Guest Reviews
- Willoughby (1/5): - Cockroaches everywhere!!!!! Cockroaches!!!!!!!
- Aleisha Jay (2/5): - Just thee tv channels 😏 The cockroaches, severely stained towels. AND apon arrival the desk clerk was laying on the couch 😠
- Berg (1/5): -
- Matthew (2/5): - This place was gross and the customer service was terrible. No continental breakfast even though they advertised that they did. No coffee or drinking water.
- Sonao (2/5): Would love a refund - I asked for an easily accessible handicap room for my mother who has stage four lung cancer and a walker and even then she has a hard time going up and down stairs. And yet we paid $130 for her to walk up and down stairs. She almost fell twice. So thank you never again
- Allen (10/5): - The staff are extremely friendly and helpful
- Nikki (2/5): - We had bugs in our room which were crawling on us. Breakfast should not be offered here!!! They had bread for toast with a large communal jar of peanut butter and jell not very sanitary at all. They also offered cereal with a large jug of milk. The price for this place was way too high. I would not recommend staying here.
- Kristy Henneman (4/5): - The was no elevator and I am handicap. Please refund my money
- John (6/5): - Tv only worked when the lights where on
- Jack (10/5): - This was a perfect overnight stop on our motorcycle trip to Sturgis
- Chad (4/5): - Dirty
- Karla (6/5): - Property needs upgrades big time.
By-level., not ideal
- Franco (2/5): - Dirty dirty
- Angela (2/5): - There was nothing to like, it is very dirty, the man checking people in was in a dirty shirt with holes in it, very unpleasant! There were holes in the walls, carpets were filthy, shouldn't even be open! Worst place!
- Lucjan (8/5): Terrifying parking, common area but excellent men - Terrifying parking and common area but excellent men at check in area.Breakfest area needs improvement(especially food choices and way of service) Room itself better than expected
- Betty (4/5): - One of t h e least liked areas for me. More than 2 miles from main road. Owner/manager is housekeeping and its falli g apart i side and out.
- Isidro (2/5): - Not recommended,
Tv don't work,
Smells bad,
Cannot shower tub clogged
Caanot shower,
ETC....
- Julie (2/5): - The clerk was cordial but not familiar with the system or the location best to enter. The entry had a filthy couch and was stagnant . The property is very unkept and debris everywhere. The room is dark, dingy and dirty. The mattress is a covered spring. The lock is key and chain. Very loose and unsafe. No breakfast pre ready except coffee!
I strongly suggest this be removed from all site listings.
- Terrilyn (4/5): - Smoke alarm, missing and ceiling paint chips falling to the floor. T TV doesn’t work. Can’t find John. We had a call management. Short towels, no bathmat.
- Michael (10/5): - Great place to stay ! Front desk Clerk were friendly
- Carlos (10/5): - Great stop which is right off the highway. Clean and quiet and comfortable
- Kevin (6/5): - it's ok for a 1 night quick stop
- Jason (2/5): - The place should be condemned. As dirty as you can imagine. Stained sheets and pillow cases, hair all over, water doesn’t go down the drain, on and on. Yuck
- Jonathan (10/5): - The Overall experience was very good. The hotel was clean.
- Michael (2/5): - We did not stay at this facility. It was unacceptable when we attempted to register. We attempted to get our funds returned when we tried to get the stay canceled on online. Cancellation FAILED. The app became unresponsive. Maybe this response can get that cancellation secured?
I attempted also to get a reservation at Hampton Inn in Sioux Falls but the attempt was not correct, and it reserved a night on Sunday which was the wrong date. Again, when I arrived at the Hampton Inn in Sioux Falls, they had no reservation for us there on Saturday night. They said they were full. They were full. That’s when I discovered I needed to have that one taken off the billing for it. To have it canceled. again, I tried to do that cancellation online, but the program kept losing my attempt to do that. On my credit card I do see that there is a charge there which I was not able to take care of with a cancellation.
- Amanda (4/5): - The bathroom was NOT clean at all. One bed was springy the other was a bit better. The door didnt lock when shutting it until using the deadbolt thankfully. Not even when we left in the morning did it shut all the way. And the breakfast was non existent..which i was annoyed bc that's why we chose to stay there so when we got up we didnt have to go else where before heading to our 15hr destination.
- Chereen (4/5): - Would not stay here again due to condition of hotel - it was run down and not clean.
