- Julie (9/5): A very restful break - The food and the staff at the hotel were excellent.
The location of the hotel was good. The gardens were lovely. We knew before we arrived that there would be no evening meal provided on Sunday. This was the only downside as after a six hour journey we knew we would to go out for dinner.
- Sheila (9/5): -
- Martin (8/5): - We ate in the restaurant the first night and it was excellent. We were upgraded to a ground floor room at no extra cost, which was lovely. Everyone we met was really kind and helpful. Our dog was treated like a star the whole time The bed was really quite uncomfortable (hard mattress with a centre dip) and I couldn't use the shower as there was no non-slip mat and I have a broken leg so didn't dare risk it
- Dean (10/5): -
- Steven (10/5): Welcoming with great food - The hosts were very friendly and welcoming
Both dinner and breakfast were outstanding
I would recommend anyone to stay here Nothing
- David (10/5): - Everything about this place is exceptional. Right from the warmest greeting through to the final check out is done in a way you want to return.
A truly exceptionally warm stay. Superb food and a Guinness better than I’ve anywhere else👍 Saying good bye.
- Adam (10/5): -
- Ann (8/5): excellent value, we will definately stay here again - Staff very welcoming, Room with outside patio had a really comfy bed, Food was freshly cooked and delicious, The garden and garden walk was spectacular, All the places we wanted to visit were easily reached and the local petrol station was reasonably priced.
- wilhelmus (10/5): - This was our second visit. That should tell you something. We again liked the inn with good variety of of breakfast options, room was spacious, plenty of free parking. It was convenient for the attractions we wanted to visit. Dinner, optional extra, is available and very good quality.
We would like to visit again.
- gail (10/5): A must stay - Perfect staff food everything
- Kevin (10/5): - Healthy choices for breakfast. Amy on breakfast service was excellent, rooms clean and comfortable, some had pets luckily kept away but should be kept quieter, not the establishments fault the standed failure of the owners!!!
- tONY (10/5): -
- Edna (10/5): Small but excellent!! - I had a small but very comfortable room at the Waterwheel. The bed was roomy for a single person and the shower was excellent. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful and the meals were good. This is a well run hotel and very good value for money.
- Gary (10/5): Lovely hotel - Hotel in lovely location and grounds were wonderful, the food in the restaurant was good and room was very comfortable and clean. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
- Elizabeth (9/5): - Excellent breakfast. Lovely room overlooking a beautiful garden. Location. It was sadly raining most of the weekend which meant people staying in the hotel. In these conditions there wasn’t enough seating in the lounge area.
- Jeremy (9/5): -
- Bob & Rosemary (9/5): Very comfy hotel with very friendly and helpful management and staff. - Very friendly and helpful staff serving excellent dinners and breakfast It was all very much to our liking

Locations ideal to explore the general area. Good parking. A beautiful garden to explore with lots of tree ferns. Our dog was made very welcome. Nothing
- Mayston (9/5): Lovely meals, very friendly staff, great dining, lounge and garden rooms - Quant. Very clean. Terrific food and terrific service The bed springs were noisy
- ray (10/5): Excellent dog friendly stay - Amazing place dig friendly staff really do look after you. The gardens are amazing to walk round and new bits being created. You will definitely enjoy your stay
- Christopher (6/5): -
- Hopton (8/5): - Breakfast was excellent. Location was beautiful Larger bedroom. But was described as such.
- Sarah (7/5): Very pleasant for a short stay. - The location was ideal for our trip.
The garden was a surprise pleasure to walk around.
The food and service was great. The welcome book provided in the room did explain about the cob webs but I wasn’t prepared for the hair in the bath or the finger prints and liquid drinks marks in the bathroom. Most people would not notice but I am a cleaner by trade, so I notice.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, however they ware their own clothes, so occasionally one was court wondering whom were guests and whom were staff, I think perhaps a name badge would be helpful.
- John Driver (8/5): - very pleasant staff, but they could do with a larger sign at the entrance, as at the moment it's quite easy to miss the entrance too much bracken covering the entrance sign, plus the road into the hotel has far too many potholes some very dangerous, needs resurfacing if possible cost of the evening meals, we thought the meals were overcharged, so we finished up eating out for the rest of our stay sadly ,
- DEBORAH (10/5): - As soon as you walked in the property, you were greeted by friendly staff, shown around the hotel and shown to our room, which was very comfortable. A wide range of breakfast was available. A very pleasant stay altogether. Thank you.
