- Peter (5/5): Dockside-no!!!! - Meet and greet by the hosts-no.No reception at all,room key in a coded box. Just come from the Craigie Hotel in Penicuik, also rated 4 star,where breakfast was 7-11 as are most hotels.This establishment,a B&B at best,thought we should all be up early,we are on holiday don’t forget,and the hosts chose a 1 hour breakfast 8-9 am very poor! Also breakfast had to be booked in 15 minutes slots and food ordered the night before.Personally I have not booked into an establishment that is so impersonal.Suffice to say we booked for 2 nights but chose to leave after 1.

Fomos para um quarto que poderia ter alguns poucos m2 a mais, mas era no segundo andar de escadas (estávamos com malas grandes) e com vista para a área que parecia ser a lixeira do prédio. Queixei-me com assertividade pelo app do booking pois estávamos muito muito muito desapontados com o pretenso up grade recebido e exaustos de muitas horas de estrada. A pessoa proprietária não soube lidar com a situação e nos expulsou do hotel às 6 da tarde pois não poderia nos fazer felizes... Parecia tudo fora do normal, tratou a gente de modo rude e alegou que estávamos fazendo drama e ordenou que saíssemos de sua casa. Enquanto nós pensávamos que estávamos em um hotel, não uma residência. Enfim, todos nós poderíamos ter passado sem essa experiência. A sorte que achamos outro há poucos metros dali e recebemos reembolso integral.

- Anthony (7/5): Friendly clean and contemporary hotel, room 12 feels cramped but overall a pleasant place. - The location is lovely - great views over the water and really friendly reception and clear instructions. Our room was right at the top of the hotel so collected the heat and was a little uncomfortable - it was also very small, the bed had about half a foot at the end so you needed to shimmy past to move around the room. I was a little disappointed in the room as I had booked it to be a special sea-view treat, and it felt like a double room where it should really have been a single. 'crowbarred in'. I paid £290 for two nights with breakfast for 2 guests - so it wasn't overpriced - but I'd like to have been able to get around the bed. We were only in the room to sleep and went out all day so didn't complain and I would say the owners are really lovely and I'm sure if we had asked they would have sought to help.

Hosts were super friendly. We had a room on the third floor and it was a lot smaller than the room advertised when I booked. My husband is 6ft 2 and his feet were touching the wall when in bed. The bathroom was also very snug.

- Geraldine (10/5): Mooie kamer met fantastisch uitzicht. - Wij vinden de kamer een heel fijne sfeer hebben. We hadden kamer met zitje en uitzicht op zee (en goed weer). Ontbijt biedt keuzemenu. Wij vonden eigenaren een prettige sfeer creeren bij ontbijt in hun gesprekjes met gasten. Daardoor kwamen we er achter dat er in het openluchttheater ( op loopafstand) die avond een concert was, waar we nog snel kaartjes voor hebben kunnen kopen. Voor £5 parkeren voor 2 nachten is top. Bed was goed en het was schoon.

Our first visit back to scarborough in 16 years.The Rockside hotel is a nice and clean, well-kept, comfortable, friendly hotel with a modern environment setting. The location to the centre of town and all amenities are within a 10 minute walk. We had a chance to speak to the owner, who was very helpful with a few questions we had. We also requested an iron and ironing board, which was provided for use, which was helpful. N/A as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Rockside.

- Paola (9/5): Una località meravigliosa, la gente del posto davvero ospitale e fiera del loro paese, adoro quest - La colazione abbastanza completa, forse mancano le alternative dolci, ma per il resto la tipica colazione dello Yorkshire è proposta dai proprietari, insieme alle sole uova cucinate in più modi, cereali e alternative per vegetariani, come il latte di avena che abbiamo richiesto. La vista della camera interna ed iletto matrimoniale alla francese, ma io e la mia amica abbiamo comunque dormito abituandoci alla misura inferiore!
