My exhaust was hitting the speed bump at the entrance and he let me go through the back gate when I went in and out. So I wouldn't scrape my bottom of my car. Cable's good. Bed was nice very quiet. We're going to go back someday.

• Tora (6/5): - Great place. Valerie was super sweet and very helpful during check in. The grounds were clean and overall general appearance was great. Our cabin had an overwhelming musty smell. We tried leaving the door open but right in the living room, close to the hallway and bedroom doors, was the strongest smell. I was awake most of the night because it triggered a massive headache. I turned the heat on in the wee hours of the morning and that helped a little with the odor. That cabin must have a mold issue somewhere in the crawl space or the attic. I wanted to report it when we checked out but we only had the option to “express” check out (drop the key) as no one was on site when we left (at 9:35 AM). I probably should have said something when we got in the cabin so partially my fault. But still, there’s no way you couldn’t smell that if you pre-checked the room. My husband doesn’t have a good nose but he could even smell it. I work in property management and don’t use the M word lightly.

• Danny (8/5): - *Pros- Overall the stay was pretty good. Ulysses at the front desk was a great help! When my wife and I checked in we did not have any firewood and he not only gave us for some firewood, he even carried it to the room for us! He was more than helpful! The cabin was nice and upgraded with new cabinets, countertops, flooring, & carpet throughout the cabin. *Cons- When we used the fireplace, the smoke did not all go up it, but rather spilled into the room and we had to open the front door to let the smoke out. I double checked the flu and it was indeed open and there was smoke coming out the top of the chimney. This most likely is due to the inside at the chimney needing to be bored out and cleaned so the smoke can be drawn out of the fireplace and not go into the living room. I also noticed when using the toilet and leaned over,.. the toilet leaned with me lifting off the floor. Apparently it was not bolted to the floor. The ice machine on site was broken and we could not use it. The place definitely has potential once the owner addresses these issues.

The only downside was the door lock and key, which gave us some trouble. Additionally, the shower was not quite large and lacked enough space to move comfortably, causing water to splash onto the floor. Overall it was a nice place to stay and would recommend.

• Sascha (8/5): - Our cabin was very spacious and appeared to have been remodeled relatively recently. There were a couple of soft spots in the floor of the spacious bathroom. Furnishings are residential. Our cabin did not have air conditioning and we were there on a relatively hot day, but it was workable with open windows at night and a fan going. The pool is unheated and the spa water was a bit murky. Staff was not immediately available when we arrived and the intercom to contact staff was not working. We had to stroll the grounds to find someone to help us. Note that there is a steep cleaning fee if you leave any dirty dishes, etc.

• Brittany (4/5): - When arriving to the cabins, it was quite cute and homey at first glance, when getting the key the staff didn't seem like they were happy, then we went to our room, which again at first glance looked cozy, but as we looked closer there were thousands of little bugs on the windowsill, there were some on the bed. We noticed the door to our room wasn't sealed properly and there gaps in the door frame, which in turn once night fell allowed hundreds of bugs access to the room. It truly appears the room had not been cleaned in a while, the amount of dust coming from the ceiling fan, no AC, and a broken fan. Honestly didn't make it worth staying the night. When checking out the staff was rude, left us waiting for a phone call to confirm our check out, we eventually had to call him and he was rude. It truly is a shame, the location is great but the upkeep was terrible. There was also a for sale sign so that might explain things.

I needed to expose her to more away from home trips.This was perfect! I found peace before my daughter's wedding next weekend. She got to roam fields and be near the lake. My cabin was clean and spacious. It had everything I could have needed if I decided to cook.

More like a cabin with mix matched furnishings. The host was late to check-in and as an apology he didn’t charge for our pet, which was a nice gesture. The property has some nice outdoor features for family gatherings.

We had been out all day and just wanted a shower and it was freezing cold. No one would answer the phone when I tried to call. No one there when I went to check out. The guy that checked us in was super unfriendly and gave no helpful information. The hot tub water was murky and gross. Definitely wouldn’t go back.
• Gregory (8/5): - Pleasant stay at a quiet property. Nice and quiet a walkable to lakefront. Small cottage was fine for me and dog to relax in for two days. Pool was chilly but the hot tub was nice. Nice area to lounge outside with fire pits.

Had to walk to office and wait for them to answer the door sometimes no answer at door. Pots and pans utensils etc in poor conditions. Toilet would rock to one side. Heater works but does not turn off when setpoint is met would get way to hot could not leave on overnight would have to turn off and on the whole entire stay while in the cabin. Cabin is cozy but needs some things addressed. All in all was a good stay and made great memories with the family despite the inconveniences
• Karen (2/5): - I have never written a negative review before. However, I can not recommend Bay Meadows Resort (Big Bear Lake) given our experience. When we arrived at Bay Meadows Resort yesterday, the Staff Person at Reception told us that the "power was out". He indicated that there was no electricity due to an outage in Big Bear. What he did not indicate that the heating and stove were electric so unavailable! Our cabin/cottage was 44 degrees when we entered it. It would become colder during the night. We returned to Reception and said there it was too cold to stay there. He consulted with someone on the phone and offered to return half the payment as it "wasn't their fault". We explained that when we booked a night at Bay Meadows (at $230/night) we expected to have heat and lights. Since they were not being provided, we should receive a full refund. He refused that request. We told him that we would write an Expedia review about our poor experience. We left and found a wonderful place (Saddleback Inn) in Lake Arrowhead (26 miles away). It had heat, lights, working kitchen, and a nice restaurant. It was also the same price as the Bay Meadows Resort. I recommend staying only at places where guest experiences are valued! We did not find that at Bay Meadows Resort.

We got room 123 and were next to the gazebo and nice snowy patch next to our back porch as well as a lil river and bridge. The pictures are honestly not flattering so I was a lil nervous but definitely happily surprised with the room it had a bedroom a walk in closet a walk in shower a kitchen with all kinds of kitchen supplies and full size fridge a sofa bed and heater. We will definitely be coming back.

Small kitchen and the Living room had couch that turned into a bed for our teenager and bedroom has queen bed. The bathroom was also small but everything worked just fine. It’s right off the main road and less than a mile from The Village. I did have a hard time speaking with anyone at the location. A week priory to our arrival , I tried to reach out to the property and no answer. I even left a voicemail and requested a call back. I finally was able to speak with someone a day before my check in where they stated they are the only one working the property so it was hard for them to answer calls. Other than that, we had a great experience & will consider staying there again.

They gave us a free upgrade because it was my girlfriend’s birthday and even offered to keep the jacuzzi open for an extra hour. I’ll definitely be coming back and will be recommending this place to friends and family!
• Alexander (4/5): - “Sofa bed” turned out to be a lumpy, leather futon. Bright lights shone through the window and prevented my kids from sleeping. Property manager was nice and tried to help but couldn’t do much.
