Guest Reviews
- Breanna (4/5): - The rooms were comfortable The noises at night not from people but static in the clock by the bed and a loud squeal in the middle of the night (the water heater) also the reception room smelled like straight cat urine…
- Alexus (3/5): -
- Susanne (3/5): - Location and price. It smelled awful and floors were dirty.
- Precious (4/5): -
- Jystice (9/5): -
- Jonathan (6/5): - The only problem was parking
- Laura (1/5): -
- Angela (7/5): Overall it was a good stay. - The room was very nice and comfortable. The pumping was not the best. The water in the sink had a slow drain.
- Renata (4/5): Discussed - The room me and husband stayed in it had bugs in it had to move into another room we will never go back there again
- Carthen (1/5): - Nothing Big water puddle on the floor coming from the air conditioner around the bed. Roaches everywhere, shower head has no pressure, tub and sink stops up water
- Rene marcial (1/5): -
- Tasha (2/5): Terrible - Nothing It was dirty and smell bad and it was awful
- NaTasha (2/5): - Sta
- Lorraine (2/5): Very poor - The bed was filthy and there were roaches in the room.
- Melinda (1/5): Bad -
- Earnestine (9/5): Superb -
- 385jaylam (2/5): terrible, don't waste your time - This was an overall terrible experience, I went with my family and stayed for about a week due to personal issues, Red Roof Inn was close and a bit pricey but our only option, we'd stayed in 2 separate rooms and experienced bugs in both rooms many times. The microwave and mini-fridge smelled reminiscently of RoseArts crayons and made my family members weak and shaky after rewarming a meal and eating it, the smell having been suffocating.
The television set, being listed as having "Free expanded cable" though me and my family, mostly consisting of children, could only watch paw patrol and the ID channel, (I'm pretty sure it is the name) which was mostly for the adults. A rude and overbearing housekeeping who knocked on the door and attempted to open it if not stopped by me, The pool is not open or clean even though the official website says "Seasonal pool" and if summer is not the season for the pool to be open then I guess disregard this part, though it wouldn't make any sense.
Another smaller detail is the inconsistency between the soap, some rooms had bars of soap while some only had the dispensers below the showerhead. The AC unit in room 223 had writing on it that showed the way to turn it for a specific temperature, I appreciate the effort to not confuse their guests but with the way staff has been, I wouldn't be surprised if it was all to save their tails from a call to the front desk by a confused customer.
In regards to the front desk, the entire lobby smelled horrible, I went inside for the first time my last day there and I had to leave from the pure stench of pets and what I can only describe as mildew, my stomach was burning more and more every second I was in there. The manager (who I think is the one who drives the silver car parked outside the door) hosts an entire family in the lobby including a pet.
On my last day, which was today by the time i'm writing this, me and my family's reservation was cancelled by the ''owner of the hotel'' because my family and I didn't check out at exactly or before 11 AM, though we were only late by from 3-9 minutes and its not like we were loitering or squatting on their property.
Overall, this motel is not worth the money they try to squeeze out of you every day, needs a liftup in the cleanliness department, and a crane machine level liftup in respect in staff.
- Marcos (10/5): - Good
- Gina (4/5): Disappointing - I by lii I me the room. I didn’t like because pool was closed, ice machine dysnt work and no breakfast.
- Leanna (8/5): Very good -
- Delitha (2/5): - Lobby had a foul odor. Rooms were horrible. Visible roaches when we checked out the room. And smelt like foul Still waiting to get a refund back.
- Luz (4/5): - I had several roaches in the bathroom, I didn't notice it anywhere else during my two day stay. You pay for what you get, price was low so I guess this was to be expected.
Needs upgrades and extermination.
- Scarlett (2/5): - Stains on sheets and just nasty! Tub had cigarette burns on it.. felt unsafe..
- Maedine (1/5): It was all around terrible! - The location was near the freeway and food. The staff was rude. The entrance was dirty and smelled like sewage. I alerted the front desk and there was no response. When going to bathroom I moved a hand towel and several roaches crawled from behind it .. I had to leave immediately. Only stated about 2 hours .
- Dawn (8/5): - The clerk was super nice and helpful. Loved how convenient it was to everything. We had a pet with us so it was nice having the ground floor!
- Jerbria (1/5): Bad -
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brandy (1/5): Shitty - The bed sqeeked, dirt on floors, dirty dingy sheets
- Olivia (2/5): - It smelled like urine and there where dogs locked up somewhere on the property barking loudly. No elevator so my mom was not able to get upstairs.
