- Peter Carey (8/5): - Location and host were amazing. Definitely recommend
- Waters (9/5): - Bernie was a absolute delight đ normally my partner doesn't enjoy shared accommodation but she was great .
- Fiona (10/5): Wonderful location to explore the beautiful island. Quiet clean room, fabulous care given by Bernie -
- Darren (10/5): Too short! - Out of town, near the coast - outlook is stunning.
- Madison (10/5): Wonderful overnight stay, would love to stay longer next time - Beautifully maintained property with relaxing views, we stayed in summer but I can image in being equally as beautiful and cozy in winter! Bernadette was a wonderful host, very lovely surprise when she played some Brazilian music at breakfast after finding out my partner is from Brazil N/a
- Keith (8/5): -
- Klaudya (10/5): - We loved our over night stay, excellent service, very clean and comfortable with ocean view and best continental breakfast ever. Highly recommended for sure.
Can't wait for our next visi
- JMSLondon (8/5): What a spot! Close to the penguins and a pristine view - We loved the location, way out near the water and far from the crowds; this is a prime spot on Phillip Island. We were able to walk to the penguins via a back route where we came upon a wallaby or two in the wild!! Bernadette is also a great feature of a stay at the Swan Lake Guest House. She is full of friendly banter, useful advice and a helping hand when required (as it was when we'd neglected to buy tickets for the Penguin Parade ahead of time). We booked dinner before we were able to secure her advice ... a real mistake! Make sure to leave time to catch up with her! You don't come to Swan Lake for the breakfast, but there are plenty of alternatives out and about.
- greg (10/5): Loved every minute. Would recommend to anyone. - Our hose was amazing â very friendly and knowledgeable. The location is unbelievably good. We were there for the MotoGP, which was literally a 6-minute drive to the track. The views were superb, and so close to amazing attractions. Would definitely stay there again.
- Sandra (10/5): Beatifull hotel with the best hostess - The friendliness of Bernie. You feel so welcome in her beautiful and spacious home. Nothing at all. And Bernie; we went to dinner tonight in Lake Tyres Beach :-)
- Johanna (8/5): Rauhallinen kaunis majapaikka - Maalaismiljöö, wallabit hyppeli takapihalla. Hiljainen ja siisti ja lÀhellÀ pingviini paraatia. Aamiainen ok, vÀhÀn vaatimaton. Poreamme huoneessa oli kiva
- bursle (10/5): - Very close to penguin pde
- Traveller282 (8/5): -
- Per (10/5): Lovely place close to the Penguin Parade - Wallabys seen from the balcony and wonderful breakfast. Most charming Bernadette took very good care of us đ 0
- Vin (9/5): -
- Gayod (10/5): - Place was clean and located in a convenient location to all the attractions. Bernadette was very supportive and friendly.
- Keith (10/5): -
- Christoph (10/5): -
- Jill (10/5): Great, comfortable stay in a perfect location and the owner was very sweet and made me a special breakfast for some diet - Perfect location right next to the penguin parade which was our main reason for coming to Phillips Island.
- Betty (7/5): Convenient, spacious and very clean - Location great as very close to penguin sanctuary. Guest house very clean and spacious. Owner encouraged use of lounge in the evening and enjoyed wine and nibbles. Rooms not sound proofed and could hear snoring guest from room below. Bathroom spacious but hand basin very small and nowhere to place toiletry bag and hand towel. Huge jacuzzi in bathroom which took up a lot of space and not used. Host very friendly and accomodating but entire breakfast spent talking with us.
- Naoko (9/5): -
- Steph (10/5): A wonderful B&B with amazing views and a lovely host! - Bernie was a very gracious host who made us feel very welcome.
The shared living areas were lovely and the views were fabulous! It was also a great location.
- Campbell (10/5): Relaxing and welcoming, perfect light breaky to start the day - Perfect location, very well looked after. Great views, lovely walk before breakfast to the wetland reserves. Wallabies, swans, cape barren geese, lots of different birds. Struggling to think of anything we didnât like. Leaving Swan Lake was about the only thing we didnât like !
- Elena (2/5): -
- GUANG (10/5): - Beautiful guesthouse with sea views, spotless rooms, and the freshest breakfasts. Bernie is such a warm and welcoming hostâhighly recommended!
- Atkinson (10/5): -
- SARATH SISIRA KUMARA (4/5): - As mentioned
- PHILIPPE (10/5): -
- Zhou (10/5): -
- D (5/5): It was only to sleep or stay inside with no outdoor fun like bbq or bonfire. - Its clean and comfortable The property is not having any option for outdoor fun like barbecue or bonfire. The property is only for stays inside the room or with some food and drinks options.