- Joanna (10/5): - Amazing place to stay. A hidden gem and a great find. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was great and good choice for breakfast. Reataurant is not open on a Sunday, although you can order desserts. We bought our own dinner and they gave us plates etc so we could eat in the beautiful tropical gardens
- Shaun (10/5): Very nice, comfortable and peaceful stay - All food was excellent
- Peter (5/5): Disappointing - The breakfast wasgood I was charged for two people but was on my own first evening meal not good
- Adam (10/5): Great hotel, highly recommended - Staff, location, dinner and breakfast. Nothing
- Dietmar (9/5): -
- Antony (10/5): A gem - The staff were exceptional. The garden was a work of art. Nothing. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.
- Kevin tom (9/5): Lovely, peaceful stay. - Breakfast was excellent, kitchen happy to make whatever you wanted. Good service and great staff.
I have a skin allergy and couldn't stand the quilt or the feather pillows. Staff replaced them, no problem.
We had an outside patio with 2 chairs and a table. Lovely.
Walk in shower, which was great and lovely soft towels.
The gardens are amazing, so much to see. Can't think.of anything, off hand, except perhaps not much hanging space , but not really bothered.
- Frank (9/5): -
- eaglen (10/5): - The room was big enough, the on suite was adequate. The food was fabulous 👌 the bed was lush. Staff were friendly and welcoming Nothing
- sonia (9/5): Amazing value for money! - It was ideally located for both coast and inland activities. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful food was amazing!
- Susanne (9/5): - Sehr schöner Gartenpark rundherum!
- PAUL (9/5): VERY GOOD - VERY GOOD GOOD
- Janice (10/5): -
- Concetta.Francavilla (5/5): -
- Denis (6/5): Very pleasant surroundings. - The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was very good but the dinner wasn’t that great. Quite a small room for the cost.
- Jeremy (10/5): Beautiful stay - Lovely comfortable room and bed, excellent shower, beautiful gardens and a stunning breakfast, would definitely recommend 👌 Nothing as its all good
- Elisa (8/5): - The bed and breakfast we have no complaints. If you drink from the bar or have dinner, it does cost quite a bit, but the dinner is well made.
- Martin (8/5): -
- Amy (9/5): July Stay - The gardens were so lovely and beautiful, the rooms were comfortable, and the breakfasts were delicious.
- Lynn (8/5): Enjoyable short stay - Very clean Bedroom was very small and the en-suite was tiny
- stephen (10/5): - What an exceptional place to stay .Great food, great staff, and wow, what a garden. Just a very minor niggle and that was the basin in the bedroom was a little to small. Other than that, all was great.
- Debra (9/5): 3 night stay to visit relative in St Mawes - Excellant choice of hot and cold food and generous portions.
Comfy bed and amazing garden! Like some other peoples comments, the front carpark could do with being tided up as bits and pieces of rubbish left in bushes which "spoils" what is a gem of a place to stay.
- Michael (9/5): Holiday - Morden facilities, Amazing gardens & very Accommodating, Especially dog friendly & the food was great. The Road was abit noisy.
- Kay (3/5): Expected more after reading previous reviews. - We enjoyed the garden and the fact that there was enough parking for all guests. The attitude of the owner when approached with a problem was very poor. She was very dismissive and refused to accept that there was something wrong with our room although we have photographic evidence. She said that she could not help us and walked off.
- HNS (10/5): Home from home. - Beautiful place and lovely gardens. The location was good for us as we got everywhere we wanted to go easily. Many attractions within easy reach. I would definitely go back if I visit this area again.
5* for Donna who looked after us throughout our stay and everyone else. It was a pleasure meeting here. All the staff we met were helpful and friendly too.
- Janis (6/5): -
- Loretta (10/5): -
- paul (9/5): excellent stay Aimee was especially helpful and caring - food was excellent apart from the steak unfortunately it was tough
- Noel (10/5): - Lovely place to stay. The Town Centre is a 15min walk. Room lovely and clean. Breakfast was supreb.
- Amanda (10/5): -
- Anghel (10/5): Great place to stay surrounded by superb gardens - I would recommend a stay here. The Inn has a charm all of its own. Wonderful homely atmosphere. The staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The garden and the forest beyond is superb where you can have a wonderful evening walk. We had a small room with no view which was clean and offered us a good night rest. The breakfast was delicious. Hope to visit again sometime soon. Thank you very much to all.
