• Aya (9/5): I enjoyed the place, facility, and the responsiveness of the staff. - Price value, strategic location, and great facility. Staff were friendly, helpful, and responsive. I was no familiar with the shower faucet. I wish there was a printed out guide/poster about how to adjust shower temperature. It was almost always scorching hot during my stay.

• Ramirez (10/5): Great place to stay for young people. - Cute, communal, safe, the outdoor fire pits was a nice touch. Loved that you could cook. There was not a tv in the private rooms but that wasn’t that big of a deal. We couldn’t adjust the air conditioning it was set to 70 and we often got hot in the room.

• Frances (8/5): - Location is great. Walking distance to the Aquarium, grocery and restaurant. Provide only fan in the room. We where given on the lower level where we can't open window. It is a little warm at night.
• Barbara (8/5): Great but kitchen noise was excessive in room 7. - Very clean and well organized. Freshly remodeled. We were in room 7. My bunk was right next to the wall with the kitchen sink on the other side. I could hear every dish being washed and allll the cooking and food prep. Avoid this room if at all possible.

The hostel and staff are lovely. - Friendly and informed staff, clean and vibrant space, respectful guests, and encouraging energy. This hostel has that magical combo of providing privacy while fostering positive communal spaces. Zero complaints.

• Margot (10/5): Terrific places today to run the Monterey Bay half marathon - Very clean, friendly, everything we needed. Brilliant place. To ventilate the room, we had to leave the door open to the fire escape which had an unsecured window. So we took that risk l, but it would be really great if that window had a Crimsafe mesh on it or something so that fresh air could get into the room without compromising Security.

• Shirley (10/5): Great experience, lovely place! - The location, very clean and modern, the people there were very respectful, it had a large kitchen, a large outdoor seating area, and parking. Nothing, it was great!
• Crystal (10/5): Walkable location to everything! - The location is incredible! A 5 minute walk to Canary Row and a few minutes more to all the seals! The Old Wharf is about a 20 minute walk as well. I took the shuttle from San Jose Airport and walked to the hostel. A walkers dream location! Everything was very clean and very comfortable beds. Loved the pillow! Favorite hostel I've stayed at in the US.

• Lieke (7/5): - Great location, fun place The noise at night was rather uncomfortable. Our room was above the facility room, which caused disturbance, plus someone vacuum cleaning at ten in the evening - basically the isolation of the rooms could be better.

Emplacement top à côté de l’aquarium et d’une jolie promenade jusqu’au Fisherman’s. Parking dispo (en supplément). Je n’adhère pas avec le concept, pour une auberge, de devoir s’enregistrer seule (modalités reçues par email et la personne à l’accueil renvois à ce mail), pas d’infos sur la ville ou de carte. Néanmoins communication facile. Un petit côté impersonnel un peu dommage.

• Weronika (7/5): Good hostel with a few spots for improvement - The hostel is very clean, modern and comfortable, had all the amenities you'd need. Helpful staff. I was hoping there would be more social activities, but there was nothing on the agenda the day I arrived and the next day. I had an issue getting back to the hostel past 10pm as my code (provided by booking.com) wouldn't work on the main door and I couldn't call or text US phone numbers as I was using an e-sim. I'd suggest testing your code ahead with the stuff or providing a whatsapp/other way to contact the staff after hours. Otherwise, everything else was fine.
• Camille (9/5): new hostel with good location, clean, but needs lockers - -very clean rooms and bathrooms -size of the room was fine -huge parking lot -good location -huge kitchen with all kitchenware. you can basically bake a cake there or make any meal you wish -nice staff -quiet place -easy check in and check out -has an "all in one" shampoo-conditioner-body soap in the shower and a hairdryer No curtains to give privacy to the beds. I knew they arent there as seen on the picture but I think that would be a good idea. There are no lockers. you basically put your luggage under your bed. Given we all have our passports and maybe computers or cameras and we share our rooms with strangers I think it would be necessary to have lockers. Price is quite high for a shared bedroom. No small lights per beds.

It was super convenient for me. - friendly staff - cleanliness in the bathroom was acceptable - guests in the same dormitory room were all male except me... I'm not sure whether it was a coincidence or not

My only request would be that maybe the beds, the bunkbeds, have some sort of pouch that you could put water and your phone in, especially if you’re on the upper bunk - there’s no place to put anything. But everything was great!

• Denise (10/5): Comfortable and spacious hostel near the best of Monterey - It is a beautiful, extremely clean, and well-decorated place with a wide and comfortable collective kitchen. The staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive. This is my second time here, and I feel at home! And what is best? It is within walking distance of Monterey’s attractions and cool spots.

• Nan (10/5): I enjoyed my stay. I like hostels for community- - Quiet safe casual community. The dorm rooms have 1 full bathroom within - no running down the hall and an extra sink also! The courtyard and great free parking lot. Need a sign for shower operation that there is no adjusting temperature; you push only 1 time for on- Do not push again for off- as the water flow in on a go timer for each push of control-and the more you push the longer the timer keeps hoping for more water- And with all the sign to conserve WATER it makes a person / moi feel bad about that way too long of a lovel hot shower!

• Idaliya (8/5): Nice hostel with a great common area relatively close to the coast :) - The lounge area is great, the kitchen is very clean and well-organized Some of the rooms are half-basement, still get light but not as much which is one of the most important things for me. The rooms felt a bit cold, but it was good with the extra blanket. For the lounge, I assumed it was ok to sit there at night (after 10pm) and work quietly, but I felt a bit uncomfortable having received info that the lounge is closed after 10pm, that’s not feasible since there is nowhere else to be to sit and work in the area either, I partially rented a hostel just for the common space, so the restrictions on its use were most disappointing.
• Verified traveler (10/5): - The bathrooms and showers were very clean so was the room I slept in When I arrived I was told I needed to buy a daily membership to the hostel which was not on the website or not very clear enough and I was told if I want to lock up my valuables I needed to supply my own lock ( of course they did offer to sell me one ) that was never stated on the website so I had to carry around my valuables with me wherever I went

Squeeky metal bed frames. Some mattresses dip in the middle, uncomfortable. Shared bathrooms, so have to walk out room at night to use. Good breakfast. Clean up your own linens. Staff attentive.

• brian (6/5): Good but not for me - Not my type of travel stay. Eventhough I got the Suite, the service was not what I expected. Rules for the hostel with eating only in dining room, clean up dishes and utensils after uses, and no food in the bedroom are new to me. They also have Quite Time reserved from 11pm to 6am but the openings of the front doors and kids running can be heard loudly in my room. The front desk check-in was friendly. My kids like the bunkbeds but the other beds are Ok. Overall the stay was OK since It was a hostel experience that I never had besides Hotel Overall Services.