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Therese (10/5): Exceptional -
- Antoinette (10/5): - An absolutely fantastic stay at Swan Lake. The hosts made us feel like family. Knowledgeable about the area and enjoyed having a few laughs. The room was exceptional, clean with the best view.
We will definitely be back AAA
- Bruce (10/5): Peaceful and idyllic location - Bernadette, our host was a wonderful person and was very inviting
- Meg (10/5): Exceptional - We loved sitting on the balcony of our room and watching the wallabies whilst enjoying the cool ocean breeze. The continental breakfast was sufficient, but it would've been nice to have some hot options ( bacon, eggs, pancakes ) The room was neat and clean but we could hear everything going on next door and in the room below us!!
- Leanne (10/5): Comfortable, clean and a fantastic location for a perfect getaway!!! - What a beautiful Guest House, so comfortable and clean. The view from our room was amazing and we enjoyed sitting on our balcony having a few wines. The host Bernie was amazing, so friendly and helpful. We were also amazed at the complimentary breakfast that we enjoyed from a very large common area with a beautiful view. The best part was being so close to the Penguins and some stunning views of Bass Strait. We will be back and next time will stay a few nights.
- Simon (8/5): Very good - Location was brilliant; within walking distance of the Penguin Parade.
Plenty of space within the property Fittings werenât very cohesive. Door to en-suite bathroom stuck against the floor. Lighting was very harsh and not dimmable.
- Kyletg (10/5): Islandâs best location, with charming accommodation and Bernadetteâs warm welcoming hospitality - The location is the best on the island, and the accommodation, including the shared spaces, is full of charm. Bernadette goes above and beyond to engage with her guests and helped us explore the island with tips.
- Katherine (10/5): Perfect!!!! - The location was within walking distance of the Penguin parade
The host Bernadette was fabulous and couldnât do enough for you
The island had some of the best beaches Absolutely nothing
- Loriggio (9/5): Superb - The spacious room Some spiders inside and out.
- Lesley (9/5): Bernadette was a lovely host - Very good đ
- Adhikari (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brian (7/5): Good - Location Same breakfast items for three mornings!
- Lynne (10/5): Exceptional - The location was brilliant, very close to the Penquin parade and Nobbies point. Bernadette was a wonderful hostess, very informative and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and all very fresh.
- Filidea (10/5): Exceptional - Bernadette was an excellent host. The breakfast was great.
The room was perfect and very clean. Bernadette even went out to buy me Almond milk to have. Unfortunately, the mattress was a bit hard for me.
- Nicola (10/5): A most welcoming and comfortable stay at very reasonable price - The host, Bernadette, was very welcoming and attentive and took an interest in her guests . The dining area is spacious and the breakfast more than ample . The rooms and guest areas are new and clean . The bathroom and bedroom is also spacious . Nothing really
- Andrew (9/5): Lovely quite location in the wilds. Informative hosts make you very welcome. - Location very peaceful. Very nice accommodation and comfortable with a decent breakfast. Less than 2mins from the penguin parade but essential to book in advance as full. Nothing - very minor observation would have been nice to have decafe coffee and tea available in main lounge area
- Anastasia (7/5): First time staying at a guest house and my experience - The host had a really lovely genuine personality. It's in a great quiet spot close to cowes. The bed and pillows were comfortable and linen was warm. Good sized room and clean. Many restricted areas, which in one case I understand as it is their home and the hosts live on site, however we almost felt in a cage as really we only had privacy in our room and didn't feel comfortable going anywhere else on the property. It was weird having other guests in beside rooms and had to always be cautious we don't talk too loud to bother others. The price you pay is the same price you would pay at a hotel for a night so in that sense it is expensive. The host was strict and basically told my child off for lying on the couch which is meant to be for public relaxation and looked very grumpy that the bell at reception was touched even though its appealing to children and was touched once. I expected more variety for breakfast such as eggs and bacon. However the breakfast was fresh and the jam selections were delicious. Overall I wouldn't stay again as I didn't feel comfortable, I felt very restricted and couldn't relax. We were also told to respect others staying and not make a lot of noise, yet our neighbours were talking loudly till 2:30am in the room next to us and we had to wake up early as the host wanted to serve early breakfast. We felt constantly watched in the dining/lounge and didn't even feel comfortable sitting on the couch as our moves were watched all the time. I also felt bad telling my child to not do this and don't touch that as the host constantly kept looking at him and he wasn't even being disrespectful. I saw him sitting in a corner sad while waiting for me at reception because he felt he just kept getting told off for everything and I didn't like that at all. The host also talked a lot and it was difficult to keep my child still and I didn't like the feeling making my child feel like a bother when he was trying to just move around as he was bored but didn't touch anything either.
