• David (2/5): - I could not stay at this hotel. I stayed one night and left the next day. It would be fine for maybe young surfers or I'm not sure. I just couldn't stay there.
• Michael (4/5): Tired and grumpy! - Great staff, good breakfast. Very disappointed in the “villa” which has seen better days. Extremely tired room, bed uncomfortably soft, lighting very poor so unable to read (unless you sit outside and get eaten alive by the insects) Outside bathroom ok, particularly the shower, but the novelty of walking over the wet and leaf covered floor to use the sink and toilet soon wears off. Sleep deprivation was the biggest issue; noise from local boom-boom party until 3am on the first night, and noisy drunk neighbours at 2am the second night, and awoken at 8am both mornings by the generator on the building site. Paid for 4 nights, left after 2 nights. Also worth noting that it says adults-only, but that isn’t the case.

Tyvärr bygger de ett stort flervåningshus på tomten (det byggs lite överallt vilket medför rätt mycket oväsen) för att klämma in ännu flera turister. Snart är charmen med denna platsen förstörd och det blir inte värt att åka till. Vi vill framförallt rekommendera Wawyan, som inte bara körde oss utan delade om sitt land och kultur och förtod precis vad vi ville uppleva. Ett stort tack till honom som har ett stort hjärta och som gjorde vår vistelse lite speciell. Vi hoppas träffa dig igen.
• Daniel (10/5): A great stay in a peaceful setting - Really nice stay. The expectation was quite basic and that is what is was but for the money and location was definitely worth the 5 stars. The bed was very comfortable, AC was good and quiet. The room would benefit from a trash can and brighter lights but otherwise it was excellent.

• Janie (10/5): Great place to stay - I stayed in Kubudiuma for 3 weeks! It was awesone! I wanted to extend but they were full and i was sad about it. I would have stay another 2 weeks there! Here is a deeper review if you want all info First: Service is impeccable. The staff is so so nice! Breakfast was geat also. It had choices of eggs, pancakes, juice and fruits. It's basic but it's perfect. My room is clean. It's a quiet area. It's near the beach and lots of restaurant. The bed is confortable. They clean the room every day with new towels every day. The bathroom is minimalist, i was not use to have the shower directly into my toilet, but you get use to it. At least the hot water is there and the water runs! You can have a good shower there! They offer laundry service which i found really useful! The gym isn't directly at the location, but it's a walkable distrance and it is a good place to work out. I had a great time. I would come back here anytime I was a female, traveling solo in a regular room and always felt safe.

• Sharon (8/5): - This is exactly what you pay for- it is 2 star so facilities are basic and minimal. However, the manager and staff go out of their way to make you comfortable and welcome. I suggest this is perfect for couples who want to be alone; as a solo traveller it was a little too quiet, as the pool is pretty basic, the beach is really for surfers, and lighting in the basic villa pretty low so difficult to read at night (tv but only local stations). Great place to see how real Bali lives, and plenty of dining options within walking distance.

• Hannah (2/5): Stay Anywhere Else!! - Don’t stay here! I tried to stick it out for my 3-night booking, but couldn’t stay more than 1 night. 1. The bathroom sink did not drain and quickly collected stagnant water and dead bugs 2. The toilet leaked constantly, so the area around the toilet always had standing water 3. The remote to the AC did not work, and I was awake for a good portion of the night because the room was FREEZING. 4. There were large cracks between the wooden slats of the walls/floor/ceiling that I could see through. They were cleaning when I arrived, and immediately after it began to fill with bugs and geckos. It was impossible to walk across the floor without stepping on the huge ants. 5. When I woke up in the morning, there was a big piece of poop on the floor - definitely not from a gecko. So something much larger came in during the night. 6. Over the course of my stay, there were numerous small bugs and ants that I found in the bed. I disposed of them as I found them (which is why the owner didn’t find any when he took a video of the bed immediately after my departure to try to disprove me). 7. The bedding was stained and had holes - I think that some of the bugs in the bed came out of the mattress, pillows etc 8. The electricity turned on and off ranging from every few minutes to every few hours 9. The host was VERY unhappy that I was leaving, to the point that he slammed his hand against the car as I drove away …all of that and he refused to refund. Very unhappy!

• Verified traveler (10/5): - It is run by a great group of staff who give a really nice family feel to the place. They have their young kids there and they all seem to know each other really well. Their are stray dogs around that are seemingly the pets of the property and they will hang around, they are not too dirty but they can be a little annoying. However, I really enjoyed my stay here. The locator is in a nice quiet area and with a scooter or if you want to stay active, walking, things aren’t too far away.

