• Kylie (6/5): - Place needs a good deep clean. Pillow cases had stains and the walls and utensil drawers are dirty. Pool and view is nice. Id stay there again if it had a good clean up

• george (2/5): Do not book, rooms are filthy and disgusting! - This place was absolutely filthy and there wasn’t a wall which didn’t have a hole or mark on it. There were horrid dirt marks and foot print marks on the walls and mould on the doors. We refused to stay and left before even staying one hour!

The carpets and showers did not appear to be vacuumed/sanitised from the previous visitors. Exhaust fan above the stove was not working and ‘zapped’ one of the visitors hand. Notified the front office, never heard back.
• Heath (2/5): - Apartment was in poor condition. Washing Machine flooded the apartment. Meant to be Queen bed was just two singles pushed together. No mattress protector. Filthy. Checked out early after washing machine flooded hotel room (was faulty shut off valve was not working), little to no help from staff. Refund has not yet hit my account (4 weeks)

• Rachel (10/5): - This property exceeded our expectations. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment and it was huge, with lovely views of the river, mountains and stadium. The location is very convenient, walking distance to the Cowboys leagues club and stadium which was the purpose of our trip. There are options within walking distance for dining, takeaway and groceries. Check in and check out was very easy also. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Townsville.

• Clive (10/5): Back again - We have been visiting Townsville for the last 15 years for work and now for health (nothing serious). For the last couple of years Islington at Central has been our preferred place to stay, the apartments are a good size, it's close everything and has secure parking.
• David (6/5): - The apartment had not been cleaned other than the linen changed. There was rubbish on the floor and food scraps. The reception lady was also quite grumpy on check in and out.

They are great apartments in a great location, just a couple disappointing factors that could have been communicated or done better.
• Nello (10/5): Travelling family - Things were good until the lifts broke down,had to walk up and down 5 flights of stairs. To their defence lifts were out of action due to the winds from Cyclone Jasper and no communication with its guests.

Cooking utensils average. No oven trays etc. Having a laundry was excellent. Good location. Outdoor pool was large. Walls had marks everywhere. Could definitely use new paint and carpet. Wont stay again until there renovated. Friend stayed one floor up from us. And her floors were the same.

• Liz (4/5): - The apartment complex itself is lovely, and the pool area sizeable. The spa was cold and we weren't able to get it working. The apartment needs a seriously deep clean. The carpets are gross, the skirtingboards and walls need a wipe over, the shower needs a good bleaching and the furnishings were sparse and did nothing to make it enjoyable to be in. I thought it was a bargain due to it's distance from The Strand, but I now think its because its not very well maintained. Bedding and towels however were clean. There's a strict no smoking policy in the building, yet when we went to the car park, the concierge was down there having a cigarette. All in all, there wasn't anything to endear me to stay here again, and I'm not that fussy! For the money, we would stay at a hotel on The Strand next time.
• Andrew (8/5): - Beautiful place to stay, so much room and very comfortable. Air conditioning was dripping onto carpet in main bedroom, filter were completely blocked. Cleaned the filters myself and this solved the problem

• Cathy (6/5): - Motel was in an excellent spot, very quiet and peaceful, walk to football stadium and Main Street, however, while our room looked clean at first glance there were stains on curtains and carpet, and the shower needed a super good scrub, our toaster shorted out the power, it was replaced by not a new one, but a really old toaster that was found in a cupboard somewhere, I could have bought a new one at Kmart for $7.50!, the staff on reception were all very nice, and I guess they could only work with what they had. All over but we had a good stay.

• Melanie (8/5): - The location was excellent. The parking was great. The carpet in our apartment needs replacing as it was stained and no longer attached to the floor in places so quite dangerous. Also there was a smell when we first entered the apartment.

• Paul (6/5): Lovely apartment and outlook…terribly maintained - The apartment was modern and lovely HOWEVER it was VERY badly let down by maintenance issues. It was very grubby. Shower tracks, walls, floors etc needed to be scrubbed not just wiped over. Repairs need to be made wherever possible. A/C remotes didn’t work, crockery and kitchen utensils were in short supply and badly mismatched. Tables needed to be wiped over and rubbish dropped behind bedside tables should be removed. Carpets and outdoor balcony tiles are particularly unsightly. We have built, owned and run a 5 star RACQ accredited property for some years and would be horrified to think our beautifully appointed guest rooms weren’t maintained to a 5 Star plus level. The view, the tranquility and the reception staff have, in our opinion, been sorely let down. A reputable commercial cleaning company is required to lift the standard of maintenance the property deservrs
• Susan (4/5): - Stayed there 2 times. Got very little sleep either time. First room had a light in the corridor outside the window which wasn't blocked by the blinds. Also poorly maintained, with missing remote controls for the air-con. Second apartment was much better but next door and outside the room near the pool some very drunk adults and their hyperactive children partied until the early hours. Trashed the pool. Next day reception pointed out the fine print in the handout with a phone number for reporting complaints after hours. No apologies.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and even allowed me to check in early after a quick phone call. I also liked that there was secure underground parking.