- Sherry (3/5): Although we had paid for the 2 night reservation, we did not stay there after all of the issues listed above. If I had k - Fred, the person on duty at the office, was very accommodating and pleasant. The hotel was close to where we needed to be. The room had large pieces of dirt and food on the seat of the lounging chair in the room. There were only a few pieces of toilet paper left when we checked in with no extra roll in the room. There were brown stains on the curtain and the bed sheets.
- danette (2/5): So dirty!!!!! - The hotel room was gross. Very dirty. Stains on bedding and towels. We killed several bugs. We were awakened by men working outside our room at 5 am. Painting, scraping and talking loudly. The room looked like it hadn’t been touched in weeks. Dust and bugs and stained up bedding is ridiculous
- Shauna (1/5): Not clean, or safe for families, lots of drug use!! - Staff was very friendly Rooms were not cleaned and reeked of marijuana, there was obviously drug activity going on, did not feel safe at all!! Drops of blood on the toilet and tub, needless to say we did not stay there!!!
- Pamela (5/5): Passable - The staff helped me to change my dates of stay to a day earlier by checking me in on Wed and charging my credit card. But I have NO PROOF that I wasn't charged for both Thursday and Friday, as originally booked in error! I never heard back from Booking's customer service about my request to change my stay starting a day earlier.
I was given a room with a defective door, very hard to close. The deadbolt did not work! The shower head has a sideways leak also. , spraying out into the bathroom.
- Teresa (9/5): Superb - I was thankful I didn't have to ask for fresh towels. They simply provided the service needed. That's hard to come by these days. I was disappointed there was no coffee pot in the room.
- Sylvia (10/5): - Loved our stay!
- Oren (1/5): Bad - Nothing Bedding was stained. TV inop. Sink drained pathetically slow. Door to room had been previously broken into and barely would latch. Not enough towels for 3 guests. Cockroaches. Walls dirty. Tub dirty. Cigarette stains on tub in a non smoking room. Couldn't accommodate a 1st floor room for handicapped grandson. Checked out a day early because of deficiencies.
- Christal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Relax57391862696 (2/5): Probably worse hotel stay ever! - Stopped here for one night. Big mistake! Should of kept going. Fred the manager is a low life unprofessional human being. Has no issue yelling at a customer and being rude simply because a customer pointed out their was issues! Are you too dumb to realize without customers you would not be making money! I don't know how they allow someone like this to treat customers like that and still have a job! But it shows where this country is as a whole. Wet dirty floors when we walked in, stained pillows, mold, trash, and dirt under the bed. The rooms must never get a deep cleaning. It's hard to say if anything gets washed. I thought with it being Red Roof inn we were going to get a decent room but a homeless shelter would have been cleaner than this dump! Where we are from they close down hotels that are this bad! We never had experience this bad before in any of our travels. It should not be tolerated but they don't care!
- Ivan (2/5): - Stayed only because it was close to where in needed to be for work. ROACHES are present. A/C vent filthy & appeared to have mold. Lobby smells awful, cats hanging around, but the employees are nice. Place needs to be shut down renovated and exterminated. Sheets were filthy. So I slept on the other bed in the room. Usually don’t write reviews but this place was pretty awful. Keep this in mind before you book.
- Larramendy (1/5): Disappointing - Only place close to family we were visiting The cleanliness. Hair in tub, bed and floor. Stained towels. Sheets stained.
- Sarah (1/5): Terrible. Never coming back. - The price only. The website has photos posted that are false.
The room was dirty and smelled like a raceway bathroom. I had to leave to buy febreze and clorox wipes.
The toilet seat was broken (not attached to the toilet).
The dead bolt on the door was broken.
The manager of the establishment was not in the office to check me in or check me out. I and to wait 10 plus minutes before seeing a person.
Parking was okay and close to my room.
The hotel was located in an unsafe area with people loitering outside my door.
After wiping surfaces and insides of drawers, the wipes were dark brown and dusty.
The alarm clock AND tv were not functioning. No cable etc.
The bedding smelled unclean also and had stains.
The fridge was uncleaned.
