Guest Reviews
- Carolyn (10/5): Wonderful relaxing stay in the county - Another wonderful stay at That Country Place. We love staying out in the quiet country and Lorri is just awesome. Just a quick trip to Hanna for groceries, restaurants, gas etc.
- Susan G. (10/5): Cozy and comfortable best describes our stay. - The hostess was helpful and a joy to talk with. We felt at home.
We found each room was decorated with care and attention to detail. No negatives.
- Scott (10/5): - Lorri was exceptionally accommodating and hospitable. Nothing. It was perfect.
- Douglass (10/5): Fabulous, unique, romantic, highly recommended - Charming, warm, authentic Canadiana N/A
- Dori (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maureen (10/5): Exceptional - This was our second time to enjoy this accommodation. The owner is very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. The decor is beautifully done. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and style. Access to a front room, which previously was a tea room, now keeps that same feeling as you sit around tables and enjoy the prairie view and setting sun. Or you can sit in a quiet sitting room and read a book. There is also a small kitchen with fridge and microwave. Everything you need. Would be wonderful for a family get together, or a crafting weekend!
- Constance (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kim (9/5): Wonderful - I wish I had time to stay longer! - The location doesn't show up on google maps, so I had to phone for directions I prefer a firmer bed - just my personal preference
- Carolyn (10/5): Relaxing stay in the country - We love staying at That Country Place for a relaxing get away. The room is large with a very comfortable bed. Shared kitchen with provided coffee, tea, yogurt and juice. Only 5 minutes into Hanna. Cute little deck to enjoy the country and listen to the cows in a nearby field. What a great getaway! Lorri is fantastic and always available for anything you might need,p. There is nothing not to like.
- Donna (10/5): Beauty and serenity - Wonderful and accommodating host. Beautifully decorated and comfortable home. Very peaceful.
- Anita (9/5): It was a beautiful , comfortable and clean stay for my 4 days while working - Yogurt and fruit was just right for me. It would have been nice to be able to prepare my own meals while staying 4 days. Maybe a counter top toaster oven. Otherwise coffee and fruit with yogurt was a nice touch for the morning . Thank you for friendly comfortable environment.
- Iris (10/5): If I ever need a place to stay near Calgary (2 hours out), this will be it! - Hostess Lori was very friendly, provided great directions and met us on our arrival. The accommodation was quaint, cozy, a lovely combination of old fashioned and modern which made it an overall comfortable stay. The breakfast options were plenty and everything was fresh and tasty. n/a
- Claire (10/5): 10/10 would reccomend - The location was close to Hanna, so it was easy to zip into town for some dinner. There were lots of options for breakfast at the house. The rooms and property were quaint and Lorri was lovely. Great value for the stay! The water had a sulfur smell to it, but it was soft, and there was bottled water available for drinking so not a huge deal.
- Glenda (9/5): Lorri and Don were lovely hosts, responding quickly to requests and helpful with information about the area. Breakfast w -
- Candy (9/5): We would stay there again! - Clean, quiet, peaceful and safe! Nothing! It was great!
- Diane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deanna (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, comfortable room. Peaceful surroundings. Loved the clawfoot bathtub. Will definitely book there again when in the area.
- Carolyn (10/5): Wonderful quiet country stay! - We loved our stay in this cute little farm house. It had absolutely everything we needed. The bedroom was spacious with a comfy queen bed and large private bathroom. Lots of shared area with the other two bedrooms. Continental breakfast was very nice with muffins, fresh fruit, juice and yogurt. Best of all was the quietness of the country with just the birds chirping and the odd moon from a nearby cow. Lorri was a wonderful host, quick to answer any questions and available for anything we might need. There was nothing that we didn’t like. The only thing that would make it even better would be some comfy seating on the verandah.
- Alan (10/5): Charming country house right outside of Hanna. - Charming old country home that used to host a tea house. There were still jars of loose tea for breakfast! Hostess was extremely attentive and topped that off with great communication. It had character yet still had all the comforts we needed. Nothing
- Daniel (10/5): If your looking for a step back in time to a warm and friendly country stay, this is a great place t - This is a gem in the prairies. The new owners have three rooms for guests in this separate building near their own residence. My room was perfect. Nice washroom, shower, TV, wifi, bed. I had the whole place to myself so it was wonderful. Kitchen provided with all the basics and more with fruit, juice drinks, muffins, cinnamon rolls, for a healthy breakfast of self-serve. Since I was birding in the Hanna region, this was a perfect way to recharge my batteries after a highly successful day. I watched a hockey playoff game and the Oilers lost! Sad.
- Relja (10/5): Great to be back - Great place to stay in Hanna and the breakfast kept me going :). Nothing really
- Aspen (10/5): Exceptional - Host was amazing! Offered whatever I needed. Very kind. Nothing at all! I was worried about travelling out here for work and the stay made it feel like a vacation in the evenings.
- Phanthipha (10/5): Exceptional - Great experience! Lorri was super helpful and provided great accommodations. Very cozy and quiet.
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional - Forget just being good operators, the folks here are legitimately good people. This is the type of business that you simply want to support.
- Cindy (8/5): I will definitely stay again. - Cozy country cottage feel It was clean and the hosts were very accommodating
- Marina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Irving (8/5): Very good - Like advertised, beautiful prairie location. Quiet, scenic, an awesome place to go if you want to relax and get away from the busy cities. Hanna has lots of history and offers lots to see, eat, friendly people. A real gem. Nothing I can think of.
- Cathy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marilyn (10/5): We wanted to stay longer. We had a family event so we booked the whole space. Loved it! - The continental breakfast included plenty of muffins, cinnamon buns banana bread, juices, fruit and yogurt. Coffee and lots of tea choices.
A very charming country retreat. Lots of room, comfortable beds. We enjoyed our stay. Ours host was very welcoming and available if we needed anything.
- Ashley (10/5): perfect - quiet and clean nothing
- Michelle (9/5): Superb -
- T (10/5): Thanks for the great time - Lorri was great and the location was perfect for my needs.
- Sally (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dima (8/5): Very good - All is great especially tea's and host. You need to get used to type of water.
- Kvp100 (9/5): What a beautiful place!! - Had a lovely stay here with my family. Not sure what I was expecting, but was delighted with what we got which was 2 rooms in a 3 room separate building from the main house. It was so cute and homely and decorated so nicely.
The beds were made up sumptuously and really comfortable. The living and dining areas were cosy and the kitchen was big with a full refrigerator. Tea (a huge selection), coffee, juice and water was provided. The continental breakfast was ample, with delicious muffins and amazing banana bread, fruits and yogurt. The host said we cold take any leftovers we wanted and I'm ashamed to admit we ate every bit of the banana bread but we took a few muffins for the long drive ahead of us.
The host was lovely and made us feel at home. She has really put so many nice touches into the place.
As a note, this place would be the perfect weekend getaway spot for a small family/friend get together! Just a personal thing.. there was a few moths around. I only mention as, if you are terrified of them like I am, you may need some assistance to get rid of them. I made the hubby do a thorough bedroom check before I could sleep, but again, thats just me. No one else in the family had a problem with it.
It's a rustic style place out in the country, so the odd insect is to be expected :D
