Guest Reviews
- Juliana (5/5): - Accommodation was clean and tidy. BBQ area was very minimal...no area to prepare. But we were provided with all the utensils. That was good. I booked and paid for one of the self contained chalet but when we arrived we were given one of their suite. We arrived late therefore there's no one at the reception to talk to. Next day when I raised this matter, I was told its not their problem but booking.com
- Ron (9/5): Could not have been happier with the whole experience. - Everything - from the quality of the chalet to the the wildlife and dining experience.
- Stan (10/5): Perfect romantic weekend of fireplace wines, nearby hiking, and cosy clean friendly cabin stay - Clean, cosy, private, great breakfast. Nothing
- Ronald (9/5): Very comfortable property. Great staff. - Quiet comfortable little cabin. Nice bar/restaurant but not open the night we stayed. Rachel was very helpful on checkin and about the area Nothing really. Only small item the glass on the fireplace was totally black. Needs cleaning. Other than that the cabin was very clean and well presented. It’s not a complaint just a small matter it’s nice to see the fire burning. But all good. 👍

- Sam (8/5): -
- PAUL (8/5): Very cool - Location and the privacy The lighting in the room was average
- Stephen (9/5): -
- Diana (8/5): Great place to recharge and unwind. - Quiet and peaceful. Lovely bush setting. Distance from town. Did provide packaged meal for one night. Not great selection.
- Amy (9/5): Nice stay - Nice little cabin with fireplace. NA
- Donna (7/5): - It was quiet and relaxing for a family retreat.
Attractions were close by.
Staff were helpful. The restaurant on;y had meal combos to order from ,2 or 3 courses. Portion size too large. We would have preferred the choice to order a single main meal.
Dvd player in cabin 10 not working.
- Peter (10/5): - Great accommodation excellent restaurant All good
- JINHUAI (9/5): 不错的,有了网络就很好 - 还好 房间没有网络
- Johnson (6/5): Overall we're still happy with the stay and good value for the money. - Location is wonderful, peaceful and quiet. The continental breakfast was quite good, house made fruit loaf was excellent. Timber cabins are nice. It was clean. Bathroom drains were very smelly, it got better once water flushed through for awhile but it seemed like no-one had even checked, it made the whole place stink. Toilet took about 15 minutes to fill up. There are wifi modems on each cabin, lights on and everything but no internet connection, and no mobile reception there (at least with optus), which is fine actually but they intended to have wifi obviously and haven't bothered to fix it. I am aware that the owner "doesn't want to spend money on the place", which is a shame because it has really high potential.
- Lauren (8/5): -
- Karen (5/5): - The facilities were good and property was ok. The 90 minute wait both nights for dinner with no apologies or reasons other than short staffed.
- Hillary (8/5): A tranquil hideaway in the bush, close to the National Park. - Nestled in the bush with cabins set out to maximise privacy. Very spacious cabins. Close to a lovely walking track in Broadwater state park. Resident kangaroos and lots of birds. The preordered dinners were generous servings and delicious. The tariff includes a continental breakfast but , unfortunately, this can only be eaten in the restaurant, and only between 8:15 and 9:30. As our purpose was to go hiking in Girraween NP, this was way too late. Additionally, on check out day, the long drive ahead also meant that we couldn’t wait til 8:15. As the rooms have fridges, toasters and kettles- the option of having continental provisions in the cabin would be helpful. When we stayed here 3 years ago, the breakfast basket in the cabin was superb, so this new arrangement is disappointing and we had to skip breakfast both mornings.
- Althea (9/5): Great location and friendly staff - Beautiful location and the cabins were thoughtfully set out and clean with everything you need in hand. It was wonderful to watch the local wild birds come to visit in the morning while having a cup of tea on the deck, even had a visit from a cheeky possum. Would definitely stay again. There seemed to be a problem with our hot water which unfortunately we didn't realise until later that night.
- Katrina (9/5): I loved our stay and would stay again - I enjoyed the whole stay from the comfort of our cabin to peaceful surrounding bushland, dinner was amazing and breakfast had a great selection. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. I would stay here again. the floor of our shower was more annoying than anything - every time you took a step in moved along with you. The lighting through the bush shortcut wasn't working very well.
- Heidi (8/5): -
- Kasey (8/5): - Make sure you know when the Brewery is open if you are staying and wanting to eat at the restaurant.
- Brendan (10/5): -
- Denise (9/5): Lovely place for two nights - Nice to have breakfast on location Roads a bit bumpy and we hit a rock near the cabin that was impossible to see
- Keshav (10/5): -
- Lynette and Darryl (9/5): Great spot to stay and eat. Great food! - Nice position and lovely grounds. Very quiet.