- Patricia (1/5): I want my money back - N/a They had roaches really bad said it was because of the storm
- Deondria (4/5): Never again... - Location There were only 4 options for hotels in this area apparently. Looks can be deceiving when you're looking at the pictures of the rooms on your booking site. It never fails in some cases, the rooms either look horrible in person or they actually live up to the pictures. So let's start with the first impression of the hotel. I wasn't impressed but I was just going to give it the benefit of the doubt and hope the room looked better. There were 2 men that checked in before me. The guy at the front desk was very nice and welcoming with them but when it came time for my turn, it was like a switch turned off and he was very bland. I needed a walk in level room but he stated that they have been booked for 6 months and didn't have anything...yet he had just sold a walk in level room to the men before me. The pictures speak for themselves! I had more pictures but I'm only allowed to post 4. I will not be staying here again.
- Bryan (3/5): Poor -
- Jennifer (1/5): If your trip leads you to Bay Minette stay elsewhere. - It was a place to sleep after a super long trip. Everything.
- Kali (4/5): They need to remodel completely! - The man at the front desk was exceedingly polite! He was very welcoming and the location is convenient. The room smelled musty, there were stains on the sheets, and blankets. The pillows had a yellow tint to them from use overtime. The bed rattled. The tubs were stained yellow. I asked the cleaner for better sheets and she acted like she wasn’t allowed and said we only do that on “Wednesdays “ then proceeded to ask the manager for permission. The ONLY reason we continued to stay for the time we did is because our job reimbursed us for the stay.
- Juanetta (5/5): Passable -
- Russell (5/5): Passable -
- Jonie (8/5): Very good -
- Kristy (10/5): - Easy parking and didn’t like that the pool wasn’t open.
- Brenda (1/5): Bad - Housekeeping staff was friendly and understandable No parking space had to park in non parking space.
My room breaker kept having shortages I couldn't watch the 2024 Paris Olympics one side wall outlets were out
There was no telephone in my room I kept going up and downstairs just to let staff know bout this problem of shortages.
Not enough sets of towels.
Downstairs ice machine wasn't working had to go other side to get ice
They don't change sheets only in Wednesdays I checked in on Thursday no bed was made..I did it myself! Also pool not Open!
This was terrible how do I request refund for false advertisement
- Chris (1/5): Bad -
- Annette (1/5): No elevators for disabled people - It did not have the disability access fir disabled person. I had a room on the second floor. And I asked the staff member if there were any elevators he said no only stairs. And I was very disappointed and I explained to him that I will have a hard time trying to go up the stairs and he stated to me that they do not have any rooms on the first floor all the rooms were booked due to some event. And I told him that I booked this for disability access but he stated that they do not have access like that and if I want to cancel I can and he will refund the money back in my account and it will take a few days for it to clear in my account. I told him due to traveling 8 hours I was very tired and I needed some rest that I will try to make it up the stairs. It took me over 30 minutes or so to get up the stairs I was in pain all night due to taking the stairs. And the next morning July 20, 2024 at 8:30 am I went to the office and told the staff member that I can not stay another night due to it was very hard for me to take those stairs. He said no problem he will cancel my stay and I should receive confirmation in my email of the cancelation. No elevators
- Barrington (10/5): - Its was good for the price. Nothing wrong.
- James (5/5): Close for one night - Room was quiet and good cold air Bathroom not cleaned and tub not cleaned used towels still hanging in the bathroom and only one set of clean towels. Sheets not changed out from before. Pool was closed
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Kenyetta (3/5): The a/c worked well & the tv was nice - Convince The room could of been cleaner the bed sheets had stains the bathroom had hair on the floor & tub I’ll never visit this facility again
- Kevin (5/5): I should have gotten a second floor room as a kid was running around in the room above mine until 1:30am making it hard - Close to the location I needed to be at. While the room could use some updating and repair for the price you get what you pay for
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (1/5): Bad -
- Hensel (8/5): Very good -
- Tommy (7/5): Good -
- 1033 (3/5): Poor -
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Stayed there before and it was nice, but this time threw the covers back comforter had stains on it, they straighten the bed up without changing the sheets, had yellow stain, crumbs, and blood stains on it, the head lady did come and clean everything for us, and the office smell when you go in, overall they're not doing a good upkeep on the hotel at all , doubt if ill be back at this hotel when i visit my hometown
- Julianna (1/5): Disgusting - Nothing Everything
- Royster (3/5): Poor -
- Z6823GObeatricep (2/5): HORRIBLE ALL THE WAY ARROUND! - This Place makes me itch now just thinking about it. My Father rented Room 112 on May 31,2024 to June 1. He reserved 2 beds, First off when we entered it was only 1 bed for 3 people HORRIBLE.I suggest they close down and remodel, It just looked nothing like the pictures on the internet .I felt like sleeping in the car. The rooms were not clean, there were stained sheets and puberty hairs on the sheets as well as stringy hair in the bathroom. The shower head was coming off the wall, the shower curtain smelled putrid and dirty. My family was in town for a funeral ,so we had another room 122,the air conditioner was not blowing cool air and the vent was so dirty it looked like covid lived in there ,this is by far the worst hotel that I have ever stayed at. They need to rent these rooms by the hour. JUST HORRIBLE.
