• Barb (9/5): Very glad that we chose this B&B. - The location was excellent. It was a nice neighborhood and we were able to walk to Parliament Hill, Byward Market, and several museums. Good restaurants were available. Breakfast was amazing. Our host really tried hard to surprise and please us. The bathroom was very tiny and uncomfortable.

He went out of his way to create a beautiful and delicious breakfast for his guests! I looked forward to it each morning. We walked to the UOttawa campus, to skate on the canals and to tour parliament. I wish we could have controlled the temperature in our rooms a bit more. It was warm enough; at night we just cracked a window.

Rooms were nice, the location was convenient, and having parking was WONDERFUL. Breakfast was also outstanding everyday! Location is maybe 5 minutes to the canal, 10-15 to Byward Market, walkable to most downtown museums and sights, even in below 0 temps! The only, very minor issue, was that the shower never seemed to get properly hot. The water was warm and was warm enough for a shower but, after being outside in freezing and below-0 days, it didn't get HOT the way I wanted.

Vittorio was extremely accommodating and helpful plus the breakfast was outstanding for both taste and presentation. • Simon (9/5): Very comfortable and clean property, well positioned, and with an amazing breakfast. - The room was a good size, the bed was very comfortable and the property was clean and well heated. Breakfast was amazing, our host was very friendly and helpful with places to visit and eat. The accommodation was easy walking distance to downtown Ottawa, and the attractions we wanted to visit. Overall a great place to stay. There was a dining room and another room downstairs, but they were set up for breakfast, there were no couches or comfortable chairs where you could just relax and read outside your room.

• Hans Joachim (9/5): Angenehmer Aufenthalt in einer angenehmen Atmosphäre, mit leckerem Frühstück. - Die Unterkunft liegt in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße, recht nah am Zentrum von Ottawa. Vittorio bietet saubere Räumlichkeiten und eine angenehme Atmosphäre im Frühstücksbereich. Das Frühstück bereitet Vittorio liebevoll in einer hohen Qualität vor. Den Gästen stehen u. a. im Kühlschrank Wasserflaschen zur Verfügung. Vittorio selber geht aktiv auf die Gäste zu und kommt mit ihnen ins Gespräch. Der Aufenthalt hat uns sehr gefallen.

• Sonja (9/5): - Der CheckIn war ohne Komplikationen, wir haben die Codes und die Lage unseres Parkplatzes über Booking.com zugesandt bekommen. Es war sehr leicht zu finden. Vittorio ist ein toller Gastgeber. Jeden Tag gab es selbst gemachtes Frühstück mit jeweils verschiedenen Eierspeisen, Pastrys, Smoothie, Kaffee, Orangensaft und Obst. Die Lage und der Preis des kleinen Bed and Breakfast ist unschlagbar. In wenigen Minuten ist man zu Fuß bei allen wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Da es nur vier Zimmer gibt, ist die Betreuung sehr persönlich und überaus liebenswürdig. Das Bad ist schon sehr klein und der Stiegenaufgang ist sehr schmal. Mit den Koffern war es ein bisschen schwierig.

Victorio est un hôte au petit soin, sa gentillesse se ressent des l’arrivée. Son petit déjeuner est excellent. Quant à l’emplacement, nous sommes dans un petit quartier résidentiel calme tout en étant proximité des points d’intérêt de la ville.

Ospitalità di Vittorio super, a partire dalla disponibilità alla squisita colazione preparata con cura ogni mattina. Posizione comoda per visitare Ottawa a piedi. Parcheggio privato gratuito. La camera non era molto spaziosa ma considerata la tipologia di struttura è normale sia così. Il bagno era invece effettivamente troppo piccolo.

• Jamie (10/5): Warm welcome and a brilliant breakfast - Breakfast was truly excellent, freshly made with great ingredients. The room and the whole B&B was exceptionally clean. A very warm welcome and flexibility when I needed to leave my luggage on my checkout day. While the location is very quiet, there was some noise from other rooms which was a slight disturbance.

We had a few questions and he was able to answer all of them and was very helpful. The breakfasts were fantastic and the house was quiet. Plenty of room for parking our car. Bottled water was greatly appreciated as our stay was very hot - air conditioning was superb. I would have liked a dest to work from and our room didn't have a desk. On the Booking.com website it stated that rooms had a desk. I should have asked the property owner to confirm that there was a desk in the room but I was remiss in doing this. I would suggest that if you are going to be working, that you make sure you request a room with a desk.
• Danica (10/5): Exceptional - This was our 2nd stay at The Century House and won't be our last. Vittorio is an amazing host and chef, the breakfasts are wonderful. The place is quiet, even when you stay overnight on a busy holiday such as Canada Day. There is nothing to dislike about this place or the experience.
• Kieran (9/5): Very good. - The hotel was great. The person running it was super nice and helpful. The room was clean and very nice. The breakfast was incredible. The location was also pretty good. Highly recommend. As it's a small place with only a few rooms you may get unlucky. There was a Canadian couple in the next room that snored like a jet engine taking off. However, there is nothing really the hotel can do about this!
• Calvin (9/5): Great location with parking and gourmet breakfast 😋 - Location is excellent, and a friendly host who doubles as gourmet chef at breakfast time (served 8 - 8:30am). Don't sleep in! Old but clean house (bring your slippers) with tastefully modern decor blended with the old charm in this heritage home. Free parking on site, located on a quiet street too. I would come again. The bathroom in our suite was on the small side and had one of those low toilets. The floors upstairs are the original hardwood so understandably a bit creaky, as was the base of our bed. That said we slept like rocks, woke feeling well rested.

• Dawn (9/5): Quaint and lovely B&B - Location is very close (walking distance) to the very center of Ottawa. The house is kept super clean (guests are asked to remove their shoes). It's away enough from touristy areas, so no noise (I'm a light sleeper and had no issues). Quiet hours are observed by guests. And the owner lives in the same building. Breakfast is provided but see note below on details. Although breakfast is provided, everybody eats the same prepared meal. In other words, there are no options to choose from. That's a limitation if you are not particularly eager to eat waffles, pancakes, etc. No meats as far as I could tell. Also, it was a surprise that breakfast is served between 8-8:30am (no hot breakfast after 8:30am). Keep in mind that you absolutely need to pack warm socks or slippers as the floor feels like ice especially in winter time (from bathroom tiles to kitchen linoleum).

• Katarina (9/5): I had a great stay here and would definitely recommend it! - This B&B was great. The location is excellent! It's very walkable to busses, trains, the UOttawa campus, grocery stores, restaurants and bars, and main attractions like the parliament and Byward Market. Vittorio is a very attentive host, making excellent vegetarian breakfasts every morning. I booked through booking.com and he always replied to messages quickly. The house is beautiful, with a lovely main floor and four bedrooms upstairs. My room had a private bathroom and lots of space. The only inconvenience I experienced was being cold quite often. The rooms don't have thermostats, and the hallway was kept at 19°C which was chilly. The water in the shower didn't get fully hot either, only warm, so I couldn't warm up that way.

The property is located within walking distance to the parliament buildings and the other main attractions. It was very quiet. Inside the home was immaculate. Incredibly clean. The owner Vittorio was amazing. The breakfasts served were delicious! There was safe, free parking for our car. Vittorio is an exceptionally considerate host. We highly recommend you stay at the Century House Bed and Breakfast when visiting Ottawa. You'll be most pleased. one or two blocks near the B&B are a bit edgy (as in all N. American downtowns) but walking around those blocks you won't see anything and will feel safe.
