Sandra took such great care of us, from her warm welcome to a delicious dinner of soup, salad and apple crisp. We both slept over 9 hours on a bed like a cloud, with beautiful linens and pillows. The bathroom is totally new and has everything supplied. We enjoyed a leisurely morning, with Sandra spoiling us with a delicious, homemade breakfast. Thanks for a wonderful visit! We will be back!

- Maps01098506045 (10/5): Exceptional Bed and Breakfast 👍 - We absolutely loved our three night stay at Steeles Tavern Manor! Whilst in the states we love to try different bed and breakfasts. Sandra is an exceptional innkeeper who keeps her eye not just on the bigger picture, but the important details that make such a difference. She is gifted at hospitality and made us feel my restricted diet was no trouble at all. We took advantage of the local steaks one evening which were delicious. Sandra had made sure we had everything we needed to have a special dinner together. Breakfasts were yummy with a savoury or sweet option to please everybody. Our room was pristinely clean and beautifully decorated. Mattress comfy. I cannot say enough good things about this b and b.
- ChristenR871 (10/5): Always a nice stay - We have stayed in the Mountain View cabin twice (both summer) and the Treetop cabin once (February). We love the modern feel of each cabin. We have taken advantage of the breakfast like a local package each time and highly recommend. I have to eat gluten free, so I bring some bread or GF pancake mix, but my husband enjoys the mix in the package and the muffins. We bring a pot pie from home for our dinners, and just get lunch while we explore Lexington, Staunton, hike or whatever. This time we took advantage of the new spa and got a couples massage. Both therapists were lovely and it was a delightful way to wrap up Valentine’s Day!

We have stayed several times over the past 30 years and are never disappointed. Our most recent visit was over Valentine's weekend. A delicious Valentine's Dinner was available in-house and was wonderful. The included Breakfast was tasty and filling. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and very cozy! The Innkeeper Sandra was the best hostess! One of the highlights of our stay was the food! - 845dawnv (10/5): Birthday getaway - This was my 60th birthday trip. We stayed in the Shenandoah room. It was an extremely comfortable bed. There is a sitting area and fire place in the room. Breakfast was amazing with a choice of savory or sweet. We had fresh fruit, yogurt, and blueberry pancakes on day one. We had sausage quiche with potato crust and Belgian waffle with fruit and yogurt on day two. Snacks and beverages are available in dining area 24 hours. They had my sleepy time tea available and a delicious lemon cupcake. The first snow arrived and it made the property so gorgeous. Sandra was so helpful with suggesting restaurants and activities for us. I would highly suggest staying here.
- royaldd (10/5): Ranks with the best of the best! - We stayed here as a last minute decision for two nights on our way home from a week in Lancaster Pa. Great choice. We’ve stayed at a lot of b&b’s and this ranks up with the best. Beautiful rooms, excellent service from Sandra, wonderful breakfasts, delicious muffins and coffee available all day. And the most luxurious linens I’ve ever felt. I even ordered some of the towels before checking out! Will definitely stay here again. It may be a regular stop on our annual trip to Lancaster. And we were able to enjoy a November promotion!
- edwardcL7774JE (10/5): Pond View Cabin At Steeles Tavern Manor - Staying at Steeles Tavern Manor in the Pond View Cabin was a nice peaceful location. The cabin was very well kept and comfortable. We were able to bring our dog with us to stay at this cabin. There is a nice covered deck that faces the pond. We ate outside on the deck with a very nice view. There is a trail that goes down to a stream which was very nice and peaceful.

- Vacation225858 (10/5): Steelers Tavern Manor is Superb - We stayed at Steelers Tavern Manor for three nights in room #5 in late September of this year (2025). Our stay far exceeded our expectations. Our room was large, very comfortable and the bed and bathroom were both excellent. The Inn Keeper was great and most accomodating. Our breakfasts were SUPERB, and accommodated our need for gluten-free preparation. We would highly recommend Steelers Tavern Manor.!

The old mansion is gorgeous, with stately old, tall and gnarly silver maples flanking the beautiful entrance. Lots of rocking chairs our front. We lucked out, too, as weather was beautiful. It was a great pleasure to meet Sandra. She took such good care of us. Her breakfasts were first rate, and she had suggestions for about any kind of entertainment in the area. She had many Virginia wines available. The parlor and library were so comfortable downstairs. The grounds were beautiful. We’re not typically big fans of B&B’s but this one we would stay at again and again. Everything about it is 1st class- the rooms, the food, the grounds and most importantly the host, Sandra. There is a fine line between accommodating and overbearing. Sandra clearly knows the difference and that, in the end, is what makes this a 5 star experience. Our only regret is that we were only able to stay one night.

