Steam shower was not working properly and shower doors kept getting stuck to open. The room gets very hot because of orientation. A/C only works if you call the lobby the controls did not work in the room. Overall nice spaciouse rooms with minor details with the shower doors and A/C

- Jacomine (10/5): - Wat een prachtige sfeer in deze citroengaard en in dit prachtige hotel. We hadden de Poolvilla met spa en turks bad, lekker achteraf gelegen, alle privacy. Elke dag werd er schoongemaakt door zeer hulpvaardige mensen. Het restaurent is inderdaad Michelin ster waardig, wat hebben we daar heerlijk gegeten. ook de roomservice en de lunch was prima voor elkaar hoewel ik vond dat er wel een iets uitgebreidere kaart mag zijn (bijvoorbeeld meer keuze wat betreft soep, antipasti oid), In de hotel villa had ik het prettig gevonden om meer stopcontacten te hebben bij het bed en bijvoorbeeld een USB -laadplek. Maar..., who is complaining in heaven....

- Elliot (8/5): - Zash was a beautiful facility, only thing I didn’t like was the train that went by a lot which made sleep quite hard and we found a lot of ants in the inside of the unit.

In the spa the sauna and steam didn’t work and also could do with a bit of care. Overall highly recommend this property for a relaxing stay with an out of this world meal.

- Nigel (8/5): Wonderful Oasis - Zash is a luxury oasis. The food is of outstanding quality and the wine list is phenomenal. But the best thing of all are the amazing staff who are so friendly and helpful and attentive. The only negative comment I will make is that the property needs some maintenance and it is starting to look tired and worn out.

- Philip (8/5): - The hotel is a lovely old converted winery and is situated in a very large Orange/Lemon orchard in the middle of the countryside. The hotel rooms and grounds are stunning, with nice views of the Volcano/Sea and the bar/restaurant are both excellent. Breakfast is a fabulous experience and is served outside on a lovely covered area with views out to the sea. The spa is small but is nicely designed and the staff do a good job. The swimming pool and poolside areas are quite nice, although the pool wasn't heated in April, so was VERY cold. The big negatives during our stay were that the food options at lunch are VERY limited and the poolside drinks/food service weren't available. In addition, the evening food options for dinner, apart from the Michelin star restaurant, aren't sufficient for a hotel of this calibre. In addition, the hotel rooms that face the nearby railway line (Whilst large and beautiful) suffer from too much noise from the trains that pass by. Lastly, if you want to take a taxi to the nearby town (Riposto) the taxi is VERY expensive for a 10m journey and the restaurant options are limited. All in all it's a very nice place, but has some limitations that impact overall experience a little too much which is a real shame.

We loved the amazingly beautiful villa and our meal at the restaurant was an epic experience. I would strongly suggest new and or different music in the villa. - tasmine (4/5): - We were super excited to stay here but ended up wishing we booked less nights. You really only need to stay here one night. Or I recommend booking at a vineyard lodge on the area and coming for dinner. The dinner and service was great, would definitely eat there again. The daily breakfast was good but the service was bad (they forgot our order one of the mornings). But the wasps…horrible!!! Anytime you eat they are right there! They really should do something about them!! Not much to do on the property. The rooms we had weren’t that great, in our room I felt like the tv stand was just gonna fall over any second. The spa is small and ok. The massage was interesting.

We stayed 2 nights in private a garden sweet and 1 night in a room on the second floor of the casa with a private balcony. Both rooms were absolutely stunning. The pool area was amazing. The bar staff was very helpful. The restaraunt was fantastic. Great food and great service. We also called the reception to book us a tour of Mt Etna. And we had the best tour guide thanks to Zash. Onsite parking makes it easy to come and go if you bring your own vehicle. The spa is a wonderful place to relax. I highly recommend.

- Ali (2/5): - Worst night's sleep EVER!! Amongst all the peace and serenity is a train line, which just happens to be located right next to the hotel and runs until about midnight and then again from about 4am. Try sleeping with that right next to you. Impossible. It was like sleeping on the track!! To top it off, we were in room 5 and next to the kitchen, so had the extra treat of listening to the pots and pans from the kitchen being cleaned until around midnight. I complained on check out and they knocked off the price of 2 (massively overpriced) glasses of wine. Not good enough. The pool is great and surroundings are nice (ignoring the train line), but the relaxation during the day is completely ruined by the complete lack of sleep. AVOID!!!

