Nigel (4/5): - The location for central Malang was excellent. 10 minute walk. The first room was filthy so we complained and got moved. This was better but it's not a 4 star hotel. 3 at best.
David (4/5): Mala experiencia - Nada, no nos gustó nada. Solo que nos regalaron dos helados ahaha El hotel se cae a trozos , debiesen cerrarlo. Falta mantenimiento. La piscina está sucia, el agua es debiesen dudosa procedencia.

Jonathan (7/5): Convenient hotel near centre of Malang - Pleasant hotel close to the centre of Malang, on a busy main road. Staff super-friendly and helpful. Twin room was OK - nothing special - but clean and comfortable. 'Bathroom' comprised an open shower and toilet, and the wash basin was outside the door in a small alcove. Very comfortable and clean beds. Little disturbance from the traffic outside. Only one electric outlet (socket) in the room worked, which made it difficult to recharge phones and use laptop. Room safe was too small for laptop to fit. Breakfast was quiet on one day, and then the next packed as a delegation of some kind had booked in. Not a wide selection of breakfast food, but it was plenty adequate.

Simon (3/5): Yuk - Checking out of it and driving away I need to take some responsibility- I didn’t read the reviews, and I should have. The Hotel Lux Tychi has nothing lux about it. Overpriced, dirty, battlescarred, decrepit. I don’t expect everything to be super clean when I travel to other countries but this was next level dirty in a place pitching itself as moderately high end. It’s just lousy value and misrepresentation. Question for booking.com: do you guys audit properties?. This one is just so much less than the profile appears. Avoid.

I like the staff attitude and the way they smile is showing you that they are very warm welcome. The room has aa wide size and the Bed I REALLY LOVED IT. Only the bad smell from the carpet need to be fixed.
andrewsK6541SE (6/5): Hotel at downtown Malang - This hotel name used to be Kartika Graha. Old building with spacy parking lot in the basement. Room was little bit dusty, cleaning service supposed to clean table and everything. Breakfast not bad, have various menu of Indonesian and Chinese cuisine.

Martin (6/5): Lazy front desk and oddly maintained place - Hotel premises are quite good but the maintenance is poor. Front desk service awful. No hello, no goodbye (Muslim receptionists’ standard...I am not racist), I aksed where to find post and now answer. It only came when I asked 3 times. Then he waved his hand in the direction towards the door. When I asked which way and how far, the guy just said he doesn’t know. No service attitude. Similar happened during checkout with different person. Rooms are okay clean, breakfasts are Indonesian. Room aircon has must be getting the air from a place close to the attached My Place club as the entire night I smelled cigarette smoke. If I ever get chance going Malang, I pass this hotel in a good distance.
Alan (6/5): Mainly geared to local tourists? - This hotel wasn't my first choice and I regret that I haven't changed my mind. It has had some work done, but still needs more. There were two lights in our room not working when we arrived, not to mention that there was no staff to assist with luggage, except the security guard. The fittings looked worn and marked, and there was a smell of cigarette smoke. The skirting board was parting company with the wall, and one of the electric sockets wasn't put into the wall properly. Apart from that, the room was moderately comfortable. The food quality was acceptable, and the breakfast, which was Indonesian food, was reasonably good. However, the printed menus were a bit tatty and sometimes stained. There were a few too many insects, such as cockroaches and ants. I also noticed that the swimming pool seemed to have tiles missing, and at one stage the water was actually dirty.
