Staff was amazing too balcony was great. Little cheat sheet of local bars and eateries and entertainment was great too. Everything was perfect.

The bar downstairs was friendly and welcoming. Even if I didn't venture out, it would have been a great experience. Yet I did, and so much food and music was within a short walk up the street to Frenchmen St., and of course on Royal St.
- Dana (5/5): Passable - realizing it was portrayed as the True Tone, off of NCIS......That was the best thing....the fact that the room was on the 1st floor was great for me considering I have leg problems.... When I was looking for a room, so many of the places said no parking available.....I seen yours said parking available.....it was misleading to say the least.... although y'all helped us out with a pass.....just need to let folks know there is street parking only.....the furniture was very low to the floor....Bed was even on the floor....just saying not good for older people with any hip, leg, or back problems.....
- Johanna (10/5): - We loved our stay here! We stayed in the La Sirena suite which is at the very top of the building. Below I list some 'cons' but they weren't really cons - more of considerations for those who might be sensitive to certain factors. Pros: - Excellent location - relatively chill block but close to so much. - R Bar on the ground floor is a great no frills neighborhood bar with mix of locals and tourists. Lively but not overly crowded, superb staff, and old school movies playing on the big screen. - Very stylish suite, clean, good amenities. They had jazz playing in the room to welcome us plus two drink tokens. Cons - our suite was on the very top floor and the stairs are steep and narrow. Fine for us, but maybe a concern if you have mobility issues. - the top floor suite also is a converted attic, so the ceilings are slanted on the sides. Again, fine for us and actually quite charming, but if you're very tall and need a lot of space, this might not be so convenient. - While the noise from the bar was never an issue for us (again, top floor so we were a little removed), if you're sensitive to sound, you may want to find somewhere else that is not directly above a bar. Would definitely stay here again.

Staff was amazing!!!! Our room was clean and immediately put us in the New Orleans vibe! Spent a lot of time there. Street parking

Bar was nice except for the Eagle patron screaming at us for 3 quarters during the Super Bowl. He was drunk and obnoxious. It was unbearable so we left. But, not a reflection of the hotel. Parking is always an issue in NOLA. After volunteering for the Super Bowl, and returning to the hotel there was no Parking available. I drove around for 20-30 minutes, not really a big deal, and was expected, just a pain after a long day. A space finally became available. We were provided a city decal to prevent towing. Also steep stairs. The did put handles on the stairwell to assist with going up and down. It wasn't really an issue for us, but it was hard work getting our luggage up and down. Great for the glutes!

- Yesenia (6/5): - I booked this place for a bday trip and wanted to love it. And there were many things to like about it—the location was walking distance to the FQ and close to Frenchmen, the bar was great, the room was unique and provided a nice home base for my trip. Based on the photos on Expedia, however, I didn’t gather that the room I was reserving would be on the first floor/street level. Or that it would have two doors directly opening to the sidewalk surrounding the bar (no windows). I did enough research to know it was likely I’d be staying somewhere loud if I stayed near the FQ or Frenchmen but I didn’t know I’d be staying on the street level here and the noise made it impossible to get any sleep, even with the sound machine the inn provides. It wasn’t the bar music that bothered me. It was the sound of people talking directly outside the room, the sounds of the bar being closed down for the night (trash being taken out, bottles clanking, etc.) until 3:30-4:30 AM, and then the trash trucks coming by in the early AM. I imagine the sound buffer would be a lot better in the rooms in the upper levels so I do not mean to dissuade anyone from staying here—this is a nice inn and I would probably consider staying here myself again if I could get a room upstairs. I didn’t come to New Orleans to rest but staying in the Marigny Suite on the street level made it impossible to get the sleep necessary to make it through sightseeing and exploring, given the noise levels directly outside the room.

The staff even keeps treats for the dogs that are welcome to come by the bar downstairs! It was a great experience My only complaint was the pillows in the bed. Not my style they were flat as soon as you lay on them.

After a long afternoon of traveling, we were greeted by staff at the bar who immediately put us at ease and quickly showed us to our cozy and eclectic room. Everything about the location and ambiance was optimal. Our only regret was that we could not stay another night! Highly recommend this incredibly charming place.

- Shannon (10/5): Fun and funky stay! - Awesome room. Comfortable bed, seating area, balcony (shared) right outside our front door. Nespresso coffe. Nice, spacious room with a sexy feel. Extras of Sonos speaker and Spotify were nice. We used the rain playlist to drown out the extended party noise and slept so well! The shower pressure is low, but didn’t bother us at all. Nice products and double shower head. We loved it and would definitely return!

The staff was welcoming upon arrival and did a wonderful job of assisting us even when our room wasn’t ready by giving us a great recommendation for a local restaurant and allowing us to store our bags. Upon return they were so helpful with bags up to our room. The room has a Sonos sound system in the bathroom AND the main space, cool red lighting and a great coffee maker. Will DEFINITELY stay here again.

- Michael (8/5): Unprofessional Owner! - Our stay was great except for one incident. We had the top room and couldn’t hear any sounds from the bar below. The staff was extremely welcoming, friendly, and accommodating, and the room was clean and very romantic. Extremely cool place to stay! The only issue is when we were awoken one morning by someone blaring loud music from the room below us. After knocking on the floor didn’t work, I followed the racket downstairs and knocked on the door to ask the man to please keep the noise down. The guy ultimately complied but had the huevos, HUEVOS I tell you, to school me in the fact that I should’ve knocked on the door first instead of the floor (which he had heard but ignored) because it’s better for the old building. Well, it turned out that he was one of the hotel OWNERS staying in the room below us! Can you believe it? So, I’d still recommend staying here, but be on the lookout for an inconsiderate little man, who looks like George Liquor (Google it), who would rather park his kid in front of a blaring TV, waking up paying guests on a Sunday morning, in New Orleans of all places, rather than actually interacting with the kid quietly like any decent human being would. Staggeringly unprofessional!