• Verified traveler (8/5): - A lovely little property. The manager was always friendly and accommodating, and the staff were eternally helpful and joyous. There was minor maintenance or building work going on at odd times during the evening (i.e. one or two drills), but hey .... they’re on a different time schedule to us, so overall, it was a very minor annoyance which kind of added to the Bali charm of it all. Thank you for our marvellous stay, Wayan ... we didn’t want to leave!

• SurferJoe (10/5): - Wayan was a super host, going out of his way to ensure our stay was comfortable and pleasant! Terrific communication before, during and after our stay. I love the slower pace of Perenenan Beach compared to what is now the hustle and bustle of Canggu's Batu Bolong and Echo Beach. The grounds are very calming, the staff is super nice, the villas are amazing and there are terrific eateries down the street and only a 5 minute walk from the beach. What more could you ask for? Look forward to staying at Kubudiuma again! Try the Lasagna at Birra and Pizza down the street. Amazing!
• Solo (8/5): - Perfect location. I had the top of the bungalow amd really enjoyed my stay here. Definately one of the smaller bungalows but doable. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful with anything you need. Grounds and pools are clean and quaint. Continental breakfast is homemade to order and really tasty. Just too many bugs to deal with being that we could only eat outside. The night time can get a little noisy with the bar next door, but not too disturbing. There is small market right next door for convience. About a 5 minute walk to the beach side.

(10/5): Great property - This property ticks all the boxes - clean, great staff, good breakfast, two pools to choose from, in a quiet part of Canggu but only a 10 minute walk on the beachfront to the busier street / La Brisa beach club, restaurants, etc. There are a number of cheap massage places up the road, and some very good restaurants - Padi Padi is great, Wasabi, Cafe Yess to name a few. Breakfast is also provided. What more could you want for such a great nightly rate? Thanks to Wayan the manager, his family and staff for a good stay.
• Claire (10/5): Friendly, welcoming place, close to the beach - After a long drive from the airport, through to the other side of Canggu, we arrived at the villas. We were greeted by a very friendly, helpful receptionist, who turned out to be the manager, and with many appologises, told us there had been a mix-up and our room, one of the bungalows, would not be ready until the following day. We were shown to the alternative room, which was very nice, and as the price difference between the 2 worked out at only about £2 we didn't complain. They sent a welcome juice to the room, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, the air conditioning unit started pouring water, so we had to move again, but they sent porters to move all of our things. The following day we were moved to the bungalow, which was lovely and felt very private with only 5 in that area, next to 1 of the pools. We were not offered any trips, although there was a poster for a trip to nearby islands, and the trip discount, which was part of the information for booking with Expedia was not offered. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, there is a water cooler available for free refills, they can arrange for taxis, laundry, scooter hire, if required. Breakfast is simple, cooked fresh and tasty with options of eggs and toast of pancakes, with either fresh fruit, or fruit juice of the day. Overall a very nice stay, away from the hustle and bustle of main Canggu. There are several nice restaurants within short walking distance, or places along the beach.