You get a delicious full breakfast cooked to order from a sweet or savory option. Innkeeper Sandra was gracious and informative and can help you find things to do in the area. There's a swimming pool, several decks and patios to relax on, acres to stroll or picnic on, and Sandra will even provide a bottle of wine and charcuterie board for your picnic if you didn't bring your own. It is very quiet and relaxing and a perfect place to wind down after a long drive and meeting.

The hosts were incredibly gracious and went out of their way to make us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The food was absolutely phenomenal—every meal was delicious, inventive, and truly memorable. We especially loved the gourmet breakfasts and special touches like homemade ice cream and treats in the afternoon. The property itself is breathtakingly beautiful, perfectly nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. From the serene pond and rolling stream to the well-maintained grounds and mountain views, everything contributed to such a peaceful and restorative experience. We left feeling completely relaxed and already can't wait to return!

We had a very difficult schedule and Sandra and Neil bent over backwards to accommodate us. The Inn is beautiful and clean and the grounds are immaculate. Delicious, filling and varied breakfast options. We had the best time!
- johnwG2411OD (10/5): Personal attention of hosts and thoughtful meals define Steeles Tavern as a destination - The Manor was an escape from heat with generous lodging including a separate sitting room and pleasant common areas. Sandra and Neil , the host, prepared extraordinary meals with locally sourced vegetables and steaks , but also heightened our enjoyment with personal touches that included a nice bottle of wine by the pool. Each stay we have had made us want to add another day to just hang out despite the local attractions.

As a matter of fact, the hospitality and beautiful surroundings and interior of the inn far exceeded our expectations! Breakfast was absolutely delicious and Sandra kindly took our preferences into consideration. The room was gorgeous and quiet, the bed comfortable (loved the jaulcuzzi tub!) and the grounds lovely. Additionally, the inn is close by the entrance to the Blue Ridge parkway. An absolute 10 out of 10 stay.

It is very clean and has up to date bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas while maintaining the charm of being a 100-year old building. Innkeepers Sandra and Neil were very helpful in helping us select things to do and other places to dine in the area. We hiked Crabtree Falls Trail, at their suggestion, which was perfect. The breakfast at the B&B was fabulous. We look forward to a return visit.
- abip857 (10/5): Great Customer Service - We really appreciated the excellent customer service. We had a small issue with one of the cabins and Sandra was very attentive and resolved it quickly. This a great location if you want to spend some time hiking either in Shenandoah or some hikes outside of the park within 40 minutes drive.
- 209ear (10/5): Relaxing retreat! - Beautiful home and grounds with welcoming common areas and tasty food! Stand-out features were the high quality towels and bedding, pool area and outdoor spaces, lovely Staunton Suite with deluxe shower and 2 stand-alone sinks. Very quiet and loved the little sitting area in our room with a fireplace and mini-frig. Had a great sleep followed by good local coffee in the morning. Enjoyed meeting the caretakers, who were friendly and responsive. Hope to return!
- RusinChris (10/5): An excellent Bed and Breakfast in an excellent area! - My wife and I visited over a long weekend in March to celebrate her birthday and visit the 'Natural Bridge' State Park. The B&B is wonderful! The grounds are marvelous, with hiking trails and a lovely creek flowing through it. They have cabins, but we stayed in the main building, in Room 2. The building was immaculately kept up, the showers were simply amazing! The breakfasts were also delicious. There's also a charger for electric vehicles, both the Tesla type and for others, this was great for saving gas as we toured the area. There are some marvelous sites around, including Lexington, the Natural Bridge and some amazing vineyards. This is a very nice place to stay, and we'll surely return if we pass this way again.

Sandra was very helpful in taking our reservation, she then kept in touch via texts and greeted us at the front door upon our arrival. The inn is beautiful. The property is picturesque with a fire pit, stream and pond. A nice place to stroll and stretch your legs. Our room was spacious, well appointed, comfy, quiet and clean. The bath had a large jetted soaking tub and rain shower. Neil made us an outstanding breakfast of Belgium waffles with fruit and a salmon/asparagus/feta omelet which was extraordinary! They are charming hosts. We give them a 10+.

We return here every year and would recommend it to anyone. Close proximity to some wonderful restaurants and charming stores. Be sure to visit the Cheese Shop in Stuart’s Draft and Smiley’s Ice Cream near Mount Crawford.