- Stephen (3/5): Don't come Tuesday to Thursday! - We were attracted by photos of the restaurant and bar as well as personal recommendation. When we arrived on Thursday we found the restaurant was closed and the bar closed at 5pm. So don't come Tuesday to Thursday. We were sold frozen meals at restaurant prices to heat up in the microwave. Free internet would not connect in our cabin, the air conditioning sounded like a motor bike revving and the toilet was installed in a way that forced me to sit down to pee.
- Sarah (3/5): Very down-at-heel property and way overpriced for what it is. Avoid! - Potentially a nice property but it's looking very neglected these days. The accommodation was soulless, there was no 3G and very patchy wifi which is problematic for anyone who needs to be available for work/family issues. Breakfast was terrible with stale bread and staff completely unable to resolve issues. I sent a mail to them detailing the problems but got no reply which is symptomatic of how this place is run. Definitely go elsewhere when in Stanthorpe
- Rachel (10/5): A cute cabin in the woods - Privacy with a beautiful outlook into the bush Nil
- Clinton (7/5): -
- Natalie (7/5): Average. - Close to Stanthorpe. Older than expected. Average facilities. Not worth the price. Felt like a motel.
- mitty!79 (9/5): -
- Anthony (9/5): Great place to stay and recharge your batteries for r and r . Loved the venue - Breakfast was great meals and beer were great and seeing wallabies and kookaburras when staying were awesome great relaxing atmosphere. Front Door handle bit hard to open as worn out and lock bath didn't work . But awesome stay perfect
- Sharon Judith (9/5): - Peace and quiet and cosy accommodation with fireplace
- Merwood (8/5): -
- Jen (6/5): -
- Rebecca (10/5): - So quiet and beautiful property also loved the wildlife that came out in the afternoon. The on-site restaurant was excellent and the staff are friendly.
- Moira (10/5): Beautiful cabins and cute wildlife. - Lovely quiet location and cute self contained cabins. It was lovely spot, however when we were out on the deck overlooking the dam, it looked a little forgotten and a bit overgrown.
- Bjorn (9/5): - Lovely wood cabins. Such a relaxing location The patio light was not working
- Angelina (10/5): -
- KELLI (8/5): -
- Emma (8/5): -
- Fay (7/5): Beautiful place and well situated. - Food was excellent, staff were very friendly and service excellent. Dinner menu and food were excellent. Tables outside could do with some attention and outside eating area could use a good clean.
- Johannes (7/5): Ok for a weekend getaway -
- Robert and Heather (9/5): - We loved our stay and the restaurant was excellent nothing
- Steven Alfred Moore (9/5): -
- Mirzeta (8/5): -
- Judith (8/5): Cozy as - Cozy well equiped Quiet nature scenic close to town
- Sam (8/5): Cosy clean comfortable accommodation in a bush setting with fire and a great bar and restaurant. - Kitchen facilities. Free drinking water.
- Chamupathy (10/5): -
- Carla (10/5): - The staff were very friendly food and beer beautiful
- Cameron (6/5): Overpriced - Quiet and dark at night, heating options with the fireplace and inverter ac Cabins are a bit close knit. Blankets and hairdryer had long black hair on them that was not ours, we stayed during the week and the bar closed at 430 and no cooked meals during the week outside of their $25 frozen meals they offer. Towels were dusty. Breakfast was... I'm sorry... Really bad. Nothing like a 1°C morning and a bowl of cold cereal and milk. The toaster didn't toast and if you put it through twice it burned really badly. The housemade fruit loaf was stale and not well made. The cold fruit salad was mostly watery. No one checked if you actually paid for breakfast as well, so you could go in and get some even if you didn't pay for it which is unfair
- Jenni (6/5): Accomodation lovey, restaurants and facilities run down and lot worth the money. - Log cabins were beautiful set in a lovely location. If you want to switch off, relax and enjoy the surroundings this is the place to go. Very over priced. On site restaurant was below par. Very run down and needs a complete make over. Food was over cooked with hardly any variety. Each time we ordered food we were very disappointed.
Only option is being 2 or 3 courses unable to buy just a man.
There was a lovely host and waitress the first night but by Sunday and Monday the 2 waitresses couldn’t even smile at us. One in particular was so rude made the whole experience very uncomfortable
- Shane (7/5): Rooms need a good clean and update. - The restaurant was ok for dinner and breakfast. Our accommodation was very dated with faulty lights and needs a freshen up
- Mark (10/5): - The meal at the restaurant was a delightful surprise, very good. The cabin was comfortable and the fire place was a bonus on a cold night.
- John (10/5): Overall we wbjoyed our time here. Would be beautiful in winter with the fireplace going relaxing. - We had a very nice stay here. Loved the cottage and the location Didn’t love the showers and the restaurant food was a bit blah.
- Helena (8/5): -
- Kath (4/5): We planned a secluded private romantic getaway all we got was a over price sleep over . - Fornwhat i paid in expected a hit breakfast, I was very disappointed with what was served.
