - Great location. Chairs filthy, lamps not working in two of the three bedrooms, a dishwasher in the apartment wasn't working. The location
- leanne (9/5): -
- Cory (1/5): Pathetic . Quest is meant to be nice but this was yuck - Nothing No email about where to park , where to get key from . No communication at all
- Hayden (8/5): -
- Toni (7/5): -
- Tracy (6/5): - Clean, spacious room Noisy water pipes.
- CHOMRERN (8/5): -
- Diane (8/5): -
- aimee (1/5): Poor, disappointing - Nothing - was worst hotel I’ve ever stayed Rude staff
Lying/dishonest staff
Ridiculous parking
- Bev (5/5): - Location Lack of fresh air
- Guest (8/5): -
- Nilesh (5/5): - Central Person at reception needs customer service skills. Also websites should give details that parking at quest costs additional.
- Chris Potgieter (8/5): -
- James (9/5): -
- Anup (5/5): Not worth the money - The bedroom was comfortable Entry to the property is very confusing and unfriendly. Even though we paid for the basement parking, the parking is very congested and difficult (took us half hour to park !). The location is good- in the middle of town, but the apartment has no views or any interesting features. They even charge a credit card processing charge !! On top of the already hefty tarrif. Overall not worth the money.
- Kristy (9/5): -
- Danika (9/5): Nice place to stay - Location was close to shops and restaurants Parking was a little tight to get our car in
- Chris (8/5): -
- Juliet (7/5): - Parking terrible.
- Waha (10/5): -
- Michelle (3/5): Bad and not recommended. - Not much Was poor location, arrived after 16:30 on weekend with no front desk. Received email just prior with some instructions but once on site , not much was clear. Difficult instructions to understand on intercom, so not easy to get in. Parking took 30 minutes to figure it out, all on our part. If you plan on doing your own meal good luck… not much appliances or utensils. The city itself was dead at 5 pm on a Sunday, not much open except grocery. Appartement itself was ok ish but would definitely not recommend. Compared to other Quest that I staid at, was not up to par.
- Mary (7/5): -
- Hickmott (7/5): - The room was large and comfortable. Being left on the street late at night without after hours calling back to let us in
- Mark (7/5): Excellent staff, nice facilities, heart of town, will stay again - I am enthralled with Lina who went far and beyond to help my wife and I. She offered some good solution. I was at a conference at Forum North. It was only two blocks away which was really convenient. I paid slightly more to have parking inside the building. Access to the facilities was easy. It was an odd shaped room, but I enjoyed that bit of quirk. The sink and closet were nice. The WiFi was easy to connect to and adequate to be useful. The room had some funny noises in it. I'm pretty sure it was the plumbing in the room above. It was a loud screeching noise. The room was noisy from the street and more than a bit of light leaked in from the windows. The water pressure was inadequate. I almost got burned when my wife flushed the toilet while I was in the shower. The shower water temperature fluctuate often. There was no switch for the exhaust fan. I really wanted to have a smart TV so I could connect and watch Netflix from my mobile phone.
- Georgina (1/5): Second rate. Very dated hotel with potential but none taken. Don't waste your money staying here. - The location was ok We were the only ones at the hotel and we were put in a dated room that was clearly the most convenient for the staff. A higher floor would have been nice. Dirty iron and worn ironing board. A view of a neighboring wall.
- Debrah (10/5): Great overnight stay, easy to check in. Very convenient, clean and tidy. Would recommend and would stay again next time - Very clean, beds comfortable. Easy access from the carpark In the heart of town centre
- peter (4/5): - the room was tatty and needed redecorating
- Clive (9/5): - Location was great - heart of the CBD Reception not open all day
- Adam (5/5): Noisy - NA The noise
- Hector Luis (8/5): - Town based and very close to shops and the mall. The rooms were good sizes and the kitchen and dinibg area have the basics we need. Old and dated. The room smelled as soon as we opened it, smelled like it hasn't been used for a long time
- Harlem (10/5): -
- Mark (10/5): -
- Paula (6/5): Disappointing - Loved how clean it was We couldn't get in easily and after about 10 minutes on hold rang a duty manager directly. Never saw any staff except the cleaner, who deserves a raise.
