Guest Reviews
- Steve (4/5): - It’s clean and up to date, but very noisy, bed was very hard and noisy also, fire alarm went off once during the night. Could hear people upstairs and in hallway all night. Very secure though.
- Steve (4/5): - Noisy. Clean. Secure.
- Bernardino (8/5): - Diferente ter uma cozinha que você faz tudo sozinho. Mas estava tudo limpo. Faltou um pouco de atenção dos funcionários.
Café da manhã, médio.
- guramritpal (8/5): - Good
- Hamed (2/5): - Awful management, unprofessional and terribly dressed receptionist, locked hotel door which I had never seen before, dirty and yellow stained beddings and curtains, awful so called breakfast, noisy at nights.
This is at the level of a hostel not a 2 star hotel. It is not worth the money at all.
I do not recommend it to anyone.
- Elton (4/5): - Made my Wife paid double when I paid already Expedia
- Ryan (8/5): - Clean room, breakfast needs to be served earlier and have more variety of foods.
- Maryam (8/5): - Very friendly and Helpful Staff
- savvybarry123 (10/5): Great hotel with great staff - Stayed at this hotel. Rooms were clean. Staff were friendly. Building was extremely quiet even though they were quite busy. Breakfast was very nice with lots of choices. I would recommend this place for any travellers to Saskatoon.
- TouringDJ (8/5): Very close to Royal University Hospital! - This place is very close to RUH. Great for hospital visitors or those who travel from out of town and have an early appointment @ RUH. *Look for sign -out front- on grass -for parking lot entry. Rooms are small to average size but very clean! Free Netflix which was nice!
Some booking issues initially but staff rectified and were pleasant. Basic breakfast included. Coffee available in breakfast room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice bed, nice bathroom, breakfast included, quiet, overall good stay
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disability concerns - My husband has back problems & is a smoker, he was asked to walk to a far area outside to smoke because he was told that the hotel was concerned about the neighbor’s outside air
- Dwayne (10/5): - Very clean. Friendly staff
- LauraH75 (10/5): Great place to stay near University/hospital - My daughter and I stayed for 1 night while in Saskatoon for the U of S Open House. It was a very short walk to the University. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
We had 2 twin beds, which was perfect for us, and we enjoyed the free Netflix!
Breakfast had a good variety of foods, the rooms were very clean and everything worked well. They very kindly let me leave my car parked there until the next afternoon because their lot wasn't full.
I thought it was a really good value, and I'd stay there again if I needed to be near the hospital or the University.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Liked location...Hospital. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable. Impressed with the kitchenette...a lot of choice given for the complimentary breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location and clean rooms. The staff was helpful.
- cromestone (10/5): great helpful staff - generally very clean and helpful staff. This was my first time in Saskatoon. First day there, a man named Aria helped us, and insisted that if we had any worries to find him. Helped us with directions as well as our bags and even offered to bring me around as i was new to the area. extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend.
- 737emmanuelo (10/5): Great place - My colleague recommended them. I've stayed here twice now and both times I have enjoyed my stay. My room was clean and the beddings were fresh and comfortable. The air conditioner works and the staff are friendly and helpful. I would choose refresh again for sure!
- Verified traveler (2/5): not worth the price - The pictures on the site makes the room seem larger than they are, very tiny no dresser. For the price we paid so not worth it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean and comfortable. Exceptionally friendly staff!
- Salmanita (10/5): Just what I was looking for! - I am an Ontario native and I stayed at the Refresh Inn for a few days in September before I was to take an exam at the University of Saskatchewan and I had a wonderful stay. Not only is the price affordable on a student budget, the hotel is right across the street from the University which was very convenient as I could just walk over to the exam and save on transportation and parking. Excellent security measures are in place, and being a solo traveler this was very comforting. The room was quiet and clean. There was more than enough space for me and my books and the room had everything I needed: a bed, desk, fridge and washroom. The staff was very kind and helpful, assisting me to my room and making sure I knew where to find food around the neighbourhood and providing directions when I needed it. Even when I came to the lounge for the hot/cold breakfast (which was included in the price) they gave me a tray to carry my breakfast back to my room so I could study while eating. They also had dishes to use for the times I brought my own food, it was super handy. I will definitely stay here the next time I am in Saskatoon and will be recommending it to my colleagues as well. Thank you Refresh Inn for a lovely stay :)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Loved the huge kitchen and big TV with Netflix! Room was great too.