Dinner was not ok we paid a fortune made a complaint about main meal, nil response.
This was our 2nd time, we won't be n back unless the accomodation price drops, dinner menue changes and a hit breakfast. As above.
We stayed in cabin next to restaurant paid the same price as a secluded cabin, nil small wood to start fire, we had to find it ourselves. Court yard over grown , didn't appreciate visitors walking past our court yard. We wanted a secluded cabin we paid the same price though.
- Keir (6/5): Quiet and Secluded. - Nice, quiet and secluded, the location is great if you are looking to get away from the rat race. Cabins are neat and tidy. A couple of first world problems. Internet reception is almost non-existent in the cabins. We arrived on a Thursday, and were informed that the restaurant only opens from Friday to Monday. As such, you need to go off site for dinner.
- David Hughes (8/5): - Close to town N/A
- Stephen (8/5): I would stay there again - Lovely quiet place Opening hours
- E J J (10/5): - Stunning location. Very helpful desk staff. Cosy accommodation with good parking. We arrived in a very heavy thunderstorm and I was worried it might flood as our cabins were in the basin of the valley, but the drainage worked great - nothing to worry about. Restaurant food was brilliant and we all enjoyed a great meal and service. ...
- Sharon (8/5): Good value and close enough to Stanthorpe, would stay again - Close to Stanthorpe. Cabins were clean and spaced apart. Breakfast included Property itself needed a little bit of care.
- Suzanne (7/5): -
- Joy (8/5): Will be back - Evening meals available from the restaurant were delicious and beautifully prepared. Lunch menu is extensive for choice. Continental breakfast included in accommodation with good selection of cereals, yoghurt, fruit and breads. Knowing internet connection was spasmodic at best in advance would have been a good heads up, However it gave us the opportunity to disconnect and enjoy the surroundings.
- Doug (10/5): I would definitely come back to the brewery retreat and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone, especially during t - The log cabin we had was excellent, it had everything we required for that connection with the surrounding nature There was nothing to dislike about the Granite Belt retreat
- Leanne (10/5): Great stay for couples. - Great rooms, comfortable beds, fantastic restaurant.
- Melanie (8/5): Great atmosphere , staff were excellent. - It was well presented The advertisement on booking.com , very misleading. The staff were accommodating to our needs .
- Susan (10/5): Enjoyed by all. - Accommodation, Staff and meals were all excellent. The evening meal was 5 star quality. All the staff were exceptional. Accommodation clean and comfy Nothing.
- Brad (7/5): -
- Jessica (9/5): -
- Ronald (8/5): Great peaceful place to stay. A weekend in winter would be the perfect time to visit - Peaceful location. Cabins were perfect. They thought of everything Restaurant is closed on Tuesday which was disappointing.
- Rebecca (9/5): - Staff were friendly. Check in was straightforward and the cabin was fantastic. Can't think of anything to dislike
- Samantha (10/5): Great location. Great restaurant - the food was amazing. - Great location. Great restaurant - the food was amazing.
- Buchan (8/5): Loved 😍 - Staff were all exceptional. Location was perfect for us, cabin was as described which was important to us when travelling with a child. Everything was so well explained, food was great. Extra treat for us was the continental breakfast included we didnt realise we had booked that. You guys went above and beyond could not rate you better! We had no negative experiences. Everything was great.

- Lauren (8/5): - So peaceful and quiet - great for the night away I very much needed. Whole place just felt relaxing immediately. The ‘continental breakfast’ was not worth leaving the room for.
- Robin (9/5): - Real nice place, comfotable., Awesome beers and food and great staff. Very welcoming place
- Ross (6/5): Great location , clean chalet and comfortable bed but the whole place lacks any love - Cabin was nice , staff were very friendly Tv didn’t work . Breakfast is very poor - bread is doughy and stale and lack of any variety for what’s a described as a continental breakfast
- Wendy (7/5): Love the country cabin feel, we may come back. - The young lady on reception, bar + waitress was lovely and professional considering she was the only one there. The cabin felt very dated. The bathroom basin was broken.
Kitchen was closed Tuesday Wednesday Thursday, wasn’t shown on the website upon booking that the kitchen was not open.
- Wonda (7/5): - The Restaurant, Brewery and staff were great. The accommodation for the price was "tired" very disappointing. The whole facility outside needs some love it has the potential to be an outstanding holiday destination.
- Kim (8/5): Great place to relax and unwind - Lovely rural setting, and we loved having the fire place The bad storms that we’re on that weekend 😢
- petermernamc (9/5): -
- Arthur (6/5): Disappointing - Nice location, but very tired. Little evidence of brewing. Staff just wanted to get us through the restaurant. Food OK. Generally looks tired and unloved.
