Guest Reviews
- Beberty (2/5): - Receptionist was terrible! Poor customer service
- Angela (10/5): - ottima struttura
- Einar Harald (6/5): Blandet opplevelse.
Tutto è andato come volevo. Consigliato
- Dorian (4/5): - The property was undergoing major remodeling, the room I was given was dirty, people were making noise very early in the morning :(
- Hiroshi (2/5): -
- Daniela (6/5): - Personale, molto gentile, letto comodo, doccia calda e ambiente pulito.
- Lawrence (6/5): - Hotel was simple but nice. Hotels.com said that check in was 2pm, when we got to the hotel they said that check in was 3pm. 3pm is fine, but they should be clear about details on the hotels.com site.
Not to close to the center of Milan, but the tram was close by and easy to get to the center.
Personale gentilissimo. Ottima posizione.
- javier (4/5): - Did not like the very small shower, the AC didn’t work, the ceiling in the bathroom was moldy, I liked the staff, the location was good
- silvano (8/5): - BUONO
- Elwira (4/5): Two stars is at least one to many. - Well, what can we say. This is supposed to be a 2-star hotel. Not quite sure if Hotel Marte deserve both their stars.
If your dream stay consist of pillows hard as rocks, no/unstable wifi, no hot water and no aircondition (unless you pay an additional 6 euros), this is the place for you. And if this doesn't scare you, make sure not to expect them to do refills on the breakfast buffet. Only thing left when we arrived at 8.45 (breakfast finished at 9.30) was croissants and chocolat spread.
If we come to Milano again, we will rather be further from the city center (hotel Marte isn't all that close anyway) and pay less for more comfort and higher standards.
- Salvatore (4/5): - Meglio lasciar perdere.
- Sameh (2/5): - Staff were not friendly, the reservation was with breakfast but they said you can get coffee and tea only. Also the reservation was included air-conditioning room but they said you have to pay 6€/night to turn the air-condition on.
Over all the worest two nights in my life.
- Jennifer (4/5): - Don’t stay here if you value your sanity. You can hear everything happening in the halls at all hours of the day. The bathroom is so small you can barely move. The front desk is rude and unhelpful and refuses to let you check in even a minute early. There is no elevator but there are tons of stairs and no one to assist you. It is not near any Milan attractions so expect to use the metro every day. You have to pay extra for air conditioning which is a scam because they know it is hot and travellers need it otherwise you’ll cook in their terribly ventilated rooms. Feels like a jail cell.
- Alice (2/5): - Una topaia. Sconsigliatissimo.
- SAAD (2/5): - Not happy with this hotel
- FrequentFlier79518 (2/5): One of the worst hotel experiences I had. - Booked via travel agents. Arrived (with warning) late one day because of the airline strike. They couldn't find the booking for a while and were exceptionally rude; at the point when they were kicking us out, my son saw our booking over the shoulder of the guy at the reception. 'Oh, I thought you were already in the room'. The room (for me and my son) was double bed instead of twin as booked. Hardly any food at breakfast. Charged the wrong amount for Milan tourist tax. We stayed in a different hotel for another night, at a lower price despite short-notice booking, and service was much better.
- giovanni (2/5): - Incommentabile e impresentabile
- Matilda (8/5): Good hotel - Nice hotel in a nice placement. The staff there were nice and very welcoming, will definetly come again if we’ll be in Milan. Worth of the money, we got a room with balcony.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Hotel has nothing to offer. Location although not horrendous is not appealing. And the rooms were horrible with no comfort.
- Jeff (2/5): - This is the worst hotel of all time, the owner is mean and greedy and so as the staff exept for the asian guy, they didn't allow visitors, very bad vibe...
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Struttura carina, senza ascensore. Camera e bagno molto piccoli.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The only thing we liked was that one of the desk clerks made our morning cappuccino well. Everything else was unacceptable to terrible.
First of all, I should have known something was up when I booked the hotel, confirmed there was air conditioning, and found in the fine print after our booking was confirmed that air conditioning costs 8 Euro a day extra. We traveled in July, so it is hot, and the hotel should have AC in working order in all its rooms. We paid more than 100 Euro a day-not including the city taxes and AC charge, for this hotel and this was the biggest mistake ever, as it is not even worth 50. The manager and clerk lied to us, telling us the AC was out and would be fixed the second day. They asked us to stay out of the hotel til after 6 so they could fix it. They did not fix it,but instead offered us one room for two with working AC and another room for two with a broken AC. We tried to find a different hotel but could not. The toilet leaked dirty toilet water all Over the floor upon flushing. The walls and coverlets were not clean looking. The shower was the smallest i’ve ever seen, even in Europe, barely bigger than the circumference of my body. One room they moved us to was a little more acceptable, but clearly they will rent you a crappy room here just to make a buck. Worst hotel stay of my life! Didn’t sleep in the heat even with a fan... and it took two requests and an hour for the guy to get the fan which took him 5 minutes. A noisy nightclub nearby.
