- Jonathan (10/5): - Casa Sol is a meticulously renovated 18th-century courtyard-style building that once served as a a compound for an extended family. The location is ideal, just a few minutes' walk from Plaza Colon and one block from the north coast of Old San Juan. Eddie and Trish, the hosts, are people-loving people who enjoy chatting with guests. The intimate setting at breakfast means guests can easily interact with one another, and you'll probably meet interesting people. This is a wonderful alternative to the large hotels.

- Staci (8/5): - The property itself is beautiful. It was conveniently located in Old San Juan, but parking is about 10 minutes away. The breakfast was wonderful and served in a beautiful inner atrium. The hosts provided a great list of recommendations for restaurants, shops and things to do in the area. The property was a bit noisy, as people were loudly talking in the atrium during quiet hours and our room was also near the street. The ceiling fan/overhead light evidently had a universal remote in all rooms. Our light and fan randomly came on in the middle of the night, more than once!

Tisha and Eddie were especially patient and kind with my 2nd grade daughter who is learning Spanish. They even invited us to the local drum circle in La Perla, which Eddie plays in, which was one of the highlights of our trip. I highly recommend this spot and these folks. We'll be back one day! - Niall (9/5): Casa Sol is an excellent, comfortable stay in the heart of Old San Juan. - The location in Old San Juan was excellent. It's a beautiful and safe neighborhood. Easy walking distance to many historic sites, museums, and restaurants. The service was excellent and the breakfast is lovely every morning. They provide clean water for drinking and space to store your bags after checkout. The nearest beach is about a 30 minute walk or a short cab ride. There is an elementary school across the street, so it can be a bit loud in the morning on weekdays. This has nothing to do with the property, but this is just a tip I wish I had known: driving and finding parking in Old San Juan is a challenge and can be costly, so I recommend not having a vehicle during your stay. Again, that has nothing to do with the property, just a tip for travelers.

Everything is calm, clean, comfortable, and respectful. Breakfast each day (included) is beyond delicious. The rooms are air-conditioned and the beds are comfortable, and the location is perfect, walking distance to everything. We will return!

Only a minor thing but we found the pillows to be a bit firm for our taste and the cases were a bit rough, not as soft as we are used to.

The room was comfortable, the patio area was adorable, the dog was super sweet, and the food...WOW! Everything in Old San Juan is within easy walking distance. I love that the B&B was near the top of the hill which is a reasonable distance from the cruise ships. The further up the hill you go, the better the food (the ships are at the bottom). Breakfast was lovely - starting the day in a very relaxing environment. Eddie plays in local band down in La Perla, if you want to experience local life, spend a few hours taking in the sounds of the beach and passionate music. Appreciated the info about the Emancipation Day at the Cathedral… The only complaint I have is the musty smell of our room. It was particularly obvious when we were gone and returned to room. The jacket that hung in the room absorbed that smell, too. Some “Damp Rid” would really help.

The room was super clean and breakfast every morning was so so delicious. Eddie was super friendly and he allowed us to leave our luggage there for a few hours after check out with no problems. He also gave us some great restaurant recommendations nearby. Not ideal if you’re looking to sleep in. Breakfast is 8:30-9:30 and was so delicious that we always got up for it, but we would have loved to sleep in a bit. Noise level is also dependent on the other guests. The walls are well insulated so you won’t be bothered by any normal talking-level sound but we stayed the same time as some kids whose parents allowed them to run around yelling in the main area at 8am.

- Ben (10/5): Wonderful bed and breakfast with friendly staff! I loved it. - I loved this BNB. All of the staff were very friendly, and the owners made a point to meet me and talk with me personally when I arrived. They gave me suggestions on restaurants and things to do in the area, which I ended up following exactly. The room was large and comfortable, and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious. I really couldn't have asked for more. Next time I'm in San Juan, I will definitely stay here again.

We’ll be back! - Great location, comfy bed, high quality linens, delicious breakfast (and very accommodating of dietary restrictions). Tisha is a most gracious host. The family lives on site with their cute dog Oreo. Tisha gave us great recommendations for restaurants and sight seeing. They are very mindful of the environment with solar power and energy saving protocols.

Excellent restaurants, museums, shops and historical sites within walking distance. Quiet, calm, we felt completely safe in the old town. Breakfast included. It's not just ordinary breakfasts, it's like in an expensive elite restaurant! (Thank you Eddie - you are a real chef!) - Very tasty, satisfying and beautiful! The room was perfectly clean and comfortable. In my opinion, this is much better than the soulless high-rise hotels outside of old San Juan on the ocean. If you want to swim and sunbathe it's not a problem - Uber is very cheap here - 10...15 minutes and you're on the beach.. I recommend this hotel to everyone.
- Jo (10/5): Perfect honeymoon retreat in old San Juan - The bed and breakfast had the historic architecture with modern amenities. It is so close to all the attractions and very quiet. Breakfast was fresh and delicious and the host were absolutely the best every. They are full of knowledge of not only Puerto Rico but all of the construction and amenities they provided. Also there is a friendly little dog named Oreo - you have to say hello. I don’t really have any complaints. It was a wonderful place to stay and the hosts were so accommodating and friendly. I would have asked for the the two story room for a little more romantic atmosphere but our room was spectacular.

- Priscilla (10/5): Finding Old San Juan - The hosts were wonderful. Helpful and accommodating. I felt safe and well fed. Each breakfast was a work of art. At first I was disappointed that there was no TV or Netflix. Then I read the best book ever.

The location is also perfect for exploring all of Old San Juan by foot, with El Castillo visible at the end of the street and ocean views one block away!

Eddie is a good chef as we enjoyed our breakfasts on the patio each morning! Everything and the location was perfect!

Breakfast was very good all three days of our stay. The B+B was beautiful with a great shower and bed. The owners painfully restored the residence to make it a wonderful place to stay. Will stay there again on our next trip to Old San Juan. N/A
- Marie (10/5): Casa del Sol Bed and Breakfast - I loved the architecture, ceiling with exposed beams ,the room decor was fantastic with very comfy bed. Breakfast was delicious and Eddie and Tisha are accommodating and informative as to the area, restaurants and even got us a taxi to the airport.
