Guest Reviews
- Sheryl (8/5): - Bed was comfy! Location is very convenient as there are bus stops, restaurants and convenient stores in walking distance. 1 thing tho we finished our glass bottle of water in the room but it was not refilled the next day. Probably need to request for it to be refilled.
- Gordon (6/5): - Reasonably priced and clean. Handy to beach, transport and eating options. The bed was comfortable.
The advertising pictures were very different from the reality. Property is very tired, and in a rundown building.
- David (10/5): A night in Batu F - Overnight in Batu F.
Very welcoming hotel, basic but value for money.
Arnold on reception was very helpful.
- COCO LAI (2/5): Smelly dirty and noisy - Dirty, blanket smelly never change and wash.noisy at night, lift really smelly and dirty.i read the comments tot it is very clean hotel but totally different.super disappointed.sinking was block. Do not recommend. The wall many spider web.
- Jack (8/5): - Very clean. Air con was nice a a cool. The staff we were served by were friendly and helpful.
We had trouble finding the place cause it is on the second floor, but I thought ground floor was the first floor. So it's the third level. 2nd floor.
It's a pretty good location since it's close to a bunch of stuff.
The sinks in the bathrooms of the two rooms we booked drained slowly which isn't great. Don't expect toilet paper. Expect to use the bidet or bring your own toilet paper (then again, we didn't ask for any, maybe they would have given it).
Breakfast was provided in our booking, but it was just nasi lemak that was probably tapau from some place nearby. It was fine but just don't expect a buffet or anything.
We booked two rooms and they gave us two rooms which had a connecting door between them which was pretty nice.
Over all quite happy with the place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice place to stay, good location. Transportation is around.
They provided home made breakfast, the only one concern that it starts at 9 am, so plan in advance.
- Arnold (8/5): Overall Comment - It was a shock feom the outside (whole building) and surprise from the inside (the hotel & room)... fair for the price and friendly staff... 🙂
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Okla, not so bad
- Sin (8/5): Good value. Convenient location - Near the beach but no beach view. Still gotta walk a bit. Good value for money. Convenience stores, food stalls and bus stop within walking distance. Gets a bit quiet after dark.
- Alex (4/5): - 1st, place was hard to find.
2nd, you're sleeping in a shoplot converted to rooms.
3rd, tried checking in at 3pm and nobody was around. Had to call the number at the door and waited about 10 mins for someone to show up. That person felt that checking-in wasn't her job.
4th, gave us the wrong room type (had asked for a suite but gotten a duplex. Tried changing but woman who thought this wasn't her job just shrugged her shoulders.
5th, walls was paper thin. Ringing phone at the reception can be heard from all rooms.
The good ... room was nice and clean. No amenities though but for the price, it is OK. Windows cannot be opened and you wouldn't want to draw the curtains down as it faces the shop-lot corridor.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Roomies Suites, Ferringhi Beach - Good-value room a hop away from Golden Sands Resort. We were travelling as a family with a small child.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - this hotel is possibly the worst hotel i've ever stayed in...its basically in a rundown building on the 2nd floor with no checkin procedure..the escalators are rundown and not working...the rooms are so bad theres no windows...breakfast was being cooked in a dirty fry pan and how can you eat from that? i stayed one night and left...its a cheap hotel but for a few dollars more you can stay in a resort on the beach
- mulo (8/5): nice and comfortable hotel to stay.. - very nice, clean and comfort place to stay.. the staffs are friendly and helpfull..
- Amalina (8/5): Room space - I love the concept of loft that gives more space to the room, but maybe the management can provide light underneath it. Overall the room was okay!
- che (10/5): Ammit is the best.. - Love everything you guys have done.. Lovely.. Hey I got a land next to fig's tree hill resort 7acrs.. Let's do echo tourism chalet.. :)
- Hafiz (4/5): Windowless Stay - Place was hard to find at first. Its situated in an old mall. I was given a room without window and its a CONNECTING ROOM! Wanted to ask for change but the staff said all rooms were occupied (I dont think so). The family stayed beside my room was noisy during the night. I doubt they stayed there during the day. Room without window is terrible, it was my first time staying in a place like this. Top floor was doing some renovation i supose, I am able to hear drilling sounds. Nearby there is a bar, pumping loud music during the night. No tv channels, just movies played through flash drive.
