Hana (2/5): - There are hidden extra charges when you are checking in. Expedia was kind enough to reimburse for those charges. I have been to many hostels. This was the worse experience. The female dorm is tiny to fit in 6 people. The staff don’t clean the shared bathroom area daily. It’s also in the middle of nowhere, so you can’t walk to major sights. The Houston transit is very infrequent so it’s hard traveling anywhere from the Hostel.
Jeremy (6/5): - Overall a decent place but the bunk beds in my room were metal and not very sturdy. They creaked and groaned anytime anyone rolled over or moved. That made it hard to sleep. Also the water pressure in the shower was very weak.

Mygdalia (10/5): Best Hostel stay!!! - It was a great stay! The staff was very helpful and friendly. The shared room (hostel) was clean and very comfortable. I enjoyed the outdoor patio and swimming pool. I have recommended it to all my family and friends. When in Houston, I will stay there again.

Verified traveler (6/5): - I loved that it was in a historic home, the neighborhood was beautiful and the rooms were fairly up to date. The 8 person room I stayed in wasn't actually in the home but in the guest house in the back. Loved that they had a pool, outdoor sitting area, hammocks, inside had computer access, a pool table, and kitchen plus eating area. For the amenities you get it was a great place to stay. I only had two issues with my stay, I'm short and plus size and they assigned me a top bunk. Like really? Come on! My only other issue is not their fault, but more of a warning for light sleepers. Bring ear plugs, if you have someone who snores don't expect to actually sleep!

Verified traveler (2/5): Spend $10 more and stay at the other hostel - First read all the information if you’re not a Hostel member there is an extra fee of $4. Idk what for. You’re not staying in the AC building you see, you are staying in a building behind the building that is not like the photos. Beds were trash, pillows are horrible, dirty bathroom & the wall AC only cools the side where you are at. I have stayed at plenty of hostels and this by far was HORRIBLE

Michael (10/5): What a fabulous hostel! - Had a very pleasant stay. Staff was very friendly and the complimentary breakfast was a nice way to start the day. The locale was perfect for local errands. The ironing board and iron was very handy. My shared room had a nice balcony with nice views. Highly recommend to tourists!

Verified traveler (10/5): Good stay - It was good only negative thing I have to say was I didn't like that there were no outlets or lamps by your bed and only had 2 outlets in my room for 6 people also not sure if the bathrooms were cleaned at all during my stay my bed was also very noisy when I moved.Otherwise I loved the location and the house itself was great and had lots of space. Staff were kind and friendly.

YONGJIN (8/5): - 남자 혼자 배낭여행 3박4 머뭄 장점 : 저렴함, 조식 있음, 화장실이 방안에 있음, 빨래비용이 매우 저렴(1.5달러), 도보거리에 큰 식료품점(kroger), 도보거리에 힙한 카페들 있음, 버스정류장 가까움 단점 : 6인실의 경우 침대끼리 칸막이 같은 게 없어서 남들 뭐하는지 다 보이고 소리가 다 들림, 침대 근처에 콘센트 없음(6인실 방에 콘센트가 1~2개밖에 없어서 로비에서 쉴때 충전했음), 일단 휴스턴 자체가 뚜벅이 배낭여행으로 비추(공항~시내 너무 멀고 대중교통도 타기 힘듦, 주요 관광지인 NASA도 중심지에서 왕복 3-4시간 거리, 다운타운은 볼거리가 많지 않음)

I opened it to place something in there and it stunk so badly. On the positive side, I met some amazing people. The house had several common areas to gather and talk with new people.

Nykael (4/5): Cheap Hostel - I stayed here on a Friday night and did not enjoy my stay. Check-in is at 3pm but this isn't stated on their website or on expedia's website. So I had arrived and had to wait to check-in earlier at 3pm, which I thought was ridiculous. The linens were subpar, and the towel I was given had stains (brown stains) that I only noticed as I was using. Why would a place of business continue to use a towel with stains, let alone brown stains! The people seemed friendly but when it came time to sleep, my room was filled with people who were coughing and snoring loudly enough that I could not sleep. The shower I took the next morning had freezing cold water. There is also very limited parking.