The carpet had lots of stains on it but apart from that it was clean and tidy and perfect for our needs. The outlook will be much better when the surrounding construction is complete. We had a 3 bedroom apartment which had spacious and comfortable beds. The living space and outdoor area was a great indoor outdoor feel. Just check arrival instructions if out of hours arrival.

Amenities were very good particularly the generous lap pool and sauna. Barbecue areas are located all around and were clean. Some areas on the apartment were not as clean as would be expected (front entrance) and there was no water jug in the kitchen. Plus a little maintenance required on air-conditioning. Overall, would stay there again without question.

The 3bedroom unit was quite spacious and we could lock them out of our room so we got a wee sleep in :) Great bbq area and pool. Balcony is a great size also. Apartments are a little tired but still in great condition and was perfect seeing we had little uns running around with us. Even had a washing machine which is great with a young family. Really enjoyed our time here. Very close to restaurants etc too but we just used the fully self-contained apartment and then the bbq area which was so spacious. Will be back again!!

• Verified traveler (6/5): - Property was fine, but the NO party policy on the May day long weekend was not police and with having to use the lift and find food and drink in it with no standing room was not pleasant. The noise at 12 min night was also not acceptable. We own accommodation and know that zero noise tolerance is need for all guest to be able to rest. We witnessed large amounts of alcohol going into the lift and new we were infor some rough nights.
• Anne (8/5): Great Townsville short stay apartment - The apartments are in a great location within walking distance of the centre of Townsville and dining options. The Old Railway cafe downstairs makes amazing coffee and breakfasts. Give them a try. The apartment we stayed in was clean and spacious for 2 guests, with no discernible noise from neighbours. The pool was refreshing after the heat and humidity of the location. For those staying and self catering, implements are sufficient, although I was unable to get the oven working. The wifi was intermittent, as was 4G and there is a download and device limit. Please note, there is no apartment servicing for stays less than 8 days, so you may need additional laundry and dishwashing liquids. Also, instructions for rubbish disposal would be useful for guests. Upon request, you can get additional towels. Reception is not open 24x7, however the staff were most accommodating and helpful.

• Jessica (10/5): - Really good overall, just a few cockroaches in the dishwasher but no other issues with the resost of our experience. Lovely staff at the front desk!
• Verified traveler (4/5): - Whilst the apartment provided three bedrooms, kitchen and bathrooms as advertised, the overall condition of the apartment left a lot to be desired. There was extensive wear and tear to the entire apartment, water damage to carpets and walls, broken dishwasher, minimal kitchen appliances (making a full kitchen difficult to use), noisy aged air conditioners (with less remotes than units), and poor pre-arrival clean (half full bottle of water left under a bed and a used hair tie under the coffee table). There were three double beds rather than 1 double and 4 singles (as per the booking), making it difficult for our children to share a room. However, The manager did arrange a single bed to be added to one of the rooms once this was highlighted. The dishwasher was reportedly unable to be repaired, and would need to be replaced, which was not possible during our 10day stay. We also needed to request the documented mid-stay refresh of towels and linen (on day 8 of 10) as it did not automatically occur. We were offered to move rooms due to the dishwasher issue, this was however not a practical solution given the extensive luggage we had (due to being in the process of moving house) and the inability for management to assist in the move.

• Nicola (8/5): - These serviced apartments are fabulous. We had everything we needed there. They were very comfortable. The only problem was our air condition wasn't working. The manager was very quick to get it sorted but it continued to break down every night at some stage. We were lucky it wasn't the middle of summer or we would have died with the heat and humidity. Made me wonder if it was being shut down every night. But as I said, the manager was not to blame and she provided us with fans to help us out and was very apologetic …
• Leanne (6/5): Not worth the money we had to pay - We stayed in 2 bedroom apartment,,our son stayed in 1 bedroom apart. Our apart was well sized and sort out, but its maintenance side of things, and cleanliness that let it down for the price we paid. We paid over $560 for 3 nights, sorry wasnt worth that amount, also lift played up, remote for garage for our car wouldnt work. Our sons apart was no better, he too had problems with lift, his remote also played up

• sue (2/5): Unit not maintained - Unit run down. Insinkerator not working, not nice to see someone else’s dinner floating up into the kitchen sink. Carpet filthy. Shower door doesn’t stay shut. Microwave cupboard door fallen off. Sliding Toilet door off runners and leaning against the wall. Holes in towels. Couldn’t lock the front door when we went out. Informed the office and they said all would be fixed but the whole building looks run down.

• Ross (8/5): Lovely Apartment with a few issues - Check-in was easy but reception is not open Saturday - Sunday so any problems we had were difficult to solve as we were only staying the weekend and reception could only be contacted via a phone (no call outs). Apartment was huge and more than enough room with a modern design and finish and large bedrooms (We stayed in apartment A58). Some minor issues that didn't really impact our stay but rather took the gloss off a lovely place. Only about half of the light bulbs actually worked in the property and an AFL game we wanted to watch on Foxtel was not available as the satellite TV subscription had not been paid. Otherwise a nice and pleasant stay.