They also let me park the morning of checkout, so helpful!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Elevator was different in that you had to hold the button until you got to your floor for it to work.
- chrisg576 (2/5): Very UNRefreshing!! - I would like to start by saying that I am a mild mannered, understanding person who can tolerate a lot of “bumps” during travel. I have travelled 6 of the 7 continents, lived and worked in Asia on a long term assignment, which cumulatively has allowed me to be fortunate enough to have a broad understanding of what staying in a hotel is like and to know what travelling is about. My wife has similar experience as I do and what we dealt with at the Refresh Inn & Suites lastnight is what I would consider the poorest customer service and business etiquette that I can remember receiving from a hotel, hostel, motel, nomadic tent in the Sahara, room above a brothel, etc.....what may you ask drives this differential? Honesty and basic business skills.....none of which can be claimed by the management of the Refresh Inn & Suites. After I sustained a significant injury we drove in from out of town(3 hrs) to get triaged for surgery, Refresh appeared to fit the bill based on location, reviews, etc.. We booked the hotel over the phone and were quoted a rate with taxes in, which I clarified with the hotel worker Aria 3 times and mentioned that it would be my wife and two children and I would join them maybe later if the surgery was going to happen that night or not. Upon my wife’s arrival they gave her a different price, then she had to argue with them and they finally changed the price even though it was held at the original price with the credit card....they then said that if I was to join them that I would have to pay extra...at this point(11:00PM) with two crying over-tired kids(18 mths & 4 yrs old), she had no option but to take the room. I arrived at 3:00AM from emergency after being there all afternoon and evening to find out that he wouldn’t let me into the room unless I paid $16.65. Throughout this process management had been contacted by their staff to dispute this issue and they would not speak to us and said that they charge by the head so we should be paying more and to consider being lucky to have the lower rate regardless of what the employee quoted on the phone. There was no attempt to honour the original quote and no mention of a “per head” fee on the phone...I personally find it asinine that they charge a per head charge on toddlers.
Signed,
Unrefreshed Guest
- reineyw (10/5): Highly recommended - Refresh inns is a modern and very clean place to stay. The service is fantastic! All the staff members are helpful and courteous. I stayed while my husband was having surgery at Royal University hospital. It was so convenient to simply walk across the street instead of driving and paying for parking. I have stayed here multiple times. Janice From Regina
- Juan (8/5): - Great value for the stay. Excellent location and quality for any doing CaRMS interviews at the university. Respectable continental breakfast and friendly staff!
- 669rr (10/5): Lovely shared kitchen and common room - Comfortable basic rooms and friendly staff. What makes this exceptional is its unusually large and well-equipped shared kitchen and eating room, with two big ranges, shared fridge (in addition to small fridges in the rooms), loads of cooking equipment, and individual food storage space for each room.
- amirahmad (10/5): - Very satisfying stay . Very flexible and helpful front desk
- redcoat70 (10/5): Excellent Value - Ideal locale for many. Near University and Hospital. Easy access to downtown, mall(s) and major Hwy routes. Room was very neat and clean as was large bathroom and other amenities. Small fridge and desk. Wifi equipped. Bed was very comfortable and although room could be described as "no frills" by some I wonder just what that means as all my needs were met. Very quiet at night and each room has assigned parking stall. "Sam" and staff most accommodating. Added bonus was large kitchen and eating area where all the amenities were available, ie: utensils/bowls/coffee and tea fridges etc. Another bonus I was not aware of was breakfast in this room which included hot and cold cereals/fruit/bagels/bread/muffins etc. Also storage area(s) in this room for those who wish to bring their own foodstuffs including fridge and microwave. Certainly received value for my money and I will return to this locale more than once I'm sure. Very safe and secure given security systems in place (ie: closed circuit television/and key cards.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to hospital. Walked there and back. Let us stay parked in lot till after Dr appointment even though we had already checked out.