- HELENE (8/5): Alliance modernité et tradition - Hotel au beau milieu d'une plantation d'orangers, à la decoration moderne très soignée, originale et raffinée. Chambres et piscine superbe avec vue sur l'Etna. Quelques bémols tout de même: un probleme evident de personnels qui ne semblent pas être formés pour un hotel de cette catégorie (probleme de service à table étoilé Michelin!) et ube voie ferrée qui longe la propriété, et oui!
- Lorenzo (6/5): Alti e Bassi - Hotel di design immerso nel verde in stile minimalista, alcune camere sono nuovissime con servizi di alto livello altre invece piuttosto vetuste(dove purtroppo sono capitato nonostante me l'abbiano spacciata per Suite) che presentano numerosi problemi come la mancanza di corrente e una bassissima pressione dell'acqua che rende difficoltoso l'uso della doccia, sicuramente non in linea con il resto dell'albergo e con le ambizioni che si pone. Il grande problema di questo albergo e'pero' il servizio che alterna delle persone di altissimo profilo come la direttrice o lo staff del ristorante ad altre di nazionalita' pakistana ed afghana (al check-in) totalmente impreparate e fuori luogo per un contesto come questo. Purtroppo al nostro arrivo non ci e' stato spiegato e presentato alcun servizio tra i numerosi proposti dall'hotel. Il punto di forza e' ovviamente il ristorante dove lo chef Raciti racconta poesie tramite i suoi piatti, senza dubbio uno dei migliori nell'intero panorama siciliano.

- Ben (10/5): Exceeded expectations in every way! - A really stunning property; pool area, restaurant and the rooms are particular highlights. Didn't have time to try to spa but that looked amazing too. The staff (particularly Morinio (sp?) on the front desk) were incredibly friendly and helpful - couldn't do enough to help out. Expectations for the room were completely blown away by the reality - very appreciative of the upgrade to a suite in the gardens - beautifully designed and comfortable; instant relaxation. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The only thing that is somewhat disappointing is the surrounding area. The property is located close to train tracks which can be a bit noisy and distracting from the otherwise tranquil property. - Alison (10/5): 5 STARS + beautiful - WOW ! This place is stunning a mix of old and modern. The food is amazing. The room was spotless and beautifully laid out. The spa is beautiful and you can use for an hr and half each day - it has to be booked but there is no extra charge. The grounds are beautiful. You need a car as slightly remote nearest place about 10mins. Finally the staff - Helpful, welcoming and courteous . 5 STARS all the way 👍😊. Just a pity it rained when we were there -
- Brigitte (6/5): - Sieht auf den Bildern besser aus als es ist. Beim Check in ( von einer nicht sehr motivierten Dame ) bekamen wir ein Zimmer mit Blick auf eine Betoneinfahrt ( Hinterhofatmosphäre) an der sich eine Baustelle mit Presslufthammer befand.Als wir ihr erklärten wir hätten ein ruhiges Zimmer gebucht , meinte sie wir könnten ein anderes haben für einen erheblichen Aufpreis. Nach einigen Diskussion bekamen wir dann ein anderes Zimmer. Wie schon beschrieben fährt direkt hinter dem Hotel die Bahnlinie ( bei uns ca alle 30 Minuten) die auch im Zimmer extrem laut ist, man sollte nicht geräuschempfindlich sein. Im schönen Spa mit Sauna und Dampfbad hüpfte alle 5 Minuten eine Dame herum die ständig Anweisungen gab und man nicht wirklich zur Ruhe kommt. Die Preise im Restaurant sehr hoch ( Cappuccino 5€, Flasche Wasser 5€ ) Ansonsten ist die gesamte Anlage super gepflegt und sehr schön.Auch die Zimmer waren top sauber. Der Aussenpool mit Blick auf den Ätna atemberaubend.Gutes Frühstück .
- Wilhelm (6/5): - Lage: herrlich, am Fuss des Aetnas gelegen, inmitten einer grosszügigen Anlage von Zitronen- und Orangenbäumen. Von unserer Suite im ersten Stock im historischen Hauptgebäude hatten wir einen herrlichen Blick bis zum Meer. Service unterdurchschnittlich: unsere Suite/Zimmer wurde einmal gar nicht gemacht, die grosse Terrasse nur auf unsere Aufforderung hin, weil die Liegestühle nass waren vom Regen und noch Geschirr vom Vorabend herumstand. Sollte das Personal eigentlich selber merken... Zimmer: Grundriss und Art der Zimmer schön und grosszügig, hohe Räume, Terrasse mit tollem Blick (s.o.). Einrichtung chic aber äusserst unpraktisch: viele Designgegenstände, ABER: ausser einem etwas unterdimensionierten Kleiderschrank KEINE EINZIGE(!) Verstaumöglichkeit für Kleider, keine Kommoden, Schränke oder was auch immer. Wir waren eine ganze Woche dort und haben als Notlösung schliesslich ein drittes Bett zur Ablagefläche umfunktioniert. Frühstück: Auswahl der Speisen und Getränke für ein Haus dieser Kategorie zu bescheiden. Detail: keine Brioche erhältlich obwohl sizilianische Spezialität. Und völlig unverständlich, inmitten einer wunderbaren Landschaft aus Zitronen- und Orangenbäumen, gab es nur Orangensaft aus dem Supermarkt. What a shame! Restaurant: viel zu teuer, dafür "très chic". Aufgeblasen, Essen mittelmässig. Fazit unseres Aufenthaltes: schöne Lage aber weniger Design und dafür mehr Funktion würden dem Hotel guttun (Design follows function....)
- Penny (8/5): Lovely Place to stay for R&R - In the countryside between Catania and Taormina you will find (possibly with a little difficulty) this little elegant hotel, we came on a last minute deal, the staff were very friendly and helpful, spoke very good English. The breakfast was excellent, if you want to book this be mindful it is remote and unless you have a car your choices for dinner are limited, the restaurant on site is excellent albeit very expensive, we paid 200 euro for 2 with one bottle of wine. The pool looks very nice, the spa was immaculate and the rooms were to be expected from this type of hotel A lovely place to relax and chill out - if that is what you are looking for.

