Queen Majesty (1/5): Not so good. You get what you paid for. - The location was great. Very close to everything. The staff is very friendly . My baby had insect bite from the bed, not sure if they had bed bugs. I let my baby crawl on the floor and he was fine, but when we are about to sleep, he started scratching. I was sneezing the whole time, you can tell that they did not clean the room properly. The room was dusty, the bed is not comfortable, shower head was awful,it took me forever to rinse my hair, no netflix, nothing to watch really. Their office smells funny, you can hear the cars and people passing by, maybe because our room was close to the road and the driveway.

Simon (8/5): Fantastic - Extremely clean the man who I think owns the property was really cool to work with. The bed was sooo comfy that we slept til almost check out. Being so close to the Main Street was a little concerning however the was virtually no road noise will definitely stay here again and totally recommend One issue was not being told in advance that there was a 150$ deposit it was returned in cash with no delays or problems but was definitely not expected and not outlined in the booking details on line. The next would be pulling in to check in and finding that the office is closed and redirected to the motel office next door

Charles (1/5): Worst stay ever - The location The staff was very unprofessional, the cleanliness and quality was very poor. The the bedsheets and blankets had burns and tried blood. The refrigerator was loud and make noise. The heater kept going out.
Riamae (4/5): Could've been better. - The location is very nice, you can walk to almost any store you'd like. I like how there's plenty of parking so no issues looking for a spot. I didn't like how the room was on the second floor while they were fixing the staircase our whole stay. They could have left the second floor closed until the job was finished because it felt like we were in the way of the workers. The room also had no ventilation at all. I usually take warm-hot showers and the steam just stays there. No AC, there was only one fan that barely did its job. It could have been just our room that was like this but I don't recommend this place if you plan on staying for more than a day. You really do get what you pay for. Lastly, the name of the place is misleading, I don't know why it's "Tahoe Sands Inn" on here but on the maps it's Pinewood Inn, this can confuse a lot of costumers.

There were large, old blood stains on the bedding, grime everywhere, and a Band-Aid crudely stuck over one of the smoke detectors—so gross. The bed was rock hard, with no fitted sheet, just a flimsy top sheet that slid around, leaving me exposed. The mattress cover didn’t even fit properly and was put on inside out. I contacted the hotel multiple times by phone and email with photos, and Booking.com also tried on my behalf — no response. When I did reach someone, they hung up on me. Dozens of reviews report the same issues, so management clearly knows and does nothing. Some lower-level rooms are okay, and it is quiet with hardly any guests, but this experience was so bad that I will never return. Never again.

jz808707 (6/5): Inexpensive, good location, heat issues - Classic "you get what you paid for" Inn. VERY good location at the bottom of South Lake Tahoe so you are centrally-located to do it all without being in the center of craziness there. Very close to the Lake and Highway 50 and Stateline. You can walk to the Lake from the Inn and take the path along the Lake. Service was very good, rates were very good during October. Room and bed were good, very quiet. Only problem I had was that the wall heater would not continue functioning for 3 days/nights straight, so I woke up in the mornings when the outside temps were in the 30s and the room was about 45-50 degrees, even after their maintenance reps came every day to re-light the furnace.
Bendl (1/5): I do not recommend this accommodation at all. - I liked the parking space at the accommodation. 1. Upon arrival at the room, it was quite obvious that the heating in the room was not working and it was not working, so we were freezing all night. 2. Bed was only covered with a sheet, there was no blanket in the bed, so it would have been warmer in the car too. 3. There was no hot water in the bathroom, only lukewarm water.

Elizabeth (6/5): - In order to get to one side of the bed you had to turn sideways and go one leg at a time. The path to the toilet was also VERY narrow. The shower was also quite small. So, think about an RV and you will be very comfortable and happy.

Tyrone (6/5): - The room is clean. The property was quiet. And it was just overall a decent day for the price given The room didn’t have A/C on the second floor. There was only a standing fan in the room. In 80° weather for the high, it got pretty uncomfortable in the afternoon so I had to wait until night time to open the door and use the standing fan as close to the door as possible to cool my room down. I later found out that AC is given to certain rooms while others do not have it so that was entirely my fault for booking the room without AC. Just be mindful and select your room carefully when booking a stay here.

Skitch (5/5): Overpriced and dirty. - The location is great. Way over priced for what you get. No AC, dirty rooms, super thin walls, really cheap towels and toilet paper. They should be charging hostel prices, not premium prices for what they provide or at least include a breakfast.

Verified traveler (4/5): I hope to see all these issues to be addressed. - I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay at this hotel. Upon my late-night arrival, I was left waiting in the dark for someone to provide a key, despite the "OPEN" sign being illuminated. I later discovered a notice instructing guests to pick up keys from a different building. It appears the reception area is merely decorative and serves only to keep the "OPEN" sign lit. Furthermore, I was disappointed to find no coffee, drinking water, or boiled water available for guests. The rooms lacked essential amenities such as teapots, coffee makers, and closets with hangers. Additionally, the comforter in my room appeared to be over 20 years old. ECO Friendly? People were smoking openly on the parking lot and no recycle bins nor Bear Tough Trash Can were avaiable. I hope Tahoe Sands will consider these issues and take steps to improve the guest experience.

Annette (5/5): Passable - Clean room/bed, large bathroom (stayed in room equipped for handicapped). The fridge and microwave worked properly as well as being clean. Could not control room temperature because they disconnected the heater to the room ( dropped to 44° at night). The heating/cooling systems for the room were outdated. Could not open the bathroom door fully because the carpeting was too high for the door to clear. The bathroom fan didn't work properly. Check-in office was not located on-site.

I was there for celebrity golf tournament which was about a 40 minute walk. This was a good value because lake tahoe is expensive during this time. I would stay here again. A coffee machine in room would be nice. They had coffee in office at 8 am but I left before that time

Robert (4/5): - 1) Googlemaps led us to a boarded up side of the motel where there were weeds and peeling paint. 2) The place looked abandoned, except for a truck with equipment in the back with the motel room door wide open. I assumed that he was removating the motel. I called expedia to rebook me in another motel but they could not find me other motels/hotels in my price range. I told them I would find a hotel. I started my search at the motel right next to this one. And, as it turns out, the owner of this motel just bought the motel where I was booked and that this manager was the person whom I was to get my keys from. I told him that the place looked abandoned and I would like to see a room. He would not let me see a room until I checked in. I told him I would be back. I walked next door to the first motel. The truck owner was acually a guest with lots of fishing equipment in the back of hsi truck. I asked him how clean his room was and he allowed me to look through his door to see for myself. It was clean. I went back to the other motel to ckeck in, but the manager had been watching me through security cameras. He said I was "rude for going into another guest's room". I told him I did not go in but that the truck owner gave me permission to look into his room. The manager still insisted that I was rude for looking in, even with permission. I still checked in. 3) There was a sleep depriving rattling noise in the wall. 4) furnace pilot light was out. Manager fixed it

There was just enough space for the double size bed and there was not a right angle to be seen with its odd configuration. The two windows had bars on them and it abuts a street in a residential area. The heater did not work