- Maxine (10/5): Great location for hospital, university. - Great location if you want R&R, easy walk to the University Hospital and also to connect with main highways.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Rooms are small and spartan, but extremely clean and quiet. Right across the street from the University of Saskatchewan campus. Good breakfast selections.
- G6859LIcrystalm (10/5): Great location and staff - Although the room is a standard no-frills accommodation, it is very clean and the shared kitchen is great. Staff is super friendly and helpful! Location by university saved time and money on parking while attending a few day course.
- kjnimmert (10/5): Small town hospitality in the City - This place is a GEM.
My father had an appointment and tests early in the morning, so we came and stayed in this hotel so as to be close to the hospital. We do not live in Saskatchewan. We thought all we need is a clean bed, and then a check out. But we were blown away.
The room was small, we shared a room, and we could touch fingertips laying our own bed. BUT the sheets were SO clean, the bathroom was immaculate, and the bed was so comfortable.
We were worried that the hotel being on such a busy street might be noisy at night, but it was SO quiet.
The added touches like breakfast provided, and space to have a snack and relax in the common room was so welcome.
There is a laundry room even for guests to use.
Other hotels should be jealous about the service we received. The staff was so warm, welcoming, helpful and accommodating during what we felt was a stressful time (with having to be at the hospital and not really knowing where we were going.)
They allowed us to leave our car in their parking lot- they actually recommended if we were able to walk, to leave our car so we didn't have to worry about it.
They EVEN temporarily booked us a room for the night after our hospital visit, Judy in case we might need an extra night.
Seriously- a GEM. Next time we have to come to the Saskatoon for any kind of stay, we are staying here! We are so impressed.
- christineg399 (10/5): HIDDEN treasure - It's across from the Royal University Hospital within Walking distance. Rooms are small but if you only need a place to sleep they are clean and comfortable. You have access to a kitchen to cook your own food. The staff is friendly and helpful. They do provide a breakfast or you can buy frozen food their and cook yourself. One has to try it if you have someone in the hospital for days on end.
- B8976JOvanessaw (10/5): Excellent Stay - This was a great hotel experience. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable with all of the necessary amenities. The bed was very comfortable. I had a great stay and would highly recommend stay here.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - the reception was very welcoming and helpful . check-in and check- out were fast . room was nice. breakfast was acceptable.
- Lillian (10/5): Nice Hotel - Nice hotel in a good location. Staff is very friendly. We will be going back.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not what I expected! - It was okay but the parking was different and there was no bathtub just a shower so my 4 year old son was extremely disappointed! The bathroom was huge but I would’ve liked more room in the sleeping area. Area was clean tho so that was nice! The shower didn’t have a lip on the bottom so the water got onto the bathroom floor which was weird. Would not stay here again and would not recommend it!
- justined138 (10/5): Home Away From Home - Hands down my best hotel experience! Refresh was a home away from home for us while our baby was in NICU. The large kitchen area was open 24hrs a day and stocked with all the amenities you needed to make your own meals. It saved us from having to eat out at every meal. They also had a store with select items to purchase meals or snacks which we thought was fantastic! The continental breakfast was over the top! They offered more options than we normally have at home!! It was great as then you could switch it up if you were there for an extended period like we were. They also had washing machines and dryers available and bounce/laundry pods available which was another bonus for us. The location being only a few minutes walk to the University Hospital doors was huge for us. It wasn’t easy to balance parking (its free at Refresh), a toddler and a baby in NICU but being able to walk over at any point in the day that worked for us was a huge help! The staff here were more than helpful and actually cared about the people staying there. They always checked in to see how our baby was doing and if we needed anything extra they were sure to help out in anyway they could. I would highly recommend Refresh Inn and Suites for anyone needing to be close to the hospital or having to stay an extended period in Saskatoon!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Terrific Manager! - I previously submitted a review of my check-in which was very negative given the heat was not turned on when I arrived and the room was in the basement and frigid cold. When I ran into the manager he knew the review was mine and immediately apologized. Even gave me a free gift for the trouble and offered some discount should I return for another stay. He was a real professional and the inn is lucky to have someone with such great customer service skills and who is so on top of his job.