Breakfast advertised when we booked, and there were signs up that hours were 6:30-9:30, but breakfast room was locked and no one around at 7:45 am.
- Keri (2/5): Do Not Recommend!!! - Bathroom was filthy! Toilet was used, paper was empty, sink had spit in it and the walls and floor were worse than a truck stop outhouse, The entire hotel is gross, do not stay here.
Door locks were broken out, replaced by slide chains.
The clerk was asleep, and confused when I called to check in.
One of the beds had been sat on, and an imprint of a wet body.
I understand it’s on the cheaper side of motels in the area, but gross is gross.
- Terrence (4/5): - Hate to leave bad review, but this place needs a lot of T.L.C. It appears that it changed hands recently and is a work in progress. A lot of work seems to be going on. The guy that checked us in was friendly and polite, even apologetic about the condition of the place.
The bed and box spring were broken down, carpet was nasty. Needs a lot of updating before I'd stay there again.
- Jeff (10/5): - Great motel. Rooms were very clean Our family had a great time and we would definitely stay here again.
- Paula (6/5): Not the best for price - The staff was amazing. There were issues with the room. Very dated and as clean as they could get it. Very thin blankets on bed. Bedspreads were very dirty with old stains. The staff did get us blankets very quickly. The towel rack had been pulled out of wall which we reported. Again. Staff great.
- Lynnda (2/5): - Dirty facility. Hardly any water pressure in bathroom sink. One mattress was too soft and had waterproof plastic sheeting covering it so it was hot. Pillowcases looked slept on and room smelled of cigarette smoke. Spend a bit more and go somewhere else.
- Roger (8/5): - Front fesk guy John was excellent. Very accommodating and helpful. Very friendly and nice. Our room was dated and washcloths were stained. No towels
Told John
He apologized an gave us towels
Very comfy bed
Quiet. Breakfast was minimal
But it was toast at least and fruit
I would recommend staying here because john was nice and bed was comfy.
- Eric (2/5): - Awful - ceiling leaked, water in walls, towels and sheets dirty, TV didn’t work. Would not recommend; stay anywhere else in Mitchell but this place.
- Anthony (2/5): - Crazy,, slum
- Hudson (10/5): - Great Staff, very friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable
- Deidra (2/5): - The hotel was misrepresented. Entrance sign was for Rodeway Inn with a small sign saying Mitchell Inn. I called ahead letting them know we would arrive late. When we got there we had to wait for the manager and then he had to check the room. The bathtub was dirty, footprints on the floor. TV did not work and we weren’t provided a password for WiFi. We slept in our clothes on top of the bedding because it was in such poor condition. Holes in the wall, room number had fallen off. It did not look like they could fit any tables in the breakfast area. The price was fit for the experience, but went with it as we were only stopping to sleep on our road trip. Very disappointed as the rating and photos led us astray.
- Holly (2/5): Don’t do it!! - It was so unbelievably disgusting! It smelled of urine and smoke. There was hair and stains on the bed and poop in the toilet. Absolutely revolting! The front desk clerk was very nice but he didn’t work there
- Barry (4/5): - Very run down, breakfast consisted of half a loaf bread and some cereal. Probably would not stay again.
- David (2/5): - holes open in the hallway walls, foer plumbing repairs, and left open. Badly stained carpet in the room, and heat and air did not work. Only the fan worked.
- Mike (10/5): - “Super friendly and helpful Front desk guy
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bumped - This hotel is pretty ran down. Didn't stay there after entering and looking around.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The young man at the front desk was kind and did his job well. If you are expecting to see what is in the picture you will be disappointed. The room was not clean. The white pillow cases had stains. The television did not work. The desk clerk tried to fix it. I did not feel real safe because of the atmosphere. There was what appeared to be a gun shot hole through one wall that went into the headboard of the bed on the other side of the room. There were only men talking at the front door one in a vehicle one that appeared to be the manager. The clerk would go speak to him in a foreign language while we were sorting out our issues with the room. There were random young men coming in the door with alcohol and one sitting in the lobby. It was very quiet there. If you are going with your family this is not a good place to stay. I do not understand how they are still operating. This needs work, cleaning to look like the picture posted.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Not for my family. - Generally not appealing or clean.
The signage is VERY poor.
- Shannon (2/5): - Didn't like anything about it
- Larry (1/5): bed bugs - bed bugs in room 131. I called the next day and was told I would get a refund, but I have not received it.
