• Nino (10/5): - Un hotel basic dove non manca nulla, c’è tutto! La camera con vista sul mare era spaziosa. Ci sono spazi comuni dove mangiare e caffè sempre disponibile. Nei dintorni ci sono buonissimi ristoranti e 2 kombini. Molto consigliato!!! Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo!

• Bryan (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay. Having access to a kitchen was great, the staff were friendly (even offered me some soba noodles one morning) and the sea view from my window was great. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, as was the chair I was sitting in to work for a bit. There are stairs in this property (no lift) so it may not work for everyone.

• TOMOAKI (8/5): - 共同のキッチン、コインランドリー、各階に電子レンジがある(今回は４泊のため使用せず)ので、長期滞在に向いていると思う。無料の駐車場がありありがたい。畳にツインベッドの部屋だったので、ゴロゴロ出来て良かった。入館時に靴を脱ぐ必要がある。エレベーターが無いので、スーツケースを軽くしていないと少し辛いかも。

• Steve (10/5): An oasis - A truly awesome oasis on the edge of town, with superb views over the bay, and lovely owners who go out of their way to help you. The other guests were also friendly, and the set-up of the open kitchen where you can prepare your own meals is a bonus. Actually the best bonus was the free coffee available 24/7. That was a blessing to the two drowned rats who made it to the hotel in a torrential downpour… You would be hard-pressed to find better accommodation on the peninsula, and far less likely to meet nicer people. 5 big stars.

• Daisy (8/5): - The owner lady and her are delightful. The room is facing the sea which is creating dramatic atmosphere. Just the stairs are a bit hard to carry luggage’s, but the owner’s son gave us big help to carry the cases for us. Overall fantastic experience to stay in Shari.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Very nice - 房間乾淨、海景很漂亮、有免費熱咖啡可以喝。 地點離商店有點遠，不過來這裡的住客都是開車，所以不成問題。 比較不解的是發生三次詭異的現象，吃完晚餐回到房間後，蓮蓬頭自己打開噴水，而且還是開到最大的那種，因為不是小小的水流，所以也不是沒關好的緣故，因為每次離開房間回來後就又開始噴水，最後決定邊錄影邊鎖門，回來再開錄影，但這樣做卻又一切正常了，後來開車也累了，所以也沒有再在意了。 （老闆的想法覺得是門關太大了或根本沒關好🤔）

• TAKAHARU (8/5): 気楽に楽しく - 滞在中は快適に過ごせました。2泊しましたが、ホテルの方も親切で気さくに話をする事ができました。ただ、食事の提供がなく、食事する場所も限られていて少し不便でした。自炊ができるので上手く食材が調達できればコストダウンできて楽しくやれます。因みに2泊とも食材を買って来て食事しました。出来るだけ簡単にできるものをチョイスして。良かったです。

• Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly and comfortable - A small hotel that was friendly and comfortable. The view of the Okhotsk Sea from the room and terrace was wonderful. As mentioned in the description, you can cook your own meals, and there is free coffee for the guests. It takes a walk of about 20 minutes to get to the port of Utoro (for boat tours of the Shiretoko Peninsula and the bus centre) and "Godzilla Rock". There is a ramen and yakitori restaurant about 10 minutes from the hotel. I would definitely stay there again if I have the chance to revisit Utoro!
• Takako (10/5): また行きたい！ - 大型ホテルでは味わえない、靴を履いたらすぐ海という好立地、ゆったりとしたテラス、そこで海と星を観ながらのビールは格別。オーナーのママさんと息子さんのさりげない心遣いやトークで心地よく過ごさせて頂きました。食事の提供は現在はされてないので、食料の準備は忘れずに。共用のラウンジには広いキッチンや冷蔵庫があるので好きなものを持ち込み、好きな時に食べ飲みできるのでとっても便利！今回はショートステイだったので、次回はオーナーさんのレクチャーを受け、釣りにチャレンジしたいです。また行きたいです！！今回はお世話になりありがとうございました。

They can also give a ride to one of the restaurants in the city (of their choice) which can be very useful (restaurant will give a ride back). Free parking space and great sea breeze

• Daryl (10/5): Amazing Hospitality & Great Vibe! - The hotel was about 20mins by foot from the Utoro Onsen Bus Terminal, so it was slightly inconvenient with our luggages. That said, the owner of the inn was really friendly and welcoming, which more than made up for the inconvenience. She even gave us 2 bicycles to use for free during our stay (compliments for guests who did not travel by car) and drove us to the Bus Terminal several hours after the check-out time. Facilities-wise, the pantry/kitchen was very cosy and comfortable; the balcony a great place to relax and view the surrounding scenery, the room clean, thoughtfully decorated and well-equipped (hairdryer, kettle etc). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here (and also playing with the adorable dog!).