- Edward (2/5): - Everything about this place is nasty
- Daddy (10/5): - Very clean and well maintained
- Marcus (4/5): -
No coffee maker in room. Told the staff my shower was not draining. They aske me if there was a plunger in the room instead of just saying they would take care of it. They plunged it but it still filled up while showering.
- christina (4/5): - My room was infested with fleas and I have have tons of bites. No where to sit outside pool area was closed. Staff was great!
- Saundra (10/5): - The rooms are nice and roomy. It was clean and the customer service was great
- Candace (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (6/5): - One stop in a longer roadtrip across country. Small town easy access to multiple food options. Safe. Quiet. Inexpensive
- April (6/5): - The sheets and towels didn’t look clean!! They had stains
- Verified traveler (6/5): It was an ok stay - Rooms were clean. Beds were rock hard. No breakfast in the morning and the soda machine did not work.
- Screws (3/5): Poor -
- Justin (6/5): - Affordable and in a great location
- Meechie (9/5): Superb -
- LaTorya (6/5): Could Be Better - When checking in, the scent of cat urine was unbearable. I literally tried to hold my breath while checking in. The towels were dingy. There was no towel rack, so the towels were just chilling on the counter. The comforter was dingy and had very noticeable stains. The toilet is not properly secured to the floor. They could definitely use some upgrading.
- Erica (7/5): Great hotel for comfort, but bad if you want your stay to be confidential. - I loved the location and comfort of the room. No breakfast and the cleaning staff (Christine) was caught gossiping about me after she thought I had left...I returned to retrieve my contact I had forgotten and she was literally talking about my stay to another person.
- Mario (8/5): The room was huge and clean I will be staying again soon - There was no breakfast N/A
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nathan B (2/5): - Lobby smelled like cat pee. Room had a horrible odor. The desk chair metal was rusting and the big chair by the a/c had tears in the cloth. The a/c unit was also very dirty. The tv remote would only turn the tv on and adjust the volume, it would not change channels.
- Ronnie (8/5): - Good place
- Aubrey (6/5): - My deadbolt would not lock.
- Martha (10/5): - I always stay here when I visit my college student. It's a good price and it's convenient for me because there are two grocery stores right next to it and several restaurants. We walked about 30 seconds to the Pizza Hut next door and then just relaxed with a pizza movie night. The owners and cleaning lady are nice. It's nothing glamourous but it's just right for what I need.
- Lynda (10/5): - The property is reliable. It’s reasonably priced and the updated rooms are a plus. The staff were friendly and always willing to help.
- Lacammy (4/5): - My room was dirty the blankets were filthy and the check in process was terrible. I had to call the hotel in order to get someone to the front after ringing the bell more than once.
- St (8/5): Very good -
- St (8/5): Very good -
- Jada (2/5): - Pillow had mold dirty bathroom curtains, sheets and towels not white and they act like it was a okay thing when we told them
- Linda (4/5): - The rooms was not as clean as they use to be the bathroom was dirty. The water pressure was horrible and the sheets was stained
- Valanda (10/5): - Na
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not A Goid Stay - I have stayed here before. This time was not good. No phone or clock in rook. Room was not clean. The room smelled old and damp. Urine smell outside room. Front desk when checking in smelled awful. Animal smell of having dogs. I told management. They keep dogs in office.
- Carolyn (1/5): Rundown and dirty. - N/A The facility is very run down. We booked while traveling but when we got there we were very disappointed.
- Paul (4/5): - I killed 3 roaches and a spider in the room on the 1st night. The smoke alarm battery died at 2am and the unit chirped throughout the night. The remote control for the television didn't work so the tv was stuck on one channel. The staff seemed friendly and promised to repair the sensor for the tv remote and change the smoke detector battery before the next guest checks in. I decided to cancel my second night and just go home a day early.
- Kathy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Debbie (3/5): Poor - The location was good. The room smelled Like mildew & was damp. The pool water was green. The floor of the room was filthy.
- Rebecca (2/5): Gross - Filthy, dirty, disgusting and smelly