- Jacqueline (8/5): Save money and also be cozy. - Exceeded my expectations. Gr8 omelette, view, clean, very helpful staff!
- Jaez (8/5): Reasonable price and stay. - Simple breakfast that you could choose either sandwich or pancakes and people only able to choose one. If not enough, could walk to the nearby food stalls to have more breakfast. The room that I had is come without the window and you won't know the time outside if you close all the light. So far so good for the stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent hotel with cheap price - Good hotel experience with cheap spending of money.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Looks run down from outside but it is actually very different inside
- Chee Leong (10/5): Room is clean and tidy. - Overall the room is clean and nice. But the surrounding area is a bit old and lack of maintenance. Also Wifi is a bit slow.
- Ken (8/5): Modern decoration - We loved the deco of the room, simplistic and clean. Movies are also provided in the TV.
- Soitgoes (8/5): Nice and quiet ambient to stay. - It was a pleasant stay, cozy ambient. Most friendly and helpful receptionist and it was a great first impression of the room. It like a homestay style. The room was clean, stylist with own design. Room itself was great equipped and pleasant. I love the bathroom arrangement too.
- Yeo (8/5): Comfortable, Nice, Clean Hotel - It is highly recommended for those who want travel at Batu Feringhi with budget style hotel.
Firstly, the environment of the hotel was so nice. You won't imagine there is a such beautiful hotel inside a old building.
Secondly, the breakfast provided even just a simple sandwich and maggie, but still delicious.
Thirdly, when u stay here, you will feel like just stay in your home.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - good for the price
- Amiya (2/5): - The locality was very shabby. Not sure how hotels.com made it part of its inventory.
- YuutHuny (10/5): The best hotel to stay in feringghi - I was sceptical abt the hotel at first. Located in an eary old shopping mall eden parade. But once i look into the room i was amazed. Its quite impressive actually. The room is clean, spacious, beautifully decorated n easy access to feringghi. Very satisfied. Except for the windows thats not tinted n tv with only few downloaded movies. Staff is superb. Would definitely come n stay here again. Kudos.
- Verified traveler (10/5): short escape - awesome xperience! like how we can hv bfast just like home. they dont hv restaurant or cafe so we hv it at living hall. just like at hommie.
staff are good. our room is comfy n clean.
one of our towel hv stain. should improve on this. will we stay again? yupp!
- Ahmad (10/5): - Very comforting
- Verified traveler (8/5): Value for money - The rooms were clean and comfortable definitely worth the price I paid.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Low budget hotel with the best condition. i think can't find other then this hotel
- Joyce (10/5): Fantastic stay! - Great ambience. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is nice and delicious.
- taz (8/5): Close to the beach - Unexpected as approached to the front of the building, satisfied by the room and staff. Wifi connection not that great.
- Lucine (8/5): Comfy stay - the room was awesome. just need some maintenance.
1) plug in toilet was not functioning
2) the toilet door lock was not functioning ( but still ok for me and my bf )
They stay was very pleasant . Would come back again in future.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It's near to the beach and easily accessible to bus stop and food stalls
- Verified traveler (10/5): Easy walk to beach abd other stalls - Well maintained. Friendly staff. Safe. Clean bath and toilets. Getting to 2nd floor can be tricky. Look for the hidden elevator
- Siti Hasniza (10/5): Great - Our stay in Roomies Suites was GREAT. The property were clean. The rooms were modern and cozy. The staff is well trained to look after all your needs. They seems very happy & liked their jobs. I highly recommend to have breakfast there, the food was simple and good! The location is perfect, convenience and its only take 5 mins walk to a seaside. Seriously, I love this place so much.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Lousy hotel. - The first sign of problems awaiting was when we were told to remove our footwear when we entered the hotel. The floor we stepped on barefooted was not clean. Next we were told that we did not have a window in our room. It was claustrophobic but we were told its a boutique hotel and didn't have windows in the rooms for fresh air to circulate. The rooms were not cleaned on a daily basis. Apparently you had to request the hotel to clean up. Further, the daily breakfast provided was Mee Goreng Mamak. No choice or variety and no eggs were served.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Stay, Convenient, Friendly Staff - Value for price since breakfast is included. Strategic location for hanging out at the beach, to have water sports, to have great seafood dinner, to chill for a drink, and to have a night walk at the night market. Nearer to eco adventure / nature parks if interested. Overall, great stay, friendly staff, room not really sound proof, but clean and comfortable. Recommended.
