Guest Reviews
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Pleasantly surprised
Our room had been renovated and had laminate floors. The bathroom also had some upgrades. Front seat was pleasant and welcoming on arrival.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Just barely OK - Very rundown looking and signage old...room was OK but old, despite the photo the room itself was musty and lots of walls and caulk that needed repair or replace. Tub old, AC old. Overall, OLD. The beds were awful, hard and very squeaky. Stained sheets and very thin blanket. Trash was removed each day but beds not made??? Guy at the desk was nice to bring us extra coffee though... feel the quality did not justify the $$
- Verified traveler (8/5): - older property, however very clean and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Had there been other choices in the area I would have chosen differently
- Kenneth (8/5): Great Package - Spacious clan room with great bed with easy parking access
- Ken (6/5): - This property is dated. The motel is in a small town and has limited activities in the surrounding area. The office is closed overnight and has a drop box to leave your key in If it’s not open when you depart. We had to use the box because we left at 8:20am and the office was not open. Suppose to open at 8am. I personally am not use to staying in such a small quaint place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - we would like to see more parking for trailers, like boats ect. for the money it was a good deal.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was clean but the bed was just ok
No ice machine had to go to the store. Ext door.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We needed a place to sleep and the price was good and the beds were comfortable.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was very nice and clean. But they didn’t have a restaurant, bar, and free breakfast. That they said they had
- Bri (10/5): - Big room and soft couch. Was a cozy setting. Made you feel like home.
- Terry (8/5): - Good rates. The rooms were decent. They smelled fresh and clean.
- Candace (10/5): love pilot point - awesome
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was a nice little hotel. We got 2 king sized beds and stayed 2 nights. The gentleman at the front office was very nice. We were arriving late so he met us after hours to give us the key. The room was pretty big and had pictures of Indians with quotes of wisdom. I loved it and would definitely go back. It was nice and quiet too.
- TrishWilson (10/5): - Vinyl flooring is the best; no nasty carpet! Very clean beds! Very clean room! Comfy beds. Each bed was different, but both were comfy! Bedding was very clean and comfy! Microwave, Keurig and Refrigerator all clean and in working order. A/C and heat worked great...yes...this is normal for December in Texas. My first complaint would be that the towels didn't smell clean. Every one smelled like they were left in the washer at some point and got moldy. (They need bleach! Not disinfectant, bleach.). My other disappointment is that I probably won't ever get to stay here again, though I would totally find something in the area to do, just to come back!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. I'm positive that the towel issue will be tended to, because those folks are awesome! I should have mentioned it to them, but I was leaving to attend my son's funeral.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to our destination. Nice and clean. Owners are very nice and friendly. Easy access to Aubrey, Texas.
- Kay (10/5): - It was really nice on the inside. The bed was perfect. My only complaint was I needed more coffee. There was a keurig in the room but only enough for one cup for both days I stayed there😏
- Lacresha (10/5): - My room was spacious, clean and the staff is friendly!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was nothing like they had on internet its a motel unless lodge is motel in texas
- Annette (10/5): - Nice place to stay. Italian restaurant across the street. Quiet little town withouthavin to go all the way into Denton
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We needed a place close to a home build we are doing in the area. This was the closest location, however, it was not what we expected. It's more for families going fishing and enjoying a vacation. Not for folks who need wi-fi and more business-related amenities.
- Linda (8/5): Enjoyed our stay at the motel. - The motel was clean, wonderfully located for our needs, and you couldn't beat the price!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It’s more of a motel for fishing/horse stuff in the area, and much of it is devoted to semi-permanent residents.
- Tonia (6/5): Old, but clean - We had a couple of activities planned in Pilot Point so really preferred to stay in Pilot Point rather than 20-30 minutes away. The Four Horseman is an older place, but it’s clean and comfortable. Pretty pricey, but worth it if you want to stay nearby.
- Joe (8/5): - The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. Amenities included a nice TV, microwave, small refrigerator, and a Keurig coffee machine.
- Roy (8/5): Recommended - The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. Amenities included a nice TV, microwave, small refrigerator, and a Keurig coffee machine.
- Keith (8/5): I Would Stay Here Again - The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. Amenities included a nice TV, microwave, small refrigerator, and a Keurig coffee machine.
- Joe (8/5): - We’ve stayed here twice for Christmas. The rooms are not lavish but are comfortable and still quite nice.
- sea (8/5): - Got in late but they called me before closing and arranged for me to access my key at a lock box at aconvenient location near the front office.
