Guest Reviews
- Julie (10/5): - Nice cabin in the country along the water. Great place to relax.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The peacefulness and quiet were the outstanding qualities of the property. Also looking out at the water every day! There wasn't much to do but walk the dogs, no available swimming, no activities even though there was a putt putt course. It was disappointing.
- Brian (10/5): Awesome place to stay - The campground was amazing. Cabins were clean and had everything i needed. The view of the water out the screened porch was beautiful. Check in was quick but thorough. Staff was friendly, like i was family. Highly recommend staying here. Only downside was no wifi and no cell reception.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This was our third and last time there. The lady in the office was not the friendliest people person in the world. When we were there in the past they had a huge beautiful amazing pool, which is pretty much the only thing they had to do there, and that was closed for an unexplained reason. The cabins are getting older, all the doors stick, my kids weren’t able to open them because you had to put quite a bit of force behind it. Over priced for what they have to offer, we ended up leaving a day early with no refund on the paid for extra day. Won’t be back
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It was ok fishing and crabbinv but
- Hi Sung (6/5): war against mosquitoes. - There were too many mosquitoes.
- Lynn (8/5): Eastern Shore Doggy Friendly - Very clean, friendly staff!! We met nice fellow travelers. Amazing location, beautiful views.
Unfortunately bed hard, window ac unit loud, we'renot used to either. Another guest let their dog roam, hubby stepped in a surprise.
May try it again next year when pool is able to be open.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Amazing staff - Staff was amazing! True testimony of what customer service should be like everywhere!! Bathhouse was not so clean and no lighting. I tried calling before our trip and was not able to get in touch with the property. However, when they called to confirm the staff answered all of my questions. If you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful place to get away, this is a great place. If your looking for recreational camping with amenities, this is not it.
- Mark (8/5): - Great getaway. Quite location by the water on Virginia’s Eastern shore. So nice to unwind and tune out for a couple of days. Bring insect repellent.
- Brian (10/5): Great place to relax - We are frequent visitors and enjoy staying at one of the cabins by the water. If you are into wildlife this is a great choice. No internet (yay), and no traffic noise, just a peaceful relaxing stay. Remember to bring your own sheets and towels.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We stayed in a cabin. I was impressed at how well-kept and well-equipped that it was. The views of the sunrise over the marsh were breathtaking. Watching the stars without all of the light pollution was a big reason for our excitement, but neighbors left outside lights on until long after we gave up and went back inside.
- Julie (8/5): Functional and Clean - My partner and I stayed in a cabin and it was clean and functional. It had new appliances (fridge, coffee pot, microwave and toaster). The bathroom was spacious and had a shower stall only (no tub), which was fine for adults. The screened in porch had a picnic table on it and the porch was a little small for more than 2 people. But the view overlooking the water was amazing! It was the perfect, quiet spot to sip coffee and watch the sunrise. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing place to kayak or read a book without crowds and hustle and bustle, this is it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A Gem That Time Forgot - We stayed in one of the one-room cabins and absolutely loved our visit. This place is gorgeous. Cabins are all on the waterfront facing clam/oyster beds, perfect for kayaking, shellfishing, crabbing, etc. The beautiful bay views and ocean breezes alone made the stay unforgettable. The property is gorgeous with old trees and abundant wildlife. We saw deer, wild turkey, geese, squirrels, and a variety of birds during our stay. The cabin was rustic, but well maintained and furnished. We had to ask for a few items that weren't in the kitchen, but staff was friendly and happy to bring them out to us. Bring boots for clamming and in case it rains - the property can be muddy. Cabins have shared fire pits and picnic tables and the office loaned us clam rakes and crab net. The cabins are separate from the larger RV resort and in my opinion, have the best location on the property. Other amenities include a dock and pier for fishing and access to water for kayaking and boating - or just for watching the amazing sunsets. The pool is huge and well maintained. The facilities like the pool and lodge are obviously dated but still useful. Staying here feels like being in a place time forgot. We saw few people and had plenty of privacy. It's clear from photos in the lodge that the resort was much more popular in its heyday. With its location, just a little upgrading could turn this place into a real gem, but I like the privacy that less popularity provided. We will definitely be staying again.
- Felicia (8/5): waterfront living - My first time experiencing water front living it was awsome
- Verified traveler (10/5): clean and comfortable - this is the second time I've gotten a cabin at Virginia Landing. it is a lovely spot and everything is kept very clean and in good repair. this is not a fancy place, but it is very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great staff, disappointing facilities - Although the staff were very nice and accommodating, we were very disappointed with the facilities. The cottage floors were filthy and appeared as though they hadn't been wet mopped in quite some time. The amenities were not as described---there was no general store and the mini golf course was not really usable. Generally the facility looked really run down which is a shame because, with a little sprucing up and TLC, this could be a great place and the location is really nice.
- crystal (10/5): - a gem of a place.... rural, rustic, private and not overpriced or overbearing with rules. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Definitely on the return list !! Loved the view, coffee with the sunrise every am over the bay. Deer playing in the field every eve, even saw an eagle do a fly over..... amazing !
- Diane (6/5): Cancel - Was ok
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cabin - Nice cabin but further away from beach than advertised, But great place to relax with great breeze. Bring lots of bug repellent!!!
- Tracy (8/5): Cape Charles getaway - Would have liked to have grills by the cabins. Had to buy one.