• Judith (10/5): Definitely worth considering - There are 3 distinct areas within this property - 4 Older style bungalows surrounding a small pool, a motel style block of 8 units overlooking the garden beside the larger of the two pools and an area of new deluxe bungalows overlooking the garden under construction which leads to the small river at the rear of the property. I booked a bungalow through hotels.com – the photos on the website did not represent that of the actual bathroom of my bungalow. I was not satisfied with the bathroom and spoke to the manager. Without any hesitation on his part I was upgraded to a deluxe bungalow. The room itself was lovely, was lacking in natural daylight. The bathroom was beautiful. Comfortable seating on the balcony allowed use of the back garden which is currently under construction will be lovely when it is completed – it Le ads onto a small river at the back of the property. The breakfast area was a beautiful new Balinese bale which is beside the larger of the two pools. While we were there they installed speakers which allowed Melanese music to be played in the area and was this was very pleasant while eating and swimming. A small convenience supermarket is located at the front of the property. Transport can be organised by reception upon request. There is a beach located within 15 minutes walk of the Villas. Shopping, surfboard hire & nightlife is a 15 minute drive from the property. There are restaurants, bars and Warungs within walking distance of the property.
• Kohei (6/5): - It’s pretty cheap so overall it’s okay to stay if you wanna save money and just want to have a place to sleep. However, there are some points we have disappointed. 1. There are stones in a room for shower and toilet. When you take shower, all ground of that room will be totally wet, and it’s little dirty. 2. Pool is dirty, low maintainance 3. Staff are nice but I prefer them to do work more and clean the facilities. 4. We had to wait for 30mins although we have reached after Checkin time. Recommend to stay in echo beach cheap hotels not here.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Charming Canggu Villa with excellent manager - The manager Wayan, and the entire staff, made sure that my experience here was amazing. Wayan delivered five star service, which made the stay so much better. The entire staff is wonderful! The amazing guys who help with the luggage and clean the rooms deserve five stars, also the lovely ladies who serve breakfast. Everyone was always smiling and accommodating, making sure guests were happy. They are emulating the service quality of a 5 star hotel, making this place a top choice when traveling without a 5 star budget. I felt very safe here. I forgot my macbook in the bungalow when I moved to an upstairs suite, and a few hours later, Wayan delivered it to me in the pouring rain, safe and dry. At first, I was also a little concerned when I walked unnoticed into the room while it was being cleaned, with the door kept wide open, and my valuables in full sight. But Wayan assured me it was safe and that they haven't had any theft at the villa. They also provide a safe to lock your valuables which I recommend using for peace of mind and an extra measure of safety. As far as the reviews mentioning sewage odor, the smell is not sewage, but sulphur, and it was fine. There are a few good restaurants within 3 - 5 min walking distance, and the beach is a safe 7 min walk away. It's one of the few areas in Bali not over run by tourists, where you can still see local life. I highly recommend this beautiful hideaway in Canggu!
• JY (2/5): Below expectations! - Firstly, the villa address and phone number given in the Expedia booking confirmation is incomplete and wrong. Finally, when we reached hotel and tried to check in, we were told that the 2 rooms villa that we booked are not available due to double/triple booking by many booking websites. There is only one double room villa in the whole premise. So, very often guest will need to settle for whatever single room that is available. The whole premise need a full upgrade as it is old and broken. No window shades for the bathroom windows. No hairdryer was available. DVD player was not functioning properly. In the morning, we waiting for 1 hour to get our simple breakfast of 1 cup of tea, 2 slices of bread and 1 fried egg. On the bright side, the hotel manager was very helpful in helping to arrange for local tour.
• Tammy (10/5): Happy stay at Kubudiuma - Firstly and most importantly, the staff are amazing! They are the heart and soul of the place. They are always friendly, willing to help and do all things with love,care and pride! They are simply outstanding! The location is peaceful and calm. It has options around it for entertainment and dining. It is also located near to the beach. The accommodation was clean and comfortable! We couldn't have asked for more.

It was a quiet place, 5 minute walk to the beach, and if you wanted to get to busier areas it was easy to walk there. Would definitely stay here again.

• Mel (6/5): Great staff but a bit out of the way - Wayan, his family & staff were amazing & it was very peaceful. Unfortunately there was no restaurant or bar to eat & relax at but thankfully a great resto across the road. The location is outside of Canggu & not within walking distance to anything - this was a bit deceiving from the maps we looked at. This makes you feel a little isolated at times. But the staff are more than happy to help you arrange transport. If you want out of the way then this could be for you.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Charming villa a few minutes' walk from the beach - We really enjoyed our stay. While not a pinnacle of luxury, the villa is comfortable and charming. We couldn't have hoped for more friendly and helpful staff. Our 6-year old daughter was made welcome, and loved playing in the two pools. The villa has bike and moped hire - and this is a great way to see the local area. The villa also has a little grocery shop. On the street there are a few other little shops, a few restaurants, a couple of massage parlours, and a gym that has an arrangement with the villa (to allow guests free entry). There are also temples and rice-fields to see. About a 3 minute walk down the road is the beach, where we were fortunate to see a hindu ceremony early one morning.

• Krissy (10/5): Great, quiet place for families. - We started our trip here and I'm so glad we did. I traveled by myself with my two children aged 9 and 12 and wayan and the staff made us feel so welcome and accommodated. Set amongst the rice paddies and just a short stroll to the beach, this place is idyllic. The only sounds at night were the geckos and the rolling waves. We stayed in the two storey bungalow which has two queen size beds. It's huge and hosts two large bathrooms that are open to the rain which is a real treat in the Bali heat. My only concern when we first arrived was that the upstairs and downstairs rooms are not connected in case the children got worried in the night but after the first night I need not have worried as they felt so safe and comfortable here. Halfway to my next hotel, I realised I'd forgotten my passports and had to turn around to get them but wayan was just so lovely about the whole thing and of course they were still safe that it made what could have been a horrible mistake into an experience I can look back on and laugh at my silliness. Thank you again for having us, we'll recommend you to everyone and will definitely be back again.