One half of the bed was awful, almost destroyed.
The shower was clearly shared, and both the water pressure and temperature fluctuated wildly.
Very noisy, with internal and external noises thru the nights.
- Rosalie (10/5): Great location - Fabulous location quick walk to city centre and restaurants. Room was very spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful
- Debbzand2 (7/5): I would stay again for the location - do not expect luxury or extras. - The location was great - very basic and a little shabby. But clean enough. Frustratingly not enough coffee, tea or milk to have 2 cups. I would like to have enough coffee, tea and milk - also a map/explanation on how to 'find' the office for check in - very confusing.
- Paora (10/5): - Close to all amenities and transport, didn't hear any noise from the other rooms Paying extra for parking
- Giles (8/5): Great spot for a business trip - Great location. Walking to the river. Found some nice cafes and food nearby.
- Clint (5/5): unpleasant - When I selected my options for EV charging, parking and gym, it appears that this is all included when you select the options. You have to call actually to book the EV charging station, and the gym isn't on-site, it's down the road first in firrst served basis. The road noise for hoons was very loud tell midnight and started up again at 5am. I just dont think it is represented properly in the options
- Treena (8/5): -
- Rachael (7/5): Good location close to centre - Good location close to centre Expensive for what it was
- Rachael (7/5): Central location for work trip - Good location Bit pricey compared to other Quests around the island
- Chrissie (10/5): - well equiped kitchen only thing was when power was turned off the fridge did not keep food cold
- Jean Philippe (8/5): -
- Stephanie (9/5): -
- Lyn (8/5): -
- Bob (8/5): Had an enjoyable couple of days. - Very handy to most facilities-the reason we chose Quest. Insufficient coffee sachets provided. Lounge chairs weren't very comfortable.
- John (10/5): - The Quest is in a great location and the rooms spacious and have great facilities. The are extremely helpful and we always our stay.
- Danielle (10/5): -
- Stephanie (10/5): - Fantastic location big room, extremely clean
- John (10/5): - It’s in a great location the rooms are spacious and comfortable
- Steven (10/5): - Good location and nice and clean
- Lyn (9/5): Superb -
- Marina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joey (7/5): Good -
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (3/5): Poor - Location was good. Reception unmanned on arrival. We arrived before the check in time of 2pm and wanted to drop bags off. Notice outside the reception said reception open from 9am - 4pm but reception was locked with security gates.
same thing on check out the following morning.
Cost was excessive for a basic room.
- Debra (9/5): Quiet, safe & comfortable - Easy booking, check in & check out.
Food delivery
Comfort Small milk pottles, not enough if wanting more than 3 hot drinks.
Be nice to have plunger coffee, or body lotion for price paid.($349)
- Harrison (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anderson (10/5): Great location! - Very clean and modern Nil
- Helen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anne (2/5): Very poor -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Anderson (10/5): Great apartment! - Clean & modern Nil
- Renae (8/5): Very good -
- Richie (5/5): Decent room but overall not impressed for price - The location was central which made it easy to get food & go out places. The room clean & bed comfortable. Reception was locked on arrival, had to call the phone number then was kept waiting for 20 minutes before front of house came out, once there they said they were not aware of our booking the took ages to do the check in process & instead of trying to help us attempted to sell us parking, pretty bad experience after a 2.5 hour drive. If it was me I would have offered free parking to smooth over the situation. Once in the room we found no body wash, shampoo or conditioner which again shows that they were not prepared for our booking. For the money paid $235 I would not go here again, we recently stayed in Whangārei again for around $158 per night and had a much better experience overall due to the check in experience, free parking & the room being prepared at a far better rate.
- Chris (7/5): Good -
- Lyn (9/5): Superb -