- stephanie (8/5): Nice and close to hospital - My son had a Dr appt and the staff was kind enough to let us stay parked at the hotel after we had checked out as the parking st the hospital is very hard to find.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel, great location! - Quiet, clean hotel conveniently located by the university. The staff were kind and accommodating. Lots of choices for breakfast! Would recommend.
- Cinnamonheart (10/5): Pleasant find - This place may be a well kept secret. Despite having driven by many times I had no idea what a gem it is. I found it to be clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and provided exceptional service. The large day/breakfast room has a big stove and ample cooking space. It appears to be designed to be appropriate for extended stay. It is conveniently located across the street from the University Hospital.
The rooms are adequately sized but not huge. I stayed in 2 different rooms which were both good. They have good sized mini fridges with a small freezer.
The wifi works wonderfully 😀😀.
I would stay here again and have already recommended it to several people.
There are 2 downsides. The tv in the king suite was rather finicky. I would also like if the window curtains were a bit wider to more easily cover the window.
If you call in and book directly you get a $10.00 discount.
- bev (10/5): A Happy Find - This property was a happy find for me. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. the facility is clean and bright. The wifi even work well. I have recommended it to others in my workplace who travel.
- Shelby (8/5): - It was good but did find some other people hair in my towels
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean hotel close to river and university - Very nice clean hotel , enjoyed the continental breakfast and the common room . It was within walking distance of various amenities and not far from down town .
- Rosanna (8/5): - Nice hotel very comfortable will recommend. Close to the University where my son would be attending. Staff very friendly and helpful.
- singingmel (4/5): Overpriced - I stayed here with my mother and sister and nephew and his partner whilst visiting my niece at the U of S. Firstly, I must say that this hotel is conveniently close to the university particularly if you do not have a car. However, we did have car and in the future, I would sty elsewhere and drive the extra few minutes.
Firstly, upon our arrival my mother, niece and I checked in and had several bags between us. The front desk attendant, showed us to our room which was in the basement, but did not offer to help my elderly mother with her baggage. She had to ask him to help her. We found this to be quite rude, and not displaying hospitality.
When we arrived at the room, it was dark and cramped with very cheap furniture. there was no coffee in the room, and we found hairs on the bed and in the shower. Later that evening, some very noisy people were outside our room drinking, and even knocked on the window several times.
If I were paying $100 per night for the room, I would have been more likely to overlook these things, but at the $140 that I paid, I could have stayed at the Holiday In or Best Western and had better facilities and service. No doubt my family will have many more trios to Saskatoon over the course of my niece's university career, but we will not stay at the Refresh Inn
- Sharon (10/5): Comfort - This is an excellent place to stay and very updated and very comfortable. I had a very relaxing stay and although this hotel is located on a main thorough road it's a very quiet building. Very clean and updated and close to many amenities. the main floor rooms across from the hotel quest kitchen is not really an upgrade as it is much too noisy with the constant opening and closing of loud doors and guests coming and going at all hours.
- Remo (6/5): - Great location, price and very clean but brutal mattress
- Campbell (10/5): Best place to stay near the hospital+ university - I had an excellent stay at The Refresh Inn. If you need to visit the hospital or university, this would be my first choice. Clean and well-equipped and the most helpful staff you will find at any hotel. I would choose The Refresh Inn again when next in Saskatoon
- oldlady0606 (10/5): Great place to stay while family member in RUH , June 14-16 - We were thrilled to find this comfortable, clean little hotel to stay in for 3 nights while my wife was a pt in RUH in Saskatoon.
Although we had trouble finding the location, my daughter made a quick phone call and was given welcoming directions. we arrived and checked in. It was perfect!
Walked to hospital 5-8 mins. Didn't have to move our vehicles once the whole time there. That was a blessing itself, as there is lots of construction happening and parking is a challenge at the hospital.
The rooms were clean and tidy, the common room welcomed you at anytime for tea, coffee, it had a fridge if you choose to make meals. TV and computer access , wifi was also available.
Sit down dining or fast food within 10 min walking , we loved this chance to stretch after sitting at hospital bedside for hours.
A perfect little place to stay with family in hospital. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Thank you for the wonderful service you provide so close to RUH.