- Troy (4/5): If you need to stay in the area , OK for the area - Was told it was recently remodeled, Fresh paint, new appliances (Ice Box/Microwave) , room good size. Beds are small (Full Size) one old mattress on top of wood base very noisy when rolling over if you have room. Bathroom was good size and fresh paint . Old bath tub control nob leaked everywhere when turned on, tub drain would not close all the way so no hot bath. Wi-Fi did not work the two days we where there you could log on and in 2 - 3 minutes it would disconnect you. Front desk had no answer for it..
- Verified traveler (6/5): The room was quaint but comfortable. - the only thing lacking was there was only one caffinated coffee
- Kathy (10/5): I would definitely return! - The room was very clean and spacious!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The only thing nice about the hotel was the bed. Staff is not available during thge day or night if you need anything. We contacted the front desk twice and never received a call back. One if the times it was due to another guest knocking on our doors and windows yelling at us. Will not ever stay there again...never.
- Lonnie (8/5): Nice hotel close to the lake - Didn't get in until 4 AM. The staff was very helpful and allowed a late check out so we could get a good nigh' rest.
- Echelle (10/5): Comfortable and Clean - The hotel is older but our room was comfortable and clean and smelled nice.
- Brenda (8/5): Peaceful - Very peaceful place on weekdays. Bring your own food, nearest restaurant is about 15 miles away. Yes, we would like to visit Lone Oak again.
- Laura (8/5): Perfect for a quick stay when traveling - The Four Horseman Travel Lodge was perfect for a very quick overnight stay in north Texas. Hotel ownership have done a great job to modernize the hotel. Out hotel room was clean with modern amenities. I would book again, if I came through the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly Staff. - This hotel exceeded my expectations. We were greeted kindly during check-in and the room was very nice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice rooms, beds a little to stiff for me. But nice overall.
- Ramona S. (10/5): - We stay at The Four Horseman one night to visit Tulip Farm a few miles away.
Room was nice and clean
Wifi not so good
Staff was friendly
Breakfast was great next door at the Cosina
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Although we were expecting newer facilities, we were impressed with the kind staff working hard to keep up this motel.
- Kelly (10/5): Great place to stay! - This was my third trip to this wonderful little motel. I love this place. The rooms are very clean, the beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms are CLEAN, everything is great! They are generous with both pillows on the bed and towels in the bathroom. Nice mini-fridge that is cold in the rooms, and even a Keurig coffee maker to get you moving. They give you vouchers for a wonderful breakfast at a business next door. The breakfast is awesome.
On my most recent trip, I met the owner of The Four Horseman, super friendly - and great customer service. I in in the area about 10X a year, this is the only place I will stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quiet escape - The staff were friendly and attentive. The room was large and the beds were comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Needed a place to unwind after tending to family matters and a death in the family.
Front office staff, owner, very cordial and friendly. The housekeeping staff-Heather-was awesome at checking to see what I needed.
Thank you for a very restful stay.
- Teddy (10/5): Loved Our Stay for Basketball Showcase - We totally loved our stay! It was hard to find a hotel close by the high school we were playing basketball at and we found this one. I read the reviews and spoke to John the owner over the phone and knew this was it. He is awesome, such good hospitality. The room was very clean and spacious for what we needed for a family of 5, area country type but nice! Our team hung out in one room for supper & it was nice! Thanks John for going all out!
- Roger (10/5): My favorite place in texas - My favorite place in texas
- Prairiedogwoman (8/5): Comfort and convenience - I found Four Horseman Travel Lodge to be very comfortable. My room had a microwave, a small refrigerator, a large flat screen TV, wireless (a bit slow for my liking), 2 comfortable queen size beds and 2 ceiling fans which was enough to keep the room cool even though there was air conditioning. It was very hot/humid while I was there but my room was very comfortable. I also received coupons to eat breakfast from a limited selection at the cafe next door. It worked for me being I am just a coffee, eggs and toast sort of person. It is conveniently located near a small gas/convenience store as well as an excellent Italian restaurant across the street. An employee owned grocer was up the street a bit as well as other stores if you want to venture out. I loved being in horse country it is very beautiful and picturesque.
- Rebecca (10/5): - We were there for a graduation. This is an older place but very clean and quiet. We will be staying there again. There were three rooms of us.
- Joe (10/5): Four Horsemen - Customer service was awesome
- M & T (6/5): Comfortable but smelly - Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The room looked as advertised but had an overwhelming smell--like it had been a smokers room at one time. Cigarette burns on the sink and bathtub verify that possibility. Also the cooked to order breakfast was served in the adjoining restaurant, but hotel patrons were limited to the first 5 items on the menu. We got charged extra for drinks on the first morning, but they were complementary on the second.