But you'll find property owners who are on site, incredibly friendly and helpful, and the best neighborhood in New Orleans! The area is very safe, one block from Frenchmen so close to the action but quiet enough for sleep. I've been to NOLA at least once a year for 20 years and this is my go-to place from now on.

My wifi wasn't working and when I called to have it looked at, I got a voicemail. In all fairness it was 11pm so I wasn't sure what to expect BUT the manager called me back in a reasonable amount of time and got me working. If you are visiting the French Quarter and want a guaranteed good time, this is the right place and the price is awesome. The people are friendly and accommodating. Instead of a mint on my pillow, I found 2 free drink tokens for the bar which was pretty cool. I just happened to be there for work so I couldn't party and would have preferred a quieter place.

Good sized room with open plan bedroom and living room space. Bathroom with shower ensuite. Comfy bed and air conditioning to make sure the hot nights are made all the more pleasant. Fridge and coffee making facilities, and a selection of toiletries and fresh clean towels each day, you also have access to the shared balcony and we might have made more use of it if we hadn’t spent so much time exploring everytwhere else. Staff couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable. Very friendly and the atmosphere in the downstairs bar and this location is amazing. Locals very friendly and plenty of places to see within a five minute walk including Frenchmen’s Street and Bourbon Street. The room comes with earplugs, but we didn’t find the lively music and bar noise a problem. Overall a great find.

- DEBORAH (10/5): A Hidden Treasure!! - We loved the Inn....it is so "New Orleans" and the rooms are great. The Inn just added to the New Orleans experience. I have already recommended it to some friends who are going there. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip to NO. Love the fact that it is so close to everything.

Not a place for children, (nudity in artwork, rooms are above a bar room and such...) but if you are stay for a night or 2 and like a fun atmosphere, you have an awedome choice in The Royal Inn. We will be looking for vancancies here again in the future!
- James (8/5): Quirky but cool! - Great place with nice creature comforts. Sonos music and Roku TV were unexpected bonuses. Nicely decorated with large bath. Great neighborhood bar downstairs and no noise heard on 3rd floor at all. It's a walk up so pack light and tall people will have issues with the ceiling in both bedroom and bath as the ceilings angle downward on both sides. Toilet was a downright challenge to stand at. A little pricey but great area and close to Frenchman.
- Ken (10/5): Cozy place with great atmosphere .. - Stayed in Storyville suite on 2nd floor .. Loved the room and the large balcony. The stairs are very steep and narrow .. Choose the 1st floor suite if you don't want a climb. A/C was cold and created some good white noise for sleeping .. It is very loud at night in the French Quarter so keep that in mind. The staff and amenities are awesome .. And plenty of excellent dining options within walking distance Would definitely stay again ..

The hotel was clean and the room was set up really nicely. The one thing I wish the room had was a microwave and maybe some water (complementary or for purchase) in the mini fridge.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A Real Slice of New Orleans - The bar is charming and the rooms are fantastic--clean, comfortable, very well decorated. The rooms are above the bar so noise can be an issue (I would not recommend bringing children to this hotel). The location is perfect for those who want to hit the French Quarter, Marigny, or Baywater but be just outside the chaos of the French Quarter.
- lara (10/5): Pictures don't do it justice. - Amazing. I recently stayed at the Royal Street Inn, Royal Suite. It was absolutely perfect. First, the photos are beautiful but don't even do it justice. It is furnished perfectly for the building and local style. The manager was awesome and very accommodating. He introduced us to the suite with WWOZ playing on the stereo--a nice touch. He had even prepared some things-to-do in town customized for our travel dates. I didn't realize that the room had walk-out windows onto a private balcony overlooking Royal Street. Such a bonus! Very comfortable for coffee in the morning or people-watching through the day and into the night. Some reviews have mentioned noise, but that's part of the neighborhood and the charm in my opinion. You don't pick a place like this if you want a chain hotel experience. I couldn't recommend the place more.
- David (8/5): Old world charm and great location - Great atmosphere and the bar downstairs is a local favorite, so it's not just a tourist spot. Room was very comfortable but with old-school charm. Nice common balcony for relaxing and having a beer. Staff were very attentive for an early check-in. I just called the property and the housekeeper let me in and gave me the key. Just one downside. On Saturday and Sunday, there was no housekeeping service. Trash started piling up in the little trash can from having guests over to enjoy the balcony. I was out on the street by noon each day, so the housekeeping could have been done in the afternoon.I will still go back, though.
- Christina (4/5): Great Room but Hard to Sleep at Night- Too noisy!! - Great, spacious, clean room on ground level but beware, the bar next door makes it hard to sleep at night. Very loud- and while we were told the "door people" at the bar try to keep bar patrons away from the hotel room door, it obviously failed. Had people sitting on our stoop well after midnight talking and carrying on. Not a place for families for sure. Owner was very nice. Told upon arrival that it's loud and there were ear plugs next to bed. Costly room for type of sleep you'll get especially on the weekends. Great place of college kids not minding the noise at night.
- Sarah (10/5): Best kept secret in New Orleans - This hidden gem is worth the little bit of noise you hear from the bar downstairs. I loved the whole vibe of this place. Very cool rooms and the staff was awesome! We met Adam and Sunshine, they were both so accommodating. We will be back for sure.