Julia (10/5): Comfortable stay in great location - Walking distance to quaint Montrose area, convenient parking and easy access to drugstore, Krogers, ethnic restaurants, thrift and antique shopping. Thoroughly enjoyable interior and exterior common areas (pool, lounge etc). While the interior is a bit dated (reminded me fondly of graduate housing), all perfectly functional and useable! I stayed in a 4 person coed room above billiards and literally never saw or heard my roommates nor any socializing from below. I Price was great and I appreciated that you could interact as much or as little as you wanted.
Ron (10/5): It was near my destination but got lost in transit - I had to call for driving directions a couple times, but they were very helpful. I recommend that everyone have the hostel experience. A quick place to rest at a very reasonably price. Getting your own free breakfast was a fun experience. Fellow travelers were very considerate considering you share one room with five or six others. Keep in mind you have to climb stairs, but I managed even at 71 years of age. (Most were young people). Limited parking, mostly in street.

JAMMIE (8/5): Nice hostel in good neighborhood. - Hostel is in a good neighborhood, it is close to the bus stops and close to downtown. Very accessible. I do think 8 persons per room is a lot, a little cramped but I would definitely stay there again. You get to meet people from different parts of the world.

Verified traveler (8/5): A suitable option for the price conscious traveler - Overall, I would say I had a good experience. The location is excellent. It is in a nice, residential neighborhood. There is limited off-street parking, but I didn't have any trouble parking on the street. There are restaurants and shops in close proximity, which was convenient. I would generally just leave my car and walk. The staff was always friendly and helpful and the place was quite clean in general. It IS an old house, so that brings with it some inherent issues. The room I stayed in was on the second floor, adjacent to the back stairs that let out next to the kitchen. In the morning, noise must funnel directly up the stairs and into this room, which meant I was awakened no later than 7am each day. Also, there were some areas in the ceiling where plaster was missing from apparent water damage. This was not a problem for me, but it may be for some, so I feel it is worth mentioning. As a lot of others have mentioned, the water pressure is also a problem, especially in the shower. I would imagine a person with full, long hair might actually find it difficult to rinse properly the pressure is so low. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable, there are nice public areas like a sitting room, a pool and game room, and a tv room on the third floor. For the price, I would not hesitate to stay here again, or recommend it to others.
James (2/5): - I was not able to stay. The front desk said they are not accepting residences of Houston now. A person's address has to be more than 50 miles from the hotel inorder to stay. I did not stay. I was turned away.
Leo (10/5): First time hostel experience. - I've never stayed at a hostel before and decided to give it a shot. It was so much fun! The place was clean, the staff was extremely helpful and it gives you a chance to meet people from all over the world. The location was absolutely fabulous and the breakfast was very communal. I felt very at home and would recommend this to anyone who wants a place to lay their heads.

Verified traveler (8/5): A nice place to stay. - The house was in a very safe and quiet neighborhood. It is conveniently located just three blocks away from a Walgreens and supermarket. There are two bus lines nearby. I stayed in room number two – which is the six person room with a private bath. The room is coed, so you could be surprised by a male or female roommate popping in at any time. The room was small, but comfortable there were four small lockers in the room – bring your own lock. The room was air-conditioned but still muggy. There was a small box fan in the room. My biggest complaint was that the bathtub was scummy. I would suggest just bringing an extra pair of socks to wear in the shower. The rest of the house was attractive. There is a TV room and the pool. The kitchen had appliances to use. The breakfast was okay – but nothing special. The staff was friendly and accommodating. [They let me hang out in the hostile for six hours, until it was time for me to catch my flight.] They will let you leave your luggage unprotected in the background. My only complaint about the staff was that I came in to find one of the staff members taking a nap in a room that I expected to be empty. I did have a weirdo of a lady my first day there. She needed to loudly eat and put on her BenGay while I was trying to sleep.

alongyourpath (8/5): Place to rest your head and ne in a chill environm - Stayed two night. Mainly slepped and showered and thats it. When I was there everyone was doing their thing...cooking, eating, on computer, chilling outside on patio. Real relaxed atmosphere. Nice and helpful staff. Only issue was the room was pretty hot. I think wveryone felt that but those that were awake and on their phones didnt say anything. I cant sleep in heat but that was my issue. Overall....nice stay if your single, a starving artist, baxkpacker, traveler etc....and ya dont mind crashing in bunk beds with strangers in other beds.