- Pathfinder561011 (10/5): Amazing cabin with incredible views! - Making the reservation for the mountain view cabin was easy. I wanted the breakfast option and grilled steak dinner option and it was easily applied to the reservation. Arrived at the cabin the next day and all the food was already in the refrigerator. The cabin was new and had huge windows with incredible views. There was a new gas grill on the porch and a hot tub already preheated! We stayed the weekend and fell in love with the place! Highly recommend!
- robinnH529JU (10/5): Romantic couples get away. - A wonderful get away with the hubby! This is our third visit to STM and our first stay in one of their cabins. They give the same attention to detail for the cabin as they do the Manor House. The view is calm, the hot tub is relaxing, and the stone fireplace is cozy. The bed is super comfortable. Everything is super clean. The kitchen is well stocked. I highly recommend STM. You will not be disappointed.
- LESDTM (10/5): Perfect getaway! - We just spent another fantastic New Years vacation at Steeles Tavern Manor in Virginia. We stayed in one of the quaint cabins on the property. This was our 5th visit and our 2nd time staying in Tree Top cabin. Trey & Dana are the owners, and they do a wonderful job of thinking of every detail to make your stay in one of their cabins perfect. The cabins are cozy, comfortable and exceptionally clean! The location is perfect...just a short drive to Lexington and Staunton, Blue Ridge Parkway, and lots of great hiking. If you're looking for a place to get some R&R look no further book a cabin or a room in the Manor, you will not be disappointed! During your stay checkout...Crabtree Falls for hiking, Stonewall Jackson House and Woodrow Wilson Library for some history, Yelping Dog in Staunton for gourmet grill cheese, Edelweiss for authentic German cuisine, 12 Ridges for wine and AMAZING views!

We were traveling with friends and Dana and Trey really accommodated the four of us. They also made great suggestions for activities in the area. One of the things that impressed me was their interest in our activities and their follow up about these the next morning. I observed that they did this with all of their guests which was amazing! It is a lovely, clean and very comfortable Inn. 4 rooms have king beds, and there is one with a queen bed. They also have cabins which you can rent. Great mattresses. Trey and Dana are excellent hosts. They know the area well, and can give advice on activities. There is a lot of fun stuff to do in the area. Although, there property is so beautiful, you might just want to relax. Some of our group went fly fishing, others went to a festival. Breakfast at Steele's is over the top.. Be sure and schedule a massage. I have done alot of traveling, and I highly recommend this Steeles Tavern Manor for a special experience. You won't be disappointed. We area already trying to figure out when we can go back!

- scrappygabby (10/5): Worlds Away from I-81 Intensity - The dichotomy is tangible: One of the USA's biggest truck stop locations sharing the neighborhood with this enclave of tranquility. Dana and Tre have that sixth sense of anticipating questions and requests with gracious aplomb. Breakfast is gourmet with a capital G. And Dana's morning presentation of activities is as comprehensive as one will hear anywhere. All who experience the nerve-testing drive on I-81 can surely find and feel an oasis of comfort at this place.

Peaceful, pretty, clean, inviting, warm, and super relaxing and low key. - Rooms The rooms are all very tastefully decorated and clean as a whistle. Nearby activities First, the general area is beautiful - good mountain areas very close by. We hiked a gorgeous trail with the highest vertical drop waterfalls east of the Mississippi! And the Rockbridge Vineyard is close by - we were there on Sunday afternoon and there was wine tasting (from which you can choose and open a bottle) and live music… it was at the vineyard and very fun. Safety Very safe environment… no concerns at all. Noteworthy details The breakfasts were really good - with great coffee and expresso. My wife had what she called “the best massage of my life”. And while she did that, I enjoyed a very educational and fun bourbon tasting - with outrageously good bourbons. I promptly came home and started my own collection. 😂🥃 All in all it was very nice, very clean, and just a great vibe. Decent sized towns are within 20-30 minutes drive, so this location is a great place to settle in and explore surrounding areas. Highly recommended!!

In addition to the main house, the property has several upscale cabins and a stocked pond. Our room was nothing special, but the public rooms are comfortable and attractive. Innkeepers Trey and Dana are exceptionally friendly and helpful -- the best recommendation for this B&B! We enjoyed an excellent breakfast, and Trey even made a cappuccino! After finishing in the kitchen, Dana came into the dining room and engaged each guest in conversation -- nice touch. Trey is an accomplished woodworker; ask to see his work.

Their warm welcome set the tone for a really nice getaway and they went out of our way to make us feel immediately at home. The room was beautiful and immaculately clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast both days was delicious! We enjoyed walking around the grounds and drinking wine on the deck while taking in the gorgeous views. We'll definitely be back!

Its a beautiful B+B home, with wonderfully decorated rooms. Its very comfortable and the staff are wonderful. The owners were fantastic, friendly, helpful and so accomodating. Even though we stayed only one night, it was so wonderful. The breakfast was delicious and so simple and gourmet. We will definitely try to come back.