The caretakers were extremely helpful and friendly. i simply felt at home with the nice hospitality. Do remember to request for pick up service. You’ll have a wonderful experience in Utoro!
• Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful view, great staff - Hotel is on a quite part of the old coastal highway now bypassed by a tunnel. Rooms are small but well-equipped and the view over the harbour is great. The staff is really friendly and helpful and the restaurant serves excellent pizza with local ingredients.
• Verified traveler (4/5): One of few sub-par lodgings in Japan?? - Iruka in Utoro claims itself to be a hotel, but it is operated like a low-end minshuku (guest house). It has one great attraction, its location is right by the sea, beautiful view of the sea throughout the day. Other than that, general quality of the place is rather poor, primarily because it has been around for quite a few years. And in fairness, maintaining such a place is rather difficult for small lodging owners in Japan. Overall, it was not what I expected. Fortunately, I only planned a 1-night stay. There is however one pleasant surprise, lunching at a boutique cafe about 600 metres down the road. It is named GVO, the owner is a sea urchin fisherman during "Uni" fishing season, so his specialty is cooking uni in a variety of ways. I had Spaghetti Uni - perfect!!!
• Michele (10/5): Good location, view and pizza - We stayed 2 nights to explore Shiretoko. We stayed in a family Japanese style room with 4 futons. The futons were comfortable and plenty of space in the room. A fridge also In the room and you can use their dining area and deck to have your afternoon drink while taking in the view. If you walk over the hill you will catch the sunset. The pizzas are delicious and the staff really helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel.

• Abraham (10/5): Nice hotel by the seaside - Great place to stay. Clean. Bed and breakfast style. Take off shoes and put them in a locker, switch to slippers in the building. A little farther out from the main part of town, but within walking distance (about 1 km). The owner works very hard and is very nice. Speaks decent English. Breakfast is also good. She also sells pizza for dinner if desired.

• Wing Lok (10/5): This is a quiet and nice hotel. - Quiet hotel besides the shore. 20 minutes walk to nearest convenience store. Attached photo was took at the nearest food shop. 15 fifteen minutes walk time.
• Neil (10/5): Great hotel. - The hotel is situated overlooking the Sea of Okhotsk and a lovely view can be had overlooking the sea from the hotel restaurant's terrace. The restaurant serves excellent pizza. Toppings range from the traditional to more Japanese in flavour. The hotel is clean and I found the bed in my (Western style) room to be very comfortable. Free wi-fi is available and also free parking. What really stood out for me though was the hotel's staff. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful and made my stay even more special.

Everything was new but perhaps a little flimsy. Hotel has a wonderful view of the bay with a balcony restaurant serving tasty pizza amongst other things

• Drusilla (8/5): Clean and Comfortable Guesthouse - This place is more like a guesthouse. Its a lot cheaper than the other hotels offer. Its pretty clean and comfortable. Would recommend you this place if you are driving in that area because it is not really accessible. Love playing with their very friendly dog. It came greeting us when we first arrived. The dog's name is Akuri (Ikura spelled backwards). Its a rather good place for a day or two stay. But don't expect too much because its a guesthouse. You may not be able to see sunset from the room. But sunrise may be possible.

• Gim Tee (8/5): Nice n clean hotel - The location is near the Shiretoko National Park. The room was clean and comfortable. There is no lift but we had help from the staff. The free breakfast was good. The path to the parking area was a bit tricky n challenging.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel close to National Park Center - We occupied the 2-bedroom apartment with all the kitchen facilities. Helpful staff to recommend all the places to visit around Shari area since it was wet weather when we were there 2 days.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Very charming hotel with a great view of Utoro. - The hotel was in its last legs of being refurbished during our stay, so there were still scaffoldings outside our window. Despite that, the view was great plus the hotel & room was so new, clean, comfortable and charming that we did not mind. The staff speaks English fluently, which made us feel right at home. We opted for the mixed Japanese/Western breakfast which cost 750Y per head. The hotel also offers a good selection of pizza (1150-1250Y) for in room dining or in the cafeteria.