- 787prc (2/5): Horrible experience - There was a malfunction with the fire alarm/smoke detector equipment late at night during my stay there. Despite the fact that no one had smoked in my room, nor did it smell of smoke or anything, the staff and manager accused me of setting off the slarn and tampering with the equipment (i wanted to silence the deafening alarm sound but did not do anything to the detector). i was told i had ro vacate the room at approximately 4 am amd was spoken to as if i were a child who had just misbehaved. i have never seen staff in the hospitality industry treat someone in such a disrespectful, inconsiderate, disgusting manner. I would recommend that you avoid this establishment at all costs.
- lenored185 (10/5): Outstanding service. Just right accommodations - For any activities on campus or visiting university hospital, this new hotel located across the street is ideal. Free parking, WiFi, & Breakfast, including gluten free options. Bright kitchen/lounge. Very clean. Quiet rooms with Comfortable bed & lots of pillows. Bathroom toiletries and a bright shower light. Good room lighting and enough plugins and USB jacks logically placed. Window opens. Set up for long stay guests. Reasonably priced. Extra stars needed for the exceptionally friendly & helpful service. I felt safe running back and forth to the hospital at all hours of the night. Not a 'destination' hotel but the perfect 'home base'!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to everything. - Exactly what I needed. The rooms are small, but comfortable. Even the floors were super clean.
- Trevor (8/5): Close to campus - Clean, basic hotel. This is all you need for an exam on campus. No coffee in room. Room is rather small. Nice staff
- Igor (10/5): Viable week-long stay option - Quite comfortable option for more than a single day stay. In other Canadian hotels merely getting a hot water for tea is a hard quest (which sometimes includes using a coffee-maker). In contrast, Refresh Inn has a kitchenette available for patrons with cooking facilities and hot water/coffee supply at all times free of charge.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice basic hotel. - Great location. Nice kitchen and continental breakfast. Internet was too slow to watch Netflix or browse using anything like YouTube. The hotel should consider adding more bandwidth capability from their internet provider.
- amore (8/5): good accommodation close to university - comfortable and friendly
- Lana (8/5): - My stay was great, very handy for me to get to my course at the U of S. Loved that they had Netflix!
- Adam (6/5): Clean, but poor customer service - They charged us extra for having a baby with us, ok sure no problem, not a big deal, but they woke us and woke up our kids calling after midnight to let us know we would need to pay extra.
- The Artist (10/5): Confortable and well located - I really enjoyed my short stay. The breakfast selection was above my expectations - and generous; the room where it was served was charming and well appointed. The staff member present was very helpful. Over all, beside a small fridge a little too noisy (I disconnected it) everything was spot on and I will come back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel for CaRMS interviews - Great location across from USask. Staff are very friendly and accommodating, especially when I arrived before check in time. Free breakfast is great. Rooms have Netflix. Everything I needed!
- NG (8/5): Very close to the University. - Well kept building, very close and convenient to U of S. Very nice sitting area but a little small. .
- Michael (8/5): Close to Royal University Hospital - This is a very well kept, clean, simple, yet tasteful inn that is within walking distance to Royal University Hospital (RUH) in Saskatoon. Friendly, helpful staff too.
- Kiarash (8/5): - The room was quiet and clean. The location cannot be any better if you have any business in the University, like exams or other visits). Some stuff are not available in the rooms, like hair dryer or iron and board, but can be requested to be delivered to your room. Room had fridge but no coffee machine inside the room however hot free coffee availble downstairs 24/7.
Good breakfast with a lot of choices.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent Place to stay. Close to Hospital. - Very easy to get to. The location is perfect for visiting at Royal University Hospital.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel - Nice quiet hotel. Great to get away from while going out of town for education. A gym or place to go running would be great. Rooms were good and cozy; perfect for reviewing information after some Netflix.
- Derek (10/5): Great hotel near University of Saskatoon - We needed to stay to help our son move to University. The staff was accommodating with our needs. It is a very nice new building. We got access to Netflix. Great breakfast set up. Just across the street from campus.
- Darlene (8/5): Nice location to hospital. - The breakfast was great and the hotel is very clean. The rooms are small but sufficient for the few hours in there when not visiting at the hospital. The only negative comment is that the beds are to firm.
- Perry (8/5): - Small basic rooms but very clean and new.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Handy for RUH - Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable and quiet.