- Harmanmeet (6/5): - The property is neat and clean on the first day, but if you are staying more than one day, you have to stay in the dirty room with no housekeeping. No Bin, no iron, no table, no hair dryer, no microwave for the food; the photo on the website for breakfast is fake, and the view is not real apart from the lounge. 1947 old style TV, not internet is working; if you are paying $1000 for two nights, then its not worth while, host is nice, but amenities are below average.
- Parthasarathi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yukari (10/5): Best time of my life - In addition to the excellent location and surroundings, the hospitality of the guesthouse was truly outstanding. It is a place I would love to visit again.
- Claudia (9/5): Superb - Greatplace, great people
- Karen (10/5): Relaxing with bedding very comfortable. Breakfast was perfect! - Quiet and peaceful location. Room was clean and comfortable. The host was wonderful and very helpful. N/A
- Israel (10/5): Wonderful - Everything was wonderful, the place, the house, the room, the breakfast, and especially Benedette, who was so charming. You feel when a place is built with love and that place is actually done. Thanks for sharing such a nice place! My expectations were high but it was better than imagined! -
- Made (9/5): Superb - Great location, spectacular host Bed was a bit low
- Debbie (10/5): Really welcoming - Big open house, large room, comfy bed.
- Ayaka (10/5): Exceptional - Bernie was a lovely host. She shared a lot of helpful information about the area, such as dinner options and where to visit the following day. We had a great time on the island thanks to Bernie.
The room was spacious and clean, and equipped with a powerful air conditioner and a huge bathtub. We had a comfortable night even though it was a cold day as November.
The hotel was just 2 mins away from the Penguin Parade but also close enough to the town of Cowe. Nothing!
- Lexen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Geoff (9/5): Idyllic! - Terrific location, great viewsâŠ.and itâs only about 2 minutes from the Penguin Parade!!! Nothing whatsoever
- Emma (9/5): Great - Amazing location, surrounded by wildlife
- Stephen (9/5): Superb - Perfect location, 1 -2 minute drive to the penguin parade
- Ishwantha (9/5): Superb -

- Pete (6/5): Not what expected - Close your the penguins The photos looked as if the room was separate and had a fire . Hard to find where to find the entrance to the accommodation
- Eduardo (10/5): Nice, tranquil and warm place to be. - wild life, tranquil place, clean, hoster.

- Thomas (10/5): Womderfull time - Great house in close proximity to the Penguin Parade. Nice hostess. Very good breakfast. Large rooms with a great view of the garden and the sea. We felt very comfortable in the middle of nature.
- Richard (9/5): Great destination, lovely hostess. - Unbeatable location. Lovely well looked after facilities. Quiet, although still in easy reach of Cowes and all its facilities.
- Ranasinghe (4/5): Basically, was good and quiet. - Breakfast was good. Location is good. Hospitality in total was very nice. Also, it was really clean. Comparatively with facilities & other rates in the area, the cost of room & facilities is expensive. But guests need at least a cup of tea during stay. As there are no nearby places to get food and drink. At least a kettle should be provided for a room, so guests make their own tea whenever they need. Also, there were no mats near the entrance of the room or the bathroom .
- David (8/5): Friendly and comfortable. - Excellent Nothing really
- Lala (8/5): Very good -
- Grant (10/5): Magnificent coastal location with warm and welcoming hosts. - Beautiful location, friendly host. Wonderful experience. N/A.
- Colin (10/5): excellent facillitieseasy access - hostess Bernie was most helpful and full of fun. roomy helpful hostess, easy parking, good access to local wildlife
- Mick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janet (9/5): Superb -
- Pamela (10/5): Delightful property with outstanding customer satisfaction, close proximity to everything you need! - Bernadette was such an amazing host!
Delightful, helpful, engaging, knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating and genuine.
She definitely goes above and beyond to ensure you have a wonderful stay.
Travelling with family so utilised the downstairs room with 2 single beds.
The room was clean and spacious.
The spa was fantastic! I don't often get a chance to soak in a bath, so this was a fabulous treat.
There was a small bar fridge and had 2 complimentary bottles of water in it, which was exactly what was needed after our long, hot drive.
The property oversees the beautiful surrounding landscape and we were greeted on one occasion by Wallabies.
Will be staying there again when I next visit Phillip Island and would happily recommend to anyone. Internet in my room didn't really work, however was great upstairs, in the dining, lounge and reception area. All the positive outweighs this so it definitely would not put me off staying there.