- Verified traveler (8/5): It could be incredible. - We booked one of the garden glass rooms which was beautiful however for the price you pay you expect the very best and there were areas that could do with improving which we addressed with the reception staff. The door handle of the room was not screwed on properly which made it feel like you could be trapped in at any moment. The toiletries were refilled, so we didn’t use them. The coffee machine didn’t work and there wasn’t free water and the price of the water available to purchase from the mini bar was extortionate. There is a train line behind the hotel which is fairly loud but didn’t seem to bother us too much. There is a lot of building work going on at the moment and this did not stop until 4pm in the afternoon one day. They gave us a free drink to compensate for this. The pool area is stunning and there is plenty of seating and the spa is good. The restaurant staff and the food was fantastic. There was no lunch available in the restaurant and the bar didn’t open until late in the afternoon so we were stuck without food and so we used the complimentary bikes to cycle into Riposto but found it difficult to find somewhere that served lunch. The complimentary bikes were not maintained and other guests warned us off them before we left. The saddle on one bike continuously swivelled and I asked reception for a pump to fill the tyre on my bike and he handed it to me without an offer of help. Reception staff didn’t seem particularly bothered about guests which was a shame.

- Richard (10/5): Beautiful Property - Nice Oasis tucked into a small and quiet town. Amazing property - good for a stay and relax spot, close to other sites but not a ton immediately around. Excellent breakfast and pool - the smell of honeysuckles is mesmerizing.

Female Receptionist was cool and seemed hassled - other staff were friendly. Rooms that are glass boxes are uncomfortable, cold in November and our had a view of a hedge. Style over substance: bathroom 1 light - so impossible to shave/put on makeup, rain shower so faint no point in having it, only hand held shower worked, slippers x2 pairs broke within 5 mins, no tissues, no complementary water or tea, bathroom no heat - so unpleasant shower experience, no guest book with tourist info or instructions for anything except the spa. Go to eat - don’t bother staying the price isn’t comesurate with the standard of room & comfort. Much room for improvement

- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay at Zash! - The location is fantastic; staff was friendly and very helpful; breakfast was delicious. Only negatives are that the area around Zash is not wow and the venue could do with increased cleanliness given the cost of staying there.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice Hotel....BUT.... - The hotel is quite difficult to find, you definitely need a car with a sat Nav. The hotel itself is located right next to a train track which is very loud from about 5.30am and runs throughout the day. The hotel is very clean and the hotel staff were so lovely, the service is truly amazing, with staff walking past the pool area throughout the day asking if you need anything which they bring for you very rapidly. The chef at the hotel restaurant is just amazing. Breakfast / lunch and dinner is just delicious at Zash. All in all, I would recommend this place. However if you are looking for complete peace and quiet I would not stay here. There were also a lot of families with young children who were being really noisy at the pool during the day.
- lazymoz (10/5): old building with very contemporary additions - We loved this hotel, especially for its architecture and design. Very stylish. Think stylish rather than conventional luxury and you won't be disappointed.