- Bragg (4/5): Better than the previous night. - Better than the previous nights hotel in looks. Door handle did not work. No inner mechanism. Door could be pushed in if deadbolt wasn't locked
- Dawn (2/5): - Hard to give an honest review when hotels.com didn’t come through on their end. When j got there, he didn’t have a reservation for me, even though I had a confirmation number from hotels.com.
- John (6/5): - Property needed some major work. Maintenance that had been done was not done professionally. Breakfast was peanut butter toast or cereal. They did have a pot of coffee. However, property was clean and everything worked. Property was in convenient location. We just needed a place to sleep and it worked fine for that purpose.
- Bridget (2/5): - Bugs….so gross we just abandoned the thought of staying and drove the 7 hours home
- Kenneth (4/5): - Needs all new carper everywhere and better pillows
- Lyndsay (2/5): - We did not stay here. One look at the room and we left. This place should be shut down. Horrible
- Larry (6/5): - ok
- Jack (8/5): - nice and quiet, but really light on the breakfast
- Arun (2/5): - The room had a foul smell.. the carpet was wet.. no toilet paper in the room. Had to use our paper towel. No service person in front desk
- Chris (2/5): I will pass. - Dirty parking lot, dirty carpet- smelled of urine, checked room for bugs and found none, but box springs soiled. Needless to say we left.
- Frank (1/5): Bad -
- Tanya (4/5): - Was given two rooms both with small full bed in it first one had not been cleaned second one was but I was traveling with my 14 year old child and didn't want to share a bed. The original reservation was for two bed. Parking lot was very cracked and had grass growing through it. Building needs to be resided. When finally given a third room the gentleman at the front desk went with us to make sure it was good. I give him the only good thing about that property. The problem with that is he didn't even work there. Once the road construction crew came in they played music as loud as possible and could be heard through out the entire two floors of the hotel. Even though we were looking for just a quick bed to lay our head for the night. This was not the place for that. Not at all worth the 100.00i paid for it.
- ALLEN B (4/5): - Teller charged my card even though i paid through expedia. Mold in bathroom. Floor by bed smelled of urine.
- Charmaine (4/5): - Would not stay here again! Needs updating and has poor customer service!
- Jacqueline (2/5): - It smelled in the motel itself and in the rooms. All the men sit around in the front door area. Must be family run business. It’s gross.
- annabella (2/5): - Showed up at the hotel and it was really dirty and unkept, then found out they have our room away to someone else
- Moises (2/5): - Moved from our first room because of mold oboe the shower, second room we found a pipe under the bed. Broken window, no lock on the window. Urine smell around the toilet. Toilet seat loose/broken. Tv does not work. Not much of a surprise tho, it is a motel after all.
- Maggie (1/5): The worst ever - Nothing it was dirty and there where bugs and we only stayed 4 hours it was bad Everything
- Lapointe (1/5): Bad -
- Tessa (1/5): Bad -
- Herson (10/5): - A comfortable place
- Dianna (1/5): They couldn’t find my reservation. The roo stunk real bad! The place I’d dirty! Staff was good. I will never go there ag - Good location.
- Diane (5/5): Passable - Location was ok; no train, plane or highway noises so all were able to sleep well. Breakfast was most minimal of entire week of travel staying at several motels in different states.
- Zina (1/5): Please refund my stay - I would really like a reimbursement for my stay. I didn't stay due to the conditions. Not clean
- Juan (2/5): - When I got there the attendant couldn't find my reservation. I showed him my reservation and he told me it didn't say it was payed. I told him that it was. He said prove it to me. Which I did prove to him. Then he still wouldn't give me my room but he still couldn't find it. Mind you I showed him the email from Expedia, the app with my reservation plus my card statement showing I had payed for it. Then some way some how he was finally able to locate it. Gave me an occupied room which I didn't like walking into someone's room and I'm sure neither did they. So I went and told him, which he still didn't believe and went to check himself. Finally after all this I finally got my room. I only didn't go look for another room because it was late and I waited to rest. But absolutely the worst experience ever.
- Cody (6/5): Affordable by worrying -
- Mick (3/5): Poor -
- Kathleen (2/5): Avoid this place. - Bathroom was clean, front desk staff person was friendly and helpful. It was cheap. We didn't feel safe here. Listened to another guest holler at his barking dog. Filthy carpet. Stinky pillows, burn hole in bedspread. Booking was for Mitchell Inn, but sign was for Rodeway. Directions on Booking were wrong.
- Kimberly (1/5): Bad -