- Philip (6/5): Hotel near Batu Ferringhi - Good location to access beach and convenient place for meals and etc.
- Aiman (10/5): Awesome boutique hotel in Penang! - Very well recommended. Good hospitalities with friendly staff.
- Abayomi (8/5): Convenient , clean and friendly staff - The staff was friendly and helpful
- KYC (2/5): Feel like being deceived by them - Bad experiences
1) During check in, front desk telling me my room being occupied by others.
2) Willing to replace with other suites room, but the room totally different from what they promoted.
3) TV using USB with 10 movies, no ASTRO or local broadcasting channels
4) Room with no windows, no sofa as pictured in website
5) not worth for your money
Good Experiences
1) Day shift front desk very friendly
- Kata (6/5): - OK budget hotel, pleasant rooms, breakfast very limited (1 local dish vs. cereal with yogurt).
- Teik Lye (6/5): - Good
- Bethany (10/5): Great stay - We had a great time. The room was spacious and had was well designed. Big bathroom with a lovely shower. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. They provide breakfast from local vendures which is delicious.
Good location. Close to the night market and a short bus ride to the nature reserve and spice gardens.
Recommend!! Would stay here again
- Artur (8/5): Cosy stay at roomies - Roomies is a great little place to stay at. The staff is very friendly, the beds are comfortable and the location is not bad too.
- Ryan (6/5): OK value for a solo trip, but the building blows - I really want to rate the hotel higher than a 3, but it's situated in a run down shopping center. The elevator has some issues, and the escalators don't function. The check in staff was real nice, but the man who checked me out could have been more helpful procuring a cab. I'm used to hotel staff happily phoning a company to come get me, instead I left quite nervous I wouldn't find one that wouldn't try to gouge me on the cost to get to their airport (which they did).
One cool place in the center is Andrew's Kampung restaurant. The owner/server is super nice. Highly recommend going there.
- Ciaran (2/5): I would not recommend this place - I had a really disappointing stay at Roomies that was planned for 5 nights but only lasted 1. In that 1 night where I had booked 4 rooms for my parents and siblings we found;
- the photos on the site look great but they fail to show that there is a walk way all the way around the outside of the building so the curtains can't really be opened so it despite being in a very sunny location you are consigned to fluorescent light. The floor has other businesses on it too so there are lots of customers from other places walking by
- the staff will do nothing to stop kids playing outside your window at 2am
- breakfast is very limited. some lukewarm noodles were the best of what was on offer
- the day time staff try to be helpful but appear to be restrained from actually helping by some distant management that never came close to visiting or checking in on us despite leaving 4 nights early
Overall a very disappointing experience and wouldn't recommend this to anyone who likes sunshine or would like to be sure of a good nights sleep.
- Ng (8/5): Comfy & affordable - Had booked a loft room for 3 nights. Was quite scary on first night as it's first time sleeping on such height. Ladder seems quite steep for climbing. But really enjoyed the extra space under the loft. Like the beanie in the room. Very comfy! Room & toilet are clean & comfortable.
Location is good. Do take extra note for the name of this hostel as it's not the same as roomies penang. Eden parade has good food available nearby. Easy access to nearby public transports too. Access to beach is nearby too, directly in front of the petrol station.
Breakfast is simple & nice with choices. Feels really comfortable & secure there. Quite likely to go back here when we go penang again.
- Niko (8/5): hotel with good location and polite staff - Overall is good. Location is excellent, near to famous street food and there is malls nearby. Only thing is the parking is limited. Hotel staffs are friendly.
- justzu (10/5): Value for money - The hotel is located at Batu Ferringhi, a stone throw away from the beach and the popular night market. Its also a 5min walk from Long Beach Foodcourt. For the amount paid, it was very worth it. Pleasant stay with clean room and toilet. No complains.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff there are extremely helpful and friendly. Things that are not initially provided such as hanger can be provided upon request. They have a common area with beanies and sofa which makes it feels like home! There's a fridge at the common area for u to keep you drinks chilled too! 5 minutes walk away from the Batu Ferringhi beach. A very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend it.