The place seemed so quiet and tranquil, and it definitely is a place where you can just relax. Out of the three places we stayed in Bali, this is the only one I would stay at again.
• Corinna (10/5): Small hotel with a lot of charme - It was my second stay in Kubudiuma Villas as it has a very nice and laid back atmosphere, beautiful garden and the staff is very nice and helpful. It is a 5 minutes walk to the Pererenan Beach via which you can reach the other beaches given there is no high tide. There are also scooters and bicycles for rent. I would always come back!
• Janice (8/5): Nice place close to the beach - Kubudiuma Villas is a cute little hotel within a 5 minute walk to the beach. We stayed on the second floor of the main building which was a contemporary hotel room with A/C and balcony. It was quiet, the balcony was nice, TV, A/C and mini fridge.
• catalina (8/5): Outside Canggu cute resort - The best thing about this place is the service. Wayan receives you like you're family and everyone is always smiling and eager to help. However, this does not extend to a discount when the room you are paying for has no working AC over night. We sweated horribly because of the heat and terrible humidity. In their defense, I didn't complain that same night. It seemed like a pain to walk down and across the hotel but I did inform them the next day as soon as I saw anyone. A little discount at the very least seemed appropriate. The place is very cute, the rooms and bathrooms are very big. My shower head fell the first day, I didn't complain and just used it as a hose bu wen I went to use the restroom after checking out I saw they had just merely put it back, so it will fall again. They should just fix it well. I don't particularly like the location as its NOT in Canggu (10 by scooter or car) and the only place you can walk is a beach where you can't sun bathe and the waves are intermediate level, so as a novice, it's not a beach for me. If you are intermediate surfer, the location is awesome because it's a 5 min walk.

• Ran (8/5): great value for money - Wayan and his crew work hard to make sure guests have the best experience they can, good location, good pools.
• Natalie (10/5): Nice Balinese vibe - Second time here (last time was two years ago) and it is still lovely. I read some varied reviews from other guests and have to say that perhaps those people were expecting 5 star luxury or are just fussy in general. Staff are friendly, amenities clean, beautiful Balinese decor/gardens throughout the property and I will definitely be staying again soon. Just lovely.
• Traci (8/5): Great location - friendly and lovely staff - We thoroughly enjoyed our timeI in the villas - great location, with a short MC ride to centre of Canguu. staff could not have been friendlier, basic room but clean and pleasant with lovely gardens.
• Ben (10/5): Hidden Gem - We couldn't recommend this place enough. We stayed three nights and loved it. The staff were so nice and helpful. The breakfast was simple but delicious and it's nice and quiet and surrounded by rice paddies. Still just a few minutes to the beach though with great waves. Convenient store out the front of the villas too. Amazing stay. We will miss it.

• Judith (10/5): Perfect stay at Kubudiuma - The stay was in every way great. The people are nice, helpfull (sometimes almost too much as I'm not used to it), comfortable bed, relaxing areas and two stunning Pools.
• Phill (10/5): Close to beach, other food if you want it! - We had a good stay here, arrived and upgraded without asking, staff more than happy to help out or give information on surrounding area. 5 minute walk down quite road to beach than another five min walk along beach to Echo Beach. Shop at front if you need extra water etc, transport easy to arrange. If you want an early breakfast you can get it 30 more up the road. You won't be disappointed here.
• angela (10/5): A special little gem - Kubudiuma is tucked away on a quiet road close to a beach and a couple of surfing restaurants and not much else. The staff here make the atmosphere really special, they sing and giggle as they go about their work, giving the impression that they love working here and they want you to love it too. They felt like friends by the end of our stay. Try and stay in a bungalow and enjoy the authentic Bali vibe. The pools are spotless and perfect for a cool dip. It isn't luxury and plenty of things need a bit of attention, so don't stay here if you like big glitzy hotels with lots of activity. Do stay here if you want to step away from the world into a very special little world
• Talitha (10/5): Fantastic!! - This villa is gorgeous and the staff are all fantastic, very friendly and accommodating. While the hotel itself doesn't have a restaurant the one up the street is awesome or a quick walk down the beach brings you to the main strip of canggu! I would recommend gettin a motorbike to get around on, however this place is great as it's close to everything by motorcycle, kuta, ubud, canggu etc but its still nice and secluded!