- Orietta (2/5): - Mon ha rispettato ció che io avevo prenotato, pulizia molto molto superficiale, spazi ristretti. Non c è rapporto tra qualità prezzo
- Carmen (10/5): - positiva
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Semplice..ci siamo state benissimo....
Molto cordiali e puliti..
- Verified traveler (10/5): - good location for all of the city and night life and clean hotel, and friendly staff
- Elena0607 (6/5): Great breakfast, no parking, close to many restaurants - Good place for the price. Night staff was g too helpful or friendly. Morning staff was amazing! Free parking is kind of false advertisement, there was NO WAY we were going to find free parking along the street any time, any place close. There is a parking garage on the opposite side of the street, €15 over night. The breakfast was surprisingly really good! Within 10 min waking distance was a string of great looking restaurants.
- 501anaisa (6/5): Great neighborhood for your bucks - We arrived to Milan late and last-minute so we couldn't find any BNB and affordable hotels. After driving around we found this hotel and made a quick run to see if anything was available. Lucky for the four of us, one room with double beds was vacant for $100/night. The room was clean and sufficient for one night, and the coffee was excellent, made by the owner himself.
But the neighborhood is more than you would expect. We found top restaurants and bars just exploring around. So if you must make a quick stop, this is it!

- 712elads (10/5): Very nice. Value for money - Nice room.
Nice stuff.
Basic breakfast but nice and great coffee. Very nice area with bars and restaurants near the river.
Free wifi in every floor that working great.
No elevator.
Before we booked it we were a bit concern because its seems to have not so good score but The hotel have new management and thing are working well done!
- 267michalz (10/5): Formidable - A really nice place, kind and good service. Nice environment and good pubs around. Nice rooms, close to transportation. Good coffe, good breakfast. The rooms are always clean. There is a real toilet and bathroom. If you want a place to stay that is equals for payments
- yahall (10/5): Good cheap and great location. - I brought there a group of 25 people and they were all very happy. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is reach and fresh and the stuff is helpful and kind. The location is great: close to metro and next to navigli. I'm highly recommend for anyone who wants to enjoy Milan.
- _L7101FB (8/5): Nice and pleasant hotel - My husband was on a business trip and me and our baby joined him. The hotel was in a convenient area and the staff were nice and welcoming. The room was big enough and was very clean! The breakfast was ok, pretty basic and the coffee was good! The only problem wad the lack of elevator..
- dorinc422 (4/5): Not very good hotel - Not very good conditions in this hotel. Bad wifi, small and tight rooms, quite cold inside, quite pricey for its conditions (this is because I stayed in the period of EXPO). At least it is not too far from city center, and also the breakfast was OK.
- s0urinr (2/5): The worst hotel I have ever been - And I'll never come here again. Pathetic!
Rating should be zero but it does not allow me to save, so I'm giving one.
No WiFi in room
No glass to drink water
Bathroom area is horrible
Stuffs do not work or intend to work
- 240vidita (2/5): Waste of Money - No waiting area. My advice is not to reach here before the check-in time. One of the staff person was extremely rude. No lock in the toilet. No soap in the toilet. And hence no space to keep the soap either. And the most important- No Lift. We had to carry all our luggage to third floor through the narrow stairs. When i asked the person at the reception about all this, the answer was a straight NO. I think he didn't know any English word other than "NO".
- dReguill (2/5): Doing the booking do not guarantee your room - Even thought I made the booking using Booking.com, seems that it was not enough to guarantee my room.
When arriving there, they told me that the card was not accepted. Funny considering that Booking.com didn't asked me for a credit card and that no communication was sent to me about this topic.
Because of peak season, I am sure they book the room to somebody else at a higher price and then kick me out when I arrive for the check in.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I had choose this hotel as it was closer to the place I had work but money wise its a good hotel to stay facility is good except the WiFi the hotel staff is also cooperative and ya a fine hotel for a short stay
- AmericanItalian (6/5): No frills place to lay your head - The hotel itself is about as basic as you can imagine. Maintenance is clearly not their top priority.
I paid 40 euro + 3 euro city tax (boo Milan!) for a single (tiny tiny) room though, so the quality is in line with the price.
The staff was nice enough and in the morning the owner brought me out a tray with breakfast stuff on it (a brioche/croissant in a wrapper, sweetened toast - also of the plastic wrapper variety and some jams) and there was a coffee machine. All very basic. There's also no elevator - not a big deal for two floors but if you've got heavy bags you'll want to know this.
The area is nice (Navigli area in Milan) and it's a five minute walk from many of the pubs and very active nightspots in the Navigli.
Noise-wise I had no problems at all - the room I was in was pretty well insulated. Also the location is off the main street and at night there's very little traffic on the hotel's street.
All in all I can't recommend the hotel. Unless you want a really cheap, basic place to stay near where you've been out with your friends.
